alex finds out you are sick only thanks to your mom who tells him, and he immediately shows up at your door. he’s angry, a well-prepared speech on the tip of his tongue, but once he sees how bad you’re feeling, alex forgets all about his anger. he guides you with a hand on your shoulder back to your bedroom and stays with you all day even if he doesn’t know what to do. alex panics when you run to the bathroom to throw up, but follows you and strokes your hair through it, words of affection leaving his mouth. “what you want to do? it will make you feel better.” so you two end up cuddling in bed after doing your skincare, watching your favorite movie.

daniel doesn’t let anyone come near you or disturb you because “she needs to rest and if i see anyone bothering her you’re out of the house.” he takes care of you but he also lets you know how upset he is that you are sick, listing all of the times he told you to be careful and take care of yourself. daniel constantly checks your temperature to ensure you are okay, leaving kisses all over your face and making you giggle because that’s the only way to tell, according to him. to help you sleep he brings out his guitar and signs you a lullaby until you stop cringing and, eventually, fall asleep.

mick treats you as if you’re made out of glass and are going to break at any moment. he’s more scared than worried and you have to assure him that you are going to be okay, that it’s just a simple cold. he hugs you like you’re going to disappear whispering “i wish i was the one sick and not you.” which makes you feel so loved. he stays glued to your side until you are no longer sick, and even then he stills checks with you that everything is okay.

same anon that was intrigued about your Charles & William reading… just had additional thoughts… Is it possible that Charles’ attitude towards his sons have something to do with Diana. The obvious narrative would be that he was jealous of Diana so he would be jealous of the son who resembles her physically. But maybe these are the other possible scenarios:

• Charles sees a lot of Diana’s personality in Harry. The extreme sensitivity, the neediness. Obviously, a lot of what Harry has done, he’s copied from the Diana playbook (interviews, books). Charles sees this, and perhaps, he feels guilty about what happened to his first wife and the hand he played in making her so unhappy before her life tragically ended, which is why he has a blind spot for Harry. He doesn’t want something unthinkable to happen to Harry. He probably wants Harry back for this reason. In this scenario, it’s possible he sees William in the position he was in before. William is the Charles to Harry as Charles was to Diana. So he sees William as weak, insecure, and jealous, because he knows that he himself was weak and insecure about Diana, and he blames his weakness and insecurity for not being more mature in dealing with Diana. He can’t see why William wouldn’t be as willing to welcome back Harry with open arms. William might have other reasons for this (i.e, his family’s wellbeing) but Charles can’t see William’s point of view because he’s blinded by his guilt about Diana.

• The reverse scenario in which William is Diana and Harry is Charles. Idk if you’ve read the articles about Jobson’s book about Charles, but apparently there’s a story in it about an argument between William & Charles that has left Chales “shaken”. I’ve read one article that sort of blames Diana for William’s temperament. In the past, Charles had blamed Diana’s emotional outburts for making him feel depressed and therefore needing Camilla back to save him. Charles, grown man that he was, saw himself as the pitiful, helpless victim to his younger wife’s unpredictable, unstable emotions. William comes across to me as someone who keeps everything in until he’s unable to anymore and lashes out in righteous anger. Charles sees William’s temper as the Diana in him. On the other hand, he probably looks at Harry and sees a pitiful, helpless victim of his circumstances, limited by his position in life as the spare, struggling through his hard life. He sees himself in this because although he was the heir, he has struggled through bullying. I can only imagine the bottomless pit of self-pitying he experienced, which is something he sees in Harry as well, which is why he’s more sympathetic to his younger son.

Those are both intriguing theories. I lean more towards the second one, as I do think that Charles has a lot of sympathy for Harry. He does seem to expect William to do things his (Charles's) way and to let him keep the perks of being the Prince of Wales (e.g not paying rent for the house  Llwynywermod) even though he no longer holds that position. I wonder if Charles had similar expectations of Princess Diana, i.e. that she would behave in a certain way, and if he was similarly 'miffed' when she had thoughts and feelings of her own that did not conform to the picture he had in his mind of how his wife would behave. It would be very sad if he kept playing out his relationship with his first wife through his sons, as they are people of their own and deserve to be treated as such.

First watch: 10 Years Ticket episodes 13-16 (finale)

Whew! That was a wild ride. Great twists, great flashback reveals, great performances all around. I highly recommend this show. Content warning for violence - it is a crime drama after all, one that focuses more on the criminal's families, with the criminals more as side characters who wreak havoc.

The only complaint I have about the writing is that a significant character does something very stupid which does not end well.

We do get more about the QL subplot between two middle-aged women, neither of whom dies.

Lots of other people die.

I learn more about Thai Buddhist funeral customs than I ever learned before.

I haven't mentioned that a lot of the story revolves around characters' love of film. I used to be very much into film, not so much in my later years, but I can tell it means a lot to them and adds to the texture of the story.

One more thing I thought about is that this is Ohm Pawat's at least second series as a son of a family that is warring with another family that used to be friends. Of course, Bad Buddy was a comedy with some drama, and 10 Years Ticket is hard drama with sparse comic moments, but the parallels are interesting.

No, the two women don't end up together again, but they end up on good terms. I have mixed feelings about this. I think it's justified dramatically, but my lesbian bestie tells me lesbian stories rarely end well. It's too much to ask one series to carry that weight, but I hope among the lesbian series we'll be getting this coming year and - if we support them - beyond that happy endings will be abundant.

We've known since episode 4 that Luk didn't do it. We learn why she confessed, and that she didn't know who actually killed her lover/Phukao's (Ohm's) step-brother Mai. We see the killing in a flashback, that, as we saw in 9-12 with the police lieutenant, the big boss took Piak's gun and shot Mai, then returned the gun to Piak.

We learn that, despite treating Kongkwan and her family as enemies, Phukao loves Kongkwan (and vice versa) and we watch their relationship soften and develop further. We didn't get the Bad Buddy parents to openly accept their children's relationship. We do get the 10 Years Ticket parents, at least the surviving ones - Phukao's parents Santi and Sai and Kongkwan's father Somkiat - to accept the relationship.

Yes, I said surviving ones. Kongkwan's mother Veena makes the mistake of filming the aftermath of a killing at the big boss's home, then showing it to the police inspector - who was there at the time - after he arrests her husband when they plant drugs in his truck. The inspector frees the husband, but later ransacks their home when Veena returns home alone. The next thing we know, the police are showing up at Somkiat, Veena, and KongKwan's home to let them know about Veena's death. I know this was needed plot-wise, but I wish they had written it some other way.

Phukao wrongly blames himself for Veena's death, and says that if he hadn't brought Kongkwan home late, Veena would still be alive. Actually, it's more likely that Somkiat and Kongkwan would also be dead and, depending on the timing, possibly Phukao. But because they didn't know what happened when Veena came home or why, they had no way to know that.

In a confrontation in the theater, Piak kills the police inspector and his assistant, then Piak and the big boss kill each other. I'm not an expert on gun violence but it strained my credulity that Sor and Plu weren't injured or killed during the standoff. It's bizarre to watch Pin (Sai's old flame) and Sor walk through the bloody theater aisle - aren't they afraid of leaving shoeprints?

At this point, everyone who was a witness to who actually shot Mai is now dead. Fortunately, Chalee, one of the drug dealers, turns himself in and talks, resulting in Luk's release from prison five months later. I guess he didn't mention Sor (Gunsmile's character) and Plu (Off's character) as they are still free to attend the film screening the characters stage as a memorial to Veena.

A long ass Nevra pov for the last episodes because I feel you guys don't do him justice

I'm sorry not to be a Nevra apologist but I'm imagining this episode (and last one) from his pov and it really saddens me, specially if I fit it to my headcanon storyline:

1- He has to take a bunch of people to a strange murderous world he knows nothing about while being responsible for their lives

2- Even with that responsability, he can't really do anything but use his senses to be more cautious, something only Erika seems to take seriously.

3- His lover is having the wrost time and he can't do much to change that, and on top of that both Erika and Huang Chu, a guard leader, suspect of Mathieu being a traitor. Because the Guard is 50% royal runaways and 50% traitors

4- Going with Erika to her house, watching her break before him and having to prioritize the mission over her feelings, even knowing he has a major role in her current problems (potion consequences).

5- Some strange soldier comes to take Erika away and he decides to trust her and let her go without even a proper plan to the gods know where with who for what. And the hours she takes to come back? Please I couldn't be more anxious

6- They kidnap half of HIS team before him and he doesn't even know how. Imagine being that utterly helpless as a leader. One of them being the sister of one of his only close friends and boss. Then go to his girlfirend's house, where his abusive father (like his own) lives and needs to explain to her how his father is not trustworthy and may want to kill her.

7- "This sketchy things my father do and the dangerous situations we are getting ourselves into are totally ok" Erika darling how do I spell this out to you we absolutely need an escape route. Erika please don't accept to be alone with Chales, you said 30 seconds ago that was the worst case scenario.

8- After an eternity of waiting by themselves, he hears trouble and they are attacked on their way down, and then finds ERIKA WITH HUANG CHU AND CAMERIA ALONG WITH OVER 30 HALF DEAD FAERIES BEING ALMOST KILLED.

9- Suddenly there are 30 faeries they didn't know had been abducted under their nose, including children, to take back to Eldarya, having to make them arrive through a portal that was half a city away. His lover, who he thought was having a chat with her father, had her own vomit all over her and almost falling to the ground. All as a hell lot of soldiers only he hears come for them, having to carry 30 prisioners in that state with only 3 people being able to fight. Chances are they all die in there, so I understand how he is not going to break the party to go search for Leiftan, who had already been looked for unsuccesfully. 100% chance of getting all of them killed.

10- They could massacre dozens of people, sure, that would only lead to international forces being involved and dragging the public and several countries into this war against Eldarya, which they are already loosing and the enemy is only one niche organitation. That would also incite a declared war premise so it would give the humans green light to return the favor. Those are still a lot of lives to take, period. And Erika would have to take a lot of them.

11- If his problem was the sun, then he is ok at this point, but if he has the vampire sickness, he is probably already suffering.

12- They barely make it out JUST from the building (they had to cross the city unprotected), and Erika asks for her missing ex-boyfriend, who she thinks Nevra hates and who he believes she still loves. And let's say he heard Leiftan there, how does he tell her that there is simply no way he can let her go for him when that surely leads to her death. Specially when Leiftan's life is now a valuable resource for them, since it's one of the only faeries they have left. Do you really think he relishes in leaving Leif there? come on, even logically it makes no sense to leave an eldaryan there, specially one with such power and knowledge.

13- So damn right he is not risking everything for him, his own feelings aside, if she dies then the worlds die with her.

14- Back outside: he is lost, hurting from the sun (HOPEFULLY, BC THE ALTERNATIVE IS WORSE), and guilty about taking Erika out by force, and also probably lying to her. She, who just found out her father is the leader of the organitation that almost killed her as they did with several others. He sees how Erika hurst from leaving Leiftan there, the one he thinks she truly loves, and blame herself for the choice he made. He can only think of how hard it would hit her if he died. Considering their lives are not linked.

14.5- Imagine you are hyper-sensitive and are used to rely on your hearing, then stepping in a crowded multitude full of high and low pitched sounds, noises, uncountable voices and more sounds you don't recognise. Boy I get anxiety for having adhd hiper-acusia. He also stated when Erika lost her powers how helpless he would feel without his... just like that.

15- Lover's abusive father responsible for several war crimes and their enemy makes an entrance and proceeds to drive Erika to the edge. Nevra inmediately refuses his offers because he is positive Erika would accept, because his heart simply cannot take her staying behind, because Charles obviously know about her identity and wants to use her powers to his gain, meaning both bad news to Eldarya and who knows how much emotional distress to Erika.

16- He actually ensures Leiftan's life as well as he can by threatening Charles like that. (And it worked, Charles ordered that no one touched him. His subordinates just disobeyed, making me think he is being toyed with by someone else)

17- When they get back I really hope he is no longer hurting from the sun and that he is not told he has this evil arcane vampire sickness, which tbh is probably the case because why else would they even make up something like that just to discard that later. Erika doesn't ask about this. She doesn't ask how he is.

18- They have to go get Leiftan back and he cannot deny that he is the best option for the job, as much as he wants to stay with Erika that night. But he is resposible for Leiftan's fate, Erika's ex-boyfriend who she probably still loves and whose death he cannot allow to haunt her. So he returns to Earth without saying goodbye and bringing his own sister into that hell of a world.

19- Erika is responsible of saving the world as imposed by the oracle, and that's a lot, but there are 2 worlds, and in one of them he is literally the second authority holding the actual political responsability. Like, of all Eldarya, the one whose actual job is to fix this shit is firstly Huang Hua and right next to her: him. And tbh they go a little in tandem and her decisions are mostly based on his opinions, so one could argue that he not only feels responsible, but actually is responsible of saving the world.

So yeah, I do get why he acts the way he does I'm sorry I don't care if he comes off as rude sometimes, he is the boss after all.

Chapter 5 - Life Is A Game

Kiara told me that she wanted to meet me on Friday when her friends are out partying. She also told me to stay back for dinner, if I could. 

I said okay. Not that I was doing something productive anyway. I would have probably gone to the gym and practiced taekwondo to the point that I would faint from exhaustion and I would get carried to my bedroom and sleep. I still don't know who carries me to my bedroom, but this is not what I am supposed to be thinking about. 

I was more confused about the fact that she didn't want her friends around when we were at her apartment. Weird. 

I reach her apartment and it was very nicely put together, but there were some elements that looked off, like the way the Eiffel Tower was positioned and the misplaced things all over the apartment. 

I also met with Alka, Kiara's maid and she is very sweet. She kept putting the things in the right way, but Kiara would just it back to her liking. I found that quite amusing. 

"So, you wanted to talk?" 

"Yeah..." 

"About what?" 

"About you." 

"What about me?" 

"That's what I don't understand, I mean...I don't know, there is something so mysterious about you that really intrigues me and when I tried talking to my friends, they all said the same thing." 

"And what, exactly?" 

"I should talk to you so that I can understand." 

"Your friends have said the right thing. Whatever doubts, concerns, or just anything, you just have to know I'll be listening, and not just hearing." 

"You know, I figured what was bothering me." 

"And what was it?" 

"You feel like as I have seen an older version of me." 

"Because we are so similar to each other. And it does makes sense, in a weird way. Because the first time I had met you, I felt I was meeting with my younger self, not that I am not young anyway, but you know you get the point." 

"Can I ask you a question?" 

"Yeah." 

"Who is he?" 

"Who are you talking about?" 

"The guy on your phone's wallpaper." 

She means Jug. 

"I told you, someone, special." 

"But the way you said, it felt like you were missing him almost...as if..." 

"As if?" 

"I don't know. Something's off."

"No, I am not angry at him. I am angry at the circumstances that we had, and the things that should have happened said, and done. But you know what makes me angrier and more upset: The things that I always wanted to say to him, the things that I wanted to do with him, and most importantly the things that I always wanted to say but never had the courage because I was afraid of the consequences." 

"What did you want to say to him?" 

"I love you. Just come back. I am sorry for hurting you, but I am not sorry for what I am going to do." 

After, a long and awkward 10 mins, I decided that I needed to leave. 

"Anyway, I should go now. " 

"Madam, aap pehle khana khakar chale jaa na." 

"Nahin Alka. Aaj nahin. Phir kabhi. Aur  Tum mujhe sirf Priya keheke bulaoge aur kuch nahin. Tumhari madam nahin hoon main." 

"And another thing Kiara. We people like solving mysteries because we know the danger is contained and does not impact our lives. People like intrigue, search, enjoy, play, and wonder. It does not mean it won't bite you back in the ass. Be careful about what you choose to do, because it will have a consequence." 

Then I left before I would start crying. Life is a game, and in this move, life was winning and I was losing.
