hii!! i already send an ask about the deity readings BUT i realized that my question was more of a yes/no question and you don't answer that kind of questions so i think im gonna change it a bit
my name is melanie, she/her. my question is for apollo, with the tarot deck of murder crows please!!
if he's around me what kind of devotion should i do to him? how can i get close to him?
i've been having the hardest of times trying to get to know a deity that i feel in my bones, is around me but i just don't know who it is and i would love to know if apollo is the one or ares or freyja or morana or lucifer or thanatos or...idk any of the other deities i once had a little connection with i know you don't answer yes or no questions so it's okay, it's up to meto figure it out but i recently felt a connection with apollo again cuz i have felt it before idk if hes around or not but if he is i would like to know how can i get close to him and what he would like me to do. again if he's not the one around then its okay!! at least i can know for sure it's not him and i can keep looking for the right one even if it takes me a while.
thank you sm!!! i hope you can see this one first and not the other ask haha have a great day jasper!! (love your name btw)
Hey there Melanie, welcome to the ask box! I love your name too!
Before I get to the reading, I'd like to reassure you that you don't have to devote yourself to a deity in order to worship them, and you don't have to work with them forever and ever if it feels like it's time to step away. I talk more about it in my deity work tag on @jasper-pagan-witch if you'd like to peruse that and my Apollo tag!
With all that out of the way, let's get to the reading! I went ahead and split it into two questions.
Question 1: How would you prefer to be worshiped by Melanie? Answer 1: The Devil
In the darkened halls of the demon lord Malphas, the night closes in around you - blinding you to what is before and behind you. Now the world is only what you can feel, what you can touch and taste. You hear only what the shadow whispers to you. There is much pleasure to be found, here where the senses dominate, but the shadow uses your pleasure and relief to forge a golden chain that imprisons your free will. The longer you listen, the harder it is to block the sounds, the harder it will be to regain your own mind.
In this deck, the Devil's keywords include domination, addiction, valuing flesh and the material world above all else, seeking pleasure, and giving in to the Shadow. I go more into detail about the Devil card here as part of my deep-dive into Major Arcana cards.
Even though I directed this question directly to Apollo, I'm gonna be honest, this card doesn't feel "Apollo" to me at all. Even stretching it to mean something along the lines of "worshiped first and foremost", overall it just doesn't feel Apollo to me.
Comparing it to the list you gave me, I think the name it maps best to is Morana, but I don't know for sure because I've literally never heard of her until now. It's probably not Lucifer, but I'm just generally not sure as I'm not familiar with Lucifer as a deity (I'm more used to him as, ya know, Satan, not a god) or Morana at all. Perhaps it's worth you looking more into and getting more readings in the future?
Question 2: How can Melanie become close with you? Answer 2: the Chariot, Strength (jumping card)
Because this question ended up getting two cards because I dropped my entire fucking deck, I won't write out the visualization/meditation prompts for these two cards and instead jump straight into the meanings. I directed this question directly to Apollo just like the last one.
The Chariot's keywords include victory, movement, travel, vehicles, power over others, exerting control over the external world, conquest, and vengeance. Strength is associated with power from within, overcoming the inner saboteur, mastering restraint, and wrestling with the Shadow.
What I'm gathering from here is that you can become closer to Apollo by facing your doubts and learn to control them, not bend to their whim. I got the feeling from the other message as well (which I read to get more information for the reading). Considering Apollo tends to come out victorious in some of his mythological exploits (cough, the music contest), winning at something you enjoy could also draw you closer to him.
Overall, I feel like I dropped the ball with this reading, because I as the tarot reader have come away more confused and frustrated than I started. I apologize for this reading not being the best, especially in regards to the first question.
Leave feedback as another ask that I can publish publicly and tell me what parts felt right, if anything felt off, stuff like that. Until you do, you will be added to my greylist. Please reblog my normal reading guidelines!

La Mort
I was given my tarot (de Marseille) when I was 13. It was kind of a family tradition. As soon as I got my deck in my hands, my sister took it from me and searched for the card that has to be the most famous card of the tarot de Marseille : the 13th Major Arcanum.
Tumblr media
She showed it to me and told me something along the lines of “this is not really the Grim Reaper. It is not Death.” I asked her and my father about this card, and I would then read about it for the following years. Turns out, a majority of French tarot practitionners, who traditionaly use the tarot de Marseille, don’t even call it “Death”, as a result of the works published by contemporary occultists in the 19th and 20th centuries.
According to these occultists, this card does not represent Death, and we would be foolish to think otherwise. Turns out, this skeleton reaping actual body parts from a black soil is in fact about transformation, spiritual rebirth, change and refers to the process of transmutation.
At first, this interpretation didn’t really bother me, even though I couldn’t figure out how to interpret the idea of spiritual rebirth in a reading about making money. Plus, the more I would read about tarot, the more I would feel like the notion of this card representing change was quite unsettling, in addition of being redundant : it’s not as if many Arcana Major already were talking about change (la Maison Dieu and la Roue de Fortune being the ones on top of my head).
It did not seem - nor feel - right, in my mind, that a divination tool as popular as tarot didn’t even bother to broach a subject that’s as important as death, suffering etc.
Recently, I discovered again my tarot de Marseille, unveilling new interpretations, that I found far more pertinent than any Jodorowsky or Papus interpretation of what some French practitioners (which I used to be part of) call “l’Arcane sans nom” (the Nameless Arcanum). Among these interpretations are : death, accidents, suffering, mourning, grief, rage, destruction, labor, rupture.
It felt so relieving to see actual practitioners with some historical knowledge of the tarot de Marseille come and say : “yeah no it is Death, the only reason it doesn’t have a name on many decks is because there were printing defects.” According to Isabelle Nadolny in Histoire du tarot (2018), the first tarot decks probably come from the great Italian cities of Ferrara, Florence or Milan during the Italian Renaissance. Do you know what was really in during Renaissance ?
Tumblr media
Death. There was a lot of it. Renaissance Italy was far from being the Eden Garden : emerging from the difficult times of the Late Middle Ages, it suffered from wars, outbreaks, starvation and civil unrest, among other plights. Death was everywhere and it showed in the paintings : danses macabres, vanities... Even carnivals had portions of their parades devoted to showing the fate of the unworthy in the Purgatory, under the inquisitorial glance of the Grim Reaper.
This is a far cry from today’s Western society, where everything has to be sugar coated. It is not a surprise then, to see such a tendancy to keep the “Nameless Arcanum” out of its original context so that it can become the promise of a new beginning, of a spiritual initiation of some sort. It is no surprise to see its predictions being minimized, if not entirely transformed in order to fit the common narrative that bad things can’t be a part of the picture.
However, the truth is : you can’t get rid of them. You can’t live without pain. You can’t live without mourning. You can’t get rid of Death. Trying to erase her existence doesn’t change anything, as does the lack of acknowledgment of negative feelings. Once you know some bits on the historical context it appeared in, the so-called “Nameless Arcanum” cannot be mistaken for something else. You can’t just ignore her, take her for something else. She is the Grim Reaper waiting for your fate to unfold. She is the skull that a slave bears behind the victorious imperator during his triumph, whispering to his ears : Memento mori. Remember you will die. You’re a human being : you live, you rejoice, you love (and I wish you all of this btw), but you also suffer, grieve, cry and die.
Witchcraft, magic, divination... should not only focus on the bright side of the story. They are tools you use to interact with the world and life, which are far from being Ponyland. I’m not saying that you should just think solely in terms of pain, death and darkness either. Find a balance. Just like Death takes her due in order to bring balance to the univers (ugh, I feel like Thanos writing these lines), accept that what you may read from the pictures you pick from your tarot deck may not be all sugar canes, chocolates and kittens.
Also, follow your instinct. Sometimes, what seems obvious really just is obvious. I can’t tell you how dumb I felt when I learned the original meaning of this card. It does represent a skeleton reaping actual body parts from a black soil, after all...

apprentice asks, 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 11, 16 I just wanna know everything about Morgana :D (Have I mentioned I love that name btw?)
aeuignefs is this a bad time to mention i’m thinking up another apprentice THANK YOU, MON CHERIE!~
1.) Who is she romancing? I alternate between Muriel and Lucio as the best fits for her. She’s very combative, which in Muriel’s case means she protects the fuck out of him, but in Lucio’s case means she doesn’t put up with any of his (actual) shit. She would threaten to turn him into a goat quite often. What attracts her to them? Muriel is so soft and gentle, she can’t help but want to be there for him. She was on the fence at first about him, but once the attackers in the alley showed up and he just gave in, she realized she would have to stand up for them and from then on it’s just this tiny, squishy woman defending this giant mountain of a man. For Lucio, she thinks he’s funny and cute. A prat and a dick, and when she finds out he’s the reason she died it’s gonna be Fucked Up (tm) but she thinks he’s sweet, deep down. Really it was the way the dogs reacted to him that told her to give him a chance.
2.) What would her route be like? Oh no don’t give me ideas I can’t afford another project aw fuck here we go.
So. I like the idea of her being a palace servant (partially your fault, Shep.) Except she would be a kitchen worker and general cleaner, nothing specific. The MC would meet her when she and Portia come to tell Nadia about a ghost she saw going through one of the portraits. She and Asra are good friends from his time in the palace, so when you mention him, she’s like “Oh! You’re ____?”   From there, she’d help with the mystery.
She’s feisty a lot, so there’s more than a few altercations throughout her route. She’s also very vocal about the people she thinks are attractive, so when/if she meets Morga, Nahara, and Nazali, she’s just like, “Oh... Oh my... Why... Hello” and blushy. With you, she tries to be suave and shit, but she gets shy a lot. You’re encouraged to make the moves with her, but every now and then she’ll sneak in a heated moment.
Her Arcana is The Moon.
(((Meaning: The Moon is a card of illusion and deception, and therefore often suggests a time when something is not as it appears to be. Perhaps a misunderstanding on your part, or a truth you cannot admit to yourself. Upright card (keywords): Difficult period, Insecurity, Mental confusion, Deception, Hidden things, Fear  Reversed card (keywords): Unhappiness, Release of fear, Insomnia, Unusual dreams, Mysteries unveiled)))
She figures everything out pretty quickly, that Julian is innocent, that Lucio is the cause of the plague and that he’s trying to come back, so a lot of her route would be focused on the courtiers because she knows they’re not natural, and she suspects they have a tie to what’s actually going on. During the masquerade, she’ll have fun with you, but after every room she’s like “ok NOW we have to get back to it! Oh look at that--.” When the Devil comes to make his deal, she’s vehemently against it, tries to put herself in between you and him and tells him to shove off.  If you agree to his deal, she’s like “NO WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU, CAN’T YOU SEE THIS IS A TRAP?” Since she’s a fairly good magician, when you’re separated from your body, she magics herself to you to help you through the realms and back to your body and all that.
Her upright ending is y’all defeating the Devil and she and you are living happily in Vesuvia, you in your shop and her working with Nadia to restore the city. (One scene would be her coming home and being nervous, and when you ask her about it she blushes and says it’s stupid, and if you press she takes your hand and asks if you still love her after all this time, and if you tell her yes she’s over the moon and kisses you.)
Her reversed ending, you and her are separated in the new world (is that what happens in all of the reversed endings? I’ve only seen Julian’s. (Nadia’s is unlocked, though, so...soon.)) In her quest to find you, she ended up in the Moon’s realm, but it’s twisted, like an acid trip gone bad. She’s scrubbing an endless amount of pots and pants and sobbing because her hands are bleeding and she just wants to get to you, but she’s shackled to the sink. When you show up, she thinks you’re another illusion and cusses you out, throws a plate at you, and when you tell her it’s really you, she breaks down and struggles to reach you but the chain keeps pulling her back. You have to break the chain yourself to dispel the dream, and she’s just so emotional to have you back that she can’t manage to find words for a solid 4 panels. The last line would be you telling her, “Let’s go home” or “Let’s go find our friends.”
5.) What are some of your apprentice’s minor and major fears? What’s the best way to comfort them when afraid?
Literal/minor fears--she’s deathly afraid of spiders and wary of mirrors. Metaphorical/major fears, she’s terrified that everyone who claims to love her is only putting on a front, that it’s all some big game. A romance? That’s just inconceivable to her. She has to be frequently reassured that the people in her life want to be there. The best thing to do to calm her down, whether it’s because of a big spider or she’s crying because she thinks they don’t actually love her, is just to pull her into a big tight hug and run a hand through her hair.
6.) Does she enjoy dressing up? She doesn’t have many outfits, just 6 really, but she likes a little change every now and then. The Masquerade is really the first time she’s had a reason to Dress Up and she feels like a fucking princess. (With Muriel, she won’t force him into anything he doesn’t want, so the Masquerade is more just looking pretty than acting pretty, but it’s enough with how he looks at her. With Lucio? You best fuckin believe they’re cutting rugs across the entire floor, and she loves feeling like people are watching her.)
9.5 times out of 10, though, she’s just hanging out in a dress. It’s all she can do to brush her hair every morning, what with how much there is.
8.) What would she want as a birthday gift? It would be really hard to get her something she didn’t like, so really anything would be fine. The one thing she regularly asks for is fancy teas from Asra from his travels. Otherwise, she’ll be happy with just some books, maybe a shawl/scarf/cloak. It’s very easy to make her smile.
11.)  How does your apprentice act when meeting new people? Are they outgoing, shy, awkward, aloof? Do they like being the center of attention?
A lot of it is reciprocation. She has an adaptable personality, so if the person she’s talking to is outgoing, she can match it. Naturally, she’s a little shy. If she can’t pick anything up from them, she’ll just kind of introduce herself and stand back to observe the interaction and try to study the person. And if it’s a pretty person? Ho boy, she’s too blushy to speak. (I.e., Nahara and Nazali. She wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Nahara thinks she’s a moron because she just keeps stammering around her.) But if the person she’s with is bold, she’ll feed off that boldness. So, being with Lucio, she’ll be glad to be the center of attention because he’ll be glad of it. Opposite for Muriel.
16.)  Does your apprentice enjoy the luxury of the palace and Nadia’s gifts or do they find it overwhelming?
She’s conflicted. She’s never had much, so she definitely thinks it’s overly extravagant and a little ridiculous. But she likes making people happy, so if Nadia/Lucio get joy from giving her shit, so be it. She does frequently have to take trips into the city to get some fresh air and some fresh perspective of it all, though. She doesn’t want to forget who she is or where she comes from.

Mega Round Up Royal Spoilers
So I ended up finding like, three different streams going at different rates. Out of the three, only two I stayed with. One is mid-late game (Okumura’s Palace from I can recall before they stop playing). One is a Speed Runner and rushing through vanilla Persona 5 stuff to get into the Third semester, only slowing down to read the new updated content.
Thanks to Speed Runner Tim Barry, I was able see much of the game where the second stream hasn’t reach yet (not all, but much). Tim Barry’s stream is the closest stream (to my knowledge) that got close to Third Semester by playing for over 30 hours (part of me think they’re two people because any person would crash after just 12 hours). He finally decided to call it a night and the stream seemingly got nuke by Atlus because he stop on 12/24 before Third Semester even got reach.
I was going to post only Third Semester Stuff, but I’m gonna do a mega roundup of Royal Spoilers up to 12/24 that appeared on the nuked stream (as well as the Second Stream) as a honor for Tim Barry’s service.
There’s a lot of second hand information from either the chat or the spoiler mega thread on the Persona 5 reddit, and information from Second Stream. I think I was able to fill in most blanks. Read under the cut if you’re curious.
Kasumi Spoiler Round Up
Has a twin sister who died in a car accident before the game start
In a slump/downward spiral in gymnastics as a result of her dead sister.
To get something out of the way, and to act as a PSA, someone on TV Tropes added incorrect information abut the twin.
This is the entry- Posthumous Sibling: A recent one at that. A month before Joker arrived in Tokyo, her twin sister was killed in a car accident, heavily implied to be the result of a mental shutdown incident
As of November 1 (when this post is published), I can not find information that gives the implication Kasumi’s twin died as a result of a mental shutdown incident. I have no idea who believed it enough to write it in, but I know that the possible source came when the game broke street date (aka, before official release), being something of a joke (a mess up joke because it’s referring to Wakaba). I mean, who knows for sure in Third Semester, but for now, I’ll assume it’s just a real car accident
Father works at the TV Station, and father knows Goro
This is a bit iffy since Speed Runner Tim Barry’s chat went fast, but from the main translator, Kasumi is on a scholarship at Shujin. In October, the school/a teacher (plans to) revokes her scholarship because she got third place. 3. Third!
Around same time, Kasumi awakens her Persona between Okumura’s Palace and Sae’s Palace (October 3 seems to by the set date when it happens?)
The (Research Facility?) Palace is the Gym Competition Building that is under construction throughout Royal
Kasumi doesn’t join the PT before Goro because she turns down the offer from Joker...and her phone died before the keywords were given so no one is going to check it out 8P
Kasumi apparently tries to join on the 11/25 (I had to leave stream for a bit and I came back a little after it ended) but Mona (and Joker if one apparently pick the option) turn her down due to the danger
Kasumi meets Futaba in this scene. Interesting, in the (Research Facility?) Palace you see that old Kasumi looks a bit like Futaba (Kasumi confirms she wears contacts in Rank 5 I think)
Kasumi Ranks 1 through 5 can be completed before October 3 (?)
Going back to TV tropes, apparently Kasumi’s Arcana change? I didn’t read anything implying that as well, but this I’m willing to believe since it’s likely Kasumi is lock at 5 until a certain point.
Goro Spoiler Round Up
All of Goro’s original automatic Co-Op are still in the game.
Tim Barry and Second Streamer seem to be dead set on doing Goro’s new Co-Op and getting that Goro Content. So, it begs the question: is the original automatic Co-Op is still there, and only activate to players who don’t make an attempt to do the New Co-Op and be doom for Vanilla Good Ending, or did they just promoted the automatic Co-Op to regular plot scenes?
From Rank 2 to Five (I think), Joker has to go to Goro
The messy hair Goro appears in Rank 3, the Cafe from Proof of Justice appears in Rank 4
Rank 6 (I think) through 8 seems to be a mixture of automatic and manual. From what I saw once (and second hand info) Goro has to contact Joker, and Joker have to accept
In Rank 6, Goro reveals his mother is a prostitute. Goro recalls his mother sends him to the bathhouse when she had ‘clients’. Goro apparently never told this part of his life before to anyone
I have no idea if Goro meant his mother, after getting dump by Shido, had to turn to prostitution to support her son, or if he meant Goro is the son of a politician and his lady of the night
Rank 7 I missed completely, so this is all second hand info. It seems Goro ask Joker about joining his side, and Joker answered ‘let me think about it’, and Goro replied with something of the lines  ‘don’t make promises if you can’t keep it’. I have no idea if there was another choice that could lead to some Accomplice Ending.
Rank 8 is interesting. I got to Tim Barry’s stream and caught the aftermath freak out on the chat. Goro thinks that he and Joker fight one on one. Goro loses, and when they leave Mementos...he throws his glove and acts a bit like his Rank 9 and 10 self.
BTW, it’s unknown how Goro reacts if he wins
Nine and Ten are automatically ranked up, and it’s the whole Engine Room Scene, meaning Goro suffers from his MIA fate
HOWEVER, Rank Ten got a redo. Via translations, when Goro is about to go MIA, Goro apparently wants him and Joker to have an eventual rematch, in which Joker can reply with either deciding to keep that promise or something of the lines, ‘i’ll keep your gloves’. I didn’t even think Joker took Goro’s glove. Goro’s animation is apparently also different too. That I couldn’t spot lol.
A little after Goro goes MIA, Joker is on his bed. He thinks of Goro, apparently wondering or not if can see Goro again (?)
The main translator of Tim Barry’s steam is quiet (or gone), and Tim Barry pick the first option. I don’t know who said it, but apparently word got out that he may have pick the wrong choice: to Forget. Cue Major Freak Out by everyone in the chat
Main Translator comes back, and they agree that the first option is to forget Goro’s promise. A civil war happened in the chat if Tim Barry should reload or not, because he was right about to take on Shido. Because Tim Barry is dead set on getting that Goro content, he took the risk of reloading the game, redo about an hour and a bit of gameplay, and pick the second option.
Back to Goro, he won’t say the PT’s name anymore
Main spot is apparently Kichijoji?
Takuto Spoiler Round Up
Is doing research as well as counselling
According to translations, Takuto is dealing with the same stuff as Wakaba: Cognitive research (and of the collective unconscious)
Oh no...
Took care of Kasumi (I assume counseling) because of her sister’s death
Is extremely worry and cares for Kasumi
Seriously. He tried to get the school/teacher to undo their decision of revoking her scholarship.
Obsess with hearts/heartache and happiness.
In one of the Ranks (I don’t know which), it’s reveal he has a former girlfriend who got rob and it affected her big time. What happened to her factor into who/what he is doing now
You apparently meet one of Takuto’s friend in one the Ranks. I have no idea what the friend looks like.
In apparently Rank 10 (don’t trust me with this; I assume 10 because of its content), Takuto tells Joker he knows who are the Phantom Thieves
Or rather, he knows the original members because he spotted them disappearing into thin air (something like that)
And since then, he been indirectly been using them as a way of collecting research or something.
And then he leaves Shujin
Oh nooooo...
Think that’s fishy enough? Takuto was able to meet almost all of the Phantom Thieves members and talk to them. Those at Shujin go to him for a small meeting/counsel
Apparently he visits LeBlanc when everyone goes to Hawaii and that’s how he met Futaba and Morgana
He meets Yusuke at the School Festival
8U I don’t feel so good...
Other Notes of Importance Round Up
So all of the bosses have a new gimmick, as seen with Kamoshida, Madarame, and  Okumura via press material pre-release). I actually haven’t seen much of the Boss Fights, so I won’t go into much detail other than what I seen with my own eyes (except for one)
I swear to God someone better figure out what’s the point of Cognitive!Shiho in Kamoshida’s boss fight I think she serves a possible strategy for Kamoshida like doesn’t Cognitive!Yuki have something akin to that?
Sae: It has something to do with roulette in her second form,  deciding what her attack/weakness (I had no idea what lol I like, entered in the middle of it and the PT won seven minutes later).
Shido: So Shido ‘kills’ Joker’s teammates, and he and Joker have a freaking one on one fight when he’s in his shirtless buff form. Shido got some new powerful skills
I’m utterly disappoint Shido got the one on one boss fight but not Goro and Joker like maybe we’ll be getting it in Third Semester
Sae’s Co-Op is still Automatic (maybe there’s no valentine date after all!)
Ryuji still gets beaten up (COME ON ATLUS GIVE HIM A BREAK!)
You can spot Co-Ops in the BG at times before you meet them
