The first film in a seven film franchise. A new film aired every year, from 2008 to 2014. (Good Witch 1.0) In 2015 the first season of the 'Good Witch' television show (Good Witch 2.0) premiered. The series ran for seven seasons totaling seventy episodes, and five films ending in 2021. For thirteen years the Hallmark Channel was in the 'Good Witch' business.

Synopsis:
A mysterious, yet charming woman, Casandra "Cassie" Nightingale, arrives in a small town, Middleton, and causes a stir when people think this raven-haired enchantress is an actual witch. She moves into the allegedly haunted Grey House, and opens the "Bell, Book and Candle" shop full of wondrous unique items. The town's moral committee, lead by the mayor's wife Martha Tinsdale, becomes convinced that she is evil and begins a campaign to drive her out of town. This causes much stress to the town sheriff, Jake Russel, a struggling widower who is slowly developing feelings for Cassie. As their relationship grows, Cassie helps the sheriff's children Brandon and Nancy, as well as several members of the community, face their problems and overcome personal obstacles. But is common sense or magic that's helping the townsfolk? And will they ever be able to accept her as one of their own?

I recently put a poll up for people to vote on their favorite original Good Witch movie for a Hallmark Movie Spotlight feature, and out of the seven this films the very first one got a hundred percent of the vote. So here you go.

@trantors darling THANK YOU for the tag now I get to run my mouth!
last song: Take A Chance On Me by ABBA. Because @prismatica-the-strange and I were conquering a fort in sea of thieves and nothing is more appropriate than ABBA for such a task.
last show: Mad Men. Because Lane Pryce massive babygirl
last film: All Quiet on the Western Front- it was important oscar viewing and I'm glad my dad and I did. It was quite the ride. The horrors of war truly. Doesn't beat out 1917 for me personally but I'm biased because I'm a tolkien nerd and that film captured the poetry that spawned from the men who lived through that better than anything else. Cool to see Daniel Bruhl speak german again tho (and I haven't lost all of mine, thank god)
current show: I'm doing Chernobyl again because the Valery Legasov brainrot this week has been literally so bad
currently reading: The Vampire Tapestry by Suzy McKee Charnas. And it's REAL good (I just finished the first part the other day and it's just??? damn dude. commentary. imagery.)
current obsession:... gee I wonder if you can guess. No but for real couldn't tell you how or why Jared Harris lust struck me out of nowhere just because Craig's TLOU started airing and my ass went "YO Chernobyl was good lets do that one again!" and I guess I was at a vulnerable enough place that the second I saw him again, after loving him and his performances in various things for YEARS, dude just set a fire under me this time. Couldn't have worse timing because I have literally so much to do during these last like 7 weeks I have in the semester (a creative project, a presentation, 3 10 page papers on top of weekly reading responses for 2 classes and screening notes) , but like... I haven't been this motivated to write in a long time nor have I done as much to accomplish actual writing and not just headcanons or little morsels of smut in like... years??? nor have I been this motivated to actually plot out a story so???? Thanks Jared Harris for giving me my groove back you a real one dude👍
no pressure tags: @jokerownsmysoul @roaming-thru-roses @prismatica-the-strange @your-mighty-words-astound-me

The Crown: filming for season 5 'shut down' by royal family | HELLO!
The Crown: Filming for season five 'shut down' by royal family
The royal family have been critical of the Netflix series in the past
Tina Brown, who has penned two books on the royal family, The Diana Chronicles and the upcoming ‌The Palace Papers has claimed that the Royal family is "very unhappy about this season moving forward" and so have made attempts to block filming of the Netflix wherever and whenever possible.
Whenever they can, they stop The Crown filming in locations where they have an influence," she told The AV Club. "For instance, [Eton College] refused to let them film there, which was undoubtedly about recognising William's feelings that, you know, they weren't going to have it. So they've shown their displeasure by making it quite clear that they are not happy, and we'll give it no help."
Elsewhere in the chat, Tina predicted that Prince Harry - who admitted during his famous interview with Oprah Winfrey last year that he has watched some of the Netflix show - is going to be particularly uncomfortable with the portrayal of his mother.
Filming for season five has been reportedly shut down by the royal family
“I don’t think that the next season of The Crown is going to be something that Harry is going to seriously approve of in the sense of the way it’s depicts his mothe,” she speculated. “We don’t know how it will depict his mother. But right now, there’s really nothing that’s come out about their mother that they like.”
The fifth and penultimate season of the show is currently being filmed across the UK and is set to dramatise many of the most talked about events in modern royal history, including the Queen's 'annus horribulus' as well as the dissolution of Prince Charles and Diana's marriage and Diana's tragic death in 1997.
It's set to arrive on Netflix in November 2022 and will see new actors take on the royal roles. Replacing Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II will be award-winning actress Imelda Staunton, while The Two Popes star Jonathan Pryce will take on the role of Prince Philip.
Meanwhile, after Emma Corrin's fantastic portrayal, Elizabeth Debicki will be her replacement to play an older Princess Diana, while Dominic West will play Prince Charles.
More recently, it was revealed that Cutting It star James Murray will be taking on the controversial role of Prince Andrew with actress Emma Laird Craig starring opposite him as Sarah, Duchess of York.

It's quite funny to me that all of Pierce Brosnan's Bond's villains were played by British actors, though all but Jonathan Pryce were playing characters of other nationalities.
Sean Bean - Raised in England but the child of Russians.
Jonathan Pryce - Only one to play his own nationality
Robert Carlyle - Russian
Toby Stephens - North Korean, given a lot of surgery to look British.
Similarly up until "No Time to Die" all of Daniel Craig's villains were played by European actors, largely playing their own nationality except Mads Mikkelsen who was playing a Belgian.
