THEY THINK BOBBY SHOULD BE IN WHAT???? y’all loooove to bring that up every time y’all don’t agree with something bobby does, but like bobby was investigated TWICE and they still found him innocent so find something new to say pls🙄
YUP!!
Even though the real crime there was the BUILDING OWNER that ignored each and every safety regulation that existed.
Apparently it's Bobby's fault that he happened to be the one to leave a space heater on unattended, as opposed to his next door neighbor accidentally knocking over a candle, or the guy down the hall putting pizza in the oven for too long and thus catching it on fire.
Bobby blamed himself, but that doesn't mean it was his fault.

Buck gets mistreated a hell of a whole lot more than anyone on that show he deserves support and writers just want to create that support since he doesn’t really get it anywhere without people calling him selfish
The lawsuit arc is bogus and I have stated so many times with the knowledge that I have as a firefighter that being on blood thinners and having a clotting disorder is a Category A condition which eliminates a firefighter from active duty. The LAFD had to settle with money, because he really honestly shouldn’t have been allowed to have his job back as an active duty firefighter with a condition he didn’t know the cause of it. If this were real life, Buck would have had to take light duty for a long time until they were sure the screws were causing the clots.
Bobby is shown to be thinking more with his heart than his professional brain, if you go by his wording in those few episodes, but he was still his captain and has other firefighters that he is responsible for and by bringing Buck back on active duty before he was off the blood thinners without issues, he’s putting himself, his firefighters, Buck, and any future victim in more of harms way than the job already is.
Bobby has shown Buck so much support and people tend to forget that in favor of babying Buck about the lawsuit.
For the thousandth time, Eddie had every right to be hurt and angry at Buck for the lawsuit. It’s canon that Buck is a big part of Eddie and Christopher’s life, and because Buck was, quite frankly, being selfish trying to get his job back before he was physically ready, they weren’t allowed to contact him when they were struggling too. You guys talk about Buck’s abandonment issues but always seem to ignore Eddie’s because honestly, some of you guys seem to see Eddie only as a love interest for Buck. Shannon left, with no more than a note. Buck leaving had to have felt as bad because of the impact he had on their life.
In the end though, Eddie forgave Buck. Things returned to normal. You’re telling me Eddie doesn’t support Buck? Doesn’t treat him good? We have got to be talking about different shows. When Buck was scared about ending up like Red, Eddie was there to tell him they’re there to stay. After the dinner with his parents, he was standing right there with Buck, trying not to let him get ahead of himself in anger. He was there as a steady person. “I had to do it.” “I know you did.” Eddie is always there for Buck, but because he’s called him out on being selfish once, you think he’s the worst best friend? What? Get over yourself.
Hen and Chimney have been nothing but supportive of Buck since the very fucking beginning so don’t even try to tell me you have to WRITE buck getting support since the show won’t give it to you when he’s got Hen and Chimney right by his side. Even through the lawsuit, they defended him and supported him when he came back.
Maddie not telling him about Daniel is not mistreating him. She’s a victim of their parents just as much as Buck was and I’m sick and tired of hearing that she should have told Buck. She’s an amazing sister and I’m so sick of the Maddie antis twisting everything she does that Buck very obviously never has any problem with. She gave up her freedom and the money that could help her get away from Doug just so Buck could be free from their parents and be happy. She kept all of the post cards he sent her even though she could never reply. She never told him about Doug because she was trying to protect Buck. She’s literally always supported Buck. Something awful must have happened for her to actually cut contact with her little brother, it wasn’t intentional. She was being abused. Even your precious made of glass Buck says “And it’s easy to lash out on the one person you know is always going to be there for you.” Or something like that.
There you have it. Maybe now you can stop writing things where you completely mischaracterize every single character to fit your stupid ass narrative. :)

3B better have everyone [especially Eddie] apologizing to one Mr. Evan Buckley because it isn’t on him to apologise all the freaking time.
Especially for something that wasn’t completely his fault.

Unfinished Business
Summary: After Freddie Costas' father dies in jail, he comes looking for revenge against the people that he blames the most; the insurance adjuster, the lawyer, the judge, and unfortunately for Evan Buckley, Bobby Nash.
A/N: HUGE thanks go to the beta for this story, missmarthanightingale for all of the hard work that she put into this - this story would not have become what it is if it wasn't for you!
**
The residents of the greater Los Angeles area had been on edge for days. There was a serial bomber on the loose that was leaving mysterious packages on residents’ doorsteps. When they went to retrieve the package, they had been horrifically surprised with a crippling boom.
The first victim had been Miranda Filson, who was now fighting for her life in the hospital. She had been preparing to go out with her husband when the package arrived. Miranda had been excited, hoping what was in the package would make up for her husband’s lack-luster effort in choosing a restaurant for their anniversary dinner.
The next victim came only a day later, a retired insurance adjustor, Kevin Dean. It had been obvious to Athena that there was some connection. The way in which the packages were being left, as well as the bombs themselves, indicated a distinct pattern; that of a serial bomber who was just getting started.
The most recent victim had been Judge Vernon Clemmons, and he hadn’t survived. She only hoped that they would be able to figure it all out before there were any more victims.
So when Athena received the call that a package had been left on her family’s doorstep, and that her son, Harry, had nearly opened it, she had raced home. She enveloped her ex-husband Michael in a hug, held their children close. She thanked Michael for being there with the kids, worst case scenarios flashing through her mind.
Once the bomb squad had taken care of the package that was left on their porch, Bobby Nash was finally able to make it up the road and to their home. “Hey, I got here as fast as I could, they wouldn’t let me down the street,” he said by way of an apology, as he hurriedly made his way down the steps in their home. “Do they have any idea who’s doing this?”
Athena glanced at Bobby, scouring her brain for any tidbit of information that she may have been missing. “I keep running through it in my head. I was at the scene of the first bombing, but the woman isn’t familiar, not her face or her name. They say she’s a defense lawyer, and we must have crossed paths, but I-I just …” She struggled with the words, trying to dig up some memory of the woman.
“You’ve been doing this for a while. You’re not gonna remember every attorney you’ve ever met,” he told her gently.
“They also showed me a photo of the insurance adjustor. He didn’t look familiar either, the only one that I am sure of is Judge Clemmons.”
Bobby’s forehead creased slightly. “Judge Clemmons? Why does that name sound familiar?”
“Sergeant Grant.” Agent Boyd, who was investigating the case, made his way in through the sliding glass door from the backyard, approaching Bobby and Athena. “Do you remember working an arson case about three years back?” He slipped a small notepad in his pocket, turning his attention back to Athena. “It was a restaurant.”
“Guillermo’s,” Bobby piped in, from where he stood a few steps behind Athena.
Athena glanced between Bobby and Agent Boyd before explaining. “Agent Boyd, this is Captain Nash of the LAFD. We worked that case together.”
“It’s the only time I’ve had to testify since I moved to L.A. The owner was Victor Costas. He got six years. Should still be in prison,” Bobby supplied, shaking his head. He remembered plenty of cases, but this one had really stuck with him. Bobby couldn't forget how distraught Freddie Costas had been to see his father arrested for the arson of the family restaurant.
“Well, released early, on account of he’s dead.” Athena let out a small gasp at Agent Boyd’s words, and he continued. “About three months ago. Cancer.”
“He had a wife and a kid, a teenager. And the son was really angry when his father got arrested,” Bobby offered.
Athena leveled Boyd with a meaningful look. “Father’s dead. I wonder how angry he is now.”
After a few more minutes, Agent Boyd excused himself, telling them that he was heading to the station, where they were bringing in Mrs. Costas for questioning. Without hesitation, Bobby and Athena followed him down there. There wasn’t much they could do at home now anyway, waiting for the house to be cleared.
**
Athena and Bobby stood in silence, watching the interview taking place between Romero and Mrs. Costas. They wondered how much she really knew. The interview had been emotional. It began with her swearing that they had the wrong person, that her Freddie would never do something like this. As the interview progressed however, so did her story. When they discussed the fire, she told Romero that they had been unable to claim anything from the insurance company, and had then been sued by their creditors. Her voice shook with emotion as she explained how they had lost it all; between the LAFD, the insurance company, and everything surrounding the trial, they had been left with nothing.
“We sold everything we had to pay for that lawyer,” she told Detective Romero, “and what did we get? A death sentence. Prison broke my husband,” her voice trembled, “and then it killed him.”
Romero leaned forward, eyes locked on Mrs. Costas as he braced his hands on the chair in front of him. “So Freddie was angry.” He spoke in an even tone. “At the lawyer, at the judge, at the insurance company. Who else is he angry at, Mrs. Costas?”
Before they could hear her answer, Bobby and Athena were distracted by the sound the door opening as Agent Boyd joined them in the room. “Bomb squad just cleared your home, Captain Nash. Nothing there.”
“Well, I guess that’s a relief,” Bobby said.
Athena frowned. “That doesn’t make sense, though. I was there the day his father was arrested. He said you blew up their lives.”
Agent Boyd shrugged. “Well, maybe he’s saving Captain Nash for last. Hasn’t sent the bomb yet.”
As Agent Boyd spoke, discomfort settled low in Bobby’s stomach. His eyes shifted as he thought, before focusing back on Boyd.  “Or, maybe you searched the wrong house.”
**
“Interim Captain Han.” Buck’s jaw clenched in annoyance. He struggled not to roll his eyes, standing shoulder to shoulder with the other firefighters for an inspection. “Is this really necessary? Bobby-”
“Ah, ah.” Chimney spoke slowly, wagging his finger. “Bobby’s not the captain, I am. So you really need to stop questioning my authority.”
“You are seriously so drunk with power, and delusional to boot, Chim.”
Chimney leveled Buck with a glare. “That’s Interim Captain Han, to you.”
Hen shook her head, a laugh escaping her lips. “And if there is any fairness left in this world, Bobby will be back as captain any day now.”
Eddie glanced up from where he stood, shaking his head. “They’re not wrong. You have been insufferable,” he said, taking a seat on one of the benches.
Chimney didn’t have the chance to retort before they heard the alarm bells sound. “Alright, let’s gear up.” The crew made their way down to the trucks, Hen manning the ambulance alone as Chim, Buck and Eddie climbed into the rigs.
They were being called to a reported three car pile-up in downtown Los Angeles, and they  weaved quickly through the streets. “One-eighteen, one-eighteen. We’ve got Bobby Nash on the line. He says it’s important,” a dispatcher called over the radio.
A look of confusion crossed Chimney’s face. “Wait, what? Dispatch? Dispatch please repeat.”
If there was any response from dispatch, Chimney didn’t hear it. In a heartbeat, the sirens echoing through the streets of Los Angeles seemed to go silent. A burst of heat lit up the night, the sound of the sirens replaced by a deafening explosion from the ladder rig. The blast originated at the base of the truck, causing an inferno to billow up from below. The rig tumbled like a toy onto its side, skidding to a halt in an empty intersection, the vibrations from the impact thrumming through the street below.
As the initial fire from the explosion began to dissipate, smoke began to rise from the ground in its place, turning the street hazy.
Hen looked on in horror from beside the ambulance, eyes searching for the other members of the one-eighteen. As she stood there, taking in the scene before her, a dark-haired man came into view, stalking around the back of the overturned fire truck. Over his dark clothing he wore a suicide vest, a detonator clutched in his hand. She was studying the scene so vigilantly that she didn’t even notice Chimney, who was now at her side.
She watched the man move closer, his attention locked on a body that lay on the ground, thrown about ten feet from the ladder rig, barely moving. Buck’s body.
“No, no, no …” she breathed out, instinct carrying her forward.
“Hen,” Chim said firmly, his hand resting on her arm, “no.”
“But-”
“That is a direct order,” he told her. A moment later he stepped away, radio in hand.
“Dispatch? This is the captain of the one-eighteen, what’s the play? We have people lying in the street, they’re in need of medical attention.”
"Hold your position, one-eighteen." Chimney sighed at the response, dropping his hand to his side.
His eyes scanned the chaos, and he was unable to account for all of the members of his crew.
**
Buck let out a low groan from where he lay on the road, barely able to lift his head after it had bounded off of the pavement. His vision was blurred from the impact, his head pounding incessantly as he struggled to focus on the approaching figure.
An unnerving chuckle escaped from Freddie Costas’ lips. “Oh, you’re new.” The line of his mouth curled up slowly, head tilting as he watched Buck writhe.
“Help,” Buck managed to choke out.
Freddie’s chuckle turned into an outright laugh. “That’s cute. Don’t. Move,” he snarled, before he turned and walked away from Buck, eyes scanning the crowd of LAFD and LAPD personnel that had gathered around the scene. “Where is the captain? Give me the captain!” His voice grew agitated as he yelled out.
Chim sucked in a breath before he stepped away, dodging Hen’s attempt to catch his arm as she hissed his name. Of all of the scenarios he’d imagined when he thought about bossing people around and being captain of the one-eighteen while Bobby was suspended, he’d envisioned nothing like this. He stepped forward, his arms raised above his head.
Walking back to Buck, Freddie watched as he shifted slightly in the street. “I thought I told you not to move!” Freddie kicked Buck in the ribs, hard, venting his frustration.
Chimney skirted the debris scattered on the road, slowly approaching Freddie and Buck. “I’m the captain, okay? Please, I’m the captain of the one-eighteen. Let me help them.” Although there were others injured, Chim’s eyes focused on Buck, who lay unmoving on the pavement. He was located on the side of the overturned truck, enduring the worst of the impact and injuries. “Please,” Chim begged.
Freddie’s eyebrows knit together in rage. “No, no I don’t want you. I want CAPTAIN NASH,” he bellowed.
**
Bobby stood with Athena, about twenty feet behind the line of police cars and flashing lights. They had both been standing there almost from the start of the stand-off, watching in horror. Waiting for Freddie to turn himself in, or for some opportunity to negotiate with him. Due to the unknown nature of the detonation device and the method for triggering the explosives, the LAPD couldn’t even risk sliding him a phone to communicate with.
The moment that Freddie demanded Bobby, his intent became clear. Revenge. Bobby took a steadying breath before leaning towards Athena. “I love you,” he said, hurried but genuine. Athena watched, frozen, as Bobby walked away from the safety of the police cordon and into Freddie’s line of fire.
“Captain Nash! Don’t confront him!” Agent Boyd called out as he walked past the police cars and towards the fire truck.
“He wants me, not Buck.”
“He wants you dead!” Boyd called uselessly after Bobby, who continued his long strides towards the fire truck. Towards Freddie. Towards Buck.
“Let’s give him what he wants.”
“Captain Nash!”
“Shoot me if you have to!” he shouted, casting a single glance over his shoulder, his purposeful steps finally bringing him in front of the fire truck. He watched Buck curl up into himself as Freddie directed several more agonizing kicks to his midsection, causing Buck to shout out in pain.
Bobby bit back a wave of nausea at Buck’s plea for help. “Freddie,” he called, with as much calm as he could feign.  Bobby stood still, with his hands in the air, his eyes fixed on Freddie’s.
“I thought you’d be on the truck.” Freddie turned on his heels as he spoke, until he was face to face with Bobby.
“I’m here now,” Bobby said, lowering his hands as he took a few steps forward. “What’s next?”
“Good question.” Freddie’s voice was tight, and he moved to meet Bobby.
“This is what you wanted,” Bobby reminded him, both of them coming to a stop about ten feet apart. Freddie caught a glimpse of movement near Buck and looked back.
“Hey, hey, hey!” He turned, waving the detonator wildly. “Get away from him, or we all go boom.” Eddie’s breath caught as he glanced at the kid, at the vest he was wearing, and recognized that he clearly had the upper hand.
“Freddie.” The kid’s eyes snapped back to Bobby’s. “You don’t want to hurt them.”
Freddie shrugged carelessly, as though it were an afterthought. “My intention was to kill you. On that truck.”
“I-I get that, Freddie.”
“Since that didn’t work out for me, I think I’ve come up with an alternate plan.” Freddie pressed his lips together, eyeing Bobby speculatively. “You know, in all of my spare time, I’ve been doing a little research, on you and that life of yours. You’re engaged now, which I guess is pretty impressive, considering your past.
“I’ve also found out that you have quite the relationship with some of the members of your firehouse. You consider them family, don’t you? Like children.” Bobby tried to keep his face blank at Freddie’s words, but he didn’t like the direction the conversation seemed to be going.
“Freddie- forget everyone else. You’ve got me, and that is what you came here for. Revenge against me. What are you waiting for?” he asked.
Bobby didn’t want to die. He was knee deep in wedding plans, enjoying the opportunity to take the time and do it right. He was determined to choose the right venue, the right food, the right vows. He wanted everything to be perfect, for Athena and for him.
It was unfair, that after years of wanting to die it was now that he was faced with Freddie Costas. Years of writing names in a notebook to keep track of how close he was to being able to end his life. It was now, when he had finally found happiness, that Freddie had come looking for his death, only a year after he’d accepted that he was allowed to live.  That he was allowed to have joy in his life, love and friendship and family.
But now here he was, facing death. The only thing that he feared more than dying here, leaving Athena to live her life without him, was watching it happen to Buck instead. Buck, who had done nothing to deserve this.
“You’re right, I am here for revenge against you,” Freddie agreed, “but revenge comes in many forms, Captain Nash.”
“Freddie-” The young man raised his arm, and Bobby was silenced.
“Get him up,” he told Eddie. “We’re going to have a little change of wardrobe.” It took Bobby a moment to realize what he was alluding to. The vest. His heart started beating that much harder in his chest, the very thought sending his brain into overdrive.
“Freddie, wait,” he pleaded, stepping closer to Freddie. Bobby glanced at Buck for a moment, watched him twitch where he lay on the hard pavement, blood leaking out onto the street. “You don’t want to do this. He never did anything to you. He wasn’t even a firefighter when your father burned down that restaurant. He’s got a family- parents, a sister ...”
Freddie smirked, clearly enjoying Bobby's turmoil. “Maybe, but it’s collateral damage,” he explained. “I can’t make you watch me punish your son, since he’s dead already. But there is a guy who works at the firehouse who’s almost a son to you, right Captain Nash?”
“Freddie,” Bobby tried again. “The best way to get revenge on me is to punish me.”
“No, no it’s not.” Freddie laughed. “If you had just been in the damn fire truck none of this would be happening right now,” he scolded. “But that’s not what happened, is it? And, I can tell you from personal experience, the best way to make someone suffer is to hurt the people they love.
“Now my dad, he was a good man. He was desperate, but he did what he had to do to try to provide for his family, to try to find a way out of the mess we were in!” Freddie dragged a hand over the back of his neck roughly. “But you couldn’t just let it be, could you? If there’s one person that is responsible for my dad being dead, it is you!”
Bobby felt the panic rising in him as Freddie stripped the vest from his chest. “You,” he said, through a tight jaw, nodding at Eddie, “put this on him.”
The look on Eddie’s face was stricken. “I-” He shook his head. “No, I won’t do it.”
“That’s too bad,” Freddie murmured, closing the distance between himself and Buck. “I wonder what I should do to him instead.”
Bobby locked eyes with Freddie, and saw nothing but rage there. “Freddie, please-”
The onlookers cringed as Freddie began to unleash his aggression on Buck. The kicks were hard and unrelenting, centered on Buck’s midsection. Buck let out a scream, a sickening crack echoing through the air around him. His breathing was shallow, coming out as desperate gasps as he struggled with the pain. Soon, the agony in his midsection was matched only by the impact of boots to his face, which he was too spent to fend off.
“Please,” Bobby begged.
“Please?” Freddie echoed, with a bitter laugh. “You think the pain gets to stop because you say please? My mom and I, we lost everything because of you.” His eyes snapped up to Bobby’s, then left his face to find Eddie. “Put this on him.”
Eddie didn’t speak, but shook his head. His hazel eyes welled with tears as he looked down at Buck. How could this monster expect him to strap a bomb to his best friend? Eddie’s eyes met Bobby’s, a silent plea for help, for him to somehow fix all of this.
Another round of relentless kicks began, and Buck’s wounded screams could be heard above all of the chatter and noise of the surrounding scene. Freddie ceased kicking and looked down at the battered fireman, a slight tilt to his head as he studied the damage. Buck tried to move, and cried out in agony. His bloodied face lifted slightly from the pavement, vision clouded by floating white spots in his field of view. It took him a long moment, but he finally found the figure that looked most like Eddie. “Eddie, please, just do what he says,” he sputtered, coughing painfully.
Bobby took a few steps closer. “How about you have him put that vest on me?” He suggested. “I’m the one you want to punish. That guy didn’t do anything.”
Freddie glanced between the three firefighters. “You’re reminding me of when my dad used to try to protect me from things that might hurt me,” he told Bobby, a mixture of grief and hatred in his eyes. “He’s not here to do that anymore, though, and pretty soon this guy’s not going to be here for you to protect, either.”
Bobby felt himself growing frantic, his heartbeat thundering in his ears. The sound was so distracting that, just for a moment, he couldn’t hear anything else. Desperate, pleading eyes found Freddie’s, but Freddie seemed devoid of any emotion besides hatred. How was this happening right now, and to Buck? He didn’t deserve this. He was just a kid.
**
“Buck, I-” Eddie cut himself off, at a loss for the right words to say as he crouched beside his friend. The injuries were severe, and Eddie knew that he needed medical attention sooner rather than later. Buck was telling him to put the vest on him, but Eddie felt nearly paralyzed with fear at the idea that Buck wasn’t going to make it out of this alive.
If he didn’t put the vest on Buck, though, Freddie was just going to keep kicking, and Eddie didn’t know how much more of that Buck could take before his body just gave out.
“Do it,” Buck managed, his voice strangled. The pain in his voice caused tears to prick behind Eddie’s eyes, and he swallowed hard to push them down.
“Okay, I-I’ll put it on him.” Eddie struggled to get the words out. His eyes locked on Buck’s face, and it took everything in him to not completely break down. It took everything in him to fight the instinct to clean Buck up and wrap him in his arms, whisper to him that everything was going to be okay. Eddie’s heart hammered against his chest, and he swallowed down the wave of nausea that threatened to overtake him.
He had faced many intense situations in the army; the rig exploding and his present inability to help Buck brought him back to those times. To times when his convoy would be driving along, and he’d see other vehicles taken out by roadside bombs. It all felt too familiar, and the dread that had settled in his stomach seemed unshakeable. In the army it was brutal, but not unexpected. He’d never expected to have to face this here, in Los Angeles, responding to a simple car accident.
And to have it be Buck lying in the street like this made it all the worse; as much as he cared for his friends, he would have found it easier to force his emotions down if Hen or Chim were here instead.
Gingerly, he tried to move Buck into a more upright position, an effort which left Buck gasping unevenly. Buck’s eyes locked on Eddie’s, searching for some kind of comfort. His lips twitched slightly and at first, Eddie couldn’t put his finger on what he was trying to do. When he realised, he shook his head, even with Freddie at their sides with the vest. The son-of-a-bitch was trying to smile, to ease Eddie’s fear.
**
Bobby looked on helplessly, as Freddie stepped closer to the two youngest members of his crew, both of whom Bobby considered family.
“Freddie-” His eyes scanned their surroundings, searching desperately for something. He caught sight of Athena in the distance, standing just beyond the barrier the LAPD had created. He gave her a small nod, praying this wasn’t going to backfire, and that it wasn’t too late. “Freddie?” Bobby called again, drawing on the calm in Athena’s eyes to keep himself steady as he watched the vest being lowered onto Buck’s torso.
Freddie turned towards Bobby, still clutching the detonator tightly in his hand. “What is it, Captain Nash? Do you have some final words you’d like to share, or are you saving that for his eulogy?”
“I was just wondering if you had any final words for your mother, before she watches you die,” Bobby said, gesturing to where Athena and Romero approached, with Mrs. Costas between them.
“Freddie,” she pleaded as they approached, tears welling in her eyes.
“Mom,” Freddie responded, glancing away from Eddie and Buck, his attention focused entirely on his mother. His mouth hung open as he searched for the words, eyes hypnotized by her stricken face.
In an instant, Bobby’s arms were around Freddie, trying to hold him still as Bobby fought for control of the detonator. “No, no, no!” Freddie screamed as he struggled. Moments later, a SWAT team had moved in, guns aimed at Freddie.
“Don’t move!”
Bobby’s hand gripped Freddie’s tightly in his. “Dead man’s trigger, dead man’s trigger!” he shouted, eyes locked on the man in front of them as he carefully removed the detonator from Freddie’s hand, maintaining the pressure as he moved away. The others quickly moved in on Freddie, cuffing him roughly before pulling him away from the scene.
Bobby turned on his heel, quick strides bringing him to Buck and Eddie. Athena was right behind him, and Bobby heard the faint radio chatter as the one-eighteen was given the all clear to move in and help Buck.
“We’ve got to get this off of him,” Bobby said, eyes flashing. He felt a hand at his shoulder, grounding him. Athena.
“You still with us, Buck?” Chimney called as the rest of the crew quickly moved in to surround their wounded friend.
“Come on, Bobby. Let’s let them work,” Athena’s voice was filled with motherly concern as she watched them work on Buck, carefully removing the vest and placing a cervical collar on him. They moved him onto the backboard, and Athena’s hand found Bobby’s, fingers lacing through his.
“I can’t lose him, Athena.” Bobby’s voice shook even at the thought. He remembered all too clearly what it felt like to lose a child. Buck might not be his son by blood, but he had become Bobby’s family, just as Athena, May and Harry had. Watching him suffer and not being able to help, that was the worst pain of all. It brought him back to the helplessness of the night the fire had killed his family, and he felt that same panic coursing through him now. “I can’t.”
Bobby’s shoulders shuddered, as all the fear that had been rippling through him bubbled to the surface, now that the threat of Freddie’s bomb was gone. Athena lay her hand on his back, moving it in a soothing motion. “Don’t you dare,” she admonished, “don’t you dare give up on him this easily.”
Hen closed the doors to the ambulance, eyes moving to Athena’s with a look of fear, along with something else, a feeling of empathy for Bobby. “We’ll follow the ambulance to the hospital,” Athena said.
**
Eddie rode in the back of the ambulance with Chimney and Buck, trying to keep him conscious as Hen raced through the city streets to the hospital.
“Come on, Buckaroo, keep those eyes open for us,” Chim encouraged, glancing to Eddie for a quick second before focusing back on Buck.
“Hey, so …” Eddie struggled to find the right words to say to keep Buck with them. “So Chris was telling me about this project that they’re doing in school now, for science class, and he’s super excited. It’s about bugs. I swear that kid is so strange sometimes.”
Buck’s eyes found Eddie’s, even that simple effort causing him pain. He looked as though he wanted to say something, and struggled to find his voice beneath the oxygen mask. “He- isn’t-” His words came out in uneven rasps of breath.
“Don’t try to talk,” Eddie soothed, fingers reaching for his hand. “Just keep your eyes open and on me, alright? We’re pulling up to the hospital now. We’re gonna get you all taken care of, so you can tell Christopher a bunch of absolutely ridiculous and useless facts about bugs.”
That was the last thing that Buck heard before everything went black.
**
Buck awoke in a groggy daze, eyes blinking rapidly as they adjusted to the light. As he glanced around the quiet hospital room, they landed on the man sitting quietly in the chair beside the bed, a book in his hands that he didn’t seem to be reading. “Cap.” His voice was hoarse when he spoke.
“Buck, you’re awake.” Bobby smiled as he rose to his feet, grabbing a styrofoam cup from where it sat on the movable tray beside his bed. “Here, take a sip,” he urged, holding the straw to Buck’s lips as he managed a few small swallows before Bobby removed the cup.
It had only been a day since Freddie had blown up their lives. Bobby hadn’t left the hospital in that time, although he’d been urged to go home and take a shower, with promises that he’d be contacted as soon as there was any change. Bobby already felt like he had failed Buck, there was no way that he wasn’t going to be there for him when he woke up. Bobby’s eyes scanned over Buck’s bruised face, and he struggled to push away a sense of self loathing. “I’m so sorry, kid.”
A look of confusion washed over Buck’s face as he looked at Bobby. “What do you have to be sorry for?” he asked.
“For putting you in that situation, Buck. For putting you in danger,” Bobby stammered.
Buck tried to haul himself more upright in the bed, but grimaced as a sharp pain shot up through his ribcage. His hand moved to cover his midsection. “Bobby, you didn’t put me in danger. That lunatic did,” Buck protested.
“Freddie was after me, not you. And he hurt you because he knows how much you mean to me. So your pain, what he did to you, that’s on me, Buck.”
The younger man shifted in the bed, trying to find some sweet spot that didn’t exist. “What I remember is being in an emergency, and having the ladder rig explode, and then being thrown from it. I remember laying on the ground, helpless,” Buck began. “I remember feeling like I was going to die, right there in the street. The one-eighteen couldn’t get to me, the cops were hanging back because of the bomb.
“Then, out of nowhere, like a guardian angel I see this civilian walking towards me. And then I realize it’s not a civilian, Bobby, it’s you. And even though my body was screaming in pain, I wasn’t afraid of dying. Because you were there. You walked away from safety and into the line of fire, because you were determined to save me. You were there to protect me, and you have never once failed me.”
“Evan,” Bobby dabbed at his tears with his sleeve, clearing his throat before he continued. “Aside from yesterday, there has been one other time in my life where I felt that terrified and helpless. And that was the night of the fire, the night that Marci, Bobby, and Brook died. For a long time after they died, I told myself I would never let anyone get that close to me again … but then it happened. Because I let you in, Buck. And you are like a son to me. I don’t know what I would have done if-” Bobby let out a shallow gasp, “-if I lost you, like I lost them.”
“You didn’t lose me, Bobby,” Buck reminded him, meeting Bobby’s gaze and realizing just how lucky he really was, “and you never will. I promise.” Somehow he had been lucky enough to find Bobby as a father figure, this man who would give everything without hesitation to help him. To save him. Buck didn’t want to even consider how things might have played out if Bobby hadn’t been there to intervene.
“You know, I wasn’t the only one in the line of fire yesterday,” Bobby reminded him, his thoughts going to the other firefighter who had been intimately involved in the nightmare of the day before. If Bobby had been a less observant man, he wouldn’t have seen the flash of emotion that burned in Buck’s eyes. “He’s been really worried about you, kid.”
Buck thought of Eddie’s face, recalling the broken look it had worn yesterday throughout the entire ordeal. “I don’t know what I would have done if the roles had been reversed.”
Bobby hesitated, as though he were struggling with something. “Maybe this near-death experience is a good opportunity to make sure you don’t have any regrets.”
“Cap-”
“You don’t have to explain it to me, Buck.” Bobby paused as he thought about the way that Eddie had looked at Buck the day before, like if he lost him the earth might as well open up and swallow him whole. The same way Bobby felt about a life without Athena. “But, would you have been okay with dying there and never having told him how you feel?”
Buck opened his mouth to speak and then promptly closed it when he realized he didn’t know what to say. Because maybe Bobby was right about this. Or maybe, maybe he was terribly wrong, and bringing those feelings to the surface would irrevocably alter their friendship forever. “I just don’t know if it’s worth the risk,” he admitted.
Bobby tried a different approach. “When you look at me and Athena, do you ever think to yourself how much better off we’d be if we hadn’t admitted our feelings for each other? If we had never taken that risk?”
“What? No, but … Eddie and I, it’s more complicated than that,” Buck stammered, “he’s got Chris, and-”
“And Athena has May and Harry, and we’ve built this amazing family. I think that you’re selling yourself, and Eddie, short. And maybe he’s not ready for anything right now, but having your feelings out in the open for when he is ready, where’s the harm in that?”
Bobby watched the protests on Buck’s tongue dissipate. He smiled down at the man that he considered a son. “You did say that I’ve never failed you before, Buck. And I promise, I’m not going to fail you now.”
At those words, a brilliant smile spread across Buck’s otherwise blemished face. If there was anyone who could help Buck find beauty and love in amongst the fallout of the anger and hatred that had consumed Freddie Costas, Bobby could.
And he did.

Draft Day Hauls: Every NHL Team’s Best Draft
The NHL Entry Draft has seen many shrewd picks as well as some mega-busts. Today I am focusing on the best. Presented here is every NHL team’s best overall haul of players from a single draft. Drafts following the 2015 NHL Entry Draft have been excluded from this list, as many prospects have not had sufficient time to make an impact in the NHL yet. Also, this list does not factor in whether or not players selected played for their respective franchises.
Anaheim Ducks- 2003
The Ducks’ best player in franchise history, Ryan Getzlaf, was selected at the number fifteen slot, followed by future Rocket Richard winner Corey Perry. Both would help bring a championship to Anaheim in 2007. Rounding out the draft is Drew Miller and Shane O’Brien.
Arizona Coyotes- 2004
The Yotes have had a tough time building through the draft for many years, but they did nab Blake Wheeler in the 04′ draft, along with journeyman Daniel Winnik. Too bad they didn’t see his talents blossom in Arizona.
Boston Bruins- 2006
The Bruins struck gold in 06′, selecting Phil Kessel, Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand, despite only selecting six players in the draft.
Buffalo Sabres- 1982
This draft brought Phil Housley and Dave Andreychuk to the Sabres, cementing their core for the next decade.
Calgary Flames- 1984
This draft was filled with star power, as the Flames took Gary Roberts, Brett Hull and Gary Suter. Roberts and Suter would help the Flames to a Stanley Cup championship in 89′. Overshadowed by these players is Paul Ranheim, who would go on to play over 1000 career NHL games.
Carolina Hurricanes- 2010
This draft stands as the best for the Canes, although none of the players selected remain with the club today. They include Jeff Skinner, Justin Faulk and Frederik Andersen.
Chicago Blackhawks- 2003
This one narrowly beat out the 1980 draft that produced Denis Savard and Steve Larmer. The 03′ draft is known as one of the deepest in NHL history, and the Hawks certainly got their share of players from it. Brent Seabrook and Corey Crawford played vital roles in Chicago’s dynasty from 2010 to 2015, while Dustin Byfuglien helped out the first run.
Colorado Avalanche- 2009
The Avs scored in 09′, selecting Matt Duchene, Ryan O’Reilly and Tyson Barrie with just seven picks. Unfortunately, this wave of players couldn’t save the Avs from falling down a dark path, culminating in the worst post-lockout season in NHL history in 2016-17, leading to all three players being shipped in succession.
Columbus Blue Jackets- 2002
Rick Nash single-handedly made the 02′ draft the best in Blue Jackets history, making it all the more obvious how disappointing many of their drafts have been over the years. Nash holds the franchise records for games played, goals, assists and points.
Dallas Stars- 1993
With their first two picks as a franchise in Dallas, the Stars selected Todd Harvey and Jamie Langenbrunner. Not bad. Langenbrunner would go on to win the cup with the Stars and New Jersey Devils, as well as captain the 2010 United States Olympic Team.
Detroit Red Wings- 1989
Picking the Wings’ best draft is a tough call, but the 89′ draft was a special one, one that foreshadowed the dominant era of the Red Wings in the late 90s and early 00s. The Wings nabbed Nicklas Lidstrom, Sergei Federov, Mike Sillinger and Dallas Drake, who all played 1000 games or more, as well as Vladimir Konstantinov, who almost certainly would have done the same, had he not tragically suffered brain trauma in an automobile accident. A truly legendary class of players.
Edmonton Oilers- 1979 and 1980
This one was just too close to choose one over the other. The 79′ crop, featuring Mark Messier, Kevin Lowe and Glenn Anderson, produced a staggering combined total of 3418 points, while the 80′ class, featuring Paul Coffey, Jari Kurri and Andy Moog, came just behind with 3375 points.
Florida Panthers- 2010
The Panthers don’t have a stellar track record at the draft, but they had themselves a fairly deep draft in 10′, selecting depth players Zach Hyman and Joonas Donskoi, Alex Petrovic and Nick Bjugstad. Of course, they also selected Erik Gudbranson third overall, which hasn’t exactly panned out for the Panthers but he does have over 500 NHL games under his belt.
Los Angeles Kings- 1980
All but three of the Kings twelve picks in the 80′ draft played in the NHL. Kings greats Larry Murphy, Bernie Nicholls and Steve Bozek were among them.
Minnesota Wild- 2000
The Wild saved their best for first, as their first-ever draft saw the additions of sniper Marian Gaborik and defensive D-man Nick Schultz, mainstays of the franchise through their early years. Gaborik is the Wild franchise leader in goals.
Montreal Canadiens- 1984
Montreal was right on the money with their first four picks, selecting Petr Svoboda, Shayne Corson, Stephane Richer and Patrick Roy in succession. All would play over 1000 games with the Habs, and Roy went on to become one of the greatest goaltenders in the history of the game.
Nashville Predators- 2003
The Preds found two huge cornerstones to build around in 03′, stealing Ryan Suter and Shea Weber in the first and second rounds. They also picked up Kevin Klein in round two, a steady stay at home defenseman.
New Jersey Devils- 1994
The 94′ draft brought a nice blend of players to the Devils, including 1000 point man Patrik Elias, defenseman Sheldon Souray and Steve Sullivan. Elias has become a Devils all-time great.
New York Islanders- 1977
Legendary scorer Mike Bossy was gifted to the Islanders at 15th overall, along with John Tonelli, an effective point producer through the Islanders’ dynasty years.
New York Rangers- 1990
The Blueshirts nabbed Doug Weight, recent Hall of Fame inductee Sergei Zubov and Sergei Nemchinov. Zubov and Nemchinov helped the Rangers capture their 94′ championship.
Ottawa Senators- 2001
Senators all-time great Jason Spezza was selected at 2nd overall, but there was a good depth to this draft. Tim Gleason, Ray Emery and Brooks Laich were all selected. Spezza and Emery played pivotal roles in their run to the finals in 07′.
Philadelphia Flyers- 1969
Easily the oldest draft on this list, the Flyers best player in their history, Bobby Clarke, was taken along with Dave Schultz and Don Saleski, who would go on to terrorize opponents as the Broad Street Bullies in the 70s.
Pittsburgh Penguins- 2005
Generational talent Sidney Crosby landed in the arms of the Pens after winning the 05′ draft lottery. To sweeten things up more, the Pens also uncovered blueline cornerstone Kris Letang in the third round. The rest is history.
St. Louis Blues- 1976
The Blues ran away with future franchise all-time point leader Bernie Federko, Brian Sutter, Mike Liut and Mike Eaves.
San Jose Sharks- 1997
The selection of Patrick Marleau at 2nd overall marked the start of a new era of Sharks hockey. The Sharks also added Scott Hannan, who played 18 seasons as a reliable defensive rearguard.
Tampa Bay Lightning- 1998
The forward core of the 2004 Lightning championship squad came right from the 98′ draft, where the Bolts walked away with two of the best two centres in the draft in Vincent Lecavalier and Brad Richards.
Toronto Maple Leafs- 1970
Leafs legend Darryl Sittler was selected 8th overall, along with Errol Thompson. In a few years, one of the more recent Leafs draft crops will surely surpass those of the past.
Vancouver Canucks- 1999
Who could ever forget Sedin twins Daniel and Henrik being selected back to back by the Canucks? Easily the best players in franchise history, they nearly won Vancouver their first-ever title in 2011.
Vegas Golden Knights- none
Vegas’s first draft was in 2017, but there are some promising names in that crop.
Washington Capitals- 2004
Generational sniper Alex Ovechkin joined the Caps, ushering in an exciting new era of hockey in the NHL. The Caps also selected offensive defenseman Mike Green, who anchored the Washington blueline through the first years of the Ovechkin era.
Winnipeg Jets- 2011
The Jets made a shrewd selection with their first-ever draft pick as the Winnipeg Jets, selecting Mark Scheifele 7th overall. They also added depth centre Adam Lowry with their next pick.

Tonight is a Must Win
Tumblr media
You’ve heard that phrase all over the Rangers locker room between yesterday and today but it doesn’t make it any more true.
The New York Rangers, if you ask me, have played well enough in this series to be up 3-0 but due to a flukey goal and mere minutes of distracted minds, the Blueshirts found themselves in a 2-0 hole and needing a desperate change.
By dropping Holden and Staal to the third pair and moving Smith and Skjei up, as well as adding Tanner Glass and scratching Pavel Buchnevich, the team came out flying on Tuesday and dismantled the Senators. Ask for a goal and you received. Tallies were from Zuccarello, Grabner, Nash and Lindberg. The Senators lone goal was the result of an incredible back pass from Bobby Ryan to Pageau. However, that singular tally was all the Senators had in them at the Garden that night.
Mika Zibanejad played the game we’ve always known he is capable of on Tuesday as well. While he stayed off the score sheet, he was all over the ice, making plays and driving hard to the net. If he keeps this up tonight, I expect to see a big Z-bad tally going up tonight.
Also - has anyone seen JT Miller and Kevin Hayes? Time to step up boys or I’ll be putting your face on a milk carton soon.
There’s no doubt that tonight the Senators will be coming strong, wanting revenge but it’s up to the Rangers to shut that down immediately because how you start defines your night and if the Sens come up big in the first, it will be difficult to climb back.
Keys to tonight? Physicality has got to keep coming. Bobby Ryan and Zack Smith both left the game banged up on Tuesday and the Rangers were largely outhitting the Sens all game. Keeping up that pressure will be key in boxing the Sens in their own zone and out of ours.
Hank has got to be on his best. There’s no question that these playoffs have been spectacular for the veteran goaltender but he’s got to come up with that extra save when the defense collapses, as it likes to do on this Rangers squad.
Let’s see the October Rangers team come out to play a bit. Anyone else remember back in the start of the season when the Rangers were just shelling teams? Five-goal games were totally normal and Papa Johns investors were hating themselves. If the Rangers forward depth can bring that offensive power every game day, we won’t have a problem.
Limiting Karlsson. This is self explanatory. He does amazing things when he’s got puck possession so we have to intelligently smother him so we don’t pull a Washington Capitals (get it?)
With a loss tonight, the Rangers would sink into a deep 3-1 hole and would have their backs against the wall and while the Rangers have emerged from that hole before victorious, I’d rather see them play the game they are fully capable of playing and finish this series out in six and take on round three with confidence.
Let’s Go Rangers!!
Believe in Blue

Diamond Dallas Page: Positively Living
Earlier this year three-time WCW World Champion, master of the Diamond Cutter and yoga sensei, Diamond Dallas Page received his long overdue home video biography from WWE with the release of Diamond Dallas Page: Positively Living (trailer). The biography is only a little over an hour, but it surprisingly hits almost all the notable points of his life and career, and the collection receives the standard extra feature treatment with several hours of bonus matches spanning his entire career. The brief time spent on Page’s childhood years growing up is an inspirational watch as he explains how he had to overcome hurdles such as ADD, Dyslexia and a car wreck at age 12 that wrecked his knee. Page explains how the car wreck left only sport left for him to play was basketball and stated how he was awful at it initially but over many years of practice made the high school’s starting squad. From personal life to professional life it goes to show the theme here is hard work pays off.
I recall reading how DDP was in the night club business, and Page goes into how he spent most of his 20s running night clubs and experimented with wrestling briefly before an injury in his second match got him to exit the business for the time and go back to the club scene. Even though they are now divorced, many fans remember DDP’s ex-wife Kimberly being a big part of his career as his on-TV manager, and WWE interviewed her for the video and she goes on to state how they met at one of Page’s bars and how their relationship evolved. I read Page’s autobiography, Positively Page, that came out all the way back when he was still in WCW in 2000 so I am a little familiar with his early life and how he broke into the business, but that was 17 years ago so this BluRay is a handy refresher and I gleamed many new things throughout. If you are unfamiliar with Page’s journey you may be surprised to learn he broke into the wrestling scene late, and did not make a TV debut until some connections from the night club scene landed him a manager gig in the AWA in 1987 when he was 30. They have clips of his manager tryout video which are awesomely-cheesy, and they are included in their entirety in the extras. WWE interviewed Scott Hall, Eric Bishoff, Terry Taylor and Goldust about meeting DDP in the clubs and helping him land his first job in the AWA.
DDP spent his first five years in the business as a manager in AWA, FCW and WCW, and even had a Wrestlemania VI cameo that DDP reveals on how it came to be. Hearing Page’s story on why he took up wrestling at age 35 and making his proper in-ring debut at the end of 1991 is one of the highlights of the documentary. It seems like an impossible task to start training at that age, but over the years Page kept plugging away and kept putting in the time to get better and the results are easily apparent over the years on how he became a top player in WCW. The documentary spends a little time with him progressing over this time, but the extra features are where it is more noticeable where they include a couple matches from each year of Page’s career. Page’s memories and respect for Dusty Rhodes are among my favorite parts of the bio. Page loves him, and I was all ears for the few big Dusty stories Page peppers out throughout the biography on how Dusty helped him out and motivated him throughout his career. A lot of time is spent on Page emerging as a breakout main event star in WCW in 1997 by feuding with the nWo and his intense rivalry with Randy Savage that lead to a classic series of matches with him. Hearing Page relive his success with Macho Man had me nostalgic for that era and that rivalry was one of the few things WCW did right among their ‘Monday Night War’ success. Ditto with Page recounting his super-successful run teaming with Karl Malone to take on Dennis Rodman and Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach ‘98. I had no idea until hearing Page state here that it was WCW’s highest grossing PPV of all time.
The documentary moves along to DDP winning his first WCW World Title at Spring Stampede ‘99 and Page has a good tale on how he met his goal to reach that milestone. I was not so surprised Positively Living skips the final two years of his WCW career since that was when WCW was in a downward spiral to its demise, but there were still a few interesting DDP moments from that era I would have liked to hear Page comment officially on such as his other celebrity team-ups with Jay Leno and David Arquette and DDP’s time teaming with his friends Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Kanyon in the Jersey Triad faction. Additionally, the Ready to Rumble film is a guilty pleasure of mine and I would have loved to hear DDP’s memories of being the primary WCW wrestler used in the movie. This clip from a shoot video interview will have to suffice instead. His final year in his full time career where he jumped to WWE following the WCW buyout is briefly touched on, and Page tongue-in-cheek admits he was not too big on how the whole ‘stalker’ character was handled but stated he tried his best to make it work. I am a big fan of his ‘positive’ character he introduced later on in 2001 and DDP said he was too and how it was an amped up version of himself. Kimberly has a nice memory of Page walking in and out as a champion at Wrestlemania X8 was a good bookend to his career.
Fans of DDP knows Page has had a ton of success post-wrestling with his yoga business. DDP & Kimberly go into detail about forming the yoga business after yoga helped DDP recover from injuries and after a couple rough early years their hard work turned DDP Yoga into a big success. I am glad they do not gloss over this part of DDP’s life as it has been tremendous for him and the countless others he has helped in the proceeding years. I vividly recall hearing how DDP was starting his yoga business and immediately scoffed at it and all the clichés that go with yoga. Then I heard and saw the success stories (DDP helping Jake Roberts in this Netflix doc is must-see!) of it with wrestlers like Scott Hall and Jake Roberts. Finally, after hearing Chris Jericho vouch for it on how it helped him recover from a back injury last year I took the plunge and ordered the DDP Yoga DVDs when I was dealing with some shoulder issues. After a few weeks I was surprised at how much better the shoulder and my general well being improved. Now, a year later I still routinely do DDP Yoga three times a week. The documentary has a nice final chapter where DDP and his current wife Brenda are interviewed about how they met and how DDP is a proud stepfather. The WWE production crew also capture DDP’s genuine raw reaction to Triple H calling him and informing him that he would be inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame class in a emotional scene that once again proves that DDP’s mantra of hard work does indeed pay off. I went into a lot of detail than I anticipated for an hour long documentary, but DDP was one of my ‘Monday Night War’ favorites and for the most part I like how this biography was handled.
There are 22 matches to indulge in the extras, or 27 if you go the BluRay route. Again, I really like how the first several matches feature Page in his early part of his career teaming with other before-they-were-stars talent such as Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Raven, Cactus Jack and Buff Bagwell in the early 90s. DDP is very green, but the matches just go to show for far he improved over the years. He has some breakout matches from 1997 in here that established him as a main event player with bouts against Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan and Curt Hennig. His standout PPV headlining encounter with Bill Goldberg from Halloween Havoc ‘98 is here in all its glory, and to this day I still think DDP got the most out of Goldberg in the ring. Both of DDP’s celebrity tag matches from 1998 are in here where he tags with Malone and Jay Leno. The match with Malone actually has some surprisingly decent action, and Jay Leno is wisely only used for comedy spots (minus his armbar of doom). Not-so-surprisingly his tag match with David Arquette is not included. A couple of excellent US Title matches with Bret Hart are however, as well as both matches that saw him lose and regain the title from Sting on the same night (I will never forget being there live for those two matches and going nuts for that first match against Sting!). The extras close with DDP’s successful European title defense against Christian at Wrestlemania X8. I give Positively Living the highest of recommendations. Minus a few nitpicks mentioned above, I was really happy with the biography since it covers almost all the major parts of his personal and professional life thoroughly and it has nearly most of his major matches included as well as a few hidden gems. Whether you were an avid fan of DDP or not, his unorthodox journey and inspiring message is one that should be witnessed by all fans. Things I did not expect to get angry over on Father’s Day of all days:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I seriously have no words for how beyond cruel, heartless, and terrible this is!
Like... most of the replies on the 911 account’s Father’s Day tweet being about Buck was annoying, but this is truly despicable!
First of all, the implication that somebody stops being a father just because his children die is cruel beyond belief. Once you are a father, you are always a father. (and we aren’t going to discuss the exception of absent/bad father’s here because we all know that Bobby was neither).
Bobby loved his children with everything he had, but he had a terrible illness (addiction) that consumed him, and because of that mistakes were made and he suffered a loss no parent should ever have to suffer. He suffered a loss so cruel that he did not want to live anymore, and was legitimately going to kill himself once he felt he had atoned for the lives he felt he took, even though he wasn’t at fault.
There is no greater torture than having to outlive your own children, and there is no greater cruelty than for someone to tell a grieving parent that they have stopped being a parent just because the other part of the equation is gone.
And that also completely erases how much he has stepped into May and Harry’s lives as their stepdad. He didn’t raise them, but he loves them as if they were his own. They aren’t just the kids of his wife. They are his kids!
And the real life implications of this are truly despicable as well.
Bobby isn’t real, so his feelings can’t be hurt by these cruel tweets. But what about the real life dads who dread this day every single year because they lost their child, and what should be a day to celebrate has turned into a cruel reminder of everything they lost. What about the real-life dads who have stepped up as a stepdad to their spouse’s children. Are they suddenly not fathers either?
What if there was a man in real life who lost his children, and he was able to find some measure of comfort through the character of Bobby and how he was able to find love with his new family after such a loss. What if that real life person saw these tweets? What if he saw these tweets about how Bobby isn’t a father just because he lost his children. Suddenly, those comments become even more cruel now, don’t they?
Fathers are so important! That’s why the absent father is such a horrible thing. And suddenly a father who wants to be there, a father who lost more than any person in the world should ever have to lose, a father who could have used his pain as an excuse to not step up and love his stepkids as wholeheartedly as he does... suddenly he’s not actually a father.
And it’s disgusting.
And on Father’s Day of all days...

Friendly reminder that Bobby Nash is and always will be a father and that he is an amazing stepfather to May and Harry Grant and that he deserves a place on any and every post or tweet that honors fathers

the day that buck/buddie stans stop babying buck and making everyone out (especially bobby) as these big bad bullies is the day i’ll know peace
Unfortunately, I don't think you will ever know peace (nor will I)
It's seriously so frustrating because canon Buck, as frustrating as his lack of growth can be sometimes, is a genuinely likable character. But fandom has taken him and turned him into this... person who he is not, and to accomplish that they have to make everybody else awful people!
And I'm sorry? But if Bobby was the awful bully that they like to pretend he is, the 118 would not trust him as fully and completely as they do. If he was the person they pretend he is, Buck would not love him and respect him and look up to him as much as he does. If he was the awful bully they like to pretend he is, do they really think Athena would have married him???
They want Buck to be a victim so bad that they twist all of his beautiful relationships into... basically Stockholm Syndrome, and turn the people he loves into monsters.
And that is a disservice to Buck, it's a disservice to Bobby, to Maddie, to Chim, to Jee, and it's a disservice to the show!
And the end result is that they start getting less! Their entitlement and bullying made most of the cast and crew just stop doing anything on social media, and even in the show itself they are getting less. Why would Tim and the writer's room want to spend time writing stuff for b*ddie when they know that shippers are just going to twist it into something it's not and then scream that it's q*eerbaiting?

i thought you might wanna know but @/vicepresidentgoldenrod took a screenshot of one of your post about taylor and bobby being friends and basically said you didn’t care about bobby, and that you basically use him as a prop/doll…..like if they actually went through your account they would see that you’re one of the only ones who actually genuinely cares about bobby as a character
lol yeah I saw that. Here I thought all the anti Taylors in my inbox were funny, but this one takes the cake!
Like??? I didn't realize wanting to see Bobby be friends with Taylor and see a scene that shows off how both of them have grown over time means I'm using him as a prop.
But honestly? If what I do is using Bobby as a prop/doll then buddies are MORE than welcome to do the same!
I'd LOVE it if they'd do with Bobby what I do with him - actively root for a massive story arc for him to the extent that I've convinced half the fandom it's happening, defend him from anybody and everybody who tries to vilify him, defend him from people who try to use him as a prop (this applies to both that "Bobby Knows" bs and to people insisting Taylor is evil for what she did to him in season 2), create an EXTENSIVE and consistent headcanon for him and his life pre-fire, etc. etc. etc. If they did all of that instead of constantly do nothing with him but 1) vilify him or 2) use him as proof of their ship, I'd be thrilled and would not have any beef with any of them.
And... okay so that user doesn't have a whole lot of stuff on their blog, but the fact that the ONLY thing on their blog or in their likes that has anything to do with Taylor is that screenshot... yeah Imma guess that they aren't coming from a place of wanting to join my Taylor Kelly Defense Squad, and are really just trying to use Bobby as a reason to hate on her... ironically using my post as a prop.

Bobby doesn't care for Taylor one bit, he cares for Buck very much, if this bring some stability to him, Bobby is going to support it. True is Bobby didn't want to talk with Taylor even before she tried to screw hin over, and is still unclear if he knows she wanted screw him over very, very much.
... Did... did you not watch Dosed?
It's explained EXPLICITLY in that episode that Bobby doesn't want to talk to Taylor, NOT because he dislikes her, but because "to him, we're not the story. We're just here to make sure no story ends before it should."
And frankly? Even when he thought that Taylor's story WAS going to be about how he'd lost his sobriety what was upsetting wasn't that he thought Taylor was going to do that. What was upsetting him was that - regardless of HOW he fell off the wagon - he wanted to get high again. He was upset because all of the work he had accomplished in the past couple of years felt meaningless, because all he wanted was for his pain to go away, for his burden to be lifted, and to get the freeing numbness that comes with being high.
He was never angry at TAYLOR. Hell, he wasn't even angry at the woman who dosed him! He was angry at HIMSELF.
And the fact of the matter is, Taylor has GROWN from that, and Bobby first and foremost is somebody who recognizes growth in people. He has to, or else he himself will never be able to see himself as anything but the man whose mistake killed 148 people. And while he still struggles with that pain it's not healthy to not move forward from that, and part of moving forward is recognizing his own personal growth.
So even if Taylor was completely despicable, even if her actions came from a place where she wanted to exploit Bobby for purely evil reasons... she HAS grown! And Bobby would recognize that, and as such would recognize that growth and not hold a grudge for her past actions.
So yeah I'm sorry, but if you're going to argue that Bobby doesn't like her, then you should take your argument somewhere else. That doesn't fly over here.

Daily reminder that if you actively hate on Bobby or use him as nothing but a prop, you are not allowed to suddenly start defending him as an excuse to hate on women.
And keep it OUT of his tags. Actual Bobby stans respect women as much as he does

i roll my eyes sooooo hard whenever i see that side of the fandom bring up bobby’s name whenever they’re talking about why them hating on taylor is valid, and hey maybe some of them just don’t like her which okay cool, but the second that they bring up bobby’s name to defend their misogyny behavior towards taylor is the second that i no longer read what they have to say because most of those people don’t even care about bobby, they just use/talk about him when it’s convenient for them
Yep, that’s why I usually try to call it out whenever I see it.
Those of us who actually care about Bobby get upset when it happened, but don’t use it as an excuse to be misogynistic.
And frankly? The fact that 99% of these posts come from people who never talk about Bobby at ALL outside of using him as a prop for buddie or a tool to tear down women makes it even more transparent.
If somebody who was clearly a Bobby fan and talked/posted about him a lot said something like that, I’d actually call it a valid criticism because they’re genuinely coming from a place of love for Bobby, not a place of misogyny. But, to nobody’s surprise, no Bobby fan actually pulls that shit.
So yeah I’m sorry, but as captain of the Bobby Nash Defense Squad (as well as the captain of the Taylor Kelly Defense Squad), people are not allowed to join if they’re using it to attack other characters (specifically Taylor), and not to defend Bobby from idiots who try to vilify him.

What are your top five favorite relationships on the show (after Bathena)?
After Bathena? Anon, you hurt me! I want to list them 🥺
(but we all know they're number one so I guess that's fair)
1) Madney
Listen, this show would end if either Peter or Angela decided they wanted to leave, but if for some weird reason it didn't I would stick around for these two. They are so near and dear to my heart and I love them so much.
2) Grant-Nash fam
Honestly? All the iterations of this are so good! Bathena, obviously, but also Bobby with May, Bobby with Michael (and both of them with David), May and Athena, Athena and Michael, etc. etc. I just love their entire family dynamic with every fiber of my being
3) Buckley siblings
These two are the best siblings that have ever been and ever will be on TV ever! They are so good! I love how protective they are of each other, and how much they are genuinely there for each other. They are just... So Good
4) Maddie and Josh
Honestly, everybody needs a friend like Josh. Everybody. I want a friend like Josh. We all want one. But his friendship with Maddie is just so special. I love how they're each other's confidants, and that they're there for each other through thick and thin. I also love how Josh, Chim, and Buck canonically have a group chat which is undoubtedly called the Maddie Buckley Defense Squad.
5) 118/Fire Fam
This show has one of the best found families ever, and I seriously love the relationships between all of the members of the fire fam - even the characters I don't like a whole lot. Also a special shoutout to Bobby and Chim because they are so good and I want so desperately for their friendship to be showcased again in season 5 because it has been sorely neglected for the past few seasons
