Kelvin Mercer (born August 17, 1969) one-third of my favorite rap group De La Soul. The producer, the rapper, is more commonly known by his stage name Posdnuos or Simply Pos. Pos brings clever lyrical work when he steps to the mic, which is the perfect addition to the group. He plays a big part in the Native Tongue movement of hip hop. I enjoy his lyrical work and how it works with Dave. I saw him and the other members of De La Soul with Gorillaz last fall. De La Soul recently released all their music on all streaming services. Since the loss of Dave, he and Maceo still keep him in their hearts and minds. Pos is considered one of the most consistent rappers.

At least, that’s what his kids think after watching one of his movies, according to the Grey’s Anatomy alum. While exclusively chatting with E! News about his partnership with Kidde’s Cause for Alarm campaign, Williams shared that son Maceo, 7, and daughter Sadie, 8, were absolutely floored when they saw him in his recently-released superhero flick, Secret Headquarters. “It was very cool for them to be able to actually see the outcome of this thing that dad went off and did for two months in a different state,” he shared “To watch that come full circle is nice for the kids. They haven’t been that excited since I did Sesame Street!” And his kids were a big reason as to why Williams took on the role. Next, long time Bodzin collaborator and companion Marc Romboy makes ‘Ix’ into a tense tech tool that balances on a knife-edge as menacing bass roams and rolls below.įrom there, Cocoon team and live specialists Extrawelt make ‘Blue Giant’ into a spooky minimal cut that is full of haunting atmosphere, festival headlining Second State pair Pan-Pot then offer lots of tense groove and sombre machine melodies on their version of ‘Zulu.’ In the second half there are dark remixes from Max Cooper, intense synth jams from Agents of Time, typically beautiful and musical offerings from Dominik Eulberg, tripped out techno rollers from Gabriel Ananda and two digital only remixes of ‘Birth’ that are deep and inviting from Super Flu and clean, reflective and soothing from Marc Romboy. Influential Crosstown Rebels act Fur Coat then tackle ‘Singularity’ and cook up a brooding, elongated main room track that locks you into its groove and never lets you go. Things kick off with Ellum Audio boss and Shall Ocin, who flip ‘Powers of Ten’ into a serene and slow burning track full of spiritual synth lines and heavenly pads.
