The complete base BG2 party roster in Darkest Dungeon style!
Some of them were used in this scene
I thought that the stylisation is way too fun to limit it to my in-game party (and besides, I sometimes switch party members anyway).
The models (sans my Charname, and including background with Athkatla sewers and Othyugh) are downloadable and usable under CC BY-NC-SA.
download via st.ash and via google disk (maybe I'll find a way to host in somewhere else later). Enjoy!

viconia devir denied lolth because the goddess demanded a child sacrifice. her brother sacrificed himself for her, and she fled to the alien surface in order to survive. she was forced into sexual slavery and escaped only because the slaver died. at one point, she found a farm to eke out a peaceful existence and was tortured and buried alive by her neighbor, who she thought of as her friend. throughout her entire life, she is constantly hunted by both lolth's followers and racist surface-dwellers who wanted to hurt and kill her
like, in a game about overcoming your past, breaking free of the powers that've shackled you, viconia could've been SUCH an interesting NPC ally. what's even more insane is that it's clear that minthara's writers took inspiration from viconia's story. both of them escaped the cults that took advantage of them. we could've had interactions between the two women! we could've had viconia sympathize with astarion's plight as spawn! viconia did NOT deserve her rewrite into a flat, boring villain for shadowheart's arc

Faerûn is always in danger and no one talks about it
I’ve been thinking about this for a while but the canon events within DnD are insane and if you’re long lived like Elves or Vampires many of them have seen some shit. Astarion may have been 30 when he turned into a Vampire but during his time alive he’s lived through the events of every single Baldur’s Gate game. Elminster has lived through several apocalyptic events and taken part in several of them, just before this an entire city was sucked into Avernus in an attempt to forcibly recruit more souls to the fight against Hell in Zariel’s army. Some of them saw Karlach fighting in the Blood Wars and the refugees will mention it. Some Elves are old enough to have witness Gods being put in time out by being made mortal and walk among men, at this same time The Dead Three were attacked by assassins and were killed (don’t worry they got better) Imagine how numb the long lived races are to the world nearly coming to and end or a city being spontaneously sucked into hell.
It’s no wonder Astarion is so carefree with death and suffering considering the several near apocalypses he lived through. I’m not sure how old Halsin is but even he has seen some shit in his lifetime. How does everyone in this world not have PTSD? The trope of a Tragic Backstory is the most believable thing with the frequency of civilizations being in peril in this world.

There is a cure for vampirism!
I haven't finished playing Baldur's Gate 3 yet, so I don't know how Larian handles Astarion. I'm currently somewhere in the middle of Act 3, I've done his personal quest, so I'm getting there. However, there's something I've been thinking about since the start of the game, the moment I learned that Astarion is a vampire spawn. There is a cure!
Warning: Major spoilers for Baldur's Gate 2!
I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet. Maybe I've just missed it. I have to put it out there because it's gnawing at me. There is a solution!
There are a lot of variables to the story of Gorion's Ward (GW), so I'm not going to speak for everyone, but at some point in the story of Baldur's Gate 2, GW's love interest is kidnapped by a powerful vampire, Bodhi, and turned into a vampire spawn. However, GW and their friends defeat Bodhi and in her very lair find an ancient tome with information on how to restore a vampire spawn, bring them fully back to life.
Another great thing is that, at that point, you may have Jaheira with you - I did - so she would know of the solution and could provide this information to Tav's party. Surely, a Harper would even keep a tome of such importance, or GW, raised in Candlekeep, would bring it to one of the greatest libraries there is, especially after it had saved their loved one's life. The tome would be invaluable to them.
What needs to be done should be simple enough: Take the heart of the master vampire who turned the victim and bring it to a temple of Amaunator (There's one in the Umar Hills, at the very least, even if it was falling apart a hundred years ago.) together with the spawn. GW's love interest had to be delivered dead because they were fully under control of their vampire master and I imagine also because of the game's limitations - the spawn just wouldn't follow even when charmed. But I see no reason it wouldn't work with a living spawn.
Pray.
???
Profit!

"In the arms of the Sun god were the infected placed, and the hearts of their dark masters were laid there with them. Blood did burn, and the dead returned, but not as undead or unliving, but alive and freed from taint."
GW's love interest was brought back to life perfectly fine. There was no catch. No side effects.
Now pardon me if I'm being redundant and Baldur's Gate 3 deals with it in some other way. I just had to put this out there, because it'd been driving me insane, having this in my head since starting the game. The whole damn time.
But anyway, here, for all your happy ever after headcanon needs, in case it is needed!
