My favourite small-inconsequential-detail thing in the Apothecary Diaries light novel is Maomao not referring to people (or sometimes animals) by their name. At least in her head.
The Quack Doctor is the main example. I'm several books in and his name has only come up once. Even his sister became Aunty Quack shortly after showing up on the page.
The lion barely got a second mention before being demoted to scarf-cat.
Some characters never get names at all, just being referred to by their job or relation to other characters. There's even an occasion where a semi established character does actually have a name, but still gets rebranded by his similarity to a well established character.
It just does a lot to hammer in Maomao's characteristics as an autistic little cat weirdo.
But then! My favourite is how she refers to His Most Esteemed Personage the Emperor as "the sex crazed old man". On Numerous Occasions.

Eurovision Fact #466:
Tumblr media
For a majority of Finland's time in the Eurovision Song Contest, the nation has opted to sing in Finnish.
The nation sang exclusively in Finnish until 1973, when Marion Rung's 'Tom Tom Tom' brought English language songs into the mix. This was due to the fact that 1973 saw changes to the contest's language rules, allowing all participants to sing in any language of their choosing.
For four straight years, the nation only sent songs that were in English, but this streak was ended by the reintroduction of the language rules allowing nations to only sing in their national languages. Thus, the nation sang in Finnish (and Swedish once) until 1994.
However, the English included in CatCat's 'Bye Bye Baby' was simply the song's title repeated as a chorus.
Finland took a bit of a break from the Eurovision Song Contest after 1998, but when they returned, the language rules were no more, and thus began a streak of English language songs from 2000 to 2007.
After 2008, the nation sang in Finnish only four times, and tried their hand at singing in Swedish once more as well.
Käärijä's 2023 song 'Cha Cha Cha' marks the first time in eight years that Finland sent a Finnish language song to the contest, and it's the most successful Finnish language song in the history of the contest.

CatCat - Yksin Sateeseen (and its many versions)
youtube
I was visiting my parents for Easter. We brought some stuff to dad's seasonal cafeteria. Radio was on and song that started playing caught my attention.
Dramatic start. Female vocals. Danceable. 90's sound. What is this song?! Why I haven't heard of it before? I went in closer to hear the lyrics. Quick search revealed it was CatCat's Yksin Sateeseen.
CatCat is a Finnish dance pop group formed in early 90's. They represented Finland in Eurovision in 1994 with their song "Bye Bye Baby"
Sure has a classic quality. Danceable, melancholic sound. Could be described as danceable iskelmä (schlager), which is popular in Finland.
However, it's not the only version of the song! Another Finnish electronic music legend Hausmylly made a cover of it on their 2005 album "Sateesta Aurinkoon"
youtube
Actually I was directed to this version first, when I searched the song by the lyrics. It's more energetic, with slight vocal effects and more guitar driven. Actually I enjoy this cover, well done Hausmylly! Actually I haven't really listened Hausmylly ever, are they any good?
CatCat did a celebratory version of the song on their 25th anniversary album.
youtube
Why are they always smiling like that...
I don't think this works. Very high energy, but it lacks something?
I think I enjoy the original most, Hausmylly cover coming close second. Maybe I should listen radio more to discover old Finnish dance classics?
