Storyteller Saturday!

Howdy @inkpot-dreamer! Thanks for the ask and happy Saturday!

Gemma doesn’t mind the way she looks. Her mom once told her that she looks a lot like her dad, which is both comforting and a little bit sad (she doesn’t remember him at all). Her hair is kind of a pain sometimes (#CurlyHairStruggles) and she freckles even with her darker skin, but she likes the freckles. If she could change one thing, she might make herself a few inches taller.

Mel is all about appearance. Maybe not hers, but she does admire the aesthetic. I can’t say much that wouldn’t give a whole bunch of stuff away; however, I can say that she’s happy with the way she looks now, and the way she used to look (even if she’s self conscious that someone might find out what she used to look like and view her differently because of it).

Treena doesn’t care about her appearance much. Sure, she’s had to look “presentable” for her thesis/dissertation presentation/defense(s), interviews, fancy events, and such, but she prefers her casual clothes with scarves because scarves are the best and make any outfit better. Face-wise, she’s happy. She loves her nose and her eyes.

Oz does not give two rats’ asses about his face. If you ask him how he feels about his looks, or asked what he looked like, he’d say “normal, I guess.” He makes sure his uniform always looks nice, though. He does care about that. When he was a little younger he tried to improve his posture before giving up because it was a lot more work than he was expecting.

Mary is a little more “vain” than the others. She is careful about the way she presents herself to the world, and her eyeliner game is on point.

Jill is fabulous. She knows what she has and peacocks appropriately. Once, she spent a week learning different shading techniques for eyeshadow to make all the other girls at school jealous of her mad skillz. She’s long-since learned to embrace everything about herself.

Fred combs his hair every day and irons his pants. Mary taught him how to use cleanser and moisturizer so his skin stays nice and healthy. He maintains this regimen no matter what.

Harry used to be a lot more worried about her looks than she is now. She used to worry about how straight her hair was, her eyes, her nose, etc. It wasn’t until she began seeing people who looked like her being successful and happy that she started to like the way she looked. And now she makes sure Gemma never feels that way.
