Ten years to the day. With over 150 artists coming together, it’s by far since exceeded the boundaries any backyard pop-up could facilitate. At the time of our call, Beatrice, true to the nature with which the festival was founded upon, was wearing head-to-toe designs made by friends and those she supports. “Even to my underwear.” . Touching on community outreach with @beatricevalenzuela. . It can feel a lot like the overwhelming to-do list you set up for yourself, but never got around to doing. Giving is so intrinsically tied in knowing, and being able to take care of yourself first. You cannot give what you do not have. In establishing that you yourself are coming from a place of strength and alignment, only then can you be there for others in the same way. . Some simple pointers to help identify avenues through which you can expand on your community outreach - . 1.Grab pen and paper. Note. . 2.In what ways, and where, can you give, and allocate resources to (volunteer, event planning, raising awareness, food co-op, social media, marketing, financial aid)? . 3.What causes are of importance to you? . 4.Identify organizations / individuals that advocate for this. . 5.Reach out to said organizations / individuals to see where you can be of support. . A strong foundation makes for a solid and sustainable structure. .
