I’m a huge fan of #Coraline! I’ve read the book and seen the movie. 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛 Saw this on @lefthandedcrocheter Facebook page....🙌🏻Amazing🙌🏻 I used my Ava doll pattern (link➡️ https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ava-the-razzle-dazzle-doll) and made my daughter a Coraline doll to go with her cosplay. #crochet #cozplay https://www.instagram.com/p/CnLhUDhr61_/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I made a sports bra today!!!
It's rough and made from scraps so you don't get to see it BUT It worked and is super comfy. I needed a white one and can't for the life of me find one that's completely white, in my size and affordable so I made it uwu
I followed this video! They have a free pattern (with optional donation)
youtube
I didn't have the special elastic they use so I used regular elastic and just didn't fold it and it works fine. Also I added an extra layer of lining because it was a little too thin for my liking and now it doesn't even need pads, I also added elastic around the hem of the bra.

I hadn't seen a cosplay competition in probably close to 10 years, and I watched both the lesser competition (Cozplay Comp) and greater competition (Championship of Cosplay) at Syd OZCC over the weekend and I feel so inspired!
The level of craftsmanship and care and DETAILS in the Championship of Cosplay especially was INSANE. Me and friend in the audience were going "what the fuck :O" in amazement like five times per entrant as the costume details were read out
The Championship is definitely waaay above my level as a cosplay noob lol. Maybe I'll get there some day. Cosplay seems like a creative hobby I'll stick with longer than some of my other ones purely with how much community there is. Didn't make new friends through the diorama crafts for example, but sure have after only three months of wearing cosplay! (would like to get back to the dioramas at some point tho...)
Screen accuracy seems less important in Australian contests than I thought, since the NSW state cosplay champion did a somewhat original designed version of a character. As long as your craftmanship is exceptional and your design decisions are all in-line with and make sense for the character it seems perfectly acceptable. With that flexibility in mind, I have a vague idea I could look into designing and making in a few years.........
Ok. Convention season is over. I am absolutely exhausted after this weekend and genuinely feeling unwell today to the point of having to call in sick for work. Will go through my photos and share some at some point this week. Tempted to try photoshopping a desert into the background of one of my TriStamp Vash photos....
Will need to do a little bit of repairs on some of my cosplay pieces at some point, but otherwise I am now in rest mode for the next month. Once November hits I'll start gathering references and working on my TriMax Vash cosplay 💪

Dude how did you make your sun and moon masks!!!!!?
I'm trying to figure out how to make my own for comicon in feb... I've never made a cozplay before
Please help o.o
Hi! I made them with:
Poster board
EVA foam
1in thick elastic
Paint that's good for foam
Marker
Gorilla glue
Hot Glue
Box cutter
Dremel
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I drew a templet on paper first then traced that onto the foam and poster board. Next, I cut out all the pieces with a box cutter and glued them together with gorilla glue. After the glue set, I used a dremel to clean up the edges of the foam and make it nice. Then I painted everything, drew on details with a marker, and finally, hot glued a piece of elastic to the back of the masks.
Notes: EVA foam is expensive, and I don't think it's necessary for this project. I only used it because I had extra sitting in my closet. I'm sure you can make a beautiful mask with just poster board, cardboard, styrofoam, whatever. But if you do use EVA foam and want the paint to turn out the best, spray the foam with primer before you paint. Then after the piece is painted, spray it with sealer. (Look up how to seal foam properly for more details.) I didn't do this because I was short on time and these masks were only meant for one night of cosplay. Also, a dremel is not a tool everyone has just casually laying around, so ignore that step if you have to. And lastly, the main drawbacks of these masks are that you can't see out of them, and they can get uncomfortable. They're extremely simple in design and functionality, but they're great if you only plan on putting them on for a few minutes at a time for pictures or meetups.
