steve really likes back scratches.

he doesn’t like to be the little spoon very often. he prefers to wrap himself around you but sometimes when he’s feeling a little needy he will lay in front of you with his shirt off so that you can drag your nails all over his back.

it started out when he was laying in front of you one day and you started scribbling in words with your nail asking him to guess what they were but he ended up just falling asleep and now whenever he’s having a bad day he needs it, can’t fall asleep without it.

You don't feel nostalgia?

Oh? The past isn't a ghost in your lungs? The person you where doesn't haunt your heart? You don't look at the child you were as someone you had to kill and consume in some divine right of passage to grow and move on? You don't think of your childhood best friend who loved a version of yourself who is long dead and buried, and wonder if they mourn those kids the way you do? You don't enter your childhood bedroom and feel the vespers of the past catch in your throat as you breathe in. You don't carry the passage of time as a rock in your stomache?

Well, I do, I wonder.

Do the monkey bars of the park I used to run through remember the feel of my callouses the way I do? Is the paint still chipped the way I remember? Or has the city dug it all up and built something new the same way I did when I left it.

Is there anything left of me in this place? Other than a memory?
