‘Isang Daan’, itinanghal ng Filipino Drama 2024

Makalipas ang apat na taon, muling nagbalik ang Filipino Drama sa entablado nang itanghal nila ang dulang Isang Daan, noong Nobyembre 30 sa Narra Function Hall.

Ang Isang Daan na isinulat ni Liza Magtoto ay unang itinanghal sa Virgin Labfest 9 noong 2013 at muling itinanghal sa Virgin Labfest X bilang bahagi ng revisited na mga dula noong 2014.

Sa direksyon nina Wynelle Llaguno at Abbie Cuaresma at sa pamamatnubay ni Ginoong Carlo Pineda, binigyang buhay ng Filipino Drama (FD) ang kwento nina Ting (Gabby Romero), isang balikbayang ipinagmamalaki ang kalyeng ipinangalan sa kanyang Katipunerong lolo sa tuhod, at anak niyang si Bituin (Alexa Natividad), isang teenager na hindi maunawaan kung bakit nararapat niyang pahalagahan ang “legacy” ng kanilang pamilya. Nang makitang titibagin ang kalye at gagawing bagong highway ng trapong si Mayor Lenlen Manera (Lexzyn Mejia), nauwi sa isang mahaba at nakakatawang laban para sa kalsada, karapatan, at kasaysayan ang kanilang paglalakbay sa pakikilahok ng iba pang kasapi ng komunidad.

Panghuling proyekto ng FD 2024 ang nasabing produksyon, at dito ipinamalas ng mga mag-aaral ang kanilang mga natutunan sa isang semestreng paghahanda at workshop sa pag-arte. Ayon kay Lexzyn Mejia na gumanap bilang Mayor Lenlen Manera, maraming aspeto ang kanyang pinagtuunan ng pansin upang mabigyan ng hustisya ang nasabing karakter lalo pa at hindi niya inaasahan ang oportunidad na ito.

“Isa sa mga kinaaayawan ng henerasyon natin yung mga pulitikong tulad ni Mayora na kurakot at makasarili kaya hindi agad ako naka-relate sa gusto niyang ipaglaban. Gayunpaman, masasabi kong worth it naman lahat ng practices at trial and errors na ginawa ko upang makuha yung personality niya. Nakatulong ang mga exercises sa emotions at control dahil talagang kinailangan namin ito sa pagsasagawa ng comedic play. Sa industriya ng teatro, sinasabing mahirap magsagawa ng mga komedyang dula, pero naging mas madali ito para sa akin at sa klase ng FD dahil lahat kami ay nagtulungan at nag-contribute upang mapasaya ang aming mga manonood,” dagdag pa ni Mejia.

Ayon naman kay Wynelle Llaguno, direktor ng FD 2024, isa sa pinakamalaking hamon sa pagsasagawa ng produksyon ang iskedyul dahil sa dami ng iba pang inaasikaso ng bawat isa sa kanila. “Pero masaya ako, at sobrang proud sa FD kasi kahit ganito ‘yung naging sitwasyon namin, kitang-kita ang dedikasyon ng bawat isa. Lahat may inisyatibong lumampas sa tungkuling iniatang sa kanila, para lang mairaos namin ‘yung play..… Masasabi kong nalampasan namin ang bawat problema, malaki man o maliit, na aming kinaharap dahil kasama namin ang isa’t isa,” pagkukwento niya.

“Gaya nga ng sabi sa amin ni Sir Carlo: mawala lamang ang isa, buwag na kaming lahat. Ang produksyong nasaksihan ng aming mga manonood ay itinaguyod hindi lamang ng isa, kundi ng dalawampung mag-aaral ng Filipino Drama 2024,” dagdag pa ni Llaguno. // nina Ria Bautista at Rachelle Torralba

Sa dagitab ng kanyang mata, nasilayan niya ang liwanag ng bituin na bumabalot sa madilim na kalangitan. (In the sparkle of her eyes, he glimpsed the light of the stars enveloping the dark sky.)

Sapantaha

refers to someone's hunch or intuition.

Bagamat hindi niya ito maipaliwanag, ramdam niya sa kanyang sapantaha na mayroong kakaibang kaganapan sa kanilang paligid. (Though he couldn't explain it, he felt in his intuition that there was something unusual happening around them.)

Asotea

balcony built above the ground floor

Nakadungaw sa asotea, namangha siya sa tanawin ng kalikasan na abot-tanaw mula sa itaas ng kanilang tahanan. (Peering from the balcony, she marveled at the vista of nature stretching out before them from the top of their home.)

Aligwas

progress towards success.

Matapos ang matagal na panahon ng pag-aaral at pagpupunyagi, natamo niya ang aligwas. (After a long period of study and effort, she achieved success.)

Kalinaw

peace; tranquility

Sa gitna ng kaguluhan at ingay ng lungsod, nahanap niya ang kalinaw sa kaniyang mga kaibigan. (In the midst of the chaos and noise of the city, he found peace with his friends.)

Galimgim

loneliness; melancholy

Sa paglisan ng kaniyang mga kaibigan at pamilya, dumaloy ang galimgim sa kaniyang puso. (With the departure of her friends and family, a sense of melancholy flowed into her heart.)
