OFF THE TRAIL Irving Nature Park On one of our many day tripping adventures this past summer looking for places to paint, I turned to look behind me. I loved seeing the fog retreating promising a nice afternoon. The colours were soft as the sun had not yet burned through. The rocks we starting to glow through the filtered light. A photo from the summer that I didn't get around to posting. Milky way on the Bay of Fundy. Technical info: I was struggling with pattern noise and didn't like the result. A little tip for anyone else taking photos - turning off lens distortion correction for night photos and high ISO... This resolves some issues. I typically have it on by default and no matter what I did, I could not clean it up. Ventured out for a road trip this weekend, did not really have an agenda. The first day we ended up stopping at a couple places, one being the Hopewell rocks. I have not been down on the floor here in quite a few years. After sloshing around in the mud, I checked the weather for the next morning - it looked like things were lining up. Found a few potential areas to shoot, Booked a hotel and the next morning it was up at 5:15 to drive 30 minutes from Moncton. I was glad I scoped out the area the day before as certain areas had more mud than others. Trying to navigate the least messy spot would have been difficult in the dark. A long exposure of the Bay of Fundy at Sunset. This is probably my favorite type of photography where I get to use all the techniques I have learned and push my camera to it's limits. These type of shots are technically difficult and can be a bit of trial and error. Always rewarding when they word out better than planned.
