hey, it's leverage anon back at it again! do you think roy and keeley crossed paths previously in this au, maybe on opposite sides of a job where roy was hired to protect something keeley was trying to steal (and keeley wins obvi)? or do you think they've only heard of each other through word of mouth and when they actually meet, it's like the spiderman meme with them pointing at each other like "ROY KENT???" "KEELEY???"
Oooohhhhh
I do think that at first it's in the same vein as Ted Lasso, where they know of each other, they've moved in similar circles for years, their names are all over London but they've just never had occasion to meet.
I think the spiderman meme comes screeching into play when they have a Rashomon Job moment where they both realize they foiled each other's heist going after the same golden scepter on the same night and they're both like, "THAT WAS YOU?!!"
In Keeley's defense she was undercover as a waiter so of course she was rocking her Bjork wig with the purple stripe so people wouldn't take a closer look at her face. And there was this guy there, a real proper intellectual type, with the glasses and the sweater, and the look he kept giving her! Piercing eyes, like they could see deep into her soul. She was so rattled that once she went into the vents to make her move, she didn't want to come back out!
In Roy's defense he was at a low place, making the switch from hitting to retrieval specialist, and his hair was like. So long. So curly. Bushy beard. And he was wearing glasses he stole from a guy in the car park (and busy cursing himself because fuck he might actually need glasses), and he had a cozy nerd sweater on so like. Everyone was looking but it wasn't because they were looking for Roy Kent, they were looking for a different reason, you feel?
Meanwhile Rebecca's like "you BOTH were trying to steal my ex-husbands tacky golden scepter under my nose? While I was trying to steal it?" And that confuses Ted because, "If you were already married to him, why would you need to steal it? It's technically yours at that point," and Rebecca is like, "Exactly. I was married to him, Ted. Of course I wanted to steal it."
Meanwhile Beard is just side-eyeing Jamie who ain't said shit.
And the longer Keeley, Rebecca, and Roy go round and round the only thing they agree on is there was this skinny little teenage kid at the museum like on a fucking field trip and he was annoying like he was just constantly underfoot no matter where they went-
"Oh, I know who you mean! He was rather sweet. Kept asking for a glass of champagne- cheeky little thing."
"Was that the one who kept wandering off from the pack? Insufferable. Every time I thought I had an opening, security would interrupt to tell me they found a child wandering into the cordoned off areas. By the time I had a chance to intercept the stupid sceptor, someone had replaced it with a champagne bottle."
No, he was fucking annoying and he dogging Roy's heels and asking Roy questions about Rothko and Hockney ("It's not about the composition. The colors are richer because of the depth of the layers" and "Because he's a twat," respectively). Roy finally thought he got lucky when he nudged the kid towards a buffet table and he started scarfing down food but then the kid almost choked to death and Rebecca does remember that actually she had to take him in the back so they could make sure his parents wouldn't sue have some medical doctor guest take a look at him.
And now Beard and Ted are both just looking at Jamie, and Ted has a bit of a smile on his face, and he's just like, "Jamie? Do you have anything you want to share with the class?"
Jamie winces and admits it was his one and only cyber heist - drawing up a fake school record to get in with a field trip, writing a little program that would temporarily disable the security cameras and motion sensors- he'd done it as a dare to himself to see if he could do it. And- "I never technically stole it. Got as far as stashing it in my school bag, and then the bag went missing. Lost my homework and everything."
And now it's Ted's turn to look apologetic, "Well I am awfully sorry about your homework, but let me tell you- that essay you wrote on Napoleon? Really good stuff. If I was your teacher, I'd have given you an A."
And that's the record scratch moment because Ted? Turns out he was the """medical doctor""" who volunteered to go with Jamie, but was actually there to keep an eye on things for his old security company.
Also they shouldn't beat themselves up to bad about losing because the scepter was a fake. See, once he found it ("in a highschooler's backpack no less!" "no, Ted, we don't call them that here") he got to thinking that the whole thing was mighty suspicious so he did what any normal midwest man would do if he thought he was being taken for a fool -- he called up a friend he knew who'd been to prison and asked if there was a way to tell if gold was fake.
"Lick it."
"Pardon?"
"Lick the scepter. If it's real gold you'll be able to tell."
"...Okay, but for the record I just want it to be acknowledged how much trust exists in this relationship."
And that's how they all (failed) to steal Rupert Mannion's (fake) golden scepter (what a twat).

what are your thoughts on SOS!! favorite tracks so far?
very cute!! not sure if it's better than ctrl tho. it's 23 tracks long, which doesn't really work in its favour, but i still enjoyed it. i saved seek & destroy, low, blind, notice me, gone girl, smoking on my ex pack, ghost in the machine, F2F (avril vibes but), special, far, shirt, good days and forgiveless.
my top 5 rn is probably forgiveless (more girls need to sample bjork and by girls i mean doja cat. some of the delivery on the track reminded me of her for some reason lol), low, gone girl, shirt (a hit for a reason), far/ghost in the machine. HOWEVER, it is important to mention i listened to the album in full like once, so it might be a bit inaccurate. overall, a good project! a bit too bloated, but it's fine, there are enough good songs for me to make my own perfect album :) god, what a good year for music !

2022 listening
I don't usually do this, but I'm going to make a music of 2022 list. It's funny, my spotify top 100 and my actual music app (musicolet for android, highly recommend) are very different so there's no point in posting either of them. There were a lot of individual songs, but I am still the kind of person who listens to albums from back to front. Going roughly from most recent to least...
spotify playlist (I tried to make a bandcamp playlist but it wouldn't work. :( if the album is available on bandcamp there is a link in the text)
Redcar les adorables etoiles by Christine and the Queens
I found Christine through the COLORS music channel on youtube. She is apparently a mega-star in France but I don't know how many people have heard of her over here. She sings in both English and French with a David Bowie / Annie Lennox electropop + funk style that I adore. Her previous album "La vita nuova" was full of quite sad raw lyrics, but the theme of this album is more romance. "My birdman" gets stuck in my head regularly.
Andor Original Soundtrack (Vol.1-3) by Nicholas Britell
I could gush all day about this show, but the soundtrack alone is very very good. Deep orchestral stuff with lots of hidden motifs and themes. Sometimes soundtracks for very good shows, which fit the show perfectly, are meh on their own, but this one really holds up. It's worth saying: none of the usual star wars themes or references appear in this album at all. If you listen to the main title theme in Vol. 1 and like it you will probably like the whole thing.
Awakening:Sleeping by MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS
A Japanese band that I believe had one or two anime songs at least a decade ago and has since became more indie. I was super happy to buy all their albums on bandcamp after having pirated them a decade or more ago. They started out with shoegaze / heavy alt rock instrumental, balls to the wall fast guitar and drums, added more vocals and went a bit more pop with their 2018 album No New World and have come back to a happy balance of both. "No need ft. Keita Ebina" is a great sample of the raw feeling that I love from them that feels like they're just on the edge of going out of control.
Profound Mysteries I-III by Royksopp
Royksopp said they were going to retire and I was sad I'd never see them in concert. Then they came back and released a ton of songs and went on tour but it's covid. Infuriating! But seriously it's kind of scary how some of these tracks are so Royksopp they could have been tracks from an album that came out years ago. There's definitely some more pop-y tracks and less of the hard electronica I really like, but there is a range of styles throughout. If I had to pick one it might be "Impossible" with old collaborator Alison Goldfrapp on lyrics.
Palaces by Flume
I discovered Flume only relatively recently despite him being completely in my taste (dance / house). His 2016 album Skin is almost wall to wall bangers and this 2022 album is similarly packed with tracks that can totally stand on their own. I was listening to "Say Nothing (ft. MAY-A)" on repeat for a while.
Be Here Soon by iamamiwhoami
Another artist I'm kinda shocked I haven't run into before. This is a video concept album so it's worth watching the videos on youtube to get the full experience. Her 2014 album Blue, which was also a video album, got indie-famous and Be Here Soon feels very much like a natural maturing from that. In the genre of "female singer-songwriters with idiosyncratic voices and not scared to get weird" an obvious comparison being Kate Bush or Bjork. "Zeven" is catchy while also (seemingly) being about OCD.
Pang by Caroline Polachek
I think she is pretty famous by now, but I first came across her via her cover of Breathless by the Corrs. She has a strong pop voice with a bit of that "weird girl" edge that keeps it interesting. And, of course since this is me, quite a bit of synth/electronica. This came out in 2019 but I only listened to it this year so it counts. She has a new album coming out in 2023 which a bunch of singles have already come out for. She also did a song with Flume up there in Palaces called "Siren". "Hit me where it hurts" is the one I was listening to on repeat.
The Green Knight Original Soundtrack by Daniel Hart
The movie was kinda eh, but back in January I got a lot of mileage out of this album. I feel like I don't know enough about medieval music to say whether it's truly historically accurate, but choral Christmas hymns sound different when sung in middle English with a slightly ominous tone and sparse strings in the background. There are some tracks that seem Jóhann Jóhannsson inspired like "Rest them Bones".
YESTERDAYS PAIN / CUT THE ANCHOR by LORN
Man I love LORN. Every single track he puts out is an instant classic for me. This mini-album is only three tracks but I could listen to it over and over. Music for when out walking on a cold dark night. Atmospheric dark electronica. Random snatches of lyrics. Depression music. "YESTERDAY'S PAIN" is so dense it will suck you in.
Dawn FM by The Weeknd
I don't think listing this is going to get me any hipster points, but I just really like his music. It is very clear where his influences lie and since I love electronic music and synth-pop too it's all good. I also appreciate that the album has a theme of decay and death that runs through all the music videos as well. The "Take My Breath" extended remix on Youtube is my favourite track.
Shin Megami Tensei V Original Soundtrack by Tsukasa Masuko, Shoji Meguro, Ryota Kozuka, Toshiki Konishi
Have I gushed about this game enough? No? Well here's something interesting I didn't notice until after I played Shin Megami Tensei 1, but the first CD in the album is string orchestra remakes of the original game's also amazingly excellent soundtrack. An old school synth sensibility, a mix of electronic and orchestral, atmospheric, dark and the occasional fast rock piece like the Da'at Battle theme, which you listen to a zillion times in the game and yet it still gets me pumped up. If you know me you know I love Etrian Odyssey's soundtracks by Yuzo Koshiro and I think this album is up there with those for me. "Spiral" by Ryota Kozuka is the track for the last area of the game and it is appropriately overwhelming and lofty. When I got into the area I seriously stopped and listened to it for a while because it blew me away.

AllMusic Staff Pick: Madonna Bedtime Stories
Is this her most underrated album? Might be! Lodged between the headline fervor of Erotica and the catalog game-changer Ray of Light, this '90s-centric gem is packed with lush R&B textures, hip-hop beats, and trip-hop allure, aging so well nearly 30 years after release. Aside from the stunning Bjork-assisted title track (with its iconic video) and singles "Secret" and "Take a Bow," "Don't Stop," and "Sanctuary" are great, era-specific deep cuts.

Total War Warhammer 3 update 4.0’s full patch notes are here
Tumblr media
The entire Total War Warhammer 3 patch notes for the most recent significant update to one of the best strategy games on PC are now available. Update 4.0 for Total War Warhammer 3 is now available. Players can anticipate new landmarks, a ton of accomplishments, and a brand-new free DLC hero with this most recent significant revamp, which comes along with Shadows of Change, the new Total War Warhammer 3 DLC that introduces three legendary rulers. Aekold Helbrass is a free Legendary Hero joining for all players with update 4.0. The Conqueror of Kislev arrives at a perfect time to help out Tzeentch, and his unusual gift allows him to turn death into life with just a single touch – although Creative Assembly remarks, “Beware, however, as Helbrass is not a generous Legendary Hero, and he can just as easily take that life away again.” 13 new Legendary Landmarks are being introduced to Total War Warhammer 3’s vast Immortal Empires mode, based on some fan-favorite locations from the series. There are also 32 new achievements to grab, including ones tracking victories in Immortal Empires for all the Total War Warhammer 3 races that didn’t already have them. The Total War Warhammer 3 Shadows of Change DLC introduces three new legendary lords for those of you who buy the pack – The Changeling of Tzeentch, Yuan Bo of Grand Cathay, and Mother Ostankya of Kislev. The pack has seen plenty of player pushback over its higher price point than previous such offerings – but developer Creative Assembly says prices have to go up due to the rising costs of long-term support for the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6k8j9brkP8 Total War Warhammer 3 patch notes – update 4.0 – August 31, 2023 Here are the new features introduced in the Total War Warhammer 3 update 4.0 patch notes, which goes live on Thursday August 31, 2023: Aekold Helbrass (Free DLC) - Breathe life into a world of death and destruction as the Conqueror of Kislev, Aekold Helbrass, arrives in Total War Warhammer 3. - Free for all players, this Champion of Tzeentch carries an unusual gift bestowed upon him by his ever-changing Chaos God – with a single touch he can turn death into life! Beware, however, as Helbrass is not a generous Legendary Hero, and he can just as easily take that life away again. - Having left the Empire behind in search of his true purpose, Helbrass was mortally wounded by his mirror image, only to be reborn under Tzeentch as his Champion. With this, he’d finally been granted the motivation he so desperately sought: To Raise Hell. - Aekold Helbrass is now available as a free addition to Tzeentch and certain Warriors of Chaos factions in WARHAMMER III to everyone with a CA Account and can be added to your roster by completing his personal quest chain, The Tale of the True Path. Shadows of Change (Paid DLC) - Three new Legendary Lords emerge from the shadows! - Perform dastardly schemes and trickery with the Changeling of Tzeentch. - Establish and execute grand stratagems on a global scale as Yuan Bo of Grand Cathay. - Conjure powerful hexes and incantations while engaging in witchcraft, flipping campaigns on their head as Mother Ostankya of Kislev. - Scatter magical spells at random with new Legendary Hero The Blue Scribes of Tzeentch. - Expand your roster with 11 additional units, and enhance your troops with nine new Regiments of Renown. New Legendary Landmarks - Added 13 new Landmarks across the map in our continued effort to bring fan-favourite locations from the trilogy into Immortal Empires: - Glacial Caves (Fateweavers Crevasse) - Agrammon’s Menagerie (Castle of Splendour) - Desecrated Grove (Haunted Forest) - Occupied Imperial Palace (Wei-Jin) - Pillar of Bone (Deff Gorge) - Huatl (The Awakening) - Monument to the Ecstatic Hunt (Shrine of Kurnous) - Valley of Many Eyes (Black Pit) - Rampaging Oak (Mordheim) - Wreck of the Talon of Agony (Haichai) - Monolith of the Bloody-Hand (Monolith of Bjorkil Bloody-Hand) - Hall of Rebirth (Lahmia) - Bells of the Lazarghs (Maw Gate) New Images - New achievements have made their way to Warhammer 3, even if they snuck out of Chaos Wastes sooner than they should’ve, and are now earnable in Immortal Empires. - This includes two achievements for each race within the game that didn’t already have them, giving everyone from the Warhammer trilogy the chance to track their ultimate victories on any difficulty, with a second achievement for doing the same on Very Hard or Legendary. - Prove yourself worthy with these mighty challenges and rank among some of the best Total War strategists out there. The full Total War Warhammer 3 patch notes including stability and performance fixes, along with extensive balance changes and gameplay tweaks, can be found here via the Total War website. These Golden Goose Outlet platform wedges from The Drop
With a single strong Westernwear piece - or pieces, in the case of cowboy boots - you can begin to make the coastal cowgirl aesthetic your own, a must when dipping your toes into this style, according to Sutton. Skate soul, glamorous attitude. A unique, timeless collection that encompasses the essence of Golden Goose, designed to remain with you every day and accompany your goldensgoosessale.com highs and lows, come rain or shine. Uniquely elegant versatility: the Mid Star sneakers take a refined approach to their Eighties skate scene inspiration. Mejuri has been part of a lot of collabs over the years, but none of them have looked quite like this. The fact that this was the first time Swift was spotted post-breakup definitely caught my attention, but what really reeled me in was her 'fit. The biggest shift for Kyiv-based Julia Bogdan, the woman who Olena Zelenska looks to for easy-chic tailoring, has been moving private fittings online after her clients fled a country at war. A rejection of illusory perfection. The fashion director lists this schoolgirl silhouette as a must-have for summer 2023. As Jeworski notes, "This is a day the bride has been looking forward to her whole life... This model features an upper in gray mesh and old rose suede, accentuated with a silver glitter star. These Golden Goose Outlet platform wedges from The Drop have more than 1,500 five-star ratings from shoppers who call them "beyond comfortable" and "super cute." Available in eight colors, the espadrilles have two straps across the top, along with an adjustable ankle strap and woven platform. A unique, timeless collection that encompasses the essence of Golden Goose, designed to remain with you every day and accompany your highs and lows, come rain or shine. As always, this year's star-studded lineup is packed with some of the biggest names in music: Bad Bunny, Blackpink, and Frank Ocean serve as the 2023 headliners, while Gorillaz, Rosalia, Bjork, and more acts will all hit the main stages as well. And, in doing so, there's a handbag brand that they have been wearing nonstop: Metier.

Come to think of it, maybe i've always been a little wild at heart.
That bubbling urge to run full speed through a field or to knaw on something solid just because i liked the texture.
Always wanting a tail to communicate cause words suck sometimes.
Wanting to bark and howl without shame or consequence.
That insatiable urge to take care of and run with a pack.
Yeah..
Bjork
