Beyond the Mainstream: Hidden Gems in Florida and New York
As you ponder your decision between Florida and New York, it's worthwhile to explore some hidden gems that might sway your choice. Both states harbor unique attractions that extend beyond the mainstream highlights.
Hidden Gems in Florida:
Everglades National Park: Venture into the vast wilderness of the Everglades, a unique ecosystem teeming with diverse wildlife. Take an airboat ride through the marshes to witness alligators, manatees, and a myriad of bird species.
St. Augustine: Delve into history in St. Augustine, the oldest continuously inhabited European-established settlement in the continental U.S. Explore the charming historic district, visit the Castillo de San Marcos, and stroll along cobblestone streets.
Crystal River: Experience a one-of-a-kind opportunity in Crystal River, where you can swim with gentle manatees in their natural habitat. This heartwarming and educational encounter is a highlight for nature enthusiasts.
Dry Tortugas National Park: For a remote and pristine experience, consider a trip to Dry Tortugas. Accessible only by boat or seaplane, this national park boasts turquoise waters, coral reefs, and the historic Fort Jefferson.
Hidden Gems in New York:
Storm King Art Center: Art aficionados will appreciate Storm King, an open-air museum showcasing large-scale sculptures against the backdrop of rolling hills and woodlands.
Catskill Mountains: Escape the urban hustle to the Catskills, a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Hike scenic trails, explore waterfalls, and enjoy the serenity of this natural retreat.
Dia Beacon: Art and architecture converge at Dia Beacon, a contemporary art museum housed in a former Nabisco factory. Explore thought-provoking installations and enjoy the spacious galleries.
Hudson Valley Wineries: Embark on a picturesque journey through the Hudson Valley's vineyards and wineries. Sample locally-produced wines while soaking in the region's scenic beauty.
The Final Decision: Crafting Your Perfect Itinerary
In the end, your decision between Florida and New York can be further refined by crafting a personalized itinerary that aligns with your interests. Consider combining the well-known attractions with these hidden gems for a truly enriching experience.
Florida Itinerary:
Start with the excitement of Orlando's theme parks. Explore the natural beauty of the Everglades. Immerse yourself in the history of St. Augustine. Discover the enchanting beaches along the Gulf Coast. Conclude your trip with the unique experience of swimming with manatees in Crystal River.

Your Guide to Choosing the Best Vacation Rentals in the Florida Keys
The Florida Keys, with their turquoise waters, swaying palm trees, and vibrant marine life, are a coveted destination for travelers seeking sun-soaked adventures and laid-back island vibes. When planning a vacation to this tropical paradise, selecting the perfect vacation rental is essential for a memorable and enjoyable stay. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you choose the best vacation rentals in the Florida Keys:
Tumblr media
Define Your Preferences and Budget: Before diving into your search for vacation rentals, take some time to define your preferences and budget. Consider factors such as the size of your group, desired amenities like beach access, pool, waterfront views, location within the Keys for example, Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Key West), and your budget constraints.
Research Different Accommodation Options: The Florida Keys offer a diverse range of accommodation options, including beachfront condos, waterfront villas, cozy cottages, and luxury estates. Research various rental properties online through reputable vacation rental websites, read reviews from past guests, and compare prices and amenities to find the perfect fit for your needs.
Consider Location and Accessibility: When choosing a vacation rental in the Florida Keys, consider the location and accessibility to nearby attractions, activities, and amenities. Decide whether you prefer a secluded beachfront retreat or a rental located close to restaurants, shops, and entertainment options. Additionally, consider the ease of access to popular attractions like John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park or Bahia Honda State Park.
Check Amenities and Facilities: Pay close attention to the amenities and facilities offered by each vacation rental property. Look for features such as fully equipped kitchens, private pools or hot tubs, outdoor grilling areas, waterfront decks or balconies, complimentary Wi-Fi, cable TV, and beach or water sports equipment rentals. Prioritize amenities that align with your vacation preferences and activities.
Tumblr media
Read Reviews and Ratings: Reviews and ratings from past guests can provide valuable insights into the quality and suitability of vacation rental properties. Look for properties with consistently positive reviews, paying attention to comments about cleanliness, comfort, responsiveness of the property manager or host, and overall guest satisfaction.
Check Cancellation Policies and Terms: Before making a reservation, carefully review the rental property's cancellation policies and terms. Understand the terms regarding deposits, payment schedules, refund policies, and any additional fees or charges. Choose a rental property with flexible cancellation policies that provide peace of mind in case of unexpected changes to your travel plans.
Book Directly with Reputable Owners or Property Managers: Whenever possible, consider booking your vacation rental directly with reputable owners or property management companies. Direct bookings can offer better rates, personalized service, and direct communication channels in case of any issues or inquiries during your stay.
Secure Your Reservation in Advance: The Florida Keys are a popular destination year-round, especially during peak seasons like winter and spring. To ensure availability and secure your preferred vacation rental, it's advisable to book well in advance, particularly if you plan to travel during peak times or holidays.
By following these guidelines and taking the time to research and evaluate your options, you can confidently select the best vacation rental in the Florida Keys from Bluescape Vacation Rentals for an unforgettable island getaway. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or a bit of both, your ideal vacation rental awaits in this tropical paradise. Call them at 305 395 3799 to discuss your vacation rental requirement.

Best of Florida Keys
Welcome to Dr. Mary Travelbest:
In this episode:  The FAQs are: Which route did you take and how long did it take you? The destination is Florida Keys. The Mistake-.Deleting the important apps for travel. Travel Advice- Gargle with diluted to 1% hydrogen peroxide for fresh breath and reduce sore throat.
FAQs: These are asked by many who want to travel. They see a destination and they ask someone who’s been there.
“Which route did you take and how long did it take you?”
Have you asked these questions before? I have.
It’s always a good idea to ask about others’ travels before you go, so you can gather important details and educate yourself on the options available. That’s why Dr Travelbest has this guide for you. It’s a data point that you need before you make your dream trips come true. For example, I’m looking at a woman who just arrived at Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain and the world’s largest free-standing mountain.
She’s fulfilling a lifetime dream. Other women want to know, how did she get there? They ask because someday, perhaps, they will also make that journey. Whatever your dream destination is, Dr Travelbest will be a guidepost for your travels. Keep listening and asking these questions.

Today’s Episode Destination:  Florida Keys
Tucked away in the southeastern corner of the USA, Florida Keys are a world of their own. The flight from the mainland, drive from Miami or the ferryboat from Naples, Florida are three common ways to arrive and depart. I chose to drive so I would have a car to explore while there. My favorite swimming spot was the middle key, Isla Morada.
https://www.islamorada.fl.us/
My favorite kayaking spot was John Pennekamp State Park, with a beautiful coral reef to see as a snorkeler, too. Check out the mangroves here. I hope to return here soon.

If you’re thinking about the Florida Keys for a visit, go ahead and make your plans. One great logistics piece is you won’t get lost here, since there is only one way in and one way out and all roads lead to Key West.

Key West was full of tourists and not my favorite part of the trip, but you should stop in for some historical perspective and flavor of the largest of the islands. Duval Street is the place to be seen, with restaurants, bars, and galleries in abundance, plus pickpockets. Hemmingway used to live here, and there are some stories still to be told, about the beautiful sunsets and southernmost location on the mainland of the USA. If staying in Key West, be prepared to pay more than double or triple a room than the other keys. It’s economics of supply and demand.

Bahia Honda State Park is known to be the nicest beach on the keys. Sandspur Beach is also worth a visit as is Big Pine Key for snorkeling and seeing tiny key deer. When you come, be sure to order a Cuban sandwich and key lime pie.
If you like swimming, fishing or scuba, there’s plenty to do here.
Today’s Travel Advice-Gargle with hydrogen peroxide
Rinse your mouth. Use a 1% diluted amount and be sure not to swallow any of it. You will find your breath is better, your teeth are cleaner and whiter, and your sore throat may be feeling relieved.
