Clivia: Dad said if I don’t get my grades up, he’s not gonna let me get my tetanus shot next year.
Septima: That sucks. What are you gonna do?
Clivia: Fuckin’ study, I guess.

Lord Tharn, if you feel comfortable answering my question, what was Clivia like as a child? Do you have any particular memories you're comfortable with sharing?
Clivia was a model child, I tell you. Envy of the nation.
Beat Euraxia in chess every time, too. It was sort of cute, little Euraxia throwing herself into this rivalry with the verve of a six years old in frills and lace, and Clivia having absolutely no clue, because Euraxia managed to be a minor inconvenience at worst.
And she mastered the One Poisoned Chalice Shuffle when she was 10. I was so proud! Don’t tell her that, though.

And it is wonderful to see you again as well, Clivia, my friend! While I have missed this admittedly odd and occasionally stressful mode of communication, I must say I believe stepping away for some time has done me well. Resting the mind now and then is just as important as strengthening it, is it not?
I do hope you and yours have been well in the meantime.

Is there another Tharn you'd like or know enough about to write aside from Abnur?
i could, in theory, write clivia. but i can't steal that from her great magnificence, can I now? i believe that i'd also make plausible magna, given that she has like 0 lore.
i don't see a reason to write another tharn besides high chancellor absolute bastard and an oc here and there to fill in the gaps of lore.

What do you think of the Tharn family?
It depends on what branch or era you're talking about.
If you happen to be talking about the modern-day Tharn family @aloysius-tharn @haarfindelwe, it's certainly not what it was but it does have good people in it.
As for the second era @the-tharns-speak, Clivia is ruthlessly ambitious, and in my opinion, an Empress to be proud of. As for Abnur, I have deep respect and admiration for him. He went from high chancellor to hero.

The Ruby Damned
Which traitor is the more accursed, the traitor to their country, the traitor to humanity, or the traitor to their own soul?
When Molag Bal’s Dark Anchors fell upon the City Isle, we may have survived their assault, we may have broken their siege upon the city gates, and our returning legions may have repelled the daedric horde back to Oblivion… but for the traitors. An army can survive cowardly comrades and foolish leadership, let us never forget that it was the Empress Regent Clivia Tharn who first expelled the Mages Guild and gave the Worms free reign, but it cannot survive treason from within.
Legion Zero is a smear, a besmirch, a desecration of the Ruby Ranks. They sold their morality, and their comrades for what turned out to be nothing more then a false promise, and now they are but Shriven slaves. The Elven Gardens, once the residential district of the city, has been turned into their garrison from where they produce the siege weapons that have pounded the other districts into submission. Such traitors are hated even by those to whom they coo, and it is clear even here that they serve under the boots of the Xivkyn.
I meet a former Legionary engineer Quintia Rullus, herself once a traitor, a deserter to the fourth legion, yet she chose to stay within the city when she could have fled and now enlists others in her efforts to halt the city's destruction by Legion Zero's siege weaponry. She requests my help in burning their ballistae, and damaging their Great Forge.
They say that in life we are all just waiting for moments to redeem ourselves, and whilst Quintia Rullus was a traitor to her country, it is not this that defines her, it is the way she is making her amends. The Empress Regent Clivia Tharn was a traitor to humanity, yet rumour is rife in the sewers that she who sits atop the Ruby Throne may not be whom she seems, and the true fate of the Empress Regent may never be known. The Legion Zero are traitors to their own souls, for they are Shriven and belong now and forever more to Molag Bal. For those accursed traitors, there can be no redemption.

Daeris was unknowingly responsible for Clivia Tharn's replacement by the imposter Molag Kena during the Planemeld. Agents of Mannimarco had taken out a contract on the Empress-Regent at Mannimarco's instruction, and Daeris was assigned to it. The contract would have been refused if the Dark Brotherhood knew the true intentions behind it as a Daedric incursion would undoubtedly disrupt Brotherhood activity in the area, but the Black Hand was misled into believing that the contract was being taken out by insurgents who blamed Clivia for the disappearance of Varen Aquilarios and had no knowledge of what was to come next.
Daeris assassinated Clivia, but a day later, she and her superiors were shocked to find that that the Empress-Regent was still issuing orders to her command. They found out the truth of the matter when Sitha Abelas, the matron of Daeris's Sanctuary, confronted the Worm Cult agents who took out the contract and got them to confess to their duplicity. Nonetheless, Daeris had completed her contract and was promoted to Executioner for such a high-ranking kill, though the ensuing chaos that befell the Imperial City Sanctuary made her question if it was worth it.

Genetically speaking, we all inherit something from our parents (no matter how much we hate to admit it), either personality wise or in terms of physical appearance. Considering your ire for your father, what have you been told you inherited from him, and what did you get from your mother? And what would you say Clivia inherited from you and her mother?
As for my father, I had taken after him in the looks. I adopted the black into my wardrobe mostly because of that; he was always almost exclusively clad in white, that way people didn't confuse us. I have heard that I had inherited his great qualities. Nobody ever told me what those were, so maybe in that regard I am empty-handed. After my mother I am of blue eyes and burning hatred of prolonged exposure to masses of people. And also taste in wine.
Clivia is, the Eight be praised, taking more after Pulasia. She is a gentle soul, patient, has a taste for sweets, love for cats. Still, nature is only a part of a man (or in this case: a woman), and the nurture part is predominantly my doing. I lead her to be the Empress ever since she could walk, and damn well the Empress she is.
