Candystripe Snuul!

Turns out I was being impatient, lol. My designer pet was added this morning, and oh, my goodness are they lovely. I haven't been able to stop buying them. Good thing I have more coins than I know what to do with.

Here is one of my favorites so far:

I'm hoping to collect 1,000 of them before they are retired in two months, but mine aren't the only designer pets added today, and the others are pretty, too, so I'll be spending a lot of time shopping in the new year, lol.

This is an Imperial fountain pen made of cream and red candy-striped black celluloid from the late 1940s.  The coin edge cap top with washer clip and overall shape recall the Parker Duofold pens from the 1920s.  It was made by the Imperial Pen and Pencil Company of Nassau, New York, founded in 1945 and operated until bankruptcy in 1956.  It's a 5 inch long lever fill fountain pen with a warranted 14 karat gold nib.  The clip is stamped with a crown next to IMPERIAL.  There are no other markings on the pen.  Instead of a cap band, the cap lip has five grooves cut near the lip.  The trim is lightly gold plated and most of that is worn off.

Imperial’s most unusual pen was a very oddball pen that had a spare nib, the Imperial Reserve Fountain Pen. Read more about the company and that pen here:

Merry Christmas to Me

Well, I did it! As my Christmas present to myself, I went ahead and submitted my own designer pet pattern - the Candystripe Snuul!

It was a bit expensive for a pet game, but I think I'm worth it, lol. It cost 5 million coins (ouch) and 10 red swirl stones, which are the site's premium currency. Depending on if they were purchased during a sale or not (I never buy unless it's on sale) that's between $5 and $10 USD.

But look at it! I think it's absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait until they become available in the designer pet shop. I'll have a mere two months to buy as many of them as I can, so RIP my coins for a while. I still plan to make Xanje Billionaire by the end of next year, though, so stay tuned.

Another great thing about snuuls that I haven't mentioned is that you can race them. That's right, racing snails. How cool is that! And you can breed them to get better stats. I currently have Xanje's fastest snuul (that I know of) and I plan to breed these like crazy to finally break the race time of 30 seconds. (Most snuuls take between 2 and 3 minutes to complete a race).
