Hopper's test officially made it to the lab!

I've had some people guess at Hopper's breed mix in the past and thought it might be fun to make a poll while we wait for the test. For the sake of my sanity I'll say just vote for the two breeds you think will show up the highest in the results.

#pictures make it a little hard to see his size but reminder that he's only 15lbs. hes just VERY lanky #also expanding on the poor breeding thing: whoever bred hopper did not do so with health or structure in mind. #he has a few issues that point to the possibility of him being inbred and a few early signs of hip dysplasia that im HOPING arent true #with a docked tailed he was very much intentionally bred but my money has been on him being a doodle of some sort #as much as i hate the term lmao. but he COULD also just be a mini poodle from a byb #dogblr

I have a greyhound and one (absolutely insane) grey/wolfhound mix and I’ve always wondered if Borzoi have similar personalities to greyhounds? Obsessed with your dogs btw, love their curly little butts 😭😭😭

I think greyhounds and borzoi probably have the most similar personalities in general within the sighthound family! With the caveat different lines and different individual dogs can vary greatly.

A general like of people but not pushy about it, eccentric and funny at home. Enjoy couches and chilling tf out. Do well in “packs” granted their personal space and boundaries are respected.

The biggest differences are gonna be size and hair! Oh and greyhounds are more fragile in skin and bone. Borzoi are a bit hardier in those regards (HOWEVER a borzoi whomst wasn’t grown out properly WILL have weaker bones and be more prone to breaks). I’d say these differences aren’t overly significant if you aren’t doing lure coursing/open field tho.

you know what. i do not feel bad that family/friends delay telling me their dog acquiring news because they fear i'll be judgmental. 1.) like hmmm. why do we have something bad to judge i wonder?? 2.) i have never been incorrect in my judgements of people's backyard breeder buying habits being bad ideas for those individuals. and it's so clear that the family/friends of mine that delay their dog news know they are getting dogs from less than reputable sources just based on their behavior. like c'mon people. let's set you up for success instead.

3. If I can’t stop the unwanted behaviors, it’s because I’m training him.

4. If bad manners escalate into chasing, snapping and growling, he’s just curious/scared/annoyed (which makes it OK).
