GF - Shards of Glass 2/2

After over thirty years, Ma is getting paid a visit, all thanks to the persuasion of a sweater-making, pig-loving teenager. (Here’s part 2, as promised. Hope it lives up to everyone’s expectations!)

Despite it being over forty years since he had been home, Stan found it so easy and so familiar as he walked down the sidewalks with his family that he could probably travel blindfolded. So many times he and Ford had walked down this way for home from the beach, just in time for dinner.

It was sad how much anxiety Stan was having over visiting his own mother, how badly his stomach was turning; he attempted to distract himself by observing his childhood home. The buildings hadn't changed much, except for the interiors. Almost every business that was here in his youth was either replaced or drastically renovated. Except for the Belgian Waffle Store, that place was bustling with people eating a late-breakfast or an early-lunch.

And there it was. Sandwiched between the waffle joint and a new shoe store was the old pawn shop that had been transformed into a comic book store. Mabel grinned and rushed up to the windows, pressing her face against it to get a good look at the displayed comics. "Wow! You should feel right at home, huh Grunkle Stan?"

He snorted a quick laugh. "Bet this place'll make more money now than it ever did for our old man."

Mabel entered with Dipper by his side. The old men lingered but eventually wandered inside. Ford was gently reminded of a comfortable library. Where Pa's shelves of expensive products used to be now had beanbags and a coffee table in its place. A desk stood where his desk once stood, now hosting a young lady with brown hair in a ponytail and she smiled. "Hi! Finding everything okay?"

Mabel hopped on over while Dipper stalled, intrigued by a science-fiction comic book he had heard of but never read. "Hi! I'm Mabel! Is Caryn Pines here?"

The young lady grinned and nodded. "Oh yeah! She's home, just go up these stairs here and knock. Sweet lady, let me and Lindsey room with her for cheaper rent, she's the best roommate anyone could ask for. Friends of her?"

"You could say that," Dipper said easily and started for the stairs, the ones that led to the door for the living room. "C'mon."

Mabel and Dipper entered the closed-in stairwell with the grunkles behind them, halfway through, Ford stopped them. "Wait, kids, maybe… maybe you should say hi to her first."

Mabel turned and gave him a warning look with her hands on her hips. "You're not gonna run away, are you?"

"No, that's not what I had in mind." Ford said, though it didn't sound like a bad idea. "This is a lot to take in, so… maybe we should do this gradually."

Stan nodded. "Yeah, let her say hi to your kids first, okay?"

Dipper and Mabel exchanged looks and then nodded, agreeing that this was a good idea. Mabel then hurried to the door and knocked cheerfully.

"C'min."

Mabel opened the door and grinned at the sight before her. Sitting at her window, though her glowing pink eye long gone, Ma Pines sat with her ankles crossed and some knitting in her hands, still in white heels, but now sporting a red skirt with a white sweater and her long hair, now silver-white, was still up in her bun and she could never say no to her golden earrings and bracelets. Her eyes were just as keen as ever and she held herself up with that same confidence she always had. At the sight of her great-grandchildren, she smiled calmly and said spookily as she sat her knitting aside, "Ah, I've been expectin' choo two."

Mabel gasped with shining eyes. "Really?!"

Ma laughed and waved her little fib away. "Nah, that's just something I used to tell customers." No longer playing pretend, she grinned and opened her arms, "Now c'mere and hug this old lady!"

Mabel had never seen such a beautiful smile. She ran into her arms and hugged her tightly. She smelled like an old lady, maybe too much perfume with a hint of freshly baked bread and… vapor rub? Some sort of lotion? Whatever. Dipper soon joined the hug and Ma's thin arms hugged them tightly. The twins wondered if she would ever let them go, but soon she held them by the shoulders to look at them.

"Look at choo." Ma awed. "Just look at choo… You're both so beautiful. You're both almost adults. Holy Moses, who gave choo two permission to grow up?"

Mabel giggled and squeezed her hand. "It's so good to see you, Ma! We've really missed you!"

"I've missed you, too. Your father doesn't brin' choo down here nearly enough. Speakin' of which, where is Alex? Browsin' the store?"

Dipper rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Actually, he's still in California with Mom."

"We came here with someone else," Mabel said open-ended.

The older pair of twins, who were listening at the door, exchanged petrified looks, but they knew they couldn't leave their mother waiting any longer. Ford opened the door and they both stepped in silently to allow Ma to react as she saw fit.

Stan pulled off his beanie and held it with both hands while Ford pocketed his hands in his jacket. The old scientist swallowed and looked down at the carpeted floor. His twin did the opposite, his eyes locked on his mother as he took in her appearance and how she had changed. At the same time, she was staring at her sons with a hard expression on her face, both stern and difficult to read.

Ford took in a deep breath and muttered, "Hello, Ma."

Stan cracked a nervous smile and quipped, "You look good." And then he mentally kicked himself. What the hell was that?!

Ma stood and Dipper and Mabel moved aside. Everyone in the room was nervous, except for the old lady, who had a collective atmosphere to her that terrified everyone even more, unsure of how long it would last. When she was only a step or two away from her grown children, Ma said quietly, "So, choo finally decided to come clean?"

The men whose father named them both Stan stared at her in astoundment. "What?" They both gasped.

"Stanley, sweetheart," Ma sighed with a smile and she shook her head. "Choo might pull a great impression of your brother, but I know choo better than that. Even as kids I could always tell the difference. Always." She bit her lip as her eyes filled with tears. "Now, do I get to hug my sons or not?" She croaked with open arms.

Stan's bottom lip trembled and Ford just stared as he realized just how wonderful his mother truly was, and then both grown men quickly embraced her and held her tightly.

"We're so sorry."

"Please forgive us."

"We're so sorry."

"Please forgive us."

"Choo darlin' idiots," Ma said and squeezed them back tightly, as each face was buried in her shoulder and everyone's breathing was much more controlled now. "It's okay."

"Ma, I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry."

"Stanley…"

"No, I mean it. I should've…"

"I should have done more when I had the chance…"

"Stanford…"

"We're so sorry."

"Please forgive us."

"Hey, hey," Ma was now rubbing circles into their backs. "It's alright. It's alright. I always knew and already forgave choo."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Stan asked.

"I knew choo had your reasons." Ma replied calmly. "I trust my little free spirit."

They heard a sniff come from behind Ma and they all looked at the teenagers to find Mabel scrubbing her eyes with a fist and Dipper rolling his eyes at his sister with a small smile.

"Sweetheart, you're not cryin', are you?" Ma asked lightly.

Mabel shook her head. "N-No…" Her smile unwavering through her white lie.

Ma chuckled and let her boys go. "Well, you two owe me an explanation, and I got a feelin' it's gonna take a while. How 'bout some tea and cookies?"

"Yes, please." Mabel said and followed her great-grandmother into the kitchen to help.

It was like when Ford first came out of the portal all over again. Except this time they were in the warm sunshine, but the cold basement. Except this time they sipped on hot tea and nibbled on old gingersnaps. Except they began the storytelling from when Ford sent the postcard and skipped to when Dipper and Mabel first arrived in Gravity Falls. Except this story had a much happier ending. And the four visiting Pines silently agreed to keep Bill Cipher in the dark and they made it sound like at the end of the summer Ford and Stan rekindled their relationship on their own without needing a mind-wipe to do it.

By the time the sun was setting on the buildings, Ma was wearing Mabel's new purple sweater and she was nodding and satisfied with the tale. Really, when her sons gave it some thought, it was ridiculous to think they could pull the wool over the eyes of not only one of the greatest conmen they have ever known, but their own mother.

Now it was time for Ma to have some fun. When filling her in was over, Mabel gleefully requested, "Tell us embarrassing stuff about our grunkles!"

Ma laughed and stood. "Hold that thought, sweetheart. I have something you'll like…" She went to a bookshelf and pulled out an old black photo album. She opened it and sat next to Mabel, lying the book on her lap. Mabel gasped and grinned to find two newborn babies lying in a crib and sleeping together, wrapped burrito-style in blankets and they had little hats to keep their heads warm.

"AW!"

"Yup, that's when we brought the boys home." Ma laughed as Dipper looked down at the pair of twins in the black-and-white picture. "Choo know, Stanford was born first, but the whole time he was without Stanley he cried his whittle heart out…"

"Ma!"

"What, it's true."

"Since when do you love the truth so much?" Ford asked cheekily and smiled at her playfully.

"Alright, mister, let's see how your niece likes this picture…"

"SAILOR SUITS!" Mabel screamed and her eyes grew to the size of saucers. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, OH MY GOSH! You guys were so cute!"

"Oh, this is them getting a bath…"

"MA!"

After half an hour of embarrassing her sons without mercy, Ma gave Mabel the scrapbook only asking that her great-granddaughter take good care of it and use it to blackmail her sons. It was time for the sailors to return to the boat, so she stood at the back door in the neatly-kept alleyway and hugged the kids goodbye. She snuck in a kiss on each of their cheeks before looking at her sons.

Immediately her expression turned cold and she growled, "And if any of choo knuckleheads pull a stunt like that again…"

It didn't matter that the twins were in their sixties; they were just as terrified now as they were in their youth. They nodded in sync and Stan said, "I swear, Ma. And… we'll do a better job staying in touch. I promise."

Ford nodded in agreement and Ma's expression immediately softened. "That's all I want." She said with a smile. "A phone call every so often is all I ask for."

Ford nodded and smiled. "We'll call you. We love you."

"I love you two, babies, c'mere." With one last squeeze and a swift kiss on each of their cheeks, Ford and Stan finally found the strength to let her go.

As they walked down the sidewalk and headed for home, the two pairs of twins looked back and found Ma still standing there and waving them goodbye. They waved in return and turned around for their next adventure.

i cant get the idea of a stressed tsukki hunching over on his bed with his head in his hands looking down and his gf just coming up from behind him and wrapping her arms around him and kissing his the back of his shoulders just a scenario with tsukki not being a salty shit and for once genuinely showing himself being upset and his s/o comforting him or cheering him up being an absolute goofball which is her normal persona

I did my best trying to work with an upset Tsukishima and a goofy significant other. It ended up extremely difficult to picture him being vocal and very visibly upset whilst she’s cracking jokes and everything, so I attempted to reach a happy medium. I hope it’s still faithful enough to what you wanted, and I hope you enjoy.

His mother lets her into the house first.Their walls are well built, but the ceilings were hollow enough for sounds topass in and out freely and Tsukishima can catch every footstep that padsagainst their waxed floors. He doesn’t hear much exchanged between themdownstairs; perhaps a nod, or an understanding expression that he can picturewithout much effort.

He considers berating his mother for doingsomething unnecessary again—he wasn’t old enough to pay taxes, but he mostcertainly was capable of recruiting his own emotional support brigade on his own, thank you very much—but he recallsthe worried twist to her lips when he’d returned home after practice withobvious strain in his voice.

Tsukishima wasn’t going to kid anyone. Hewas fully aware that he was a terrible son most of the time, and a terriblebrother. He only wishes that he could be not-so-terrible a lover, if that wasthe only thing he was to accomplish. But she walks up to his door, socked feetplanted carefully on the opposite side of his room and taps her knucklesagainst it.

“Kei?” Her voice wafts in, muffled by thethick carpet that fills in the bulk of his bedroom. “Can I come in?”

“Yeah,” he says, trying hard not toventure into the realms of bitterness quite yet. She’s never had to ask toenter his room, what with her propensity to barge in as often as possible to scarehim for the shits and giggles. A strong friendship between her and his motherdidn’t help his case at all.

That may be the reason why he swallowsdryly after his answer. The realization that this time she may turn around andleave him alone if he really had said no was not a welcome one, and it ringsunfamiliar bells in his head that he’d rather not face.

She slides the door shut behind her assilently as possible. It closes with a gentle click, and he counts the momentsshe requires to gather her breath and make her way towards him.

He breaks his blank stare at the oppositewall long enough to peer at her out from the corner of his eye. She’s a fuzzyblur without his glasses on, but he still watches with bland fascination as sheperches on the edge of his mattress as if discovering her manners for the firsttime in her life.

Tsukishima looks away. That was too harsh,even for his fickle conscience.

“I suppose my mother asked you to comeover,” he says instead.

She works her mouth for the right thingsto say, to her credit. “No, but you do usually send me a few texts afterpractice. Radio silence is… unusual.”

“Keeping tabs?” He asks, and damn, the nobitterness rule was supposed to last longer than five minutes.

“No, I don’t. It was just a feeling.”

He turns fully to look at her then, eyesstill slanted and his jaw uncomfortably tight against something unidentifiablethat attempts to claw its way up his throat. “I see. Well, how can I help?”

“I was…” He watches her struggle, her eyesflickering behind the wall of control that she’s likely learned from him. He’dalways made comments about how she’s so different from him that it’s a miraclethey’re together, but he sees now, past the veil of self-satisfaction, thatit’s not a look that suits her.

“…What?” He says, a little less unkindlythan before. “Hoping you could help me?”

“Yes.” She raises her eyes to meet his,squarely. “That’s the gist of it.”

He snorts lightly. “Well, thank god yourpsychic powers of observation sent you here. God knows what would happen to meif you hadn’t.”

Saying nothing, she continues to stare athim as if he was an ancient inscription, waiting to be unlocked by the powersof determination.

Frankly, it makes him squirm. Tsukishimasuspects it’s why she’s doing it.

“Sorry,” he finally mumbles.

He spies a small, relieved hint of smilethat tickles the corner of her lips.

“It’s alright,” she says. “I’ve beenaround you enough to know what you’re like.”

“And what exactly am I like, then?” He asksstiffly.

He almost shrinks back when she suddenlyreaches up for his face. Resting a thumb on the furrow between his brows, shepresses down and rubs at it until the tension from his temples are forciblydrained. He considers telling her that she’s cheating, but nothing comes outwhilst she’s still touching him.

“Prickly.” She shifts closer ever soslightly, so that her voice can soften. “Defensive when you think someone’strying to pry something out of you. Offensivewhen you think someone’s trying to map you out.” She huffs a small laugh whenhe scowls again. “An extremely grumpy man who’s not saying no to a massage evenwhen he’s pissed off.”

“Like you would stop if I told you to?”

“Maybe,” she answers, smirking. “If youask nicely.”

“Yes, because I do that so very often.”

“You should, you know.” He misses hersoothing rub very briefly when she lets her hand fall back onto her lap. “It’sgood for your non-existent social skills.”

“And you’re not doing a very good job ofcomforting me, if that’s what you’re here for.”

“Are you letting me?” She laughs, moreloudly this time. It does escape him sometimes, how she could literally laughat everything in the face. She could face a pit viper and she’d do the tangoaround it if it could cheer somebody up. “But you’re not wrong,” she says.“I’ll try harder.”

He feels an urge to tell her that shedoesn’t need to, but at the same time he knew it wouldn’t put her off. And itwouldn’t be true, either.

He can’t understand how she can look athim with such an open expression. As if she’s not aware that he could saysomething particularly venomous because he could, and it would break something.

“Kei,” she says gently, “will you talk tome?”

Well, he couldn’t very well tell her to goaway. But he wasn’t sure—could he even really match her openness? Even withnobody else in the room and an entire evening to himself, he hadn’t been ableto say a single word at his wall.

“Kei?”

Tsukishima groans, and turning away fromher, dumps his head into his hands. “No.”

“Stress?”

“No.” There’s a baited silence, and heexhales raggedly. “…Yes.”

Behind him, she hums lowly in sympathy butdoesn’t say anything else. He sucks in a deep breath.

“School. Grades.”

“Mhmm.”

“Volleyball. People.” He reconsiders.“Mostly volleyball.”

“I could hit someone for you. All you haveto do is give me names. There’s no much I can do against a ball, though.”

“God,” he groans again, “really?”

“Tsukishima Kei,” she says very seriously.“I would punch someone in the face for you.”

She’s half about to laugh, he can tell.She’s not someone who can stay serious for very long. “Would you get expelledfor me?” He asks, rolling his eyes behind his hands. “And then get a job at aconvenience store because you’ve missed out on graduating? And then get marriedand washed-up and resent your child for holding you back in life and my, how could you have been so careless,punching your chances in the face during high school?”

“Maybe,” she says, “you’ve missed yourcalling as a soap opera script writer. I swear that’s a show somewhere.”

“I wouldn’t know. I don’t join in mymother for TV after dinner.”

“Too busy stressing, probably.”

“Hey—”

“Sorry, sorry.” He watches her shadow liftits hands up in surrender. “Jumping back into serious business.”

“You really are shit at this.”

“I must be, considering you haven’t turnedaround to look at me yet.”

If he rolled his eyes any harder, and anymore, they’d probably be stuck to the roof of his head and he’d have to walkaround looking perpetually unimpressed with the world. And it’d all be herfault.

He hears her shuffle closer. “I didn’tmean that, really,” she murmurs at his back. “You don’t have to turn around ifyou don’t want to.”

And Tsukishima really didn’t. His face,although muffled and slightly suffocated from the pressure of his hands, feelscomfortable turned away from the world. It was warm, safe, and he didn’t haveto open his eyes and watch the minutes tick by as his nerves ran circles aroundhis mind until his body’s completely frozen and fraying at the edges.

He wants to close his eyes and breathe aserratically as he wants without having to care about how he sounds like toanyone else. He’s got enough trouble trying to stay sane without being requiredto prove it to someone else too.

The truth was, he expected more fromhimself. This was not breakdown worthy, as if he was some special case. As ifhe had it harder than any other student.

When he suddenly feels arms pressingagainst his sides, he almost jerks to his feet. For a moment Tsukishima ishorrified at the thought that maybe he’d just said all that out loud, as ifhe’d just signed up for therapy or some other activity that he’d rather becaught dead than doing. He holds his breath, waiting for something to happen,but she only presses closer, wrapping them around his hunched shoulders. He canfeel the rise and fall of her chest against his back, and her fingers tuckedtenderly underneath his collarbones.

He’s strung too tautly to manage to askher what she hopes to achieve by doing this, and neither does she give him thetime. She must have felt his breath hitch, for she buries her face into thecrook of his neck and squeezes him tightly.

“I’m probably making you sweat,” she saysafter a good five minutes of sitting there silently, both pressed against eachother. Tsukishima can’t help the shiver as her lips graze his skin. “But Ithink it’s working.”

“What’s working?” He says faintly.

“Calming you down.” Her arms slide downhis sides at an aching pace until they rest snugly around his waist. There’s ashuffle behind him and she repositions herself with her legs crossed instead ofon her knees. “Your breathing’s a lot steadier now.”

About ten different responses rise to histongue, but she rubs her cheek against his shoulder blade, and he swallows themdown.

“I’m… I—urgh,” says Tsukishima, veryeloquently. She huffs into his neck, and he can feel her faint smile againsthis heated skin. “Not good at this.”

“You don’t have to tell me all of it ifyou don’t want to,” she murmurs.

“I thought you wanted to know.”

She shrugs against him. “Only if it helps.There’s no need for it to be now, if it makes you feel worse. I mean, I couldalways gather it later in the form of handwritten letters or poems in my shoelocker or something.”

“Jesus,” Tsukishima laughs thickly. “I’msupposed to be upset here. Stopmaking me laugh.”

“Laughing can either make or break you,”she says, smiling. “Which one will it be?”

“It’s incredible how much you have my bestinterests in mind.”

Tsukishima finds himself holding hisbreath when she doesn’t respond immediately.

“I hope I do,” she says finally, her voicesolemn. “Tell me if it doesn’t seem that way.”

He lifts his head and heaves a labouredsigh. He covers her white-knuckled fingers with his own—no longer afraid of howrough his blisters may feel to her—and pulls her firmly into his back. It knocksthe air out of her with a soft ‘oomph’.

“It does,” he says, feeling ratherdrained. “Don’t worry.”

She attempts to say something in reply,but Tsukishima’s fingers are still gripped tightly around hers and whatever shedoes say is lost into his shirt. He smiles wryly.

“Are you expected home anytime soon?”

She shakes her head into his back.

“Alright.” He shifts so that she’s restedmore comfortably against him and gathers his breath.

“I’ll start from last week.”

In-depth Reflection on Kingsman: The Golden Circle (Spoilers)

FUCKING SPECTACULAR, EH!

After so much waiting, watching new promos and trailers everyday, I watched Kingsman: The Golden Circle today! The sequel to my favorite movie of all time! And BOY, I have so many thoughts. I am going to try to go as in-depth as I can, and as much in order as I can but BEWARE this is nearly a shit post with me pouring all of my feelings into it and will have random points all over the place, but mainly is me trying to process everything, this is A LOT (it’s 3k) and basically a summary of the movie

SPOILER ALERT!!! OBVIOUSLY LOL okAY LET’S GO

They started off the fucking MOVIE with Take me Home, Country Roads on a bagpipe FUCK

FUCK YEAH EGGSY UNWIN! GARY UNWIN! MY MAN! MY DUDE! MY SON! YOU LOOK SO FINE IN THAT SUIT, YOU LOOK JUST LIKE YOUR DECEASED HUSBAND shit too soon

IT HASN’T EVEN BEEN A MINUTE CHARLIE GET THE FUCK OUT IDC HOW YOU SURVIVED GO AWAY also ALL THESE CARS OH FUCK IS THIS ALL POPPY! Anyways Yes yes yes EPIC drifting cab scene! Eggsy has grown so much yeah boy you kick his ass! I love this drifting cab scene, they built a custom cab that could drift how amazing is that! But oh nooo, ugh Charlie’s stupid arm made the poisonous blade kill the driver :(

Eggsy can hold his breath because he was training for the marines but also throwback to his training when he was the only one that was smart enough to see the two-way mirror! The police were like yOu wOt m8 @ Eggsy but iT’S OKAY there’s a secret Kingsman entrance under the lake! By the way HI MERLIN I LOVE YOU YOU SCOTTISH MAN but Eggsy you are a BRAVE man for jumping into shit! On a side not, the hand just hacked into Kingsman holy shite

HI TILDE agh prefer Eggsy with the love of his life, Harry Hart, but you DAMN brave for wanting to kiss a shit-covered Eggsy! Also HI JB YOU’VE GROWN SO MUCH! But wait, EGGSY MOVED INTO HARRY’S HOUSE! Just like the fanfics said! That makes me so happy

Cool transition from a bag of pot to Cambodia! Poppy is FUCKING CRAZY, actual psychopath, I mean cannibalistic burgers, delicious! Those dogs are cool, more realistic than other movies, but rip people who are put through the shredder! Ngl that burger looks pretty good

The fact that Eggsy has to hold back tears when simply thinking of Harry is so :( And he even asks Mr. Pickles, because he remembers Harry’s love for him. Eggsy Unwin was in love with Harry Hart, okay.

A Sprinkle of Salt

Anon requested: hey hi! could you do a youngbin scenario where their gf is really good friends with hwi young and chani, and he gets a little jealous

Sorry for the delay! I hope you enjoy this!

Summary: Youngbin may be kind and understanding but there’s only so much he can take.

Hanging out with the members of Sensational Feeling 9 was always a blast, although they would always grimace when you jokingly said the full name in English.

“It’s not funny,” Hwiyoung gave you a judging look.

“Yeah, that’s the name of our group. The group your boyfriend is in,” the team’s maknae stuck his tongue out at you.

“I was just joking around!” You frowned and put your fists up. “Fight me!”

Chani could only laugh and grab your hands before trapping you in a hug. “Can’t fight me if you can’t use your hands!”

“HEY!” You could only shout as you struggled from the boy’s anaconda-like hug. “YAH! LET ME GO!”

“Oh? You wanted to fight me, but can’t even escape my hug? I would’ve won then.”

After squirming until your right hand was free and pinching his side, you were free and glaring at the black-haired boy. “Do that again and I swear-!”

“We’re all friends here, no need to fight you two,” Hwiyoung declared as he came between the two of you and draped his arms around you and Chani’s shoulders. “Come on, let’s go back to the practice room. Our hyungs are probably worried sick.”

“From what? All we did was go get them some food from the convinience store.” Chani rolled his eyes. “Besides, they aren’t worried about us, they’re worried about Y/N. They’re probably thinking we drove her insane.”

Shoving the ‘99 liner’s arm off your shoulder, you turned to stick your tongue out at them. “You guys are driving me insane! I wouldn’t have to come with you if you didn’t make me lose that rock-paper-scissors game!”

“Oh?” The maknae suddenly pointed at you, “She is going insane. Insane enough to make false acusations of us cheating!”

“YAH! Your leader, my boyfriend, even told me you two did!”

“Ever think he was lying?” Hwiyoung put in.

Before you knew it, they were racing to get to the safety of the entertainment building (where the older members would try to protect the maknaes and calm you down).

“YAH! GET BACK HERE!” you yelled as you chased them down, them looking over their shoulders and laughing because you were so far from them.

You slowed to a stop as you heard your phone ring and answered your phone. “Yes?” you said, trying to hide your hard breathing.

“Where are you guys? Are you okay? They didn’t ditch you did they?” the voice that made your heart flutter asked through the phone.

“We’re right outside, I’m okay, and they did ditch me. I think they’re already in front of the practice room,” you sighed as you entered the building. “I’m in the building now, I’ll see you in a bit.”

“Okay… Hurry, I miss you.”

You could only laugh as you answered, “I’ll be right up, no need to be over-dramatic.”

“I’m not being over-dramatic, it’s the truth.” That answer made your face red as you bowed to the lady at the front desk.

“You’re way too honest…” you sighed as you entered the elevator.

“My seniors taught me to be this way. Are you here yet? Not being able to see your face but able to hear your voice makes my heart hurt.”

“You’re so cliché!”

He laughed through the phone as the elevator let out a ‘ding’ to indicate your stop. The practice room door was open to let the air out but you scrunched your nose at the smell of the combined 9 boys testosterone.

“Hang up now!” you laughed when your boyfriend’s face immediately lit up at the sight of you and hung up. He got up from his spot on one of their chairs and headed towards you, arms wide open and ready to give you a hug. However, 6 other boys saw the plastic bags you carried in your other hand and immediately surrounded you.

While they fought over the food in the bag and obscured your view of your boyfriend, you could hear him slightly scolding the maknaes about ditching you.

‘Good. They deserve that,’ you thought as you smiled to yourself before swatting the boy’s hands away. “Yah, sit down and I’ll give you guys your food. Seriously, you guys act like this all the time…”

After all 9 boys had seated themselves in their circle, you handed them their requested food. They immediately said their thanks and started digging in before you could even start to go to your spot and sit.

You sat between the eldest members, Inseong on your left and Youngbin on your right. As you started to eat what you had bought yourself, you felt the boy on your right shift closer to you. Your cheeks warmed as the leader wrapped his arms around you and gave a light peck on your cheek.

“Great, now I lost my appetite,” Hwiyoung said, passing his food over to Chani, who shook his head and pointed to Dawon.

Chani had followed after him and pushed his plate to the 95 liner as well. “Same. I can’t believe they would do this kind of stuff while we’re trying to eat…” he said as he and Hwiyoung got up.

In anger, you grabbed the nearest thing and chucked it at them.

Inseong yelled, “Hey! My chopsticks!” But it was too late. One stick hit Hwiyoung’s arm and the other hit Chani in the back.

They both turned around and stuck their tongue out at you.

“WHY YOU-!”

The other 7 boys immediately forgot about their lunches.

“Then you’re playing the game wrong!” you said, pushing a finger into Hwiyoung’s chest. “Do you even watch gameplays?”

He laughed and pinched your cheek, making you frown and swat him away. “It’s more fun when everything is unexpected.”

“Well, that’s why you always lose.”

“Oh, I don’t always lose. I won every time I played against Chani.”

“Hey!”

You laughed as you watched them argue again. The boys had finished their practice a while ago, but the vocal line went into their respective studios for vocal practice while Zuho went to finish writing raps for their upcoming songs. The dance practice room was left with just the maknaes, you, and your boyfriend. You glanced over at the leader, who was sat on the floor on the opposite wall of you. A frown settled on your face as you saw his expression.

Youngbin was frowning. That certainly wasn’t a good sign. He wasn’t one to get upset, even after Dawon did something as idiotic as almost expose your relationship with the leader on live broadcast. He was kind and understanding but then again, there’s only so much he can take.

“What’s wrong?” You sat next to him and his frown grew deeper. “What’s with the grumpy face, Mr. Grumpy Face?”

“It’s Sir Grumpy Face,” he grumbled, still able to make lame jokes even in a bad mood.

“Okay, Sir Grumpy Face. Why do you look so down? Did Dawon do something stupid again? I can beat him up for you, if you want.”

“No, it’s the maknaes.”

“Chani, Hwiyoung, and Tae? What did they do? Eat a lot of chicken?” you joked, but your laugh diminished as you saw how serious he was being. “Or is it just Chani and Hwiyoung? What did those two do?”

“They just look so happy…” he trailed off, not looking at you.

Okay, now you were seriously confused. “Um… Is that a bad thing? Should they be sad?”

“No, but you seem happy too. With them. You guys look happy together," he finally said, leaning his head against the wall and closing his eyes. “I know that sounds stupid and that I shouldn’t be jealous because they were your friends before you and I started dating but I still can’t shake this feeling…”

“You’re jealous?” you couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh my, you’re seriously jealous?”

He groaned, hiding his red face with his hands. “I know it’s stupid.”

“Youngbin,” you said, pulling his hands away from covering his handsome looks and searching his face. “Please look at me…”

Hesitantly, he turned to look at you with sad eyes.

You sighed and squeezed his hands with your own, giving him a small smile. “Chani and Youngbin are my friends. They’re your members. They’re both like our sons, honestly. You know how Tablo has Haru? That’s how I see my relationship with them. There’s nothing more to it.”

“I wouldn’t want them to be our sons, honestly. They ditched you, how could they do that to their own mother?” he said in mock anger, making you laugh.

You released his left hand to rest your hand on his left cheek. “I never really say this much, and it might be the reason you felt like this but, I love you.”

At those three words, his eyes widened and his mouth dropped. “Really? You’re sure?”

You rolled your eyes. “If I wasn’t sure, I wouldn’t have said it.

He leaned over to squeeze you into a hug, burying his nose into your neck. “I love you too. I love you so much.”

“You’re not jealous any more right?”

“How could I be when you just told me that you love me?” he pulled away and searched your face.

You looked at him, confused. “What?”

He smiled and leaned forward to press his lips against yours. His fingers resting on your back drawing circles that made you sigh and lean forward for more. He pulled you forward and you felt like you were melting into his as you two grew closer. You wanted the moment to last forever, however, certain maknaes know just exactly what to say to get on your nerves.

“Are they gonna keep doing pda until I lose sleep from nightmares?” the voice said, making you pull away and glare at whoever spoke.

Youngbin laughed as he watched Chani run out from the room, you right at his tail.

Ok guys so I owe you all an apology! I have been so off with my updating lately and I am SO sorry about that! I will be caught up by Friday, I promise. That said I will point out one thing that changed with the queue. I had a Connor Brown playoff beard imagine for both today and 6/8, but I only had one request for it.
