I absolutely love it when Mob and Reigen just look at the people they're fighting and with their whole chests just go, "you're the biggest loser I've ever met and you're not fucking special" and suddenly the people they're fighting are like, "oh my god you're right I am a loser and I'm not special" and then they're bffs and everything is great

just so you know how normal the UK is, left wing climate change activists and anti-monarchy protesters are getting jail time and beaten for simply holding up banners and being considered disruptive whilst right wing bullshitters against shit like ULEZ (literally about having areas that are specifically for ultra low emissions so we, y'know, don't constantly have to breathe in fucking car fumes and other pollutants because some fucking people actually bizarrely want to???) and road safety limits EVEN FUCKING RIGHT NEAR SCHOOLS are driving basically massive vehicles through the streets and are not considered a disruptive protest

I’m going to fucking strangle whoever at Netflix decided that it was a good idea to implement the new password sharing rules. They deserved to be stoned. Or left in the ocean to drown or die of hypothermia. I am violent right now.

Hey, you recently reblogged the first page of my ‘Rewind’ comic, which is the continuation/fix-it I asked you months ago if I could make and in your reblog you wondered where I’ll take it.
I actually finished the whole comic months ago and even made an animatic video of it (you can easily find it on YouTube), so you can see how the rest of the comic goes. Plus I’m making a midquel comic for it too.
Plus I’m thinking that if anyone continues to ask you about what happened to Six in your ‘Channel change’ comic, perhaps point them in the direction of my ‘Rewind’ comic. That way the boys can still have their happy ending in your comic, but Six and someone who was left out entirely of Channel change aren’t left in the dark.
Though I do find it your explanations pretty biased with how you mentioned how Six ruined Mono’s life but neglect to mention that he ruined hers too by releasing the Thin Man and cursing her with the hunger that ended up costing Six’s innocence and humanity. And given that he is the one who cursed her with the hunger in the first place, RK’s death is partially on him.
Oh im very excited to see the animatic for it!!! I noticed there were more pages with links, I'll have to go and read and reblog those too.
I don't recall if I said Six ruined Mono's life. But Six purposefully dropped him, while Mono didn't know the Thin Man was behind the door until he opened it, and he also didn't know the Thin Man would capture Six and cause her hunger pains. (which aren't really explained even now) I don't think Mono knew he WAS the Thin Man either.
We don't know why Six dropped Mono, we just know that she came to hate him after he destroyed her music box.
I will say, I adore Raincoat Girl and Six's relationship you portrayed in the comic! But in the actual game, Six and the Raincoat girl sadly don't have much of a relationship. They assist each other, but not more than necessary. Raincoat Girl is being chased by the Butler. She runs straight past Six (who was collapsed on the ground) without helping her up. Someone bangs on the door of the shed, highly likely to be Six. Raincoat girl locks it, refusing her entry. (and potentially leaving her for dead; or as bait)
At the end of the story, Raincoat girl dies, and the game suggests that Six goes down to a boat and snatches her raincoat to wear for herself. (What kind of person wears a dead friend's clothing?)
and also I don't know if the mobile game is canon or not since it seems like Tarsier studios had a different backstory in mind for Six (growing up in the city instead of lost at sea hopping from ship to ship)
But the point is we don't have any explanation for why Six is the way she is. She has a malicious side to her, she is untrusting, she's a lone wolf, but she also knows kindness, she also knows when she needs help, she also finds comfort in soothing music, and she's best known for fleeing from situations and usually only harming people when absolutely necessary.
Her ending being ambiguous in my Channel Change comic is only to let the viewers know she's not part of Mono and Seven's story because intentional or not, bad things have happened to them when Six is involved.

If you make ME2 deeper than they likely intended, you can read Morinth and Samara as two sides as of the same person, and killing one will always kill the other in some way.
#OOC / HOLLY.#MOBILE.#smth smth Morinth as all the freedom and hedonism Samara once reveled in#smth smth Morinth as all her cleverness and tenacity and strength#but also her capacity for violence and debauchery and flightiness#smth smth the fight between out worst impulses and selfishness vs the ethics and social norms that keep them in check#smth smth that quote from Stoker as having children so we can wipe the slate clean#but also smth smth generational trauma#smth smth Samara and Morinth being identical in appearance and Morinth being able to minic her exactly. to assume her identity#smth smth Justicars and Ardat-Yakshi as two ends of an extreme#both killers who can topple states singlehandedly#one bound by a brutal Code. one unbound and simply brutal#smth smth Justicars embodying justice and the norms of asari nature#Ardat-Yakshi representing destruction and chaos and the antithesis of those norms#I should sleep I get up early#but it’s JUST !! they are two ends of an extreme in every way#in a sense two ends of a whole person#killing one is always killing the other. the surviving one doesn’t survive for long / can never be truly complete#but they’re irreconcilable they can never come together#all those TOS eps where Kirk met his evil doppleganger only to learn the darkness is an essential part of himself but must be restrained by#his morals and compassion. then they merge and he’s whole and functional again#smth smth Samara giving birth to all her weaknesses all her mistakes everything she wanted to leave behind#but you can’t just lock that away#spend 430 years hunting literally your personal demons personified who si your daughter that you birthed and raised#I’m not making sense anymore I’m just half asleep and a lil unhinged about these two

nvm the americans in the notes going “i live in america you don’t want privatized healthcare” are normies and fine it’s the fucking americans going LISTEN HERE YOU FUCKS
americans stop pretending you’re the main characters in the story and eat my entire ass
#i want to have empathy for the story they gave but to start off like a total wanker talking down to us like ontarians haven#t been freaking out about this and talking about it over and over for years now is disgusting#we don't need you to increase the fucking font size and yell at us like we're children we fucking know we don't want goddamn privatized#healthcare jesus christ i hate looking at cdnpoli online bc americans never stop making it about them as if they're the only one#who have ever suffered from bad policy or some shit and the rest of us are dumb fools needing to be told by y'all#i Know. we all personally fucking know bc there's plenty of instances like the story in the notes having already happened here#this bill would just be another last push. he's already done so much damage and if you cared you would know exactly what and how#GOD i hate this but it's so frustrating to see americans make it about themselves as if i don't have enough trouble#every single fucking day talking to canadians about this shit. bc so many normie libs are obsessed with looking at america okay just#stop it. if we can shut up and support y'all during your political struggles by god you can try to do it for us#anyways i guess the vote offered doesn't even mean anything but idk why i thought there would be#there's actually no stopping it unless somehow ford got booted in the next day but that's not a thing#it's just capitalism lol. and fascism. bc he's already violated the charter and there's already brutality and capitalism demands more and#more. violating federal law some more to make sure the rich can devour our corpses some more is just inevitable

after listening and reading to the coverage and discussion of this second major shooting within ~10 days it’s just so clear to me that this fucking country refuses to reckon with the utter root of the problem. and that is the nearly always men who can and are allowed to take out any emotions they have on everyone and anyone via violence. they’re told they can hurt and kill people, they go hurt and kill people, they’re allowed to keep hurting and killing people. that is why this keeps happening.
and if it’s not super apparent with the upcoming repeal of roe plus the attack on DV victims/metoo backlash (& much more), this all ties back with rising violence from men who feel that their place in the world is threatened. with racist, anti-immigrant, anti-semitic, islamophobic, homophobic, transphobic, and yes misogynistic motivations. it has become tangibly more vitriolic and hateful as of late. yet raining terror down on people abroad and at home is what this country has always been about and will continue to be about, to serve violent primarily white men
america breeds extremism, always has, and I’m dying for mainstream discourse on this to really happen. other factors regarding mass shootings particularly include: gun control of fucking course; everything about the media coverage of shootings; unregulated internet forums aiding radicalization; the culture of worshipping violence in america; and overall, white men slowly losing privilege/their rule being challenged. until we can say that out loud in public, on tv, every day, nothing’s changing. so many oppressed groups have gained power to exist and be freer recently, but white men have not changed, and many of them are willing to kill us all to stop from changing. that’s it

I recently was rewatching the start of the movie Vendetta (gotta really rewatch that soon) and it made me realize something pretty relevant and that is that women RARELY are shown all beaten up and shit like men are on screen. Women dead and bleeding yeah but... There was something about how the protagonist's wife looked like in that movie that was simply pretty disturbing even for me.
And that did make me think, is this a good or a bad thing? Because on one hand, you could argue it's bad because people refuse to show women on screen as anything but sexy and desirable and just beautiful even when dead; yet you could also argue it's good because it doesn't fullfil any sick fucker's fantasies.
Though thinking back on it now, as i write this, I'm inclined to think it's more of the first case, because the second demography gets a lot of what they want pretty easily anyway so 🤔

this post is not gonna be well put together but i am having feelings
mean girls is trending right now because the musical movie just came out and i feel insane. idk why i do, it was stupid of me to think that most people Got It, no one ever gets it, it was always about the memes and the aesthetic.
the first mean girls movie was based on a nonfiction book called queen bees and wannabes. it interviewed and discussed the social hierarchy system in teen girl friendships. how they hold each other to these insane standards of heternormative femininity out of sheer terror that they won't meet those standards themselves. the way they leverage their relationships for some small degree of power in a world designed to strip them of it, even if it drags other girls down.
the "you can only wear your hair in a ponytail once a week and on wednesdays we wear pink" speech was not an original creation for the script. it's a QUOTE from a real teenage girl. those were REAL RULES.
then the musical came, and it was one step removed from the intended messaging of the film. OG mean girls was not perfect (and was extremely racist), but it said what needed said. the musical leaned on the comedy more, but still left a heartfelt undertone, and still critiqued the systems in place. of course no piece of media is going to be perfect, but it was about the conversation.
then this new movie comes out and it is washed over in the veneer of white hollywood feminism so thick you can't see anymore. the problematic aspects of the original movie are taken out to avoid "offending" when the offense was the point. it becomes toothless, it becomes some other thing entirely. they changed karen's line "i expect to run the world in shoes i cannot walk in" to "watch me as i run the world in shoes i cannot walk in." because choice feminism is in vogue, suddenly this character whose entire point is that she doesn't think deeply about WHY she does anything is suddenly hip to the fact that the world is against her.
i think of sokka losing his misogyny arc in the new atla. i think of the Heathers remake casting the bitchy, identical heathers as queer and hollywood-fat outcasts. as if the story, the meaning, the allegory is hidden in the sets and the jokes and the music. it's a whole new thing now, and it's a thing that means nothing in particular.
the plastics should not wear jeans. they should not have curves. their queerness should be suppressed, painful. their sexuality is not a slay, it's the only thing they think they have of value. the santa dance isn't sexy, it's shocking, it's mortifying - they are children.
they're not mean because "we are all mean." they are mean because they are girls in a world that brutalizes them and crushes them into a standardized shape. they are mean because the world is mean to them. they are mean because it gives them some power back. they are mean because it's the only weapon they have.
the landscape of femininity today has shifted to camera-ready makeup at the age of 10, stringent performative hygiene standards, and avoiding being caught on film while having a genuine emotion. the consumerism, the fatphobia, the racism, the classism, the homophobia remain. We could have had a conversation about that.
