So we know, according to Aaravos, that there are things he learned from humans, specifically:

the effect a ripple can have

patience

And we know both of these happened after he was kicked out of Startouch ‘heaven’ (?) but seemingly before the Fall of Elarion, precisely. It seems like it’s early days for humans having primal magic but they haven’t figured out dark magic yet. And we also know from interviews that Aaravos played a part in discovering dark magic, but perhaps didn’t outright create it (with Claudia’s “so he gave us magic” being a partial truth or her own interpretation). So it makes me wonder if when Aaravos fell, and according to the artbook the fall limited his powers, he learned primal magic alongside humans through connections to give himself more power and opportunities than what he could do with star magic. He has his chest piece in the 1x01 intro which is decidedly post-Fall of Elarion, so it still leaves my theory that his piece was taken out when he was imprisoned by the archdragons viable, but we’ll have to see.

I was looking at the shots of the new weapon that looks vaguely like a it came out of discworld and I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something familiar about the giant ball of what looks like materia within it.

This was when I realised it looked a lot like the materia (if that even was what it was) that Minerva had in CC/CCR.

Which was about the point that I realised that this sphere looked familiar too for another reason: it looks a hell of a lot like the hibernation circle thing that Genesis sleeps in after CC.

Which in turn looks a hell of a lot like the protomateria in DoC, a special 'one of a kind' materia like the white and black materias. In this case, instead of being able to destroy or save the planet or weild the abilities of a Weapon.

We know that Genesis found the red globe goddess materia and activates it shortly before taking his avatar form. Another interesting point is that the purple stone (likely independent materia) is exchanged for a red one - a summon materia - when he becomes Genesis Avatar after the materia absorbs a crap ton of the lifestream.

So here's my question/theory: does Genesis still have this Goddess materia and if he does, is it another core materia like the black, white and protomateria? If it is, is this materia essentially the summon of the Lifestream's guardian and is this why Genesis can hibernate in a way that's not dissimilar to the weapons, only waking when the need arises?

What is your headcanon on the cycle, and specifically, how it relates to iterators etc?

if you mean the death/rebirth cycle and not the time measurement cycle—personally i think it is not something i or anyone can make concrete sense of. it is not something to be understood (and hell rw worldbuilding and dialogue sure don’t make it fucking easy)—just that there’s A Cycle, or Cycles, and things die but then they get reborn again. Unless they don’t …..😳 or do they ? haha … i mean what if soemtimes they didn’t though … but also everyone is in the cycle(?) But it’s not everyone(????) like if i’m honest i think we’re just meant to take it as it is. but i guess if i had to try and make sense of this vague ass nebulous concept Somehow i would say like …. you can wake back up again as long as you have a body to return to. if that’s gone? guess you’re gone gooooodbyeee. or maybe you get reborn as some other thingie creature. shrugs

for iterators: from what i understand they seem to be exempt from the cycle because they’re these manmade half-machine half-biological things that aren’t really Alive in the traditional sense but are still very much organic. still not in the cycle though. they die once enough time passes and they decay and there’s nothing left of their consciousness. and they don’t get reborn

I’ve never been that wild about the existence of a “Vlaakith line” in DND canon. I just think it would go so much harder if current Vlaakith = OG Vlaakith warped beyond recognition by Aeons of Awful, and if they’re going to stick her on a near-timeless plane AND make her an immortal lich anyway… why not? Voss is still kicking around! But the line does exist in lore, so I am Thinking about it.

…I like the idea of Vlaakith I as the prototypical parthenogenetic gith more and more. I assume current githyanki parthenogenesis is magically mediated (which would explain why it doesn’t work like parthenogenesis in the real world), but maybe Vlaakith II’s conception wasn’t. Maybe she was an actual clone of her birth mother, and maybe every Vlaakith since her has been as well. It would definitely fit with that need to hold on to power.

Angemont house and family on my mind. I think it’s never explicitly said to any member of the Angemont line that they’re going to die in a storm of some kind, surrounded by the fury of Talos. For the longest time, the sorcerous bloodline is considered a gift, and is treated as a tool to use to make something great. I think it was Valrissa herself who started to wonder about this gift, and took notes on the deaths in her family. If it was so wonderful, why were untimely demises so common? With a wizard’s teachings and a natural cunning, she started thinking of ways to succeed where her ancestors failed before her. (In her opinion, she just had to *be better* and *do things smarter* than before — but it was still ambition, I think, that drove her.)

I think Ren finds these notes when he returns home after the events of the game. He picks up where his mother left off, and catalogues stories of his family in hopes to learn how to fix things. It’s a hell of a lot to try and do.

Apologies if this is a weird thing to ask and feel free to ignore this. Is there a reason Rosie abused Quentin sexually? Like, did she do it because she believed having children would be doing God's work?

Not weird, i just usually don’t talk much about these aspects in my story on main because i feel bad just randomly bringing them up unprompted! But feel free to ask about stuff!

There were a few reasons, one of them being the one you listed. When Rosie was young, she was also groomed by an older 14-15 year old boy(he was a preachers son which also started her obsession with religion) and she never really got over that after her family moved away to Wyoming, and still believed it was love years later. (Unfortunately, thats just how those things tended to be perceived back then.) Later on, when Quentin got to the age of that boy and started looking a bit like him, Rosie found herself wanting to hurt him and hating him for it, but also being attracted to him. She already had strange beliefs about religion and her own bloodline, so used these religious views to justify her abuse to herself and to him, saying that neither of them could be with anyone else because their family was too holy to intermingle with other ones, and like you said, that having their own children would be gods work. Anyways thank FUCK that never happened lol

I've reblogged this before! It reminded me of a lot of loonaverse elements, primarily Yves, and Vivi to an extent. Yves because I think at the start of her narrative, she mistakenly thinks that her disobedience to God is her own free will, despite it being part of God's plan. Yves, and the people she has dragged along with her, are running in circles [insert Kim Lip running in Girl Front imagery] across the mobius shaped timeloops, starting over and over again, thinking this time they get to carve out a new destiny for themselves, the right destiny, without realising they're marching linearly toward The End (the Apocalypse?), as planned. At some point they will have to Get Off The Track - it's the only way they'll break the cycle.
