that’s just canon to me. he’s a boy who loves to monologue. of course he keeps a diary. how else is he gonna keep track of his special interests. where else is he gonna write down his angsty poetry. you know he spent months tracking aang down taking detailed notes on his garb, his fighting style, his flight patterns, and not once ever bothered taking note of his name, even though he easily could’ve learned it from the million times katara screamed it over the course of their fights.

which, if you’ll allow me to go on a tangent, is another thing that bothers me. when ppl are like “zuko learned their names because they all say one another’s names constantly.” and you think that means he actively made an effort to REMEMBER it????? you must be out of your damn gourd if you think that the most one-track minded human being in the history of the universe is paying attention to anything that doesn’t directly interest him in that very moment. but i digress.

i just KNOW that zuko was soo mad that he lost his diary after his ship got blown up by zhao because years of precious poetry and avatar lore, burned to cinders by that PHILISTINE!!!! and then as a refugee in the earth kingdom, he languishes, diaryless, because he’s too embarrassed to actually spend what little money they have on something so extraneous. and then once back in the fire nation he obviously can’t keep a diary because azula will do everything in her power to read it (he learned that the hard way as a child). but then, finally, once he flees to the western air temple, he can actually keep a diary again, now that he is surrounded by nice, normal people who don’t actually care enough about him to snoop through his belongings.

or so he thinks.

now, aang, being a respectful young lad, would never share his findings with the rest of the group, especially since none of them have actually warmed up to him yet. but that doesn’t prevent him from reading everything zuko has ever written in that diary. and of course, he doesn’t tell zuko, because he has the tact and savvy to know that if he alerts zuko to his snooping, then he will simply hide his diary better, or even worse, stop writing in it altogether. and zuko can’t stop writing!! for he has a poet’s soul!!!

also, zuko has somehow gathered a lot of information on sokka that aang himself did not know, despite being friends with him for nearly a year now (like the fact that he dated the moon??? or the fact that his mother was killed by the fire nation??? although that one he really should’ve figured out on his own. considering that he and katara are siblings, and thus logically would share a mother). and so aang really needs zuko to keep updating his SOKKA LORE notebook because he feels kind of guilty that he knew basically nothing about his friend and yet zuko, the least observant person he has ever met, is somehow an expert in sokkology (although aang is deeply offended on katara’s behalf that he simply refers to her as “sokka’s sister” or sometimes “the angry one”).

for the record, aang never actually puts together WHY zuko is so fascinated by sokka. he’s just like “of course he’d be intrigued by sokka. he has a very complex mind, what an adventure to attempt to fathom the depths of his psyche.” like he just assumes that zuko is using sokka as a case study for completely innocuous reasons. he also assumes that zuko, like any teenage boy with eyes, is infatuated with katara. not at first, obviously, because to zuko she is still “girl sister, long hair” but eventually. once they reconcile, and become friends. and then his diary makes a sharp turn from carefully documenting any and all sokka lore to “katara said this really funny thing today” “katara is so nice and pretty” “katara is such a good waterbender” and suddenly aang is NOT having fun anymore!!!! halt the presses!!!!!

so aang just kind of sulks to himself for a while because it’s not like he can TELL anyone about his NEW ROMANTIC RIVAL in the BID FOR KATARA’S AFFECTIONS, but he does try to vaguely intimate to sokka and toph that it bothers him. and toph’s just like “what?? you mean all those times she hooked up with haru at the western air temple???” and aang’s just like. “HARU??????!!?!!??!?!?”

anyway. zuko isn’t a complete idiot, so after a few good years of being friends with aang, he finally catches onto the fact that aang has been keeping up with his diary every time he visits the palace, after like, the fourth or fifth time that aang accidentally lets a piece of information slip that he only could’ve known via reading zuko’s diary. so zuko decides to mess with him, and starts keeping a fake diary in the place he used to keep his real diary (columbus style) and writing shit in it like, “aang’s recent experimentations with facial hair are so embarrassing. just because you’re finally old enough to grow a weak little mustache doesn’t mean that you, under any circumstances, SHOULD. i bet katara is throwing up puking every day just having to kiss his horrendous furry mouth.” or, “katara said that she thinks roku was not only hotter, but also a way better avatar than aang, and personally, i agree. if he was still the avatar today no one would ever go hungry and we would have total world peace.” or, “aang is way too comfortable going shirtless. if i had that scrawny lanky body i would cover that shit up with a big ol sweater every day.” or, “aang said something really mean the other day and it hurt my feelings and i cried alone in my room for 3 hours. aang is literally a bully????”

and aang can’t even SAY anything because zuko is allowed to say whatever he wants about his friends in the privacy of his own journal, but also he decides that if zuko truly hates him so much, then he will simply stop visiting the fire nation so frequently, out of respect to his friend. at which point zuko realizes that he may have gone too far, so the next time aang visits him, he puts his real diary in his drawer with an entry that reads, “i can’t believe aang keeps falling for my fake diary prank. he doesn’t even know that im messing with him. and he never will, because my system is flawless, and i’ll never ever lose track of which diary is the real one and which one is the fake.”

at which point aang runs headfirst into a meeting between fire lord zuko and his senior council and is just like “ZUKO!!!!!!!!!!! YOU IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!” and tackles him in a hug with no regard for propriety. he nearly gives zuko a concussion from the force of his hug. but dammit if it isn’t worth it.

AHHH! OK so I've never done anything like this but I put as many as I could think of. If I come up with anything else, I'll edit this and add it (or just make a new post) 

(lots of words ahead 💀)

General headcanons :

- They one hundred percent had the Barbie mugshot but with Velvet's deadly stare instead

- and Veneer made sure he looked good; they are taking a picture after all

- I think Velvet might be a little taller than Veneer but they're both taller than average

- never leaves the house without heels or platforms or both

- Veneer has must-be-wearing-a-crop-top syndrome. Can't be cured 😔 

- I'm sorry but they totally sang Circus by Britney Spears. That song is so V&V coded and has female and male vocals too 😩

- The sass is too hard to contain for this duo. Once a sly thought appears in their mind, they have to voice it (but I'm not complaining. They're iconic) 

- Veneer can be a little blunt or rude sometimes. I know ppl like to imagine him as just the caring and silly sibling but he did everything Velvet did. He just had morals that started to kick in once the threat of being a killer was thrown at him. 

(I mean did you see him nearly just toss Floyd down the toilet 💀)

- of course, I still think he is silly and kind and chooses to do so for a fair portion of the time but he's no stranger to being ignorant to most of his wrongdoings as well

- and I think they both have some trauma from practically killing Floyd. GET THEM THERAPYYY

- I think Velvet would like decorating and making things ✨Aesthetic✨

- like a little journal that she'd write her feelings in and then fill with beautiful stickers and photos (totally not a burn book....) 

- I think Poppy would love love looove to see Velvet's journal filled with beautiful stationary. She'd probably get her into scrapbooking and they'd make the cutest little displays or books just brimming with photos, cutouts, diagrams, and more. 

-Poppy and Viva can be a little overwhelming for Velvet at first but they'd totally become great gal pals and just chat all day. 

- and at first, Bergen features might be a little....alarming to Velvet but she'd learn to love Bridget just like Poppy does

-also both are invited to the broppy wedding... 👀

- she also of course become friends with the BroZone brothers but I get more into that below ⬇️

"Story" headcanons :

- So for Velvet, I think in the movie she was so blinded by her need for fame and luxury that she didn't notice how her family (Veneer) helped her and stuck around through all the things she said and did. This would separate her from being just a complete villain because I do believe that she can reform herself into something better

- In Jail, I think Velvet would really hate it and everyone around her. She probably wouldn't want to talk to Veneer at all at first but being alone might give her time to reflect on herself

- over a little time, I think she'd realize how Veneer was always there for her and understood her ways. She'd definitely come back around and they'd be back to being as close as they were before, maybe even more

-It would take some time for both Velvet and Veneer to adjust. 

- Veneer would dislike jail very much. He's so used to his life of luxury that I'm sure he'd be surprised by how little you get behind bars

- and with Velvet wanting to be alone, he would probably feel more alone than ever

- but he knows he did the right thing and even though prison sucks, he'd get through it

- Veneer would probably try to make friends with some of the people there but it is prison soo.... I'm not sure how well that would go. 

- if anyone came to visit him, he'd be so happy cuz jail is sooo boring and he'd finally get to yap away to somebody who knows him.

- you just know they'd be styling that prison jumpsuit the best the can

- can you sneak heels into jail??

- Velvet and Veneer are kinda "eye candy" for the criminals in jail and they might get targeted by those who are jealous or looking for a fight

-Velvet's not the only one with an attitude problem, Veneer can very well relay a comment or two that can easily get them into some trouble. He'll have to work on that along with his sister, learn how to correctly treat the people around them

 - After they become besties again, they'd have each other's backs like never before. I think Velvet really really does care about Veneer and if anything ever happened to him, she'd be devastated. This time, she'd really like to treat him how he deserves and nurture that sibling bond. 

- and you know once anyone throws hands with one sibling, the other comes swinging

- 💥KNOCKOUT💥

- not the best thing to do if you want to get out of jail fast but hey, nobody messes with twins and gets away with it

- Due to other more serious situations being forgiven in the past, I think Velvet & Veneer wouldn't be in prison for too long. I can easily see BroZone forgiving them and offering to help the twins with whatever they'd need

- Veneer would definitely become great friends with Floyd and even Bruce. After all, he knows what it's like to be sensitive and a heartthrob 😌

- and I can see Velvet relating to Branch and J. D. She's probably a control freak (or was) and always wants everything to be perfect, just like John Dory. That's something they'd both have to work on. And I think Velvet and Branch can relate to one another's sassy sarcastic comments and occasional snide remarks. 

- I can also see them joining Clay's sad book club. I need to see a scene of Veneer just balling his eyes out after finishing a book while all the others just pat him on the back 😆

- @horrorartist23 did a couple of drawings of Velvet & Veneer(or maybe just Ven idk) working at Bruce's Beachside Bar and I LOVE THAT IDEA SO MUCH.

- ESPECIALLY since Bruce said his family was a total Veneer household. I think it would be so cute for not only his kids getting the chance to meet Vel&Ven but also for Vel&Ven to get a little bit of real work experience.

- it would be so good for them to work at a place like that to learn about themselves and a work environment.

- plus the whole island is gorgeous and pretty luxury, which would fit into they're ideal environment. AND everything is Rageon sized so they don't have to worry about being too big!!

- They'd literally be working hard and making it look easy 💀

- I think it's perfect and I love it

-after jail and therapy, I think Velvet would really love the life she has. She'd of course still make mistakes sometimes and her sass will never leave. That's just who she is and none of us would want to change that . But she'd have a way healthier mind and so would the people around her. 

- I think both of them might want to actually learn how to sing and dance like real performers 

- Velvet hates making mistakes or not being perfect at a skill immediately. I know how that is and it's really difficult to get past but with more encouragement from Veneer and even the Brozone brothers, she'd become the star she always knew she was. 

- And Veneer would take initiative for himself and practice performing like a real idol. I feel Veneer would also struggle with wanting perfection immediately but I think he'd really fall in love with dancing and this would help him keep up the determination. And he'd be really good at it too after some practice

- Knowing how good they can be if they put in the work would be a huge motivator too. Cuz they only stole Floyd's talent, not his voice. And because of this Velvet knows that she sounds good when she's at her peak in skill. They know that they can be amazing, they just have to work for it this time 

-Trying to become famous again for the right things would definitely be hard. They're reputation is awful

- BUT, I think Mount Rageous would give them a chance to prove themselves. Considering how all Rageons are obsessed with media, fame, and celebrities, I think they couldn't resist the bait of former popstars Velvet & Veneer coming back to the stage, this time with their own talent that they've truly worked hard to perfect. 

- And they'd deserve it for how much work they put into reforming their lives. 

- Plus, nobody can take away their love for the stage and performing. They're too iconic to forget 💅

- and you know I'd be keepin' my eye out for that V&V/BroZone collab 🌟

- First live performance with BroZone, Velvet and Veneer are getting their Perfect Family Harmony. And you can bet it will be the most amazing thing to ever grace the planet

im curious now and i like to hear ppl talk abt characters so! what is it about damian that makes him compelling to you? what do you like abt him/his character? (genuinely <3)

well. robin son of batman was really the comic that like cemented damian in my heart like its so crazy the art the writing (most of the time) the characterization is so. gutwrenching like he KILLS me in that comic. idk just his struggle with having to reconcile his desire to be what he was trained to be vs his idolization of his dad. damian in his early stuff is just constantly going What do you mean its bad to be ruthless and merciless and violent im trying to be you. and bruce goes. Who??? told you that?????? very funny. to me. horrible attitude horrible behavior he’s so stubborn but i love it. and there are so many reasons that he is the way he is especially when you realize that like. damian has literally never ever had fun or let himself have fun he doesn’t know how to PLAY with other kids and the batgirl panel where steph realizes this and gets a bouncy castle and forces him to. have fun. makes me crazy he’s a little kid what the hell. and son of batman even has some call backs to previous comics like theres this part in batman and robin (i think) where damian crushes a bat in his hands bc he got frustrated to show that its just like. natural for him to act that way bc thats what he was taught to do. violence is natural. and then when damian realizes he doesn’t actually. like violence that he doesnt want to hurt people fuuck dude he’s just a little boy trying to do what he thinks he’s supposed to do and then reckoning w the fact that he’s WRONG. and theres this panel in son of batman where damian is laying on his back in the batcave and staring at the skeleton of this bat he killed without even thinking of it. and he has like tears in his eyes. the potential of his character development is sooo compelling i just wish they gave him that chance. not to mention maya in son of robin as a perfect narrative foil for damian all the responsibility to family and the pressure of a legacy and what it means, whether they placed it on their own shoulders or not. soo good. and they’re silly. also damian’s pet goliath SIIICK SICKENINGG. one punch man image. — i’ll be as honest as i can because it is HARD to describe the vision i have in my head (it’s changed many times but roughly stays the same somehow) SO I WILL TRY TO MAKE YOU SEE WHAT I SEE !!

— jeff is gross so gross. not even in the, ew you stink sense (he does, he constantly smells like blood and dirt it’s fucking nasty.) he’s sick in the head and is proud of it. would tell you how he gutted the last guy you so much as glanced in the direction of and how he writhed in pain and choked on his own spit and blood while jeff shoved his boot into the fucker’s gut for added agony. he says all this with a sick smile on his face but be sure to not make any type of look of disgust, anger or expression amongst those. he will blow up immediately and start threatening you if you so much as even hint at not agreeing with his choice of action

— he isn’t afraid of hurting you, he actually enjoys it. he’ll purposely set you up for failure so he can cut you up or bruise you just enough to leave a reminder to behave and listen next time. after all, had you just obeyed like a good little doll then he wouldn’t have had to dig his knife into the bare skin of your stomach just enough to leave a mark that would stay for a short while.

— to add onto that ^ if he’s kidnapped you then he’s even more physical with his punishments. he’ll beat you to make you understand to take his words seriously if you aren’t already. he’s slammed your head into a wall before because you didn’t answer him when he asked you a question and you’d never do that again. you’d do whatever it means to make sure he doesn’t go from leaving marks and bruises to leaving broken bones and open wounds, and he knows that you’re scared of that future and he fucking loves it.

— moving on from that situation for now. he’s surprisingly good with his words (this could either be good or bad) he knows what to say to keep you wrapped tight around his finger and he knows what to say to scare you into listening. “that, uh, new girl you’re talking to. she’s nice isn’t she?” and while he grins, you glance at him with uneasiness at his tone when he spoke.

— i think it’s evident enough he stalks the fuck out of you. whether you’re aware or not he’s always there. ever felt paranoid that someone was watching you? it’s him. but don’f expect to actually catch a glimpse of him, he’d only let you see him if he wanted you to. he’s got way too many photos of you for it to be considered normal (given your relationship with him, nothing is normal). and he’s jerked off to every single one of them. doesn’t matter if it’s suggestive, sexual or a completely innocent photo, he’s gotten off to every single one of them at least once and if he wanted to humiliate you, he’d tell you himself while you cry pretty tears and yell those silly and meaningless words you like to use at him.

Reading that previous anons ask, I’m SOO GLAD that people are finding your fics!!! I mean when i first saw the amount of notes you had on your gamemakers apprentice I was SHOCKED, I don’t mean to insult u when I say this but you are SEVERELY underrated. Like HOW is the amount of notes you have sooo low (this is the part which I don’t mean to upset you by) it must be an issue with tumblr because every time I see you post a new chapter I reblog and add like a million tags. It can’t be because of your story, I refuse to believe that cause… the chapters are long, Coriolanus is well written and accurate, reader has an enjoyable personality and that makes you like her, the story is interesting and has good pacing, im pretty sure that you said English isn’t your first language yet the grammar and punctuation is perfect. Like it’s not because of the quality of your story I genuinely believe that tumblr isn’t showing your fic on ppls fyp’s cause I’ve seen other writers get 3x more notes compared to you yet yours is better, like genuinely one of the top dark!coryo writers on here. Good morning everyone, today I’m once again thinking about Mike Wheeler’s character

I think we’re kinda forgetting just how much Mike HATES lying. He hates it. Friends don’t lie? Yeah that’s *important*

There’s only one season where we saw Mike lying directly to someone’s face multiple times: s3. And who was he lying to? EL. And this got me thinking:

Even in s4, until his vol 2 monologue, he only ever lied to El through omission when he didnt even write a standard “Love, Mike” in his letters. S3 was when Mike was being the least authentic version of himself possible, and that’s the only time we’ve seen him say direct lies to anyone’s face. But who, even in s3, has Mike never directly lied to? WILL.

Sure, he’s hiding some things from Will (like his gay asf feelings lmao), but other than that Mike has literally never once told a direct lie to Will onscreen. Pair that with the fact that right from the get go in s1 Will couldn’t even bring himself to lie to Mike about what he rolled in D&D, AND that when Will was calling El out in the rollar rink while Mike was getting socks, his biggest concern was that he didn’t think Mike was gonna like that she was lying to him.

Soo what am I getting at here? Well, we can tell that Mike and Will have a mutual understanding (heh, Finn we see u) to above else, *never* lie to each other. When they fight, Will always calls Mike out on his bs, which is another form of absolute honesty. Mike takes his “friends don’t lie” *extra* seriously with Will (once again, his friendship with Will being different than with anyone else). So the fact that Will was the one who pushed Mike to lie to El is *very* significant.

When Will lied to Mike, he broke an unspoken understanding between them that caused a domino effect of miscommunication. This is happening *while* Mike is trying to be closer to Will again, and he thinks everything is okay between them right now. Mike finding out The reason he directly lied to El about how he felt abt her (something he had been avoiding during the season) was bc of a lie that WILL of all ppl told?

That is going to break Mike. He’s not going to know what to do with himself. Will is gonna have to be completely honest with Mike about what happened in order to save their friendship… except Will thinks his truth is what would *ruin* their friendship. If duffers have any decent writing skill (and they do) then there’s no way this isn’t going to massively blow up:

“Friends don’t lie, Will! Especially *best* friends! Why? WHY did you lie to me like that??”

“Well then I guess we just aren’t best friends anymore, Mike!”

Yeah… it’s not gonna be pretty.

Yk, I really loved your analysis and I'm so glad you agree with everything ive ever thought about., especially the voice related stuff.

Anyway, alot of people don't talk about this but i have thought about this for a while, yk given that will is insecure and thinks so low of himself and never acknowledges his achievements ot how powerful he is I feel like him having impostor syndrome is plausible.

Also ik he has insecurities but I dont necessarily think they are about healing its obvious, like one this that sticks out to me and I would talk for hours is when will was soo so reluctant to glow and did not like that apollo was proud of it and was prumpy throughout the trogs thing. Also with the ability vs skill thing since its all abilities he inherited from his father, I dont think he is ever proud of himself for all the stuff he does, like he could go, "I didnt work hard and get the skills it was just granted to me, I didn't do anything to be worth it". And that one line in TON where he would rather have apollo be proud of him for getting top of the class??instead of glowing?? Thats what made me think if it.

So even no matter how powerful he is and how skilled he is and my many ppl he saved! he still thinks he's not good enough and not worth it and not skilled enough (I'm just a healer is what he says) this is very obvious with his insecurities and it could also be a possible lead to impostor syndrome(its very common in people in the medical field)

Also IT IS CANON that ultrasonic whistle in not the only musical talent he has, it was stated that it is one of his few musical talents

Oh hey, wasn't expecting to wake up to an essay in my own inbox for a change, nice :D

Will certainly has insecurities by the bucket load, which is very sad but very true. It's primarily shown to us in this passage:

‘I agree,’ Will said. ‘I wish I was a better archer … I wouldn’t mind shooting my Roman relative off his high horse. Actually, I wish I could use any of my father’s gifts to stop this war.’ He looked down at his own hands with distaste. ‘Unfortunately, I’m just a healer.’

It's interesting that despite what he says, though, Will does exactly that - he is the one to stop the Greco-Roman war, using his ultrasonic whistle, which neatly proves his insecurities wrong here and shows him as far more powerful and versatile than he gives himself credit for.

His thoughts about being "just" a healer are understandable, though - his job is primarily after the battle is fought, picking up the pieces of the demigods that (to his mind) could fight and sticking them back together, but being reasonably useless until someone's already hurt. You could argue this was increased back in TLO, because Will would have seen Michael fall. It's never stated (but then again, even Percy doesn't see him fall), but considering all the Apollo kids barring Michael are off the bridge and Kronos himself is bearing down on them... all the surviving Apollo kids would've been watching. They couldn't afford not to be. So Will's seen first hand how quickly a life can be taken, and that no matter how fast or good he is, he still fails to save the most important people to him (we don't know where he was in relation to Lee when Lee died; it's unlikely he was in the fight itself, but regardless, those giant clubs are nasty and Lee's death would've been instantaneous).

Does this translate into imposter syndrome? I am a little hesitant to put that label onto him because something about it doesn't quite seem to fit for me, but there's certainly some indications of a similar mindset, even if it's not the syndrome itself. One of these is how Will talks about the powers compared to how his siblings do.

"My father's gifts", he calls it in that moment of self-depreciation. Not my abilities, or even my talents; he calls them gifts, as though they're not really his, or even as though he thinks he's been passed over entirely for some of them while Apollo chose to lavish them elsewhere.

In contrast, we have the way Austin and Kayla talk about them in THO:

“But you’re mortal?” Kayla asked. “As in completely mortal? Does that mean I’m going to lose my archery skills? I can’t even qualify for the Olympics until I’m sixteen!” “And if I lose my music…” Austin shook his head. “No, man, that’s wrong. My last video got, like, five hundred thousand views in a week. What am I supposed to do?”

My. They have no doubts at all that the abilities they have are theirs. They're aware that they inherited them from Apollo, and they're worried that somehow they might disappear if Apollo dies (in Kayla's case she's literally worried that she, born literally of Apollo, might disappear), but they have no hesitation about claiming their abilities as their own.

(Interestingly, the one time Will calls an ability 'his', it's when he's being derogatory about it. "[...] a truly awful whistle", he says - the one thing he claims as his is the one potentially destructive ability he's showcased that people complain at him for.)

Will's reaction to Apollo's praise about the glowing reads to me like a little bit of shame (because he's comparing it to all the other neat demigod powers he's seen and "oh gods, all I do is glow, really?") but also just straight up insecurity - which Apollo sees and does not rise to the bait of.

‘I’m so proud,’ I said. Will’s face turned the colour of sunlight shining through a glass of cranberry juice. ‘Dad, I’m just glowing . I’m not graduating at the top of my class.’ ‘I’ll be proud when you do that, too,’ I assured him.

Remember that Will, as a demigod, is ADHD and dyslexic - while that doesn't automatically mean he can't be top of the class, it does make it a lot harder to do, so in this instance he's giving Apollo an out of "here's an example that you actually ought to be proud of... even though it'll never happen," because he doesn't actually believe that Apollo's as proud as he is. And yet, Apollo's response is instant, unwavering faith - "when you do that, too". (Obviously, Apollo is currently lacking his foresight abilities, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's forgotten what he has seen, and the confidence with which he says this might just be him reassuring Will, but also empty reassurance is pretty dangerous to do for someone whose self-esteem is so low, so there's a decent chance that Apollo remembers seeing that Will will do that.) He completely turns Will's self-depreciation around on its head like "you're amazing for this, you'll be amazing in the future, you're amazing whichever way we slice this so take the compliment."

And yes, Will is grumpy/unimpressed about the whole trogs thing - it's not just the fact that he's being viewed as a convenient light source by the trogs, he's been vocally opposed to the entire encounter from start to end.

But something I find interesting is that, for someone who's embarrassed about it and reluctant to do it in the first place (and honestly, I get the feeling that Will discovered this power by accident, probably when being dragged around dark places by his boyfriend, and was so embarrassed he never even showed it to anyone else), when we see him again in the tower - he's glowing.

He doesn't need to be glowing in the tower. There's plenty of light around, no-one's been struggling to see. His glow is also being described as bright, this time, rather than the subtle descriptions Apollo applied earlier. This is Will Solace, child of the sun god, using the light to show exactly who he is, and that's such a marked change from his attitude earlier where he was reluctant to turn on the glow even when it was pitch dark and the others (even Nico) needed it to see. This is Will being proud of what he's got. He's showing it off here, really - and the only reason I can think of is that Apollo gave it a solid mark of approval. He got affirmation about this particular ability from Apollo, Apollo explicitly told him he was proud of him for being able to do it, and that seems to have boosted his confidence in it.

This bit I'm gonna disagree with, though. The fandom, from what I've seen, packages Will into this little box (I've seen posts going around about him being exactly this), but in canon there's no evidence at all that he's not taken seriously by his fellow campers (or, actually, that Will is happy go lucky - he has strong morals and does not back down in the face of disagreements or conflict. Look at his interaction with Travis about stealing in TLO, his scolding of Annabeth about breaking the chariot in TLH, his scolding of Nico in BOO, and Apollo in THO; a consistent character trait right from his first appearance is that he's not afraid to stand his ground/disagree with more powerful/older/generally feared characters). In fact, he's probably well-respected in camp.

‘She’s right.’ Will Solace, head counsellor for the Apollo cabin, put his hand gently on Clarisse’s wrist. Not many campers could’ve done that without getting stabbed, but Will had a way of defusing people’s anger. He got her to lower her dagger.

Will has Clarisse's respect. It's shown here, where she doesn't lash out at him (unlike her interactions with Michael in TLO), it's also heavily implied in the fact that Will delivered Chuck - Clarisse is incredibly protective of Mellie and it's Will that she let near her in her vulnerable state. Not because Will isn't a threat, but because Clarisse trusted Will enough.

He has Nico's respect before their BOO encounter, "the camp's best combat medic", he has the respect of all the head counsellors in that meeting (not one of them interrupt him or disagree with him).

He has Annabeth's respect - she backs down and apologises to him even though she's still very wound up about Percy being gone and the Jason hint being a bust.

Hell, he has Dionysus' respect. There are very few demigods whose names Dionysus gets right - Will's is one of them, on more than one occasion.

I'm honestly not actually sure where this "sunshine goody two shoes happy-go-lucky softbean" fandom take comes from, unless it's literally taking one or two lines and twisting them a long way out of context, because that's not the Will we see in canon at all.

I'm pretty new to this fandom, and honestly I stay away from most of it because a lot of the Will takes I've seen around I don't agree with but I also refuse to get involved in anything that might start spiralling into drama (made that mistake in other fandoms, not making it again) so I only lurk on the edge of this one, and that's where I'll stay, but I did latch onto Will and find him fascinating to poke at and see what makes him tick, so I'm always happy to talk about him :D

I am glad you enjoy my writing, though! My plan is to be here to stay at least for a while, and there's a sore lack of Apollo&Will content, or even just non-Solangelo Will-centric content around on AO3 so that's mostly where I'm foreseeing hanging out (although I am also dabbling in Solangelo because while there is a lot of content for that, I find the way it's often portrayed to again not actually go with the canon we have, and as the old adage goes, "if you can't find something you like, write it yourself." So that's exactly what I'm doing!)

hmm.. do you have any favourite Pokémon/Poképasta characters? If so, what do you like about them? Or.. if you could make your own Poképasta character, what would their concept or design be? i... to no ones surprise, reaaally like steven. glitchys up there, but i think his og pokepasta sort of sucks ( which is not an unpopular opinion ), but strangled red ( specifically strangled red, strangled and doors open are... neat, but sort of badly written and way more stereotypical ) is just... mwah. chefs kiss. stories about grief and abt a depressive spiral that gets worse and worse AND you get to see how he was like before it? soo good. you can argue the missingno plotline in it was unnecessary which i could agree but i think its just cool more than anything else, esp since most pokepastas based on gen 1 use it or other glitches in the 1st gens for horror a lot, which i think is interesting. missingno can be many things!

i like to think logically that glitches and stuff in game prob exist in the pokemon universe as well, since... well.. pokemon can be turned into data. you put them into the pc. missingno likely just exists and is a heavily corrupted pokemon that is not supposed to be there, or a glitch that the pc or something made real.

therefore, miki probably was "healed" because missingno "filled" her "missing data" or something like that, but i like to keep it more vague and ambiguous too. you can do a lot with strangled red and steven, miki, and mike too which just intrigues me. once again read lessons in guilt and grief and faulty on ao3. they explore this and steven, mike, ( and daisy who doesnt get enough attention ) in a way i 100% agree with and enjoy .

as for other characters i obviously enjoy glitchy but i much more enjoy the like... post-fnflull version of him cuz' in his original popularity he was just sort of prettyboy red who was also a creepypasta but ppl barely drew him like he was one ( i like fnf lulls interp bc of how his body constantly stutters and how when hes irate his mouth just stretches and shit like that. gmod ragdoll with broken physics ass mf ). also as said before his pokepastas sort of forgettable but i do like the concept of a red stuck in a game self aware bc im allll for that shit. i am an IHNMBIMS fan, i love AM, i love self aware AIs that feel trapped and take it out on every1 else or cope with it in Some Way... very interesting concept, idk.

honorable mentions for pokepastas that ppl prob know that i do not talk abt a lot that i like the writing or concepts for are DISABLED and Hell Bell.

hell bell you could argue has a stereotypical 'pasta ending of "ooooh you die in the game you die for real" but idk i eat up the way they did it in hell bell bc the person doesnt die but they sort of do since nobody can see em anymore ( iirc, i hvent read it in a bit ). also uses gen 4 which as someone who started mainline games with diamond and pearl respectively, i enjoy that a lot.

for DISABLED, its not super deep or scary or anything ( ok well its scary for the narrator obviously ) but its another one that just sorta makes me feel bad in all the right ways.

i have concepts for pokepasta aus of my ocs and some side characters but they arent pokepastas theyre just like... ppl who live in the world ( of fnf lull usually since i like to think everything there is connected and coexists somehow ), but i am not original to save my life so i dont think id make an actual pokepasta anytime soon, lol. the closest i got was making a super horrible choose your own adventure where you played as a cubone on deviantart when i was like idk 9

as for internet and fandom stuff, i dont associate myself w fandoms or fandom terminology and unironically i just start to call myself an "enjoyer" of things, bc i dont like being associated w anything... fandom oriented a lot of the time anymore. a lot of fanonization of characters also sucks. i do think the pokepasta fandom has some funny fanonizations though. like yes dilfify that man ( @ steven )

I find it so interesting how closely Aziraphale holds onto his identity as an Angel as opposed to Crowley who plays the role of demon but knows very well that it’s just a role and that heaven and hell are just labels. I do think it goes back to their loneliness and sense of belonging, maybe. Because Aziraphale wants (wanted?), far more than Crowley at least, to belong in this whole system even tho he knows he doesn’t. Crowley knows he doesn’t belong in the system but he does want to belong somewhere and that somewhere is, well, with Aziraphale. And it’s so sad because you know they both are outcasts and hurting and only have each other and they both want more but in different directions. UGH! I love them so much. They’ll figure it out, they’ll be okay (<- affirmations)

crowley really does fully think it's a job! there's soo much book stuff for that ("Anyway, why're we talking about this good and evil? They're just names for sides. In the great cosmic game they felt they occupied the same position as tax inspectors-doing an unpopular job, maybe, but essential to the overall operation of the whole thing. + "We were only doing our jobs," muttered Crowley. being part of the climax) that I loveee (this is not the point of your ask at all i just love anthony j crowley w all my heart and soul). and that's prob bc they already decided heaven was bullshit before the beginning and has seen and gotten the chance to evaluate both sides firsthand. but it still has to be devastatingly lonely and it isss bc p much everyone in hell is a traumatized betrayed person taking it out on the ppl below them in the command line and deciding that Being Nice is an executable offense so it's tough to find companionship there. and as for humans, do u ever think about how it must have been SO hard for her before she got sunglasses. like obv ppl would react differently to his eyes depending on culture/religion/etc but i'm sure it was often hard to talk to people! and i think enjoying wine and technology and constructing fun things for her job was satisfying enough to get by and having someone who Gets Him (But To A Hard Limit) in aziraphale helped add joy to it all but in s2 they're stagnating and depressed and she LITERALLY wants to belong somewhere and that somewhere is aziraphale......

for aziraphale i think that post-fall heaven had to be like "did you have fun killing your former friends with swords? well you were all chosen to stay angels for a reason but every day you should be terrified that if you step one toe out of line you're unworthy of god's love. lol." (also michael's whole "you've been a bit of a fallen angel" being a valid way for angels to refer to bad behavior) and it makes so much sense for someone to come out of that propaganda feeling the way aziraphale does! grey and i just recorded 2.02 and the ways in which heaven makes aziraphale feel silly and inadequate there but he's still crying his eyes out on that rock at the thought of falling make me soo. and 2.01 aziraphale saying it's nice to tell someone all the good things you've done now that he's not reporting to heaven is soo. showziraphale rlly needs outside reassurance and to belong somewhere and for millennia that somewhere has been heaven despite them all hating his ass. GOD IT'S SO MISERABLE

i think often about how by episode two of the show grey already said "I find it fascinating that both of them are situated as 'They’re different from the other people of their community,' like, Aziraphale is different from the other angels. Crowley is different from the other demons. And what they are most like is each other." well. i also love them and believe that they'll figure it out and be okay! (whether neilman is able to write that in a satisfactory fashion is something i... don't have the highest hopes for, but they will figure it out and be okay regardless of what that guy writes)

Yeah! I see Hj and the others have many facets but he does seem younger brother in some occasions! I think the groups that do well tend to have good synastry across most of the members' charts. I felt the same way about BTS back in the day (though I believe some of the info we had back then ended up being incorrect haha). The fact that across the whole of Ateez, they managed to only get three Moon signs also absolutely bamboozles me. (Jongho coming in clutch to even make it that many).

I certainly wouldn't want to give KQ too much credit for what dynamics ended up appearing, I just also think that they capitalize off of it. I've rambled before about Mom and Dad SeongJoong on here before (warning; tipsy writing), so there's certainly astrological precedence for that; it's just not the ONLY thing about them. I think I wrote that before I had done Seonghwa's natal chart, which really led me back to giving his Mars more credit. As for Hongjoong, it's something about the way he kind of looks for approval, for lack of better words, at times that gives me younger vibes. The fact that Beomjoong is his biggest inspiration is also just:

I have some avoidant tendencies😅.. i mean i have a good long history/list of ending close connections just cuz their (whichever of my past friend we’re considering) and my personality grew apart. Or our lives grew apart. And with some, i even discussed it by saying smth along the lines of “we should stop trying to be close now, we’re clearly so diff/don’t really click well.. so let’s stop putting efforts in our friendship before it gets more awkward or whtv..(some had turned bitter/passive-aggressive, didn’t wanna say that). That way we’ll remember each other good in our memories. We can obv contact each other whnv we want to😊” i’ve always ended things on good terms with ppl (tbh confronting way was v rare, cuz mostly we’d just stop checking up. I did have guilt whnv it was from my side but I knew it had to be done cuz it was going nowhere).. i only have my childhood friends. I’m not saying all this proudly. I’m just admitting I’m myself responsible for being kinda alone, n my justifications are always somewhat like “had to be done”.. It’s just.. I’m at that phase where being active for keeping friendships is kind of.. not smth i can do rn. (They’re in their exploring phase which I can’t match) I’m not going to say “bEinG aLOnE mAKes mE sO hApPy” cuz I’m a talkative one so right ppl are obv>>> but yeah from some years, being alone has been comforting n addicting.. i don’t plan on staying reserved of this level in the future cuz this goes against my personal belief of ‘an ideal adult’… (i hope this answers that ‘how have u been faring’ part…) 

Tbh i was considering how staying on this page could make me more sick😅 cuz i have a tendency of fluctuating bw…. Of assuming you to be him occasionally (I’ve done this countless times before you too). And like if you’re really not him, then I should be stopping right away. Cuz obv.. you’re just an internet stranger in the end n getting close to you is only going to be bad in the long term. Resemblance is so much that an internet str. is bothering me much more than he should. But then… I’m having soo much fun here rn & you saying “will take your response as permission to continue in the future”.. like u r enjoying my msgs so much (even i enjoy here) n have an expectation from me to continue talking, i find it so precious & absolutely bitchy of me/heartbreaking to stop talking to you. I have delusional tendencies n I usually do have to go an extra mile to truly see what is actually the reality around me n what isn’t (my thoughts/dreams took a looong time to accept i was out of school) & then, stop myself from falling into things that can consume me n detach me from seeing what’s right in front. So I’m going to stop now. 

Moreover, I know someday I’ll have also to stop this habit of allowing him to haunt me everywhere n stop ruining my present cuz of it, clinging to a subconscious hope of finding him in the end, smth that’s never going to be happen. I hope this hits you too for your situation. There are some things which are out of our control, clinging onto them, being hopeful for them doesn’t take one anywhere. No matter how strong/worshipping type your hope is. They. Are. Just. Not. Happening. Ever. It’s better to focus on the things that we can control. The nature of reality is imperfect. The quicker we accept it, the better (I have sooo many examples) Chapters can be left incomplete. Or can have a gruesome ending. The kindest, most generous person can fall off from a balcony. A perfectly healthy olympic athlete can die in a road accident. Injustice happens everywhere. World doesn’t work acc. to ppl. Someone not getting a happy ending with their loved one, is the most common scenario happening around. 

Ik I unnecessarily extended this (& ik I promised u once to not repeat this ‘trying to fix you’ habit, this this the last time)😅 but i believe to make someone see your side of things, this way is better than writing 2 summarised lines. Or idk, maybe i was just telling myself all this🤔 idk exactly how you both have been/are progressing, so apply this only if it’s required..

Hi! Long time since I've wrote something.. and to differentiate from other anons I will now sign with a pineapple emoji.

Regarding the show on the emotional episode that the other anon talked about I think the reason Sun doesn't say anything and this just my personal idea is that because he has a lot of self doubt and thinks he is a burden to his siblings he doesn't say that (heck that episode hit me hard because I've lived through the same things, not like sun but the experience I resonated with it).

In the previous episode Sun was trying to tell them that he was cleaning the barrels (when they wanted to watch a movie) and Earth and Moon were soo entertained with a bouncy donut, and all they said to him where something a long the lines of "you need to take a break, you need to stop, it's not good to be cleaning them, we will get rid of them" so they never acknowledged that he was going through something. They are thinking that everything is a-ok, but maybe it looks like that because sun is not saying they are just seeing a person with OCD just cleaning away the barrels and not a person who is having psychotic episodes (seeing things, hearing and feeling that they are real). Sun needs help.

Moving on to newer episodes, I think that because of what sun is going through he didn't want Moon to leave for a week (a month for moon [don't ask why, but wibbly wobbly timey whimy stuff]) to build the satellite with good Eclipse.

With Eclipse he haven't seen much about him talking about Francine (i think that's how you write that name idk and idc) he has given up on her, because the mimic and funtime freddy have plans and they basically told Eclipse to step the eff back or they will tell everyone about who he really is. Yesterday's episode was talking about Eclipse going to Earth to pass a message to Sun and Moon about "how he is going to become a better person" and Earth is telling him over and over the same phrase "actions speak louder than words" and Eclipse was basically getting fed up because she is not willing to pass the message. In the end Eclipse gets mad and says something "You know your brothers have killed Sun has and Moon has, oh they haven't told you, I wonder why?" and other things happened one of them was having Earth becoming fed up on who Eclipse was treating her.

Another recent episode is that they have a crazy fan-girl named Hatsune Miku, like ok... but that whole episode I think it was a way to make fun of how fans are talking about the show and episodes how she sees everything, and she is crazy for moon how he is a comfort character and when she is left alone with sun she says "you ruined moon, you ruined my comfort character, you got rid of his magic" and sun replies with "oh you're one of those fans" and a little bit of back and forth how she is in the comment section, on discord to then say "I do listen and vocal the majority, well not the majority but the minority that were mad at first and now we are simmering waiting for moon to get his magic back,..." Also this "Miku" told sun he always cries a lot and if she wanted to watch that she would search people crying on youtube. And Sun is trying his best to be her friend. Sorry for the long post...

Im.. confused, but not because of your writting but the whole Eclipse meeting more ppl..? aah im confused... also.. is the whole re writting of the universe still a thing? did they fixed that already?? also ye ye saw the miku by someone else post..and ok, let me be an ass here, I think davis just dislike that people is not clapping at him like they used to do,, lie of course, there is ppl who hate watch, idk why but my dudes.. the show clearly makes no sense at this point, there is no more lore, no more to do, they reach an high and now what? there is nothing more, if anything, they will use the ruind dlc model as a new bad guy but.. that feels cheap now I feel like davis may be a bitter by this opinion , so they make this miky character to "make fun" of people like me, yes im a Moon fan, yes I do blame Sun for few things but also, I know this is no longer a "friends proyect" so now I put my eyes on Davis or who ever runs the show.. this feels like that part in the actors vid, where they made someone complain of the use of "clothes" or something and he was mad.. like, that was clearly a joke on those who get mad when a model is used with no permission.. and.. can you see how dumb shit that it? right now they only run in circles, Sun's character do have reasons to close up and not open up, been there.. well still Im , I dont open up often , but also.. the reason why we , or me personally , didnt open up is because I didnt felt that safe, I got used to be talked over or looked down so it was hard to open up now I feel safe, and I feel like a can open up because I got around ppl that listen.. of course, earth and Moon may care, but still, are strangers to Sun.. Moon is someone new, it will take time to Sun to feel safe.. and that is.. something.. I still dont like to see Sun is distress because is ilogical, he can actually be fixed, he is a robot - he may feel and act human but the thing is.. he is not.. sadly he is just wires and metal, so he could maybe get a check up,, yes is not an emotional fixing, but it can help him to see if he actually is damage , or just hurting.. idk, thats my take on this, I walked away for a reason, and im glad I did

Ur au is a rotisserie chicken in my mind it's Soo good. Ur writing is amazing mochi. The way u write the settings and characters and thier interactions with each other and the world around him is sooo COOL. Mumbo is such a sad little lonely hermit cat with 2 sons i love him. And grian is literally just some guy, hes kind and gentle and understanding and patient and loyal and a sassy little shit. He THREW a ROCK at SCOTT , for impulse. He is very dear to me u must understand. And Scar is such a silly goofy guy he cracks me up. I love how he can be a scary cold dangerous dude and then immediately switch to being this soft dorky dad. Like hes the grim reaper. he knows the flower language, he has murdered ppl, he has a little old shop and he has ,tubbo, his son whom he loves very much. I love it.

Regina spektor anon again (hi!!!) Getting through mash at an unbelievable pace cus ive been putting it on while i ink a 20-something page comic. Im at the end of s7. Margaret being part of hawkeye and bjs little crew is amazing. Her lightening up a bit and also getting more, like, consciously written as sad and hardened by her experiences is soo good. Also i think by s7 theyve finally (correctly) landed on the idea that she does not need to be paired off with hawk or charles or any main cast male in order to justify her presence. Thank god for that cus her Platonic Chemistry with ppl, esp hawkeye, is off the charts. Shes my favorite character i think (her and hawkeye anyhow)- shes just so compelling. Shes also getting a little more masculine sometimes. You see her in fatigues and shit like that which yknow👀. Sapphic hotlips agenda (i know what was up when that old childhood friend came to visit). Btw I love Charles. Hes awful and elitist and a chauvinist but hes definitely a far better foil than frank cus he's capable of holding his own against bj and hawk and he's not a warguy rlly. (I say this with great affection for larry linville and for frank as a character, cus he was great too!! Its just that i like charles more) and watching charles warm up very slowly is great. I tend to not be on charles's side but its very satisfying to watch hawkeye get put in his place sometimes and it also makes it a lot more satisfying to see ppl get one over on charles because its actually a challenge. Speaking of which, i loved in love and war and inga Very Much. What stellar episodes. I demand More slamming hawk into the ground about his misconceptions and fuckups (affectionate) especially regarding women. Also the show made me cry again- when hawkeye tells radar off and makes him cry, margaret's little dog monologue, and especially especially when mulcahy punches that wounded man during the xmas ep??? :,>( the shame he felt was so relatable and touching. again thanks for introducing me to this series, its such a joyful experience to get to know this piece of art and experience it. Ooh oh also, i wanted to weigh in on the Where To Start Debate. While im not a purist and i think any way a person comes to a piece of art is valid, imo the best way to do MASH is to start from the start. The sexism and racism was genuinely very disheartening, and the cornier, sitcom-ier writing does make it feel a little less essential than subsequent episodes and seasons but honestly if you're in for the longhaul it ultimately deepens the experience cus so much of subsequent MASH is invested in interrogating its past, generally thru giving margaret more of a voice and by complicating Hawkeye's role as the guy we the audience are meant to agree with and identify with. The satisfaction that comes with deepening Margarets characterization and taking her problems more seriously is partially predicated on, for example, the early shows casually dismissive attitude regarding instances wherein she was sexually assaulted or harrassed or demeaned. I hope they continue doing that. I know that that isnt an experience everyone wants, but it feels rlly cool to watch the show learn empathy and grow from its crueler, fratbro-ish perspective to something more holistically empathetic. Sorry thats soooo many words dont feel obligated to respond if its too much. I just have thoughts. Thanks.

margaret's character arc is definitely one of the best things in mash. everyone say thank you to loretta swit for fighting for her character

and yes wlw margaret is so real!!! some ppl hc her as a lesbian, i personally prefer to think of her as bisexual bc her relationships with men on the show are too important to her character to consider them comphet. 2 me. all headcanons are beautiful though love is love

i'm so happy you like charles! he's definitely a more fitting antagonist for the kind of show mash became by season 6. the way his character is explored does add a lot more depth to the show (and at some point i feel you'll find yourself rooting for charles too lol. maybe! maybe not) and dont worry there will be more slamming hawkeye into the ground. maybe too much even

and i think you're right about starting mash from the pilot! part of my enjoyment of mash is about seeing how it changes, evolves and confronts its own shortcomings. for some people that might not be the case though, so i generally think if someone's not vibing with season 1's pacing or jokes but still wants to check out the show, s2 is a solid place to start. it has a soft pilot AND it's one of the best seasons of television ever like literally win win
