I have this headcanon that Sabo is the one who wrote his name on all his clothes, and the reason he did so is because Ace, being a sibling, would CONSTANTLY take Sabo’s shirts, even if he had clean ones nearby. Why? Because all siblings do that.

They can have a full closet of clothes and still wear their siblings stuff, and since Ace and Sabo were the same age and size it was pretty easy. Sabo would call Ace out on it but Ace, being a little shut, always denied it, so Sabo started writing his name in the collars just to prove a point.

"You're wearing my shirt again."

"Am not, this one's mine."

"No, it's not, I specifically remember, that's the shirt with the front pocket that Makino gave me because I was the only one who didn't try to tear off the buttons!"

"No, she gave this one to me because I said I liked the color!"

Sabo left most of those shirts behind when Outlook brought him back to Goa, and of course when he "died".

Ace still had the same habit of grabbing Sabo’s shirts to wear instead of his own, because it was fun to get a rise out of Sabo and start an argument. Even though there was no one to argue with anymore. He kept wearing Sabo’s shirts because it made him feel closer to his brother.

And if he cried the first time he saw Sabo’s name scribbled on his shirt collar, it's not like anyone saw, so he'll deny it if you ask.

I’ve been talking a lot about borrowers au so let’stalk about cult? Au might change the name. So branch’s brothers are definitely worse than in canon, one big reason for this is because of jd’s perfectionist personality is turned up to 100 he’s an overbearing older brother who micromanages all his brothers lives. He’s gone to extreme lengths to make sure that they all stay inline with their band images. Which puts a lot of pressure on the boys especially branch seeing as he’s the youngest and newest member.

This doesn’t help when two out of four your brothers treat you like a coworker and not a sibling. One who basically controls your entire life and what you wear, eat, sleep and even how you breathe is criticized. And the brother who you think is the one who truly loves and cares for you tells you, you were the worst thing to happen to them and if you were never born everyone would have been better off and then he leaves you… yeah that’s gonna mess anyone up.

Also viva and clay don’t get separated in this au so clay kinda goes about ignoring branch’s existence which definitely makes branch even more bitter and resentful.

you know i must have been bone-tired when this part of the herb brides lore didn't come to my mind when i discussed how the Kin fundamentally differs from the cultures it is inspired by um There Is The Human Sacrifice part. like it's an important part of pathologic 2 that you are doing human, or anthropomorphic (if you want to see the Herb Brides as closer to spirits, which comes with its own set of problematics regarding how to approach their oppression) sacrifice. it's an important part of pathologic 2 that you kill a woman, as part of the journey and in direct resonance with you ritualistically killing cattle earlier, and she offers herself to you with cultural and religious significance.

human sacrifices have been done across the globe for millennia, but i cannot, for the life of me, find any source at all that mentions the Buryats (since that was the discussion point) partaking in human sacrifices by the turn of the 19th-early 20th century (or even anything past the 16th). every single source mentioning offerings and sacrifices i've read mentions animals, things such as milk and vodka, and often both at once. would love to read anything about these rituals if papers exist, but i'm personally drawing a blank.

the Kin has Obvious and very Visible influences but it also differs from specific (in this discussion's case, the Buryats) or wider (here, turkic/mongolic as a whole) cultures from the area by so many pieces, big and small, that i wouldn't have enough appendages on my whole body to count them all. and sister. i have plenty of appendages.
