Summary: When Pietro realizes that you’ve been so busy writing you haven’t taken care of yourself, he convinces you to take a break with him.

“Where’s Y/N?” Pietro asked Peter at the dinner table. “I haven’t seen her all day.”

Peter stabbed his fork into his bowl of pasta. “I think she’s in the library, said something about working on a deadline.”

Pietro rolled his eyes. “A self-imposed one, I bet. Oh my darling princessa never knows when to stop. Her adoring fans will be there no matter how long it takes her to get another fic out. They know she has a life.”

“Are you gonna go get her?” Peter asked.

“I’ll wait until after dinner, she won’t want to eat with everyone if she’s in the middle of her hyperfixation.” Pietro said, twirling his fork around. “When was the last time you saw her?”

Peter finished chewing before answering. “Two days ago?”

“She hasn’t taken her pills!” Pietro exclaimed, rushing to your room to grab your pills before heading to the library in the compound. “Princessa? Are you in here?” 

You looked up, hearing Pietro call for you. “Piet? What are you doing here?”

“Checking on you. How long have you been down here?”

“A couple of hours, I think.” You said, shrugging before turning back to your laptop.

FRIDAY picked that moment to chime in, “Miss L/N has been down here for 2 days without eating, drinking, sleeping, or taking her meds, Mr. Maximoff.”

“Princessa? I leave for a one day mission and you don’t take care of yourself for two? What in the everloving hell is this? Why another self-imposed deadline when you know that your followers will just be happy to see that you’re active? You’ve made it clear to them that you have a real and very pressing lifestyle outside of the computer, and you aren’t writing any series’ so there’s not a rush to get out the next chapter either.”

You looked down, embarrassed to have forgotten the most basic human needs while Pietro was away. “‘M sorry.” You said quietly, subtly wiping at your eyes.

Pietro rushed to your side, holding your hands in his. “Hey, princessa, I’m sorry. I’m not mad at you, I just worry because I know you can forget sometimes. Why don’t you finish your idea and then we can go upstairs and get some food, drink, and sleep? I brought you your meds. Come take a break with me.” He told you, kissing the back of both your hands.

“I love you, Piet.” You said, nodding gently. “Yeah, um, this fic really just needs me to step away, I’ve been killing myself trying to write it for weeks when all I really want to write is the next thing on my list. But I really want this done first, so I think it’s done, but I should come back to the fic later, in a different mindset.”

“More fed and rested.” Pietro said, pulling you in for a hug and resting his chin on top of your head.

“Exactly. I’ll bring my laptop upstairs with me and edit the fic in the morning before I post it.” 

He kissed your forehead gently before asking you a serious question. “Did you not notice that you were hungry?”

“You know how I get.” You replied.

“Oh, I do. But you didn’t notice you were hungry for two days?”

You kissed each of his cheeks softly. “Well, now that you mention it, I’m starving. What did Wanda make for dinner?”

“Some pasta dish, I don’t know, I probably let mine get cold rushing down here.” He replied, handing you your meds.

“A quick dinner and then we can cuddle, okay? I know you don’t sleep as well without me and you must’ve noticed I never came to bed last night.”

Pietro laughed, kissing all over your face. “You know me too well, princessa.” He zoomed the two of you upstairs. “Eat and then bed, okay?”

“Make sure you soundproof the room this time.” Tony remarked dryly, glancing back and forth between the two of you.

“She hasn’t slept in two days, we won’t need soundproofing to sleep, Stark.” Pietro said, taking up a bowl of dinner for you.

You rested your head on your hands, with your elbows on the table innocently looking at Tony, “Well, maybe we’ll just have to show you how loud Piet can be another time then, Tone.”

“Oh, princessa, I think you’re getting the two of us mixed up.” Pietro said, placing your bowl in front of you and sitting next to you.

“We’ll have to test and see, baby.”

i know astarion's attitude towards sex is all due to his trauma but. listen. there are some aspects of his romance and experiences that can be so relatable as a sex-neutral or sex-averse ace person. in fact him being ace or acespec on top of the trauma makes him even more compelling and tragic to me. it would've been amazing and interesting if he'd been canonically ace and these aspects plus how his asexuality affected his traumatic sexual experiences had been explored as well

I really need to be cleaning my room but. fanfiction I'd write if I had time but I Do Not

There are several ghiralink fic storylines that are along the lines of "Link gets exactly what he thinks he wants and turns out it isn't really what he needs" (whether real or a dream-state) that have him taking Ghirahim's sword and gaining complete control over him and the themes are of personhood and power and complacency. be careful what you wish for type things. A few that are Ghirahim killing Link/Link losing and realizing he would rather have him alive and fighting instead of dead/given up because it was more fun than way, but usually end up being sad. oh well I guess for the former and teaming up with Link to defeat Demise for the latter.

What I want to write is the themes of scenario 1 but role reversed so it's like scenario 2 with Ghirahim having the "this isn't what I wanted" moment. Ghiralink adds, usually as a joke, a level of "if I can't kill you, maybe you could join me ;)" and I want to write more or less Link doing that, Link being a perfect subservient extension that does everything he wants him to and he doesn't regret it (he can't), but Ghirahim having the realization that he doesn't want someone who is nothing more than an object for him to use. A doll. A sword.

And then, how Link has guilt over Fi and the Master Sword and his role as hero and how Hylia controls him but he's no better than her, Ghirahim realizing Link is now what he is to Demise and rethinking his own position. Is this what Demise thinks of me. Is that why he treats me the way he does. And he takes his anger out on Link but Link can't fight back anymore. Link doesn't want to fight back anymore, and not in a depressed it's hopeless kind of way, but in the same way Ghirahim accepted Demise pulling the sword out of his chest.

When Ghirahim is empty and goes isn't this what you wanted, Link can genuinely say no because he has a hero's heart and conscience and never meant for anyone to get hurt. When Link goes I am what you made me, Ghirahim has to face that fact that yes, he is, and he is made in my image, and I do not want this anymore.

maybe i'm just biased because of my specific analytical read, but every time i hear something to the tune of "xyz thing knives did to vash wasn't actually quite as bad as you think it is" my hackles go up. Maybe I'm Just Biased. but i think if you cannot emotionally confront the way that knives' entire character is based around ignoring the consent or wishes of. everyone, but especially his siblings, in a myriad of extremely loaded ways, you should probably have a think about how your knives apologism starts to sound.

If I had to create a gem species like in Steven Universe and Houseki No Kuni (I know, I know. But as a MADD, a mineralogy nerd and a huge fan of both series, I want for once to pacify this little whimp of mine), I'd probably make them live in a cave/underground enviroment. Their cities would be build underground an their houses/room, inside cave corners.

A town of Minerals (the species' actual name) is called a Colony and it's not lead by the ones whos "gem-core" (the irl gem who matches their biology/appearences) has the strongest hardness on Moth's scale. They are chosen on reliability and empathy/simpathy and other factors.

A baby mineral is called a geode and a group of minerals is called a cluster

While I still like this species to look a bit more humanoid, they wouldn't look just like colorful people! I want to give them some features that distances them a bit from our fav gems: what about something like horns (perhaps made out of crystals??) And crystal grows over their bodies? Maybe a tail??

These mineral-people aren't actually made out of pure gemstone. They are called "rock elementals" for their biological structure: their blood, flesh and other bodly parts share the same chemical composition of IRL gems (a citrine quartz have both silicius and steel in their body).

This determines a few factors: the blood/flesh/skin/irises and other features' colors who are very close to match the irl gem, and also some health-related things (Mineral whose "gem-core" is colorless such as phantom quartz or goshenite would be very sensitive to the sun-light, like albino creatures, because there are not impurities that colors their skin. For example, a "Sapphire-person" would get bluer if they get a sunburn).

Also, there can be metal-cores too but they are rare. Metals can be born from two minerals who have a gem-core (and this usually happens because the metallic impurities in their body are commoner than the other rock impurities), or can be born from a metal and gem couple

Also Minerals are not immortals!!

Their life lenght depends on many factors, but they get old and die like any other living being (I'd like to think that the type of gem-core is a factor on the duration of the mineral)

Speaking about gem-core, Minerals are not named after that ofc (it can works as a nickname such as Dora for a Labradorite, but most of the time the name is not linked to the irl gem)

everyone here was soooo excited because a national channel was going to bring back this iconic tv series, directed specifically to the youth, from our childhood and adolescence that we are so nostalgic about after 11 years for them to disappoint us all with the trailer because it looks like elite 2.0

It's heartbreaking. I hate that he would put himself through something like that if it isn't something he actually wanted. I was trying to love him and give him comfort, not pain. I hate that he made that choice, and I hope he understands that my side of it was sincere.

not that anybody asked but i do think terms like "cis+" or "cisn't", which i've seen thrown around in relation to the prev post, are a bit unnecessary. to me, it just seems like excessively atomising a fairly common experience, which is the desire to not be subject to the more uncomfortable and restrictive aspects of socially constructed gender roles. and sure, it might never even occur to a lot of cis people to do this kind of introspective analysis of their gender identities, and they might therefore be lacking some of the additional perspective of someone who has, but i don't think we necessarily need need a special new category for it. when you get down to it, "cis person who has previously questioned their gender" and "cis person who has never felt the need to question their gender" are both still cis, which in theory is a value-neutral description and a perfectly fine thing to be.

#this isn't meant as a criticism of people who like those terms or find them valuable or validating #it's more just. i don't get it and i don't really see the point of them but that's fine because they're not aimed at me anyway. #if you're cis but you want to add a modifier to encapsulate your gender journey then you do you. #to me just seems a bit patronising to tell cis people they're actually cis+ or whatever #like. aww you did such a good job thinking about your gender! here is a star sticker for you that says 'more evolved than other cis people' #instead maybe we can just trust that 1. people are the experts on their own identities and experiences #if someone says they're happy to continue identifying as the gender they were assigned at birth we can probably take their word for it! #and 2. accept that we all probably have a lot more in common than we might assume #it seems like a mistake to think 'this experience (gender discomfort and introspection) is exclusively a trait of x category of person' #'so if someone from y category has experienced it they must not actually be y‚ they must be something else instead' #which allows you to comfortably continue to paint people from y group as a wholly separate other with fundamentally alien experiences #and no possible point of overlap or common ground. #i see this a lot with the eternal thorn in my side which is posts about how The Neurotypicals Do This Thing #and also with a certain flavour of ace discourse #which presumes that 1. anyone who doesn't choose to identify under the asexual identity umbrella must necessarily be allosexual #2. there is a single unifying allosexual experience which can be equally applied to the rest of the human population #and 3. no allosexual person could possibly have a complicated or fraught relationship with sex and sexuality. #or if they did have any experiences in common with asexual people they'd naturally choose to identify as ace instead. #therefore these two identities must be wholly separate groups with no experiential overlap. #like idkkkkk clearly these hyperspecific labels are useful to some people! #but to me they often just seem to generate feelings of division and othering #or they're used as a way to claim a particular experience as exceptional to one group #when it's actually a pretty common feature of the human condition.

I don't dislike mac, although i do have a problem with the way fandom tends to baby him (but this can be said of pretty much every member of the gang, it's just fandom). i actually think dennis wants mac around, he just wants him to be... his friend. instead of having to constantly fend off his advances. they are both incredibly bad for each other, but i don't personally believe that mac leaving dennis alone would improve things. dennis tries over and over again to leave and he always comes to the realization that things are better with the gang than out on his own. he struggles to form connections outside of the gang just as he struggles to form connections inside the gang. the gang will never be able to separate because they are all they have. it's an extremely dysfunctional family, but still a family.

den's "hated" mac since season 9 interestingly a revelation to come after mac's homophobic tirade on mac day, prompting him to say "not only is he ruining my life, but with all this god shit that he's into, he could be ruining my afterlife" which. i'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with anything. especially not after frank vs russia showed us that den's been queer for who knows how long. but aside from a few moments here and there, mac wasn't really actively, intentionally pursuing him until the latter half of season 12 (post-PTSDee when he realizes he's in love with dennis, and then in dennis' double life when he comes up with the plan to fake being in a relationship with him). mac is incredibly impulsive, and the majority of the time, at least before he comes out, i don't think he fully intends to harm dennis (or anyone else), he just. does. he's definitely selfish (as is the rest of the gang), and that leads to unfortunate consequences, but like in chokes, and gets romantic, and dennis' double life, his goal is that he wants dennis to love him back. he isn't explicitly trying to trap dennis, it just sort of happens when the plans don't work out. with the way he changes his plans on the fly i doubt any of it was planned out very far in advance. i think dennis' aversion to change makes him want to try and revert mac to the way he was back when they got along, but he also hates mac lying to himself too. he's the one that pushes mac to come out, over and over, and then says he's happy for mac once he does finally come out. i fully believe the reason the two of them seemed to be doing better in inflates was because with mac "taken", dennis was feeling unthreatened by him, which, ultimately, is what dennis actually wants. for mac to be dating someone else so that his sexual advances are directed elsewhere and dennis can be friends with him again.

something that i am really tired of in lgbt / trans spaces is just. the implication that people can't have complex relationships with masculinity and maleness. the idea that masculinity and manhood are rigidly fixed, that there's only one possible way to express masculinity and manhood, and that only femininity is complex, only womanhood is flexible and malleable. it really does feel like a lot of online lgbt spaces have this idea that the only "real" kind of masculinity or expression of manhood is the traditional patriarchal idea of white abled cishet masculinity, and that any other expressions of masculinity and manhood are not actually real masculinity / manhood and that not being traditionally masculine is exactly the same thing as being feminine.

it's just exhausting, because it shows that so many online lgbt spaces have swallowed this ra/dfe/m-lite idea, and it makes existing as a genderqueer trans guy completely tiring and unfun. like i have a complex relationship with my own masculinity, specifically because it is non-traditional. i feel like my masculinity is flexible, with certain aspects being very butch and certain other aspects being more open to alternate expression. but the thing about it is--i don't consider myself feminine. i don't have any kind of ties to womanhood. i might dress in a vaguely effeminate fashion if given the chance, but i'm not about to put on a dress and wear lipstick, you know? and i want to see more trans (and hell, even cis) characters who have deep and sometimes contradictory relationships with manhood and masculinity, where they aren't treated as these utterly rigid and inflexible categories that allow for absolutely no introspection or boundary-pushing. sometimes i want to see Transgressive Masculinity. the idea that only femininity can be Revolutionary and Transgressive is such r/ad/f/em shit and i am sick of it. Give Me Complex Masculinity.
