When he comes home with a still bleeding, bandaged scar, she doesn't scold him. Rather, she traces her fingertips along the length of his cheek, soft skin prickled by the three days growth of beard, sighing softly. "You should see the other guy," he jokes and her lips twitch, brown eyes peering up at him from beneath her fringe of red hair. "I’m fine," he assures her, sobering, green eyes meeting brown. He catches her hand with his, giving it a gentle squeeze.  

"I know," she replies, but she leans into him all the same, burying her face into his chest; his robes smell of smoke and the cologne she got him last year for Christmas. "I was worried,” she admits, softer still, warmth rushing through her as his arms wrap around her waist. They’ve spent the better part of this last year navigating the path of grief and horror, the aftermath of a war that had felt never ending, one which had taken so very much from the both of them, from all of the world. She knows he’d never be happy if he wasn’t out there saving the world somehow, but these missions... She swallows, forcing her thoughts in another direction, away from the what ifs and the maybes that far too often plagued her mind. He was home safe and that’s what she must focus on, that’s what she must always hope for.  

“Gin...” Her name is soft on his lips and she tilts her head back, only so she might stare into those emerald-colored eyes. “I’m sorry for worrying you,” he says as he tips his forehead against hers, breathing in her sweet, floral scent, one he would know anywhere. One which brings him comfort and calm, even in his darkest of moments.  

“Come to bed,” is all she says, to which he nods, allowing her to take him by the hand and lead him up the stairs to their shared bedroom.  

When her final year at Hogwarts was over, she had not returned home, but rather came here, to the house Harry had rebuilt from the ashes of the one his parents owned. What had once been his was now theirs and Harry was thankful for every night, he came home to find her asleep in their bed. He sheds his cloak and kicks off his shoes, watching as she climbs back into bed, one slim, ivory thigh taunting him as it slides beneath the blankets. “I love you,” he says and she’s smiling, opening her arms to him as he too climbs into the bed. She draws him into her and they put their heads to their pillows, wrapped in one another’s arms, lost in the moment.  

As his eyes fall closed, he feels her shift closer, feels the swift kiss of her lips against his forehead. “I love you, too,” she whispers into the darkness, knowing he’s already asleep. And so, she too closes her eyes, and sleeps, looking forward to waking up beside him in the morning.

In the Deathly Hallows when the trio gets captured and brought to Malfoy Manor, Draco is called over to confirm whether it’s Harry, because he looks very different. Hermione busted up his face, but it also mentions that his hair is long, and he has facial hair.

Presumably he cleans it up when they are at Shell Cottage (I don’t remember if this is mentioned). I wish we had more description about him and his thoughts about his hair. You’re telling me he had shoulder-length hair (iirc) and it wasn’t always in his way or falling in his face? It didn’t make him think of Sirius?

Anyway, I was thinking about this because in the fourth book, it’s pointed out that Bill has longer hair and it’s very cool looking, and Ginny is a big fan of it.  And so now I like to think that maybe after the battle at hogwarts, he decided he wanted to try something different and grow his hair out, and she thinks it looks cool.

i…am really bad with them, tbh. i don’t often picture people in my head so much as features & traits & behaviours. it’s why i really like fanart but can’t get behind fancasts.

So I played this game today in Uni's fest, where we were asked to share a thing/incidence from the past two years of our lives that amazed us, or something that we found beautiful.

I couldn't really answer properly back there because there are just so many things that have inspired me. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that the Jily fandom (or any fandom in general) is something that is so uniquely beautiful.

Majority of the people here don't know how the other person looks, majority of us are from different nations, majority of us speak different languages, we are all different ages, we all have different jobs, hell we all belong to different time zones!

But there's something like a thread that has tied us all together. It's something as simple as love for two people, that too fictional characters!

It's like, a fiction has given us something real. Divided my nations (perhaps) but united by a fandom!

And if that's not beautiful, I don't know what is.
