"Hey, Steph? If things were different, would you wanna go to homecoming with me?"
"I'd like that, Pete. I'd really like that."
A digital painting of Stephanie Lauter from Nerdy Prudes Must Die! She's smarter than she thinks she is and it's a crime and a half that she doesn't know it. Hope to one day be as cool as she is.

A little gift for @cigarettesandinevitablebetrayal who did the equivalent of letting off a small explosion in the group chat with some first escape vs bad end parallels.
And the visuals it inspired were like! Really fucking good!!! So. Started scribbling.

So I've been playing Octopath Traveler 2 again. In Japanese. From the start. All over again. We know how this goes-
Temenos - god all you need to know is that if you thought he sounded gay as fuck in English he's even gayer in Japanese (Akira Ishida-isms?) BUT I have also heard a few of his more emotional lines in JP and uh - let's just say. He's a LOT better at screaming in JP. ENG Temenos is a hell of a lot more sarcastic tho he's a funny man
Ochette - so no shot to her English performances but god. I love her Japanese voice. She's the right amount of genki and quirky without sounding like a child and dkskkd ok I think she sounds cuter in JP come at me
Osvald - oh bless you Alejandro Saab I didn't know you were so good at grunting in a million different ways - tbh I can say the same for his JP voice actor but am I insane or does he sound softer in Japanese. Both of them are daddy tho vmfnfn
Throné - GOD I LOVE BOTH OF HER VOICES. Throné has the same Therion quirk in Japanese in that she'll switch between her serious voice and acting voice on a DIME and it's so pleasing to hear. I also appreciate how deep her voice sounds in both iterations UGH step on me lady
Castti - so earlier I said Teme was better at screaming in Japanese. I can say the same thing about Castti but for crying. It actually hurts my soul to hear her sound so lost. The only thing missing from her JP performance is that she can't say tHESE H A N D S
Hikari - I shall also say that Hikari is better at crying in Japanese! What the fuck I actually FELT that strangled scream he does when Tsuki dies in his arms and now I'm just thinking 'jesus boy I am sorry that you probably have constant nightmares about this night ala Olberic Eisenberg' - and uh Howard Wang is fine ig - I like his ENG voice a lot but JP Hikari. That emotion-
Partitio - Gotta say my hat's off to his English performance here fkdmdm his cowboy swag has charmed me completely. I can't really differentiate his JP voice from Alfyn's so - and I like the JP Alfyn 'I can crush your spine but won't anyway how are you doin fren' voice but it's also not that distinct vmfmf - Partitio's little stutters in English are also just. Chef's kiss
Agnea - I love her in both languages! Even if I do think her English performance is a lot better at the 'oh me accent's slipping' thing - I also appreciate that she doesn't sound like Tressa despite being the same age! Agnea actually sounds a lot older than her but retains the bright-eyed energy
BONUS ROUND
Crick - so I found out that Stephen Fu also voices Doma from Demon Slayer and I just. God I can't unhear Crick's protests of being called little lamb huh. I think I prefer it over his JP voice tho dkdkd but I appreciate the shonen protag energy in JP his screaming in battle has charmed me
Malaya - UGH. LADY. LADYYYYY. TOUGH LADY CAN BREAK MY NECK AND I WOULD THANK HER FOR IT - is what I would say for mostly JP Malaya like hot damn I was unprepared. I'm all for 'gently watches over Castti with a soft tired pining voice' Malaya in English though bless her soul

Omori was created for the sole purpose of protecting the dreamer, Sunny. Keep him from anything harmful, keep him from discovering the Truth, anything that can possibly hurt him. And Omori resolved to do so from start to finish, a mechanical clockwork of duty he had been enacting for 4 years. It’s so simple, and oh so easy for him.
Except, it wasn’t.
Not when he started gaining his own sentience, not when he started thinking for himself. Not when everything started to fall apart as he recalled all the past resets.
Arriving in Blackspace always mean one thing. The dreamer is close to discovering the Truth again. An area that is ever changing and never constant, with pitch black doors leading to cursed sights that Sunny buries deep in his mind, it’s something that Omori had gotten used to.
“Omori... You came back for me!”
It seems he had chosen a door leading to Basil’s one of many deaths. He’s used to it.
“Watermelons sure are delicious!“
He’s used to it.
“Summer vacation with friends was the best, wasn’t it?“
He’s used to it.
Walking to the far right, finding themselves in a room full of watermelons scattered about with Basil closely following behind in silence. He’d cut open every watermelon he sees for the key, the way out of the place. Until his cut was directed to Basil instead, turning it bits and pieces of a bloody watermelon staining the floor behind him. He didn’t look, and instead continued to cut the one in front of him, grabbing the key to hurriedly leave the place with pursed lips. Unbeknownst to him that he subconsciously bit his inner cheek, not too much so as to draw blood, but it is an action foreign to a boy with neither a will and emotion of his own. Supposedly.
Omori continued opening the other doors.
. . .
“Oh, thank goodness you’re here, Omori. I thought I was gonna be stuck here forever.“
Another impending death. Omori stared at Basil for a moment, trapped within a large cobweb. He easily gets him free with one slash.
“Phew... That feels so much better.“
He led the way just the same as he once did with the other one.
“You know... I think spiders are really misunderstood...” Basil started to talk again.
Omori merely listened in silence.
“There’s so many spiders here all of a sudden...“
They continued to walk again. Omori tightly clutched his knife. He’s feeling a certain emotion he has yet felt at all, he doesn’t know what to describe it as.
“Ack! They’re biting me!”
The feeling grew. What is it, what would the others describe it as. Omori glanced at Basil. There were too many spiders on him, it made Omori feel uneasy. Was it uneasiness? No, it couldn’t be. Basil was comforting the spiders, awaiting Omori to move again.
They’ll hurt him. They’ll kill him.
Another impending death...
Could I... prevent that?
Omori took a deep breath as he turned around.
“Wh-what is it, Omori? Why are you holding your knife like that?“
“Stay still...“
Omori carefully swatted the spiders away with the blunt side of the knife before slashing them with its blade.
“Oh! Th-thanks! But.. ack!“
He kept at it. Yet no matter how much he swat away and kill, more emerges from seemingly nowhere. And soon, there was far too many of them.
“There’s so many of them... I can’t get them off!“
Omori can only watch in horror as Basil was engulfed by them.
I couldn’t prevent it...
Perhaps, he never could. Omori continued on to find the key and open another door.

I get why some people are angry at Wille this season. But, you have to understand that he's still a teenager. And all of the adult figures in his life (his Mom, his Dad, and even Farima) have straight up told him that he needs to take on more responsibility and solve a bunch of issues that he has not been prepared for. At the same time he's trying to navigate all of this, he has NO support from his family and was basically left to the wolves. He was forced to take on the role of his mother, and become someone the Crown would accept, instead of being who he truly is. Which is something Simon pointed out in episode five, "It's like you've turned into someone else. I don't recognize you anymore."

Pedaeus, the unwanted one: the mistake of his father's mistress felt the hot shock in his neck of Meges' spear, unswallowable sore throat of metal in his mouth, right through his teeth. He died biting down on the spearhead.

It is day, or what passes for it in the acid rains and bleak dryness of Avernus, when the Dark Urge, Wyll of Badur's Gate and Karlach come to meet what might come, at least doing it together.
If they die, they thought before, at least it is with honor, and at least it is together. Perhaps it is something like a wedding, as only they might see it; dark and twisted and the best they could hope for. A wedding for who, that was anyone's guess.
At least, they thought, as the armies of Zariel came to meet them, this certain death would be met, with defiance and peace.
But they are not the only ones who meet it.
For there have been others fighting the eternal war of demon and devil, in penance for some unimaginable sin. And someone is watching them.
His eyes are, perhaps, blue. His hair thick and corded, in a style that has been forgotten. His face is grim, as he watches them go.
Going to meet death, knowing the certainty of it. He knows that himself, and something in him strikes a chord, and a sudden impulse seizes him.
And he goes, and power walks with him; a power older, some say, than Zariel herself. For this warrior is old; so old than he was there before the shape of the Planes as they were now had been settled. So old that he was nameless. If anyone in Avernus knew what his true name had ever been, then they were probably never going to tell anyone. Forgotten, in this modern age, but at his approach the world shook.
And the dragonborn turns to see this man come, the magic shifting around him like a cloak, twisting Avernus from Zariel's grip-
And the Dark Urge sees the human. If he was human.
Draped in a cloak abandoned by a far larger fighter no doubt slain not so long ago, he was a distinct figure, and for a moment, she thought the stranger was a zombie, or a flesh golem of some sort. His skin was gray, and horribly mottled, and then it takes a moment to see. That the gray are scars; he is horribly scared all over, perhaps from head to toe, every single inch of his body mutilated beyond comprehension. Some part of her, that still carries the scars of the one who made her, sings at such exquisite cruelty, a testament to unimaginable suffering.
His eyes are blue. His body is a horrendous mass of scars, and something in his eyes makes her feel as if she has found clan, down here.
He looks at them for a moment, and again the thought strikes her; somewhere, deep down, some part of him understands.
His cloak moves past as he revealed an arm, and there is a patch on his arm, unscarred.
He does not carry torment on his arm. Not anymore.
(He has fought the unended cruelty and evil of the Planes themselves.
He has battled upon Avernus and all the Lower Planes for time without imagining.
He has endured all this time. In older times, it was because he simply could not die. Now, it is because he has become too strong. Sometimes, the Planes throw you bad odds, and something else decides that for once, things ought to end up better, and perhaps it is fitting that he IS that better ending, at least in this moment.
It's nice, he thinks afterwards, to have people happy to see him for once. He's seen too much torment. It's nice to see people happy, even if they thought they were going to meet their doom.
They never do get his name. That's nice, too; going from having no name for himself to them making up a name for him on the spot.
Karlach says he looks like an Adahn. He bursts out laughing for a solid minute and it takes a while to explain why that's so funny.)

The Coffe Theory is not it, because for the Jane Austen References to make sense, Aziraphale and Crowley need to fal apart not because of some poiseness cup of coffee but because of who they are.
Jane Austen wrote - as Aziraphale said - about misunderstandings. Even more, Pride and Predjudice whole point is, that the only thing that's standing between you and happiness is yourself.
Mr. Bingley doesn't leave Jane because evil Mr. Darcy drugged his tea. He leaves because he's way too easily persuaded by others and believes Mr. Darcy, when he said that it would be for the best.
Mr. Darcy doesn't manipulate Mr. Bingley for his own gain, but because he genuinely thinks Jane doesn't care for his good friend and wants to protect him. Why does he think that? Because Jane doesn't show her feelings openly and plays her cards close to her Chest.
Lizzy hates Mr. Darcy, because she sees hin being unsocial and jumps to the conclusion that he must be an arrogant asshole. Then Mr. Wickham comes around and tells her sweet little lies and she believes him, again jumping to conclusions based on first impression.
And the reason Mr. Darcy is so hated, even though he's actually a sweet guy who's just bad at social interactions? Because he's too prideful to leave his circle of people and assumes that it's the job of everyone else to proof that they are worth his time.
All of them need to realize those flaws and fix them before they can live happily ever after.
Aziraphale made this decision all by himself because he still thinks in black and white. Because Heaven is good and Hell is bad. Angels are good and Demons are evil. He gets that Crowley isn't evil, but he draws the wrong conclusion: Crowley isn't evil therefore he belongs in Heaven (with him).
In Season 3 he's going to realize some things. And he's going to come back.
And Crowley? Well he really needs to stop to run away everytime he smells conflict.
