🥺🥺 I don’t typically do a lot of tags but i was tagged by the lovely @hamsternamedmarinette in this post by @chicoriii​ to talk abt how/when I got introduced to miraculous & what my first impression was and everything and I remembered I have a cute story abt it lol

so my first exposure to ml was probably around 2015-2016 (when I was in like 8th grade) through seeing random gifsets and art floating around quizup my social media of choice & I became interested in it bc like, yes the bug girl & catboy show looked weird but also I was weird. I was a weirdo. I didn’t Fit In . I'm pretty only the first season was out when I started watching it, but I was immediately hooked and adopted it as a lifelong interest I guess bc i’ve been watching pretty regularly as the episodes air ever since

anyway I was very public about a lot of my embarrassing interests back then but ml was the one that I swore was too weird to actually talk about (due to it being targeted at actual 7 year olds) so here is the story of the first time I found a Miraculous Friend sdfjsdlk

How and when did you get introduced to Miraculous? What was your first impression?

So I keep forgetting a specific time, but I have to say it was during what I like to refer to as the “1st wave of ML fan creators”. Could be 2016 to be specific. I had seen a lot of fan art with Adrien and Marinette popping up on my FB from random reshares from my college friends and figured “Ok, this cute couple must be from some kind of show because I see them too often for them to just be OC’s at this point.” so I got on to investigate and realized it was from a show called Miraculous. I figured since the fan arts of them as a couple were so cute, I’d give the show a try and found it on Netflix, going in fully expecting to not get invested because it’s a “kids show”. . .

Yeah, NO lol

The first episode I watched was Stormy Weather, and I fell in love with the show’s animation, Marinette and Adrien, and since 3D animation was my main thing that year, I ended up digging myself into a deep hole in tip I hit the bottom of the jar and realized I had finished all of season 1 and there was no S2 out yet. I actually watched the entire season in one full day that I didn’t have class and remember feeling so sad and empty knowing there was no S2 yet. . . Will Adrien and Mari find out who they really are? Is Hawkmoth actually Gabriel playing dress up? (yes) Can Lila go somewhere and like kick rocks? Will I ever know?!?!? (Anyways I had a lot going on regardless so I had no issue going a brief hiatus right after to focus on school/life)

As for the fandom for myself 1-2 years later, I was cautious of coming back to tumblr for reasons and experience from my younger tumblr days, but then I finally built my courage to rejoin in full force sometime around 2018 to interact with the ML fandom. . . And I haven’t regretted it! I was expecting to be shunned away but it’s been very inviting salt aside up until today still. Now, it’s almost 3 years later and I’m still here, not just because I’ve accepted I can’t leave but also because I really enjoy it and look forward to what’s to come with both canon ML and fellow fan creators!

Love Square Fluff Week 2020 comes to wrap!

Man this week flew by so fast! We had so many great pieces of writing and art work!!

Finally I found time to make a new Plagg art wearing a fedora for my new icon purpose. It's, of course, inspired by early scene from the first season 4 episode, in which Tikki is trying few hats on made my Marinette for her.

Why a fedora? Because I think fedoras as so cool.

@adrinetteapril Day 25: Shooting Star

My previous art for the "sunset" prompt was supposed to be my last one for this year's Adrienette April, but on the Monday morning I've got another idea. And this is definitely my last work for the event! I'm happy I manged to finish it before the end of April.

It's been inspired by the New York special, Adrien and Marinette are eating magical hot-dogs again, but this time to enjoy a shooting star. Painting Adrien's hair was a pain like always, but I even somewhat quite like it this time.

Adrien and Plagg are my favourite characters in the whole show and their relationship is my favourite non-romantic one. I love when they're playing piano together in the show, so I wanted to draw an art about it.

They are playing some happy piano jazz, like this and this piece (can't decide which one, so take both ;)).

Also I could not decide which version of the background is better, darker or lighter, so I post both.

@adrinetteapril Day 23: Sunset

I've been planning doing this for ages and when I've seen "Sunset" prompt for Adrienette April 2021, I knew it's time. This art is mostly about the scenery, as I wanted to learn how to paint sunset at the sea so much. It's definitely my best thing (and the last one) I made for this year's Adrienette April and it haven't even taken too much time.

The only art I made for this year Ladrien June. Ladybug watching Adrien's photoshoot from a longer distance. Adrien wears hoodie, because I loves hoodies, and thanks to it I didn't need to paint his all hair. ;)

I'm still trying to find a good way how to paint skin and make good backgrounds.

I wanted to draw Fei since I've seen the Shanghai special for the first time. She is awesome and definitely my favourite character from all the specials. I also want to dedicate this art to @ultrakart because I know he is also her big fan.

There's also lineart of Ladydragon in the background, not random Chinese dragon.

Expect more Shanghair-related fanarts from me. I'm still surprised how much I enjoyed it, especially since I generally don't care that much about specials, I'm interested in the main series much more.

And that's a nice change to work on an digital art without time pressure and painting something very slowly.

@mlsecretsanta gift for @strangerahne . You most probably don't know me, but I think that's great we could get to know each other that way. I hope you like this little digital painting. It should have been done earlier, but I needed to improve things over and over again, like always. I wanted to make it the best I could at this moment.

Marichat was first on the list of your favourite ships, but when I noticed that Adrienette and Cheesecake/Plikki ships are second together, I've came up with the idea of making an art with double date of humans and Kwamis. I hope you like this idea, too. This is pre-reveal scenario in which Adrien and Marinette are too focused on each other to realize that their Kwamis have their own romantic moments. You need to recognize an effort that Plagg made to get a lollipo for Tikki. ;)

It’s finally done! :)

I haven't been planning making art for this prompt, but the Shanghai special inspired me to do something. I still like it more than any of already released season 4 episodes, not to mention overrated New York special. ;) I want to so more fanarts with Chinese character, they are so cool!

I was worried about Wang Cheng, but he and Bastille look the best on the picture. I'm absolutely not satisfied with Adrien and Marinette.

My entry for @edendaphne DTIYS. I haven't read the fanfic, but I really like this design of Chat Noir, because I love hoods. I could wear hoodies all the time. :D

Unfortunately, I don't like it much. I thought it's going to be an easy and quick art, but it didn't go the way I wanted, although it took much more time than I expected. I was worried about folds, but I've found some references and it wasn't that bad, to be fair, it went better than anything else on this art. Again hair looks awful, despite all attempts, I'm still not able to paint Chat/Adrien's hair decently.

For @chatnoirinette DTIYS.

I didn't plan to do it, but I've got an idea to make a Ladybug-themed of the juice, so it is. Initially, it was supposed to be an original art, but when I've been making few screenshots for references, I've got an idea to redraw a frame from New York special in which Chat Noir offers a Caprisun to Ladybug instead of a yellow rose. I've chosen a moment in which he makes the most flirty expression. To make an already cheesy scene even more cheesy.

Thanks @emsylcatac for helping to write juice’s flavor name in French. It means something like strawberry for Ladybug. :)

It was also supposed to be done in my typical style, but once I misclicked on the "wrong" brush I made some time ago for the background for my Ladrien art, and I thought it would be cool to make the whole art using that brush which was supposed to imitate soft pastel. This is why I'm also posting this without blurred Ladybug, because when she is blurred then effect of the brush is lost. I hope you like it.

This is also my last art this year, so HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR ALL!!!
