"And you call yourself a samurai?", his master's words echoed in Hekiro's mind. His forehead was sweating, his hands were trembling with exhaustion, his knees had touched the earth for the third time. He knew that it was a fight he could not win. "A samurai is nothing without his katana, and you have dropped yours," his disapproving face said it all. "I have told you that it is not a sword, it is a part of your body. How many times have you seen a warrior pull out his arm during a fight? None, right? Well, this is no exception". His master would be proud of him. He had been fighting for hours, to the point that it was almost impossible for him to stand. His forehead was bleeding, his legs were flagging. He had received a multitude of thrusts, a multitude of blows, a multitude of cuts all over his body, and he had held them all without dropping the katana for a single second. And now that he was about to die, he had nothing left to do but smile. He wished that his master would remain a live now that he could call himself a samurai. . .
