#bc without it so much of his character and reasoning just doesn't make sense anymore

I think it'll be interesting when RWBYJ tells everyone about the ever after, specifically Oscar/Ozpin. I think that'll be a hell of a slap in the face to those two. Imo it's pretty clear that Oz doesn't like the Brothers (his lie for his curse literally puts them in the WORST light to anyone who hears it), but isn't exactly open about it nor does he think on it much. But hearing that the 'gods' are essentially just people who got kicked out of their home would make him. Well I hesitate to say that he'd flip the fuck out, but I definitely think he wouldn't be happy at ALL. I'm sure he'd be furious while simultaneously having an existential crisis.
Frankly, Oz is just. An interesting character when it comes to his thoughts on the Brothers. He went from more or less listening to Light without question (but immediately started questioning when Salem talked to him- "Unsure of where his loyalties still lay-" he trusts Salems words but is confused about his stance on Light, perhaps afraid of questioning him), to putting them in a bad light repeatedly and more or less giving up on his task (there's far far easier ways to unite the world i.e. war- why would he deliberately make it hard on himself? He's far from stupid. He still foes his best to foster peace because why wouldn't he?). And, now, he's actively fighting his curse, and is doing so the second he got an ounce of hope.
I think why he hasn't really thought of fighting the Gods is bc a) he's still scared of them (and it makes sense, I'd be scared too) and b) he never knew that they, well, were just people. I think he'd need some convincing, but I really think he'd be happy to try his hand at giving Light a piece of his mind lol. Something tells me Oz has millennia of bottled up anger- something will eventually be the straw that broke the camels back, as even the most resilient of people can break.
Though I think the biggest issue would be the idea of teaming up with Salem. He's bitter and terrified of her, and although we don't know exactly what's happened between them since their first fight (beyond Oz spending several lives as an alcoholic, then wandering Remnant being reminded of Salem (not necessarily bc he thought every Grimm attack was her, Grimm just remind him of her)), it's entirely possible Salem has also done... something to hurt him. No one's that bitter or terrified of someone for absolutely no reason, but whatever the reason is, that'll definitely be an obstacle between him being allied with her against the Gods. Plus she also, yknow, tortured him and allowed Hazel to torture him (which Oscar took most of it, but they're in the same body).
I think that interaction would be... interesting. Especially since I really don't think Oz even is 'Ozma' anymore. Ozma is the foundations yes, but the merge changes you fundamentally. He has changed his name every lifetime (if Oz doesn't accidentally answer to the name Oscar I'll eat my left shoe), but how much of him really is Ozma anymore? Ship of theseus and all that. If he, by all accounts, isn't 'Ozma' anymore and Salem isn't aware of this, I think it'd be an interesting revelation for her. There's similarities between Oz and how he used to be, but I feel like 'Ozma' is functionally a deadname for him (Oz trans/DID allegory? /j). Especially since I think Ozma is just- not who he is anymore. He's tried living up to the name, but he can't and he knows it (the words his illusion in v9 says speaks a lot to his mental state and his opinion of himself).
God speaking of his illusion on v9, I think it's incredibly clear that what each illusion says pertains to that character in some way. And it says so so much about Ozpin and how he sees himself. It's ironic how the God of Light, associated with creation, made him, yet he thinks that all he does is destroy. He's scarily good at splitting people apart just accidentally (i.e. v6, Summer basically throwing him under the bus thus STRQ broke apart and blamed him, etc) too. Yet Salem, immortal via Lights curse, made herself through Grimm and is very good at rallying people. Dunno, fun thought there (it's why swap aus are so damn tasty with these two).
Sorry for the long ask, I just wanted to ramble in your inbox for a bit. I have many thoughts about Oz.
not. to be snarky but
To live free or die, it’s all the same The enemy was right, there’s no reclaiming In waves of shame We’re desperate to make amends But through a simple soul we lie complacent  Love brings us dreams But grief makes the heart burst at the seams  As light fills my eyes I’ll picture me beside her And pray that I’ll inspire  I promise I’ll be here until the end I promise I’ll be here until… Our story has been told Til our bodies break down every door Til we find what we’ve been looking for
terrified she’ll never forgive him and terrified of what will happen if she confronts the gods again, yes. but terrified of her?
the enemy was right. we’re desperate to make amends. grief makes the heart burst at the seams. i’ll picture me beside her. ozma isn’t terrified of salem; he is, explicitly, ashamed of himself and desperate to make amends and longing for her.
listen. you don’t have to go salem did dot dot dot something to hurt him. we KNOW exactly what she did; rejected the mandate, fought him, burned him alive. they blew up their home and killed their own kids. is this insufficiently traumatizing to explain him.
similarly i do not have to go ozma did dot dot dot something to salem: we know exactly what he did. we know why she’s furious and bitter and still hurting. it is not ambiguous.
he’s spent the intervening centuries hiding inside a narrative where salem is the Great Evil he must defeat because the guilt he feels for deceiving and manipulating her and the grief for everything he sacrificed is so unbearable that he can’t touch it except through layers and layers of distortion. but it’s bleeding through the cracks everywhere. the infinite man tried to be a hero and is a fool who may not be worthy of forgiveness, ozpin suggests. look far enough ahead from the ending of the girl in the tower, and you’ll find the hero who saved her turned out to be a villain.
he hates salem. (he deserves her hatred.) this is the wrenching internal war he fights with himself day after day and life after life; the only way he can live with himself enough to function is by hating her, but the hatred is a fiction, a lie, to protect him from his fear. the truth is that he neither hates her nor deserves her hatred.
i am being intentional about calling him ozma, by the way. i am also intentional about when i call him ozpin or oz. i do not think ozma is a deadname. i don’t think ozma is an ideal he is trying and failing to live up to. he doesn’t identify himself as ozpin; he says “the professor ozpin you all met was not my first form.” he dons these other identities as a mask—i am the combination of countless men who have spent their lives trying to protect the people of remnant—because he hates himself. ozma is who he’s running away from because he doesn’t think ozma has ever been enough.
that is why. salem distinguishes between ozpin and ozma the way that she does. and why she is able to differentiate between oscar and ozma even when oscar is mimicking ozpin, because ozpin is the latest in a long series of masks that ozma wears.
(ozpin is tippetarius enforcing his own exile, and thus he became the wizard. ozma is the true self imprisoned by the curse. he’s… named ozma for a reason.)
”what if you could be anyone?” <- the blacksmith does not ask ruby this question because ruby needs to stop being herself in order to be happy. she offers ruby a metaphorical representation of ozma’s curse—what if you could be anyone, slip into a like-minded soul and become that person—in order to guide ruby to the realization that only her true self is the right fit. this is what i like to call blunt force foreshadowing.
ozma is trying to be a thousand different heroes and salem has only ever wanted ozma. ozma then is not the same person as ozma now, but ozma is ozma is ozma. the ship of theseus is the ship of theseus, then as now. on those who enter the same rivers, ever different waters flow. read heraclitus.
the thing is. yeah. he’s going to snap like a brittle twig when he learns the truth about the gods… because he already knows salem is right, deep down. the enemy is right. it bleeds through even into the lost fable, which is narrated in his voice. jinn’s telling—his telling—obfuscates and twists away from salem’s interiority, her feelings, her motives except for the moment of her realization about the brothers: perhaps the gods were not as powerful as they seemed; she had lied to them, turned them against each other; they were fallible.
the enemy is right. he knows she’s right.
hearing what the kids learned in the ever after is going to shatter the cognitive dissonance preventing him from acting on that knowledge. it’s going to surface ‘until the end’ but now joined to the hope he has—since the end of v8—that he can make amends for his cowardice and lies.
ozma apologizing to the kids and asking for a second chance to earn their trust was, uh, a practice run for ozma apologizing to salem and asking for a second chance. the fallout of the lost fable (“there was so much you hadn’t told us! how could you think that was okay!” and “i gave my life to you because you gave me a place in this world; i thought i was finally doing some good!”) is a reflection of salem’s distress. the narrative is on her side. because. he lied to manipulate her and grievously betrayed her trust. in exactly the same way he did to the kids.

Okay so a thing that has bothered me ever since I first watched Chat Blanc was Bunnyx and the general time travel stuff because tghis makes no sense. In the Chat Blanc time line, after Chat Blanc destroyes the universe, everyone is dead. Including adult!Alix aka Bunnyx. So the Bunnyx fron the Chat Blanc timeline doesn'rt exist anymore, meaning that the Bunnyx fron the episode is from a parallel timeline where Chat Blanc didn't destroy the universe. That however raises the question why she would even care about that other timeline. Is her quest to assure victory over Monarch in every single timeline because that sounds exhausting as hell. I also don't understand the deal with her leg disappearing while she witnesses the fight between LB and CB, it has no reason to, because LB defeating CB doesn't have any effect on Bunnyx because, as stated earlier, the Bunnyx from that timeline is already dead! And honestly, the fact that Lb even had to fight CB makes no sense. They could've just went back in time 2 minutes so LB can erase her name from the letter (or just be quicker so Adrien doesn't see her) and CB doesn't happen in the first place!
Like, genuine question, what was the point of the whole thing? I mean other than the concept is cool and the writers wanted to give LB trauma (which never really plays a significant part in the overall story anyway??)
Sorry for rambling so much, I don't know if this makes any sense, the episode was really confusing to me and idk if it's just because the episode actually doesn't make sense or because I just don't understand it bc time travel is really confusing. Would really love to hear your opinion!
You're fine and you're not missing a thing. The episode simply doesn't make sense nor am I sure why it even exists. I know a lot of people love it, but I really don't get the hype. It runs off of nonsense logic and makes most of the characters look really bad.
Let's start with the lore.
The canon lore is that Bunnyx only travels through time, not universes, so it makes no freaking sense that an adult Bunnyx would be able to stop Chat Blanc since the existence of Chat Blanc should stop her from existing. It's a total paradox that goes against everything we'd been told about her powers. Of course, she's also supposed to be the hero of last resort, yet we hear about her hanging out with famous historical figures and the season five final sees her acting as a substitute for the horse miraculous even though the people she portals in don't do a thing to help with the final battle, so it's not like Chat Blanc is the only time her powers and role get ignored. Any time I use the rabbit, I have to completely rework its lore because canon is just so bad at time travel. I like Alix and her adult design is awesome, but any time Bunnyx shows up, I expect to be annoyed.
Also, I will never forgive her for just dumping Ladybug back in our time without so much as a word of encouragement or any reassurance that the Chat Blanc stuff was only a maybe. And Ladybug was the one to figure out how to fix time!!! Alix, you suck at your job! Or this is just another case of the writers refusing to let someone other than Marinette save the day even though the poor girl really needs a day off.
As for why this episode exists? I don't even know, dude. It makes no sense. Back when we thought it was going to be a driving force in the season four conflict - an assumption that was backed up by Marinette's nightmare in sentibubbler - the episode kinda made sense in spite of its flaws. But we're two seasons past Chat Blanc and the only person who is apparently traumatized by it is Adrien.
Yes, the writers actually said this. No, you didn't miss an episode where Adrien learned about Chat Blanc. They were talking about the nightmares from the final:
Mélanie says that he "could become Chat Blanc" and the others add that even though he does not remember and has never lived it, Chat Blanc still has an influence on his actions.
Yes, this is embarrassingly bad writing. The character who never saw or even heard of Chat Blanc is somehow the one who is traumatized and effected by it while Marinette's trauma has nothing do to with Chat Blanc or the events of the season four final. Instead, it's random BS that was never even hinted at until season five. I just... what?
In case it wasn't obvious - which I guess it isn't given that professional writers missed this - the logical way to write this to have the season four conflict be about Chat Blanc from Ladybug's side. After the conflict ends, she reveals everything to Chat Noir who becomes terrified of hurting people with his powers. This is only exacerbated by the events of Destruction. But then the show would have had to let Chat Noir have a character arc that didn't revolve around Ladynette and the series seems allergic to that as a concept, so instead Adrien gets magical trauma that keeps him from the final fight. And I thought the Derision retcon was bad!
Other issues with Chat Blanc in no particular order:
It cements Nathalie as just as bad a Gabriel since she's the one who tells him Adrien's secret identity and we then see her do nothing to try to protect Adrien.
It makes Gabriel irredeemable by showing him gleefully hurting his child. Dude punts his son across the city with a smile on his face!
It makes Adrien look slimy since he asks Marinette out without telling her that he knows her secret identity. This one is in a bit of a grey area for me because the secret identity stuff is complicated, but Adrien has never been the one who cared about secret identities AND he's the one who has been directly turned down in hero form. The episode takes none of that into consideration with its writing and it really needed to for Adrien to feel like he had a valid point of view here. As is, he's taking advantage of a situation and putting his Lady love at risk for his own wants.
The pillow sniff scene makes Marinette look unhinged.
It spits in the face of The Power of Love by having Adrien's love fail to be enough to stop him from killing Marinette.
Marinette's parents should have gotten involved after Gabriel threatened her. There is no way in hell that I'd let my kid go over to the Agreste mansion after that. If the writers were once again determined to not let Tom and Sabine parent, then the threat should have come when Marinette was alone.
Why did Ladybug even need to go to the future if Bunnyx could have just gone back in time and stopped Ladybug from leaving the present for Adrien? Why did Chat Blanc even need to be defeated? What did Ladybug's ladybug actually fix when she cast her charm?
This is minor, but it bothers me: Chat Noir should not have been smiling and happy when he was freed from his akuma. That boy should have been in the middle of a breakdown.
I know people forgive some of the above because Chat Blanc is sort of an AU and I'm not going to say that's wrong, I just can't look at it that way because there's nothing that sets Chat Blanc apart from the normal timeline. The Paris special gives us an AU. Chat Blanc (and Ephemeral) are what the writers told us would happen in the canon timeline if Gabriel ever discovered his son's secrets. Canon Gabriel was the one doing those things and would have done them again if given the chance. This is who the writers said he is. Same goes for all the other characters who come across less than stellar here.
There's a reason why I love a good Chat Blanc rewrite. It's an idea with a lot of potential, but canon capitalizes on almost none of it.

The Beginning and End of Jake Seresin
Pairing: Jake Seresin x female!reader
TW:angst, death, I think thats it
Summary:They say life is like a story. There’s a beginning, a middle, and an end. If you’re lucky, somewhere scribbled in between the failure and heartaches, you might just have some good. But for Jake Seresin, you weren’t just some side character muddled within the plot. You were the entire book, written like poetry that would rival the greats. You were the sun, moon, and stars wrapped up in a galaxy personified. You had always been his North Star, guiding him through the blackest of nights. And then one day, he was shrouded in darkness without you to lead him home.
Word Count:2k
Gif credit @babyrooster bc I literally could not figure out how to use it without saving it
Tumblr media
Very few people have ever known the real Jake Seresin, the number one reason being that the real Jake, your Jake, doesn't exist anymore. Coyote is the only one of his friends who has seen the true Jake, the man that shone so bright even the sun had no choice but to admit defeat and bow down in his presence.
In order to know who Jake used to be, first they'd have to know you. The woman who made the blonde pilot everything he was. You see, before the world knew Hangman, the overly arrogant and guarded pilot, he was just Jake. Way back in the beginning, he was just a southern boy with too much charm for his own good.
He was friends with everybody, his laugh could make angels weep, and he was rarely found without a smile gracing his features. When you walked into the academy, he was the first person your eyes landed on. It took him a second to see you, but once he did he never looked away again.
In an instant, his entire world shifted. It was as if he'd never laid eyes on another woman, and truthfully he wouldn't care if he never did again. You were a raging fire, capable of setting the world ablaze and watching it burn from the center of the flames.
Yet somehow at the same time, you were a tidal wave, washing over him and engulfing him in cool water that paralyzed him and made him feel alive as he swirled around in your current that pulled him in.
Destructive and cleansing and so beautiful without even knowing it. Suddenly, he realized that his life didn't begin at birth. It began when he met you. Little did he know, love is a dangerous game to play and in the end, he would lose.
His life began and ended with you, and he discovered that his life would be a short one. He may not have died in the literal sense, but Jake as the world knew him was gone the second he lost you.
Sometimes his teammates would get a glimpse of who he used to be. When your guys' song came on, when he saw your favorite flower, when someone wearing your perfume walked by, or when he heard a joke you would have laughed at. It caused him to falter and for a fraction of a second, his eyes light up and he breathed a little easier.
Those moments were far and few between, but when they happened the rest of the squad got the privilege of witnessing who Jake Seresin could have been.
To know you was to know what it felt like to be loved and cherished. You weaseled your way into his heart and life without even trying. It was only a few months before Jake was calling home about you and promising to take you to see those infamous Texas stars. And he did.
He took you home on break, and his family fell in love with you just the same as he did. The two of you went through the academy together and then flight school.
You traveled the world together on deployments, took vacations, and danced in the rain. Jakes sure if you could look at his skull, you'd find his memories with you etched into the bone.
You set every cell in his body on fire, and it made him feel like he could conquer the world. It didn't make any sense, but everything was just better with you. His taste buds could pick up on the slightest hint of flavors, music seemed to make his soul dance, and flying with you made him confident he could touch the sun and not get burned. After all, it paled in comparison to the way you set a scorching fire within him.
But much like Icarus, he got too close and was sent reeling, tumbling towards unbearable pain with nothing to break the fall.
He'll never forget the sound of your voice as you begged not to be taken from the world yet. To be taken from him. It all happened so fast, and no one was able to do anything. Least of all Jake, who sat on the carrier listening to it all unfold over his headset.
You were on a mission with Coyote as your wingman, and Jake was forced to stand by helplessly as your engines failed and you plummeted from the sky. He cried and pleaded for somebody, anybody that was a higher power not to rip you from his hands like this. He had never been a religious man, but he prayed you would be okay until his voice was raw.
He can still feel his knees hitting the ground when Coyote met him in their bunk with a solemn look and shook his head, silently confirming his worst fears. You were gone.
Just like that, your light extinguished as if it wasn't the only thing keeping him from getting lost in the dark. Suddenly, the ring sitting in his nightstand thousands of miles away cruelly mocked him.
In a single blip in time, Jake as the world knew him was gone and Hangman was all that was left in his wake. He died with you and Jake was left an empty shell of a man.
Coyote held him as he wailed, repeating the words 'I didn't get to say goodbye." like a mantra as if it could bring you back. It was never supposed to end like this.
In all honestly, Jake would have jumped in the ocean right then and there to be with you if it hadn't been for the one thing keeping him grounded. His daughter he shared with you.
At the time he couldn't fathom how he was going to return home to his little girl that had your bright smile and infectious laugh and not feel his heart shatter every time he looked at her.
She was young when it happened, having just celebrated her second birthday a few weeks prior. He realized that his sweet precious girl, the only one that could hold a candle to you, would grow up motherless with no memories of the woman who gave her life. The thought alone was enough to make him sick.
He stood stoic with your little girl clinging to his leg as the jets flew over and stepped forward to pound the wings into your coffin. Coyote was the one tasked with presenting Alice with the American flag and dog tags, and he looked up at his friend with tears flowing freely. He knew Jake would never be the same.
At work, he was Hangman. The selfish and arrogant pilot that everyone assumed was just a heartless dick. However, the second he crossed the threshold into his home he was a different man. He cherished every second with his daughter, painfully aware of how quickly it could be taken away.
No one aside from Coyote knew about Alice. Jake selfishly wanted to keep her separate from the life that took the love of his life away. So he did. She stayed with his parents when he was away on deployment and by the time he got to Top Gun, that part of his life was under lock and key.
The daggers never knew about you or Alice, Jake didn't see any reason for them to. Perhaps if they had, they would have understood him a little better. Maybe had some empathy and understanding for why he kept people at a distance. Though that's the thing about Jake.
He didn't want them to understand. It would make it all too real and he wouldn't be able to hide from the reality of what happened. So he let people make their assumptions and kept the cage around his heart welded shut.
Jake may have died with you, but it didn't stop him from being a devoted father. Alice was the only one who got to see anything close to who he was once upon a time. He took her on dates whenever he could, showed up to every single school event, he even took a class to learn how to do her hair.
He thought that watching her develop into her own person without you would be the hardest part. Every time she had a first day of school, or mothers day celebration with her class, or introduced him to a new friend he wished you were there to see it.
He knew one day it would be bigger life events. First boyfriend, learning to drive, prom, graduation, getting married. He knew your absence would be felt by both of them, but he did his best to keep your memory alive.
He told her stories whenever she asked about you, they looked through pictures and videos together, and he tried to take her to see your parents as often as possible.
What he hadn't expected was how difficult it would be when she needed boy advice or motherly comfort. He handled it the best he could, but they both needed you. His heart broke all over again when all she needed was a motherly hug that she would never get.
He believed all that would be the worst part of being a single and grieving dad, but it wasn't. As Alice grew up, she looked and acted more like you with every passing day.
He could no longer run from his past when it was staring back at him every morning over breakfast. It forced him to confront what he had been running from for so long.
One day when Alice was a teenager, it hit him like a ton of bricks. He walked down the stairs and immediately stopped in his tracks when he saw his daughter.
She was wearing a floral print sundress that he recognized. His heart stopped in his chest as he asked where she got it and had his suspicions confirmed.
It came from your wardrobe that he never got rid of. It was the same dress you had worn on your first date with him. Memories flooded his nervous system and he had to excuse himself to go back upstairs. That had been a rough day, mostly spent sobbing on the floor of the bathroom.
Alice wanted to be just like you, and it wasn't hard. She was practically your clone with the same personality and fiery passion that Jake fell in love with. Even her voice was eerily similar to yours. It was torturous at first, but over time Jake found that it was actually healing the gaping wound that never closed.
With each new day, he noticed a new trait that your daughter shared with you. Eventually, he realized that it was the closest he'd ever be to having you around again.
By the time she was an adult, she had started wearing most of your clothes and even started listening to your favorite music and cooking your old recipes that Jake thought he'd never taste again.
His daughter was a beaming ray of light, and one day he realized he had never been in the dark at all. Slowly but surely, he felt like he could breathe again and he was reminded of what it was like to feel human. To feel alive.
The old Jake Seresin was revived and that intoxicating smile, lighthearted laugh, and bubbly personality was back like it never left.
Before Jake, there was Hangman, the overly arrogant and guarded pilot. Way back, somewhere in the middle, he was just a broken man stumbling his way through the darkness. He didn't make friends, nobody ever saw him smile or heard him laugh, and he had a razor-sharp edge that cut anyone who got too close.
Then there was this sweet little girl who walked around like sunshine personified, and she re-lit the fire that had been snuffed out. So you see, eventually the world got to see the real Jake Seresin again. Because to know Jake, they'd have to know Alice. The woman who made him who he is.

Can we please talk about the fact that after Griffin's escape Valtor just left the Cloud Tower? Like first he told the girls that they will go to Cloud tower bc it is a good and powerfull place to stay. That there are only advantages to be there. And then Griffins escaped. And three episodes later he just drops it like it was nothing and decides to live in a cave with the trix again. A cave. He chose a cave over a magical school. Only to get one over on Griffin and leave her in confusion? Something he couldn't even see? If that doesn't show that he only went to cloud tower in the first place to see Griffin and mess up her life , I don't know.
We should talk about it! Because it doesn't make any sense! It's no secret that I'm a die-hard Griffin x Valtor truther but even if you operate with the idea that they were a thing, his behavior still doesn't make sense.
Griffin is his enemy now. He was very obviously mad at her and he did everything in his power to imprison her and keep her imprisoned. He raged that she escaped (and that his plan to get rid of Bloom was foiled but the shot focusing on Griffin specifically being teleported away before his spell could connect is very clear text there). Why in hell would he just leave CT and let her return without a fight or a dirty trick? He did conceal CT in 3x23 so why did he not do that in 3x18 instead? That would have made more sense.
The fact is that he was comfortably stationed in CT while at least everyone at Alfea and RF were aware where he was hiding. Ergo, this does not present a threat to him. The Specialist raid from the beginning of 3x18 could have taken place in any of the previous episodes but that didn't bother him, nor did the possibility of actual law enforcement barging into CT. Griffin alone could not change that situation so drastically as to make him flee CT and canon is very explicit about that. Griffin, Saladin and Faragonda combined could barely hold Valtor back for a minute so her escape couldn't have bothered him enough to motivate his decision.
I think the writers just didn't want to deal with CT anymore and wanted to move the plot along. Because if Valtor had put up a fight for CT, they would have had to spend the episode on that instead of doing the museum heist (really makes wasting 3x20 on the pixies an even worse decision if that were possible). And the thing is that Valtor should have won that fight too if they wanted to be consistent which just changes the plot trajectory too much. Concealing CT could have worked so much better but I think they didn't want to do it while the witches under his control were still inside. So what I would have proposed was to use the pixies to undo the mind control over the witches (somehow) and that way you get an infinitely better version of 3x20. They spend 3x18 on that plot and in the end Valtor uses the spell that makes CT vanish. Then 3x19 would be the museum heist and 3x20 would be Stella saving her father from Cassandra with the rest of the episodes remaining as they are now. It would have worked out way better for both plot and characters.
That said, the lack of logic absolutely does not cancel out your point! He did essentially lose interest in CT as soon as Griffin was out of there. You know, if you're willing to go the somewhat unhinged route, you could say that the reason why he left without doing any damage was to lure Griffin back and keep her away from Faragonda. I don't think he'd be too worried about what the two of them (+ Saladin) can come up with to defeat him but letting them hang out together after he boasted to both of them about how he'll hunt down and tear apart the Company of Light one by one is kind of humiliating. He has to keep them apart for that reason, not because he's jealous or anything! And the best way to do that is keep them all in their respective schools under threat of him finding a way in to create more problems if they don't watch over their students and colleagues and the buildings themselves 24/7. He'll win this by the exhaustion hyper vigilance causes them, you'll see!

Is there any hint Jaime could possibly have dyslexia or a learning disability in books? I think I've heard that it wasn't, but idk it feels like that's a detail from the show that did well portraying Jaime. Idk maybe it's my learning disability ass but I loved that!! But I also just love looking at Jaimes insecurities. It could be another detail that kept him relying on masking/being ultra warrior bc he probably doesn't think of himself as very smart.
yeah the insecurity regarding his intelligence, especially in terms of book smarts, is present in the books too. he really admires the quality in tyrion, and emulates it, often successfully too [saving brienne from rape, achieving things like manipulating shagwell without the methods he previously relied on (force, or even status at some point doesnt work so he has to really think outside of the box, like again, sapphires), tyrion rescue mission, the riverlands .] he can also be very perceptive. he is pretty good at noticing weak points. he hones in on cat’s relationship with jon, he does the same with brienne, looking out for and noticing all of her insecurities in response to her dehumanizing him, and the same happens with loras & kind of using his relationship with renly to prevent the bloodshed in the yard. he is actually just a good mediator in general. that makes so much sense to me bc of his role in his family. he is the only member that everyone likes, while every other party would love to tear each other to shreds, so his specific role in an abusive household is very clear. anyway, jaime’s most severe insecurity is being viewed as a monster. for this reason, he seeks out that *thing* in everyone else so he is not as vulnerable. he can be very good at reading certain people, this is also why his perspective is so popular among readers imo. like he also has an air of tyrion to him, he can also provide a new, and often clearer, vision of certain characters because of his personality & experience (like his argument with brienne regarding robert). this is also just funny when he has such major blindspots regarding other things (romanticization of cersei and sometimes the old kg, though he goes back and forth w this). i think post aerys, jaime really did resolve to not really make decisions anymore and not being someone with responsibility (he was never that interested in power, even before that, but i think he was not that opposed to responsibility, he was ready to be the heir, he did want to be a kg and a good knight), instead, he dissociated and lived pretty much on autopilot. even when he was a commander he was reckless enough to always be on the frontlines and was okay with dying (see the whispering wood). he was impatient and very impulsive because he dreads facing “knots and tangles” (like the horrid moral knot that the aerys situation was, and its devastating consequences) so instead of even trying to think about them he wants to just make them disappear and cut through them. until he cant. for multiple reasons, external and internal. until he has to sit down and untangle them. and he proves himself capable. i liked the learning disability aspect that he was given in the show, it is a nice dimension, and i think he has attributes that i really relate to as well (like how he can fixate and excel in one thing & put all his focus on it, how he keeps saying “oh tyrion would talk so much about history here haha nerd” and then proceeds to spend 2 pages infodumping loras with kg lore, or that one scene where he gets distracted counting coins lol), but i think a lot of it already makes sense without that being actually canon, idk like i wouldnt actually diagnose him (he has no trouble reading from what we have seen) but i am not about to come for anybody’s headcanons

Do you view Gary/Ef as a 'fanfic' ship? Like... for me, Augus/Gwyn, Eran/Mosk, all the canon FT ships... whenever you wrote a different setup with them, I loved it, but I was sort of aware that it was a fannish thing. But somehow I don't get the feel here? Like I know Arden/Ef came first, but Gary/Ef feels just as canon, if that makes sense? Maybe bc the Rainbow verse is so fleshed out, idk, but I thought it was interesting and I'm curious how you feel abt it XD
Hi hi anon!
This one's complex, so I'm gonna try and explain how I think about it as clearly as possible.
To me, everything I write that's set in my own world with my own main characters is original fiction.
That includes the alternate universes, because those alt universes are canon within those universes. So what happens in The Wildness Within isn't canon for the main universe, but it's certainly canon to TWW, and not only that, but about 70% of the extra character details are canon to the main universe, they're just things I couldn't share there, for whatever reason.
On the other hand, if someone else wrote an FT story, it wouldn't be canon to anything at all, except for like, their own story.
I think of many of the Fae Tales AUs as being fannish in nature (they're serials, they go up on AO3, I'm pro transformative works, they show characters in different or new scenarios etc.), but to me they're still original fiction. I've never seen a single AU that I've written as a 'fanfic' ship, no matter how connected it is to the original canon (like The Nascent Diplomat and The Wildness Within which I think we can say are probably the closest to the original world, and the original canon).
However, when it comes to almost complete departures, where characters like Efnisien become almost unrecognisable compared to his original counterpart, I think of those as new worlds. For example, I almost never tag any of Underline the Black with 'fae tales AU' anymore, because it doesn't really mean anything. It's not helpful to newcomers. It's not useful.
Most of the cast never appeared in the canon. (This was also true for the main cast of Falling Falling Stars sans Efnisien - Arden, Gary, Kadek were all newcomers; for me, if a story is 75% new main characters and 25% one holdover vastly AU character, that's now another canon universe lmao).
But back to Underline the Rainbow:
Kadek, Gary, Anton, Flitmouse, Caleb, Faber, Nate, Janusz are all either original characters or were developed as original characters in AUs (like Kadek). Kadek, Caleb, Faber, Kent, and more aren't AUs of anything, they're original to the story. Characters like Gary, Anton, Flitmouse, Nate, Janusz were never anywhere near the Fae Tales canon, or the early Fae Tales AUs, and to me they have nothing to do with it. Which makes classifying Underline the Rainbow as a 'Fae Tales AU' make about as much sense as classifying it as an 'FFS AU' - there's about as much crossover in the characters, after all. And not only that, but main ensemble characters more fundamental to the canon - Ash, Mosk, Eran, Julvia, Gulvi, Augus, Gwyn, either haven't made an appearance (or been mentioned once), or have only been one or two chapters out of 50+.
Proportionately, the amount of characters remaining from the original canon Fae Tales universe stands at about 10%. If you had a dog that was 90% border collie and 10% beagle, you probably wouldn't call that dog a 'beagle AU' or a 'beagle cross' - you'd probably just start calling it a border collie with a weird grandpa. Falling Falling Stars is the same to me, honestly, because so much of the core cast was original to the story, and everyone else from the original series mostly got 'cameos' if they weren't Efnisien or Gwyn. I made a conscious decision to give more weight to original characters - even side characters we don't see much - Vicki, Bridge, Han Yuen, Leo, Nate, Janusz, Teddy, Mika, Gary, Arden, Kadek, etc. The story is nothing without them.
To me, this kind of process (10% og characters remaining) separates Underline the Black out into its own universe. It has very heavy, fairly robust worldbuilding for an omegaverse story (enough that I need to use worldbuilding software to keep track of some of it). I don't need to go back to the Fae Tales canon ever to write it (which I did have to do sometimes for The Wildness Within, and have very rarely had to do for The Nascent Diplomat). I don't need to go back to the Falling Falling Stars/Spoils universe to write it. It stands fully on its own, complete and contained.
Because it has some links to Fae Tales (Efnisien + Gwyn's family mostly), it still has like... a Fae Tales flavour. And now that I've started working on like completely original world stuff in the background, there is a difference.
But yeah no, for a start I don't consider any of it fanfiction, and it's weird when people do, because it's not fanfiction if it's something the OP is doing. We don't call comics by the same comic author - that happen to be different versions of the same world - 'fanfiction.' If the Russos direct two Marvel movies focusing on two separate characters, but the first character cameos in the second in a way that retcons the character's narrative, we don't call the second movie an AU of the first, or fanfiction of the first. It's still an original property.
Underline the Black and Spoils are both separate universes as both have like less than 25% of the original story/characters within them (Imho Iron Man is still Iron Man just because Loki or Thor cameo, or join the ensemble as minor characters). It could be that the Spoils universe feels less fleshed out to you because it's contemporary, for me they're on a similar keel. Especially because Efnisien was literally a 2 dimensional paper cut-out of a fae before Spoils who exists for like 5 seconds in the canon, and he bears almost zero resemblance to his originating character except in name, family and appearance. But certainly not in personality, origins, actions or capacity for growth - i.e. everything that makes the character a character.
But it is fannish.
Tl;dr: I definitely don't see Gary/Ef as a 'fanfic' ship. I don't see any of my AUs as 'fanfic ships' because I don't see any of my original writing as fanfiction even though it's fannish in nature.
If anything, Underline the Black is a Spoils AU, lol.

How would Vil director asked Singer!Yuu to sing a song of abteen romantic movie, Yuu ending up singing I don't Love you By My Chemical Romance and it ending up Vil being the Make lead again but instead and the lead make character moving on from the female lead who cheated
I don't love you anymore!
The movie was a heartbreaking one where it made Vil seem like the jerk not loving the female lead anymore but it's all from HER perspective and showing an illusion that he doesn't love her and that's the reason why she cheated on him. When in reality she just stopped loving him and instead went and hooked up with a different guy that the male lead considered a 'friend' and when the male lead found out he outed her to her friend group and it spread to the whole school.
"… Well, when you go. Don't ever think I'll make you try to stay! And maybe when you get back. I'll be off to find another way."
The scene started with showing the male lead packing all of her stuff from their shared apartment as the female lead tells him why she cheated.
"… And after all this time that you still owe. You're still the good-for-nothing, I don't know! So take your gloves and get out! Better get out! While you can!"
He cuts her off saying he has done nothing but showed her the best in this life he could give her. She tries to speak but he shatters the fake reality she made for herself.
"… When you go And would you even turn to say? I don't love you! Like I did, Yesterday."
HE goes off on a rant of how every little thing she has done to him and he looked away because he loved her so much and even wanted to marry her. The girl was speechless and couldn't defend herself.
"… Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading. So sick and tired of all the needless beating. But baby when they knock you! Down and out! It's where you oughta stay!!"
The friend group came to the apartment seeing the male lead sobbing as he tells them all what happened, they are all disgusted in the female lead. Her best friend from childhood even told her off since the male lead couldn't speak, his throat sore from the argument's they had.
"… And after all the blood that you still owe. Another dollar's just another blow. So fix your eyes and get up! Better get up! While you can! Whoa, whoa!"
The female lead calls her sibling that comes and picks her up seeing her broken in the car she explains what happened and her sibling even drags her for ruining a man who loved her more then the moon.
"… When you go! And would you even turn to say? I don't love you! Like I did! Yesterday! Well come on, come on!"
The female lead got stuck in her head as her sibling knocked sense into her, she wasn't mistreated y her boyfriend. She feel out of love and couldn't deal with the guilt of admitting she cheated on him.
"… When you go! Would you have the guts to say? I don't love you! Like I loved you yesterday!"
She began to sob as she now realized she was the one to fuck up everything in their relationship she wasn't the best girlfriend she was the one who abused, and mistreated him.
"… I don't love you! Like I loved you! Yesterday! I don't love you! Like I loved you! Yesterday!"
After the female lead got her shit together without the new man in her life since he used her to get back with his ex. She tried to go to the male leads to get him back but saw that her childhood friend was with him. She then realized he moved on and that she should just be supportive and leave them alone.
The movie had so much people sobbing bc the music made the scene and movie even better since it painted the male lead the bad guy. When in reality the female lead was the villain in this movie.

ok first thoughts on blackbird (translation available here courtesy of @/funbirdnest and @/spectralpooch as well as yuko and asher)
positive:
i liked it! i thought it was cute! the idea of eichi and wataru working on writing the story together is very sweet to me.
also appreciate how gay it is that they made themselves the ~rulers of yumenosaki academy~
i really liked how the story handles wataru's anger; it's one of the things i find most compelling about him as a character and whenever a story makes that explicit i get pretty excited. it's nice to get narration from his point of view as well bc i do feel like he tends to keep a lot of his ugly emotions to himself so it's cool to really be in his head and feel them without the buffer he puts up to interact with other people.
i love the return of natsume's plan with the oddballs!!! element is my favourite ! story because i found the dynamic between natsume and eichi really fascinating, with how natsume hates eichi but out of understanding of how getting revenge would perpetuate eichi's values decides to instead work for a happy ending that includes eichi. this is something i so wished the story had played with more and it's really nice to see the return of the unique relationship eichi and natsume have by giving natsume's plans a more prominent role and effect on eichi's behaviour.
not so positive (feel free to not read this if that's not your cup of tea):
having said that... i'm not sure how much i really "buy" this as the backstory behind main story. this is just a personal qualm but i really don't like when writers canonize ideas that have a big impact on how you're supposed to read the original story years after the fact. the idea that eichi consciously wrote his own downfall against trickstar (in collaboration with wataru) in my opinion gives eichi more credit than he's gotten before... yes, he's always building self-destruct buttons into his own plans, because subconsciously he wants to be defeated, but taking that from his subconscious to his conscious desires is a bit revisionist imo.
i do think akira deliberately chose to give new weight to wataru saying to eichi in main story, "this is how you wanted things to unfold," but i don't really like it. wataru being able to pick up on what eichi can't admit to himself is one of my favourite things about their dynamic, but if this is something they literally planned together then that undermines wataru's intuition.
i guess i'm not fond of how much of eichi and wataru's behaviour in ! has to be reread as acting or lying in light of this new info. wataru's total disinterest in fine at the beginning of the year, whereby he claimed that his only interest in fine was eichi and didn't really care about the unit while eichi was in the hospital, just doesn't really make that much sense anymore if he knew exactly what purpose fine would serve and what role everyone would play in the story, unless he was totally lying. that's fine, but it's also like... meh?
same goes for eichi. he really went all out exerting himself to try to stop trickstar from overthrowing him. i feel like it means less or at the very least means something different if that had been the plan all along; like he knew how it was going to go and pushed himself that hard either out of a sense of pride or because he was going back on what he'd written and didn't actually want them to defeat him. this is all interesting but i just don't find it as interesting personally as the idea that like, he was moving unconsciously toward an end that he desired, all the while fighting his hardest against it out of pride. like it's a subtle difference but an important one. the new context means eichi has more self-awareness about the outcomes that he wants to achieve, but he doesn't really have a good reason to have that self-awareness at this point in the story (he certainly didn't have it when he was trying to mop the floor with wataru).
in general i don't really think introducing, years after material has already been out, the idea that characters were basically lying or acting for very long stretches of time, in parts of the story where there wasn't really any ambiguity or foreshadowing of the necessity of this, is a good writing move.
tw: suicide / i don't think eichi being suicidal after the events of element is unrealistic or unwarranted, but i do feel like "someone like eichi" should be able to appreciate why that's narratively unsatisfying. like i'm nitpicking here but, eichi feels like the things he did were completely unforgivable and tyrannical. archetypally, the end for a tyrant isn't suicide, it's execution. i feel like in his contemplation of suicide he should be more aware of this, like the fact that suicide would be giving himself a way to escape liability. if it's his pride to die before anyone can execute him then that's a matter he should be considering too. eichi is aware of narratives and archetypes, they're really important to why he sets scenes the way he does and why he casts himself the way he does. i feel like the total absence of any consideration of this before wataru shows up and basically tells him to end his story with a public execution does a disservice to his character.
this is such a nitpick, but eichi asking wataru for his help before wataru provides it undermines wataru's agency and power a bit in my opinion. one huge huge huge thing about wataru's character and his relationship with eichi is that he offers eichi his friendship, love, and support even though eichi doesn't feel like he deserves it. that's part of the concept behind wataru catching eichi when he's about to fall on the stage in daydream, and it's also like... the entire point of fine. eichi gets these friends he doesn't think he deserves but who wataru knows will make him a better person. this dynamic gets screwed up a bit if eichi asks wataru to help him and wataru only starts helping him after he's been asked. now it's negligible which of the two actually had the idea for wataru to join fine, and eichi doesn't really have any reason to be surprised by wataru's support and help when he does take up the request - first because he asked so clearly he figured he could receive it, and second because the way the whole scenario is structured, eichi doesn't have to wonder what wataru's motivations are. it appears clear that his motive is revenge.
eichi's surprise and confusion around wataru in general is severely undercut by the scenario. like... i don't even like ep link, but let's talk about it for a second. it's no longer surprising at all that eichi doesn't pick up on wataru's love for him in light of blackbird, because anything wataru would have said about being interested in eichi, etc, would have seemed like part of the script they created together, or even like making fun of him. sure, by the time ep link happens, it's been a long time, but it still isn't exactly fair for wataru to be that baffled and feel like eichi is idiotic for not picking up on his feelings when the way their relationship started was - in eichi's mind - with writing out together how eichi would be brought to justice.
tl;dr i enjoyed blackbird and thought it was a cute idea but it screws with my interpretation of the canon thus far enough that it's pretty much fanfic to me. i don't like the way you'd have to reread the characters in light of this info for stories that have been out for many years at this point.

I wanna ask abt your deep understanding on mikaela. I am new to the fandom and just caught up with the manga and mika's attitude changes 180 very frequently... from not trusting guren to trusting guren(is it bc now guren is actually sacrificing him?). From assuring yu that yu was not at fault for leaving mika behind to mika accusing yu that yu chose to leave that day and start a new life.
Thank you for the question. Though at first I was confused. Because I felt like I know nothing about Mikaela as I didn't dive that deep into his character yet. (I prefer the Catastrophe at Sixteen characters) But nevertheless something instantly came to my mind why Mikaela is written the way he is currently. And that's:
He acts the way he does because the story needs him to act like this.
Before chapter 90 the story changes noticable and though we don't know the reasons, it feels like there had been changes made to it or it was made up along the way. Whatever it was, the story we are getting now is not very well thought through and mostly, it doesn't develop from the characters actions but the characters change for the story to got the way it does.
Additionally it's never explained what characters think and they barely talk honestly about it. So we never know why a character changes opinions. In the past we had been able to make up the explainations for a character'a behavior for ourselves. Because it felt consistent, characters seemed to act fitting to their thoughts, believes and goals. But now they don't anymore and we struggle to find explainations.
Is there a reason or pin point for Mika’s change of heart?
Mika had never trusted Guren because he was a human, the kind that could hurt Yuu and he didn't even trust Yuu's squad back then. Whenever there was an opportunity, Mika would make sure to act on his own. He didn't care what would happen to Yuu's friends. And that part was exciting and supported the narrative of Mika doing everything for Yuu's well-being. Because Yuu can only be happy with him. Because the others are only using him - according to Mika.
So his change of heart can only be explained by Mika somehow not believing anymore that they will hurt Yuu or use him... And that's hard to believe if he died protecting Yuu from Guren, isn't it?
The only thing that would give Mika a reason would be the proof that Yuu is in fact save and happy with Guren and his other friends. But apart from Mika deciding before his death that Yuu has found a new family, we don’t get much explanation why Mika would think that out of the sudden. Especially because he always distrusted them.
It might made some sense in the moment Mika knew he was dying unable to keep Yuu save and happy, that he would tell Yuu he’s not alone to protect him from the grief. But after that? When Mika got his memories back through Yuu?
And that might be the point where Kagami thought this would be enough. Mika sees Yuu’s memories and thereby sees how much Yuu cares for the others.
Still, for me this isn’t enough explanation or showing that Mika would become convinced the others wouldn’t hurt Yuu. Just because Yuu liked Guren and Guren had some good features and Yuu enjoyed the time with his friends, it doesn’t mean Mika would just give up on his goal or change his views all of the sudden?
Mika is selfless and Guren isn’t the villain
To me, it makes sense that Mika would want Yuu to leave him behind because his trope is to be selfless in the end. It makes sense for Mika to tell Yuu to leave him behind, if he really was convinced that Yuu would be happier without him. But where is this coming from? What makes him so sure, Yuu would be happier without him now when he was convinced Yuu needed to separate from the other humans before? Especially Guren.
There isn’t a specific reason as explained before. But Kagami somehow doesn’t want to keep Guren as the villain. While he had clearly been a villain for Yuu in the chapters until Mika’s death, he not only reappeared without the horns without any explanation given but then also acted like nothing happened. As if he had never been the one chasing them.
But it doesn't work that way. And I’m saying that as someone that loves Guren. That guy here would have needed consequences. Guren isn't ready for a quick redemption yet and it didn't come with Mika understanding him because of old memories. It doesn't redeem the latest villainous actions like attacking Yuu or killing Mirai.
Instead Guren is one of the good guys again now without much explaination. And to support that narrative, Mika a character that usually is rational has to support that view. Even if it doesn’t necessarily makes sense for him.
And sadly I can't give you a proper explaination. Because every one I would give would be made up by me and not in the story.
It seems like that the story just wanted Yuu to betray his friends so Mika had to switch sides in order for that plot point to work out. And for Guren not to be the bad guy.

1, 11, and 16 for newt + 15, 22, 23, and 27 for vince + 30, 31, and 34 for jamie (sorry if this is too many i just see u tag stuff as them a lot and im v curious abt them! u dont have to do them all if ur not up for it)
TY HEHE there's no need to apologize i absolutely LOVE talking about my ocs ^_^
Newt:
1: What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do? A long, long time. Newt spent most of her life alone in a swamp so she's used to a lot of downtime.
11: How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)? She mostly just stays quiet and hopes/assumes another party member understands. Either that or she'll ask for clarification (usually this is for when i, as her player, is also confused KJFDSS)
16: What makes their stomach turn? Losing or letting her friends down. The thought that something is happening that she doesn't understand [this is currently happening in the campaign shes in lol]. Worrying that her god will abandon her and she won't have the magic she needs to protect her friends anymore.
Vince:
15: How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first? She usually says what's on her mind unless she feels like its Personal or Compromising. She makes an effort to put off a confident, snarky, mysterious vibe but is pretty guarded when it comes to her own feelings.
22: How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? Badly. Especially early on in the story, he can act pretty impulsively when he feels jealous or threatened and can end up hurting someone either by lashing out verbally or physically injuring or even killing someone. He gets a LOT better at this later though. He's still got issues but he's working on it :)
23: How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)? Similar to prev. It starts out as a villain in the story before it gets redeemed. It takes what it wants without any consideration for the people it hurts in the beginning and it does deal with a lot of resentment in its plot arc. but it gets better at dealing with that and its own emotions. eventually.
27: What causes them to feel dread? Her sire (she's a vamp, her sire is Awful and the main reason she is Like That in the beginning) and the thought of having to feel the guilt over the bad things shes done. It takes her a While to be able to let those emotions back in bc she dreads having to feel the remorse. She also has a lot of dread around losing people she cares about.
Jamie:
30: Who do they most regret meeting? GOD THIS IS A HARD ONE. He has a professor that kinda kicks the whole story off by introducing him to the supernatural world. Even though they are a big mentor figure to Jamie, i think he really regrets meeting them sometimes because it completely changed the trajectory of his life. He is now in infinitely more danger and has horrible, painful visions that drive the story. It's not what he expected his life to be like.
31: Who are they the most glad to have met? Yknow what it may be the same person. He has very complicated feelings about the prof. Otherwise probably Marcos :-) They're a really good friend to him and have stuck with him through it all. Also much later the answer might be Vince! She's kinda the worst to start with but post-redemption they eventually get together and vince eventually kinda becomes a weird wife guy :-) they love each other <3
34: How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? Very, very difficult. He blames himeself for a lot of things, even things that are definitely not his fault. Somebody needs to get this guy a therapist.
If you wanna learn more about my Bite Club ocs and their story u can find my masterpost about them here!! I'd love to answer any more questions u have about them or just talk about them in general :3
You can also find out more about Newt here!

that's fair i hadn't really thought about it like that. i still don't like it but i have heard Lucio seems like he is gradually becoming more conflicted about his position so i am tentatively interested to see where things go with him even though he gets on my nerves (maybe i will change my mind on him eventually who knows--)
Aah glad if it gave you a new perspective!
obviously no need to change how you feel about him either, i still think that like just "his way to behave with Sandalphon makes me uncomfortable" is a perfectly fair comment to make. I see an explanation to why i find it compelling, but it doesn't have to change the idea that it can be uncomfortable to sit though
But yeah, Lucio is genuinely growing more conflicted. I think like, after Bahamut basically put him on mute, he probably doubled down on his devotion because he was left completely alone at the time, and no matter what he did, he couldn't get Bahamut's attention back, so i feel like, suddenly taking a swing in the other direction is something that would come with a lot of personal emotional work. The more Lucio is going to be conflicted about his position the more he has to face that the desperate devotion he's really worked hard on for thousands of years actually caused him more harm than good, and i think it's a delicate balance to walk in a sense.
I think that like.... characters who don't have good social basis (bc isolation in this case), and have to unravel extremely deeply fucked up dynamics inside themselves, will never truly do it fully gracefully. Lucio puts on the air of being in control a lot, but he's lost, and as a result, he's not exactly making the right choices because he's still figuring out what next step he should take, since for once he's operating without someone's control over him.
What i mean by that is that, therefore, it's typically the type of characters who, while attempting to finding themselves and walk away from what they've always known, without having the basis to properly behave around people, who therefore ends up hurting a lot of people as they're trying to figure themselves out.
And i think another way to see Lucio's figuring out process is messy is that when Sariel started to talk about freeing Belial, Lucio did actually come to threaten him about keeping those threats outside of the skyrealms... but the moment he saw Sariel's devotion, this desperate need to understand why someone who has been absent from his life and left him to suffer for a while, would still care for him, he probably saw enough of himself that he couldn't begrudge Sariel after that, and it's why he concludes the Maydays thinking he can't in good conscience free Belial, but he can't stop Sariel from seeking answers either, because Lucio wishes for answers as well as to why he's been abandonned yaknow?
and to me it really shows that Lucio doesn't have a strong moral basis to what he's doing anymore. Bahamut made him doubt so much and now everything is on shaky grounds and he's taking steps forward in the complete dark. His morals are stuff he has to question everytime he moves forward. and as he concludes in the reverie, he needs to learn to not think as a Divine Person, but as someone of the Skies, and the people of the Skies end up winning not in spite of their weaknesses, but thanks to them, because they actually make mistakes, learn from them, discover what other choices they have from them.
So Lucio is basically in a situation where.... pretty much, he's allowing himself to test out free will for the first time, and he's so new at it that everything is new, and therefore, he will hurt people on this way because everything is so new to him.
And "he hurts people" is a totally valid reason to be cold toward him, when he ends up insensitive and hurting others. So it's not like you have to change your mindset either and all. Just that, personally, i think him hurting people comes with the fact he has to accept that not working through a plan someone else planned for him will eventually lead him to walk into situations he was never prepared for and therefore do things all wrong, and at least Lucio is constantly learning now that he's decided to walk this path, and is always ready to put things back into perspective.
So it's really interesting to me.

Can we hear about the george fic?
HI ANON THANKS ANON FOR ENABLING ME YOU HAVE FREED ME FROM MY CHAINS
okay so i've wanted to write some sort of fic about george feeling wonky about his career in f1 for a. LONG time. i have outlines for different fics — one where it's an introspection on his bitterness towards lance, one that's more like perfect blue where loses grip on his identity, one that's dialogue heavy and bojack-inspired with existential conversations — but none of them really Clicked and it just ended up becoming drafts on my shelf.
then, i had a very like. peculiar idea of george running away impulsively. like, he outright Quits and fucks off somewhere because he doesn't want to pursue f1 anymore. i have this planned after george has 2 world championships, because i want george to realize how empty he feels after reaching his peak (first win). like, the depression is Real, he really can't find anything worthwhile in f1 and feels trapped and overwhelmed, so he just goes "fuck it!", packs up and isolates himself from everyone.
(i'll put this under the cut because it is Long + intro to the first chapter is here too!!!)
the fic is actually HEAVILY inspired by daremebyday's fic "for all the honest world to feel" with is drag race rpf of trixie and katya (this is an rpf friendly space yes) wherein trixie hits a mental low, lies to her manager about needing time to write an album, then just rings a random friend to bunker up away from LA. it's such a raw and sad and just Real fic, probably one of my favorites (drag race writers are no joke) and i wanted to adopt some of the story elements of it (think of it like, i'm making an au with this as the basis) but some of the central themes and character introspection are much different. i don't intend to plagiarize anything, i promise, but some events and characters will mirror the original fic.
in my fic, george leaves after the imola gp, packing his bags and heading for london. he has no particular plan. there, he accidentally bumps into nicky who is still studying in the london business school, and he allows george shelter for as long as he needs. these two are two sides of the same coin in my potential fic, but for how, you'll just have to wait til i make it. the main reason i picked nicky as george's roommate and main Bestie for the fic is bc 1.) the dynamic seemed interesting since they both have experienced being stuck in the worst possible team in f1 for two years but having to act like nothing's Wrong. i am a SUCKER for two people stuck in bad situations they have to make do in, especially when they become good friends just because they have no choice. 2.) since george is literally throwing away his f1 career, i thought nicky would be an interesting guy to volley with because he chose to study instead of pursuing driving elsewhere.
other factors of this fic include: this is a georgierre fic! because i like georgierre! they're not gonna be the central theme of the fic until like, a while, but if george and nicky are like two sides of the same coin, george and pierre are sort of like narrative foils. in the fic, george doesn't bother informing pierre about running away because he knows pierre wouldn't run away with him. it's not toxic per se but pierre is everything george thinks he's not, and it hurts for him to think about it. pierre's definitely not doing okay though my god, imagine your favorite person in the world cutting contact from you without saying anything. no closure no reassurance no whatever, just gossip about how george somehow ended up with nicky, and you're thinking about what you possibly did wrong
the fic is definitely inaccurate in a sense that, i don't think george can legally do that without fucking up sponsors and contracts and whatnot, but if it's any consolation, toto has picked up on george's defeated mannerisms a year early, so he IS responsible for george being allowed out scot-free. toto's not mad, maybe frustrated but not mad, and the one thing he tells george is that, the only time he will be disappointed is if this decision of his amounts to nothing. if it turns out george was just wasting this privilege of being let out, toto will never allow him back into merc.
so, central theme! george has to figure out what he wants to do. he's literally pressured into making his impulsive little run away scheme something worth it, which is HEAVY, because george is not mentally okay either. he explores it through going around london, talking to nicky, ignoring all the messages from colleagues and family, blah blah.
i have the first half of the fic already outlined, but the second half i still need to work on. the first chapter, though, is finished, and i can give u all a LONG sneakpeak of it (aka the intro):
[The moment George picks up his new iPhone and heads home, he knew it was over.
There's not much of a difference between this phone and his old one. When he turns it on, it displays the default, aurora-like backgrounds Apple utilizes, and it dawns on him for the first time that, he's really doing this.
He adds important contacts from his previous phone, then downloads all his necessary apps which, actually, is not a lot, since he doesn't plan on redownloading any social media. There's the obligatory WhatsApp (although he doesn't bother syncing his old account), Puzzledom (he needs something to keep his jittery hands busy), and Spotify.
Once he manages to find a radio of upbeat songs, he gets packing.
All his clothes are hastily pulled from his hangers and tossed like basketballs into his luggage. All his toiletries are put into little ziploc bags he conveniently prepared last night. He funnels in a couple of pens in a small pocket inside his backpack, then his diary and important documents. He doesn't clean the mess he's made as he fumbles around, too invigorated with this unique kind of adrenaline he's feeling.
Finally, he gets his old phone. He opens up his Notes and copy pastes a few messages he's made days, even weeks before, into some WhatsApp chats.
To his coworkers,
I know this is incredibly sudden, and I apologize, but I won't be racing anymore. Don't worry, I'm not going to kill myself, nor am I going to do something else crazy like join a cult. I am just going away to self-reflect. Please don't send anyone after me, nor look for me yourselves.
Thank you for everything. George Russell out.
To his friends,
I'll disappear for a while— I need to settle some new realizations I had. Not any stupid ones (I know what you're thinking Lando), more life-changing ones. I'm not going to do anything crazy like murder someone (again, looking at you Lando), but I'll get back to you all in a couple of weeks or months. I hope you understand, and bye for now.
To his family,
Hi, I'm very sorry for how sudden this is, but I'm going to take an indefinite time off from everyone to find myself. I won't do anything crazy, and I'm not getting abducted, don't worry. This is none of your faults, and I promise I will get back to you soon.
To his team,
I know this is going to be a huge hassle for all of you, but mentally and emotionally, I cannot continue racing. I am not going to do something horrible, don't worry, but I'll be going away. Please don't look for me.
I need this.
I hope whoever replaces me does well. Thank you to everyone for everything you've done, especially Toto. I wouldn't be here without you all. But respectfully, I feel like I'm missing something, and I'm going to find it. I hope you all can understand, and I hope that I see you again someday.
Use the remainder of my salary to make up for lost net worth. It should be enough. I calculated.
And to Pierre,
I'm sorry. This is not your fault.
I love you.
After a long press and a sigh, George's old phone vibrates violently as it finally shuts down. He thinks he saw a part of Pierre's name displayed in his notifications.
He still brings the phone with him, just in case.
With a suitcase and backpack on hand, he skims different available flights out of France, selects one headed for London, and books a taxi to the airport.]

Ngl i am a little bit tired seeing ppl come up with excuses for why Will was sidelined and receives minimum screentime each season bc supposedly he will receive all of his screentime in the finale. It just makes no sense for your supposed centre character to receive minimum screentime for 4 seasons straight. And i would agree that its all intentional if the show doesnt follow the fanservice agenda with giving more screentime to characters like Steve and Dustin and Hopper bc they are liked by the audience meanwhile Jonathan and Will and even Joyce sometimes have been shat on for a long time. There is no way to fix this only in the finale season. I dont want to sound like a hater but it is really screaming bad writing.
it's annoying because on the one hand i like the story of will being replaced by el after vanishing and i like to think of that being reflected even in the fabric of the show. because she did replace him, people (mlvns) think of mike el lucas and dustin as the core four because she took his place while he was in the upside down and then started dating mike which is obviously what will wants, and because if it all goes as planned season five will make people see that will was just as important all along (a girl can dream) (i don't mean in terms of screentime). i think that story's very fun, cruel summer season 1 (something i've said before in the notes of this post from a while ago) except the girl who replaces will does it without meaning to and she helps save his life so it's very different. on the other hand...as i said in april...
the byers being sidelined? for will i guess you can rationalize it and come up with great and convincing meta reasons as to why his character was sidelined in seasons 3 and 4 (which, yeah, fascinating, i will still hate it ten years from now, no matter how important to season 5 will is), but what about jonathan? what about joyce? how does one justify the fact that winona went from being the reason 75% of people older than 15 started watching the show to having less screentime than fucking jason in season 4? it is annoying when people act like byler endgame will make everything right and will make stranger things a perfect show because it really won’t
also i'm not sure about joyce having less screentime than jason i actually just saw people say that and i can't find a s4 screentime chart to confirm lol. but yeah the thing is...when it's all of the byers not just will getting sidelined to make room for characters like steve it's like. this is not my stranger things cruel summer-like story (that i admittedly made up) where will got replaced in his own life while he was kidnapped anymore. it's fanservice and it's steve somehow lowkey becoming the face of the show because shawn levy apparently loves joe keery so much lol. and of course fans will make the show their own and steve is not the most important character when you watch the actual show but idk. i just don't understand why they let it get to this point was jonathan not your self insert underdog miserable guy who gets the girl when the show started like why did you stop liking him when he got the girl😭😭 it just sucks because whether you like it or not the byers made the show it was them and the kids that made season one what it was. i know the will and jonathan stuff is still there (in season 4 because in season 3 despite spending a lot of time together they...have nothing?) but oh my god the joyce and jonathan relationship is...like do the writers know that jonathan is joyce's son before being will's father figure. i think the parentification stuff is great and very interesting and i hope he doesn't go to emerson OR lenora but oh my god. i just don't understand because it's RIGHT THERE in the show but why don't they do more with it. it's just insane to me. he's not all alone out there in the world but he very much is and i don't know how much of it is joyce being a struggling mother and how much is the writers not giving a fuck. do you think joyce and jonathan will have even just one conversation in season 5. that would be crazy.
the will getting replaced à la kate wallis in cruel summer and that being reflected by his absence even when he's back from being in another dimension and from being possessed thing i'm talking about i both like and dislike. because some of it feels very intentional (cf first post i linked) but some of it really doesn't, especially when the sidelining is a problem with all the byers like i just mentioned. and the end result is that a lot of people are like no will isn't important at all yes he's the one who disappeared and his vanishing kickstarted the show (some of them don't even say that they're like el opened the gate so it's her show WELL i'm very sorry guys but had will not disappeared mike never would've fallen in love with her in her yellow benny's burgers t-shirt so thank you will as always) but the only thing he does is cry and be gay and have a bowlcut now so he doesn't matter, which is always annoying. and it's not the el show but it kinda is the el show yk, do i think we could do with a little less el sometimes yes but it's not really el's massive screentime that bothers me because again, i think the willel juxtaposition swapping places thing is very interesting. what i cannot in good conscience defend is the steveification and simultaneous debyersification of stranger things i just can't!
and as i mentioned in the tags of my post from april and like you said, i think people are setting themselves up for disappointment if they think season 5 being will heavy is gonna fix it. it's too late. he probably won't get as much screentime and focus as will fans have come to expect because stranger things is not skam lol. i don't even know how much screentime would make it fair and would make people happy? i think you can enjoy the meta posts and reasons that read like excuses while still wishing they hadn't sidelined him that much. because the posts and the discussions are great but i also like having a good time while watching the show and it's not just tumblr willuminatis that feel disappointed by how little will we got these past seasons, a lot of people feel that way. at the end of the day i still think will is one of the most important characters and i think season five will reflect that but i still wish season three and four had been different in the will department. and i don't expect season five to make it up to me because it never will like seasons three and four will forever be like this! you can't convince me they couldn't have done them in a way that didn't accidentally reveal too early that he isn't gonna end up gay sad alone and dead for the crime of being gay or that he actually matters in the supernatural side of things you know.

I.S.B.T.P.K.F.T.S moments (chapter 2)
fic link written by @tavtarnish.
I want to add something from chapter 1: where soap says he'll give ghost, quote "the military's wet dream of a sergeant"
~ he's gonna do it our of spite. not for himself, but rather for /himself/. he's gonna do it to spite the terribleness that is himself. like 'im a terrible person but maybe its a little less bad bc i maybe did some good'
chapter 1 chapter 2
waking up on the floor
~ honestly... yeah. happens more often than i'd like to admit
him missing some part of his old self, but also not, but also sometimes he does
~ that might not have made sense, but in my head that ^^^ statement is perfectly clear. like I wish I was like my younger self, but at the same time I worked so hard to be at this point so I don't really miss the old me. tho it would be nice not to have the back problems.
him waking up late
~ it's such a normal thing to happen, but at the same time i feel like every time every time I have a bad night, it's just setup for the next day. it happens every time without fail, maybe there is a reason behind that, but im not gonna think too hard about it. anyway from his standpoint the day is going great /sar. like so far he's (1) woken up on the floor, meaning his night was definitely terrible (2) it ruined his neck... so that's fun (3) woken up late. even if it's not too late it messes everything up. I won't be counting anymore of his morning mishaps , I only did this time because these three (3) things most definitely happened withing 1-2 minutes of waking up
automatically foregoing the hair for his teeth (or doing any of his morning routine in general)
~ first thing's first, the way he skips his hair (which is obviously an important part of his character) so he could brush his teeth. he only realizes that it'll be a problem when it's too late. second thing, honestly, as embaressing as it is for me to admit... if this happened to me i'd 100% just going 'woe is me' and end up doing nothing until I absolutely had to get up. so I admire that about him.
the way it's Gaz behind him instead of Ghost's usual presence, and the way he's glad about it
~ it'd be hard to Face ghost so soon after yesterday's interaction, not to mention that night. plus he did commit to making big changes, so why not one more. I mean his routine is already fucked, and he's resolved to be a better Sergent, so why not one more big change. as a person who automatically tries their best to avoid their problems, well honestly it'd be relieving to think that I don't immediately have to face my problem.
Ghost shows up, and gaz and ghost on the topic of his hair
~ of course ghost is here, when one goes the other follows. it's ghost AND soap not OR. anyway, them talking about his hair. probably his most distinguishing feature, that he most definitely takes much pride in. Gaz's statement didn't hurt, it was teasing and friendly but ghost's? yeah that one stung. for one it was /Ghost/ that said it, his best friend, his favorite person, his- his- well it didn't matter who he was to him other than his lieutenant. not only that but literally less than 6 hours ago he decided he'd be a better Sergent, and now Ghost his lieutenant is telling him that he's already failing at that. why can't he get anything right? why is he so bad at what he's supposed to be good at? it's not even that difficult to take care or, it would take two seconds. why couldn't he have just done it?
the general topic of his hair in this chapter
~ I feel like it's kinda a small detail, it's only mentioned a handful of times, and all in passing moments. maybe i'm reading too much into this, but it just feels so important and personal... or maybe it's giving a little insight on how he's feeling, messy, unkept, perhaps a little disastrous.
/that/ feeling coming back because ghost is here, and him refusing to acknowledge it
~ again he doesn't even know why he's feeling it so why bother acknowledging
him refusing to banter with ghost, or to make jokes with him
~ i guess the first step to this whole changing thing was to be on time and look professional (or at least presentable) which he's already messed up. but second would probably be to act professional, especially around your superior. this only works if you don't mess up... so don't mess up. this goes for jokes to deflect as well, so go ahead and scrap those. denying himself something that he wants and enjoys doing... ouch
ghost's confusion at soap's change of character and soap's refusal to see it
~ "what's wrong with soap? why isn't he talking? is he sick? is it the wound? did somebody say something? maybe it's just a bad morning, I mean he /did/ neglect to take care of his hair this morning." why would ghost be confused about me not speaking? if anything he's probably happy i'm not running my mouth. for once im acting my rank. this chapter is HEAVY on those self-esteem issues
gaz being the one to relieve the tension
~ wait- hang on that- that's not right. right? it's soap's job to do that it /was/ soap's job to do that... not anymore. oh... I guess that /is/ Gaz's job now...
soap's desperation to just /tell/ someone about it. all of it. and yet still he hides it.
~ of course he wants to tell someone because who is he if not a nuisance. Wanting to push his problems onto someone else, Wanting to bother other people. And he refuses to tell anyone because, again, that's not what his personality is supposed to be. That's not who /he's/ supposed to be. that want to just spill, to have somebody hear you so it's not just in your head
the way he cannot stand to be around anybody, but swallows his discomfort
~ it's all just too much, too much, too much. he wants to leave, he needs to get out of here. he can't breath. he's gonna be sick. but he can't. it's not what johnny would have done, johnny would be ecstatic to be around gaz and ghost. soap maybe would have, if he was nothing but a name, no personality, where disapproval didn't matter to him; but he isn't soap, nor can he be. Sergent Mactavish can't leave either, not if he is to be the disciplined little soldier he needs to be. right now he's none of these people, right now he's john; the overwhelmed teenager. and john is trying to fit into an outfit that doesn't fit, the sleeves are too long, the shoulders too tight, the legs too short. but at least he doesn't have to choose which one to force on. johnny has no energy to come out, and soap is buried; lost in the mess that is his mind, that leaves Sergent Mactavish. scraping the bottom of the barrel he finds the will to muster up a hopefully convincing smile. this moment is so very real to me, it's something i've done way too many times before. and refusing to voice his discomfort? not only because it ruins the mood, and perhaps because he almost feels like he deserves that discomfort.
his excuse
~ really? his alarm? /that/ was the best he could come up with? he knows it's a bullshit excuse. that's the equivalent of "just tired", tho unlike me, Ghost knows that it's a BS response. he knows ghost knows. of course the man does, just like soap knows ghost's tells, ghost knows soap's tells.
"be a good soldier"
~ gah-damn! that's EXACTLY how I talk to myself when im in this type of headspace
AGAIN WITH THE HAIR!!!
~ yes im freaking about the hair again. I DON'T KNOW WHY. his hair is long, he's neglected it a bit... just like he's neglecting himself?
soap being overly formal
~ it causing the silence between them into something uncomfortable as if something has changed. because something /has/ changed... ghost clearly doesn't like the change in his Sergent.
his nervous tics
~ the way he has to focus so hard on not doing them, and how he almost defaults back to bootcamp posture.
the tension between them
~ only being broken by price, but it still not rubber-banding back to their former status
him changing his showing personality with price's arrival
~ I do the same thing. in every situation, good or bad, differing friend groups, ect. the way he even 'blends' personalities in a way. he's only doing so to avoid questioning.
him being formal with ghost, him throwing himself entirely into his work
~ the way he automatically switches to formal setting with ghost. I am now seeing that this is the RSD coming into play, where he's seeking ghost's approval or at least not attracting his ire. and him completely focusing on his task so he doesn't get to think too much about how ghost is watching him. I find that if you look busy people generally won't bother or disturb you.
look I probably missed a ton seeing as how my prime writing hors is between midnight and 3am, and it is very much not that time right now... and I also had people trying to peep my writing which is awkward lol
anyway if you see typos... no you don't. if i find more stuff from this chapter I'll add it to the beginning of the next part

Ethan Hawke on creativity:
"Most people don't think about poetry, right? They have a life to live, and they're not really that concerned - until their father dies, they go to a funeral, you lose a child. Somebody breaks your heart, they don't love you anymore. And all of a sudden, you're desperate for making sense out of this life, and 'Has anybody ever felt this bad before?'
Or the inverse! Something great. You meet somebody and your heart explodes. You love them so much you can't even see straight. You know, you're dizzy! 'Did anybody feel like this before? What is happening to me?'
And that's when art is not a luxury, it's actually sustenance."

Emet-Selch is canonically a character that used to be very close to the WoL (or rather their former incarnation). Someone that CANONICALLY complained but always came to help. Someone who cared so much he, over 12 millenia, tried to bring back millions of people.
Was he a villain in the end? Sure! But he TELLS you why. He tells you that he feels, loves, grieves. Even after he managed to convince himself that nobody around him is even "alive" and can thus be killed without remorse, DESPITE THAT, he wants to hope that there's another way.
That YOU, the WoL, as the reincarnation of someone he cared deeply for, can make the difference. He could've killed you so, so often. He doesn't. Because he *cares*, he wants you to understand, so he explains and works with you and shows you what happened and the why.
This is all told and shown in the game, btw, that's not fanon.
Emet-Selch is an excellent continuation of Hades - saying one thing and doing another. He cares for Azem and WoL, deeply. Does it excuse his actions? No. But it explains them. He doesn't kill because he wants to and because he relishes power. He kills to restore his WORLD.
If you were told you had to trample down thirteen ant hills to save the world, your family, your loved ones, everyone you know, to make those insignificant ants the people they used to be - you would, too.

If the latest episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi shows anything then it’s the pure horror, terror and soul-ripping despair Darth Vader brings to the galaxy.
And I don’t mean the scene where he drags Obi-Wan into the fire, bc that’s, like… yeah sure, he’s petty and vengeful and so full of hatred and anger, but that’s personal. That’s him and Obi-Wan, of course he’s vengeful and cruel there.
But that scene before.
Where he walks through the village, killing people when he passes them for no reason other than… killing. Trying to get a reaction of the man he assumes is there. The father he rips through the window and chokes in the air, the child rushing to try and help his dad whose neck he snaps. The woman he drags face-down through the sand while she flails. Holy fuck. Imagine you’re living in the galaxy and one day, the Empire comes and takes over. And the Force-sensitive people they have are broken and cruel and they maim and threaten and are horrible enough. And then comes Darth Vader. And you just know that NOTHING is safe. Nothing will ever be safe again. You can be a loyalist and still be dead the next second just because… no because. For no reason. Nothing is safe.

I can't get over how GOOD Andor is. They are not making "episodes", they are making a STORY and dividing this into episodes. And it's so, so good. The characterization is amazing, the Empire is really and truly BAD and fascist and horrible, and the rebellion is ... not heroic clean awesomeness. It's dirty and doing what needs to be done and it's not easy. Or always morally good. It's "oppression breeds rebellion" and using that. Holy shit.
And yes, I know the whole thing of "Disney is actually bad etc blabla" and YES, there is a problem, but we're operating within a system of capitalism and rising fascism, and I truly believe that the message of Andor is important.

6: which ship fans are the most annoying?:
I honestly don’t care enough about shipping to have any specific takes (ace spectrum swagger) but like if I had to choose I think sn*tchnessa and sn*tchmoon just due to you know Vanessa being his abuser and sn*tchmoon puts a bad taste in my mouth due to bad past experiences is all ((censoring them so they don’t show up in search results) tho there are a few others that just personally bug me but only bc my own hc’s clash w them like when ppl ship characters that I have as siblings or family in my own au when they aren’t canonically so like I said that’s more personal and not on the ppl shipping them/I don’t see it as annoying or nothing like that) oh and obviously pr*ship shit that should go without saying but sadly with a franchise like ahit with the main characters being children and one of those children has a cut adult design people will be freaks :(
9: worst part of canon:
I’ve said this before but it boils down to a few really really small nitpicks 1: conductor should’ve had a better reason to want the time piece bc his motivation doesn't make near as much sense as grooves, 2: they should have kept the cut cutscenes of mu in subcon and the cast talking about Hattie at the end (and made hats diary a prominent thing and not an Easter egg) because all of those help with characterization/showing POVs and also bc mu kinda gets forgotten so having her show up in the middle would help remind players of her being in the plot/collecting TPs, and 3: have an option where mu should have been the one to fix everything at the end not Hattie like a multi choice thing/so she can redeem herself at least a little bit idk it’s a undertale pacifist endingcore thing
10: worst part of fanon:
uhhhhh honestly idk just bc a lot of my issues aren’t even issues/popular things anymore and even then I don’t remember a lot of em, but off the top of my head is mischaracterization of snatcher and hat, the woobification/sexualization of Vanessa, and the over abundance of everyone just copying maks aus back in the day rather than doing more original aus/hcs (tho all these issues I think arent near as prominent nowadays thankfully tho that might be bc I don’t look at fan stuff much anymore/had blocked a lot of ppl that perpetuated these issues I had, the only thing I can think of that is still kinda an issue is other characters being overshadowed but that can’t really be fixed oof) (the last one abt mak is actually I think the reason I made aau back in the day in the first place bc everyone was kinda doing the same thing, tho that wasn’t BAD I just wished there was more variety in hcs or the like etc which did end up happening so yayyyy!! :3)
