IT'S THE DE3P CONDITIONING THANG!!! (Read because i ask a question) 👀 People with #curlyhair are said to deep condition their hair once a week. ONCE a week, we are supposed to dig around our kitchen and find olive oil, egg, and honey. Just kidding. No, you don't. Depending on the texture of your hair, where you live, how well your hair absorbs moisture naturally- you actually don't. Even #straighthair people can do deep conditioning to keep their hair long and healthy. Because we all know, just because your hair is straight- doesn't mean it always lands like that. I use @sheamoisture deep treatment to get my hair moisturized and feeling bouncy again. You can add #oliveoil of any kind to give your hair a little more moisture. Leave it for 30 minutes and wash (or rinse) and style as usual. Everyone is different. How do you deep condition your hair and what do you use? Extra points if you use #avocado #deepconditioning #sophiekindagirlythings #curlyhairchronicles #curlyhairlife #moisturizing #hairtype #sheamoisture https://www.instagram.com/p/B8J3m3MlVwS/?igshid=buo04hin5l7c

ONCE MORE WITH FEELING! Read this, please. I tried #igtv but instead of subjecting you to 3 minutes of awkwardly watching me fiddle with my hair, bad jump cuts, and me getting blocked for my choice in music - you get this. ●PRODUCTS: @sheamoisture cream smoothie and anti-frizz mousse @cantubeauty lock moisture gel. ●METHOD: hand twirls and sectioning! This trains your curls while also aiding in developing carpal tunnel. Separating your hair makes sure you get product in all your hair. A small price to pay for such savage curls. I like this method because my hair can air dry and still have cutey patootie ringlets. Also, sticky hands are a thing with all these products. Keep a towel near by. 😁 ●STORY TIEM: I've started the #curlygirlmethod in June and did the big chop in September after my best friends wedding. While my "big chop" was entirely unintentional, i have learned to work with what I got and my current triangle shaped cut to the best of my abilities - I've got it pretty much down. Why did I pick this products? Because I can find them anywhere and they're under 15 USdollars (I've seen some products cost up to 30 dollars. That's my gas cost). I sadly do not have the budget to DevaCurl my life. Thus affordability will always be my goal. COMMENTS! RECORDING TIPS! Random statements about monkeys or apes. All welcome. Stay tuned!! Here is a review from a personal friend who uses this product:
"I'd recommend the Whipped Goods Hair Butter to everyone. It's naturally made, smells delicious, and leaves your hair in great condition. I use it right after I wash and condition my hair to seal in my moisture. Once I have let my curls air dry, they become soft, bouncy and don't look parched what-so-ever. Even when I straighten my hair, the Hair Butter gives my strands a natural shine and controls frizz with just using a pea size amount daily. I can tell it's made my hair stronger, healthier and I get compliments on the transformation my hair has made since using it!" - Ora Lani
Hope you gals and lads find this product beneficial!
Enjoy experimenting!

SC

*****HAIR DAY!******* Hello #curlyhairlovers Here is my take on two #affordablehairproducts I've been using since June 2019. @cantubeauty is a product made for curly hair and some straight hair products. They have all kinds for kiddies and for adults and their stuff is heavy duty enough for those little wispy hairs that escape your gel. @sheamoisture is around the same price range and can be found in all the sames stores ( #walmart and #target to name two). They've got stuff for babies and stuff for adults with all kinds of hair. What I've found out is that some of the ingredients in Cantu actually dry out my hair and cause more frizz. This happens. Especially if you live in an already dry climate like I do. They do have fragrances and some alchohol in them and those do have a tendency to suck all moisture out of my hair. Shea Moisture has thus far given my hair LOTS of definition and until I get a few more inches and get a good haircut, I will have no volume. They have fragrances but these are just from the kind of ingredients. Also, one of the few "all natural products" that doesn't give me a horrendous allergic reaction. Same goes for Cantu. Both are good products for their price but be sure to read ingredients and get familiar with which one's work best for YOUR kind of hair. Not all alchohol is bad for your curly hair. Not all fragrances will give you damage. All hair gets frizzy and while we can all pretend that it's just our natural glow- we'd like to try and avoid it. Tell me what you think about these products if your used them or tell me a random fact about #koalabears . Until next time! #cantu #sheamoisture #hairproducts #affordability #sophiekindofgirlythings #curlyhairchronicles #curlygirlmethod #curlyhair #alcoholproducts #hairtextures #productreview https://www.instagram.com/p/B8zDgMElNeQ/?igshid=1r3ycu90e1i6

(Model: Stefcue)
Nothing is more essential like increasing blood flow within our scalp. We have fully supported the effort of massaging for blood flow. Doing so, benefits the hair follicles and it’s shaft by strengthening the two. Allowing less hair loss, and hair then being able to engage in speeding up the process of hair growth. Giving the scalp circulation nourishes each follicles by the blood flow. This, without a doubt, is a procedure you would want to practice on a daily basis if you’re trying to achieve maximum hair growth.
Aside from hair growth, massaging the scalp is also a good stress reliever. Stress comes and goes for many of us. With time, we learn to deal with tension in different ways. Some prefer a quick pain reliever and others may handle with a few minutes of rest. Stress may sometimes lead to body aches and/or head aches. Why not a quick 5 minute head massage to relieve some tension? This way, not only are you stimulating the scalp, temples and forehead, but you may also use a certain scalp oil (or create your own) that benefits the area you’re seeking to improve.
For example:
I have been loyal to a vinegar spray I created at home in the matter of seconds. The vinegar has helped drastically with my dandruff. Due to its process, I/we can create our own vinegar & olive oil scalp massaging oil. Therefore, we’re helping with conditioning, moisturizing and ridding ourselves of fungal infections.
Tumblr media
(Image provided by Google)
Now, lets experiment.
Heat a tablespoon of Olive Oil in a microwavable cup for 20-25 seconds Depending on how quick your microwave heats, If you would like to take caution, try 10 seconds at a time. Once it is warm to touch, you can check this by touching the bottom of the cup or touching the oil, mix in with the recipe “vinegar spray” linked above. You can choose whether you would like to include the spray bottle or not. All that is needed is your finger tips. Next, mix well and either dip finger tips in oil or spray area needed for tension release and dandruff care.
In any other case, there are oils that do come already prepared to buy and use at your nearest drug/beauty store. Heating can be optional. Heating is necessary for stimulating circulation. Your fingertips will provide warmth once grinding against the scalp, temples & forehead. It is as simple as rubbing your palms together to create warmth. You can pick and choose the ingredients to fix the problem you’re facing. Lastly, stimulation can be done with both dry and wet hair.
Remember to watch the circulation and intensity of your massage. Depending on how curly the hair may be, massaging can cause tangles. Hair does not have to be curly to practice scalp massaging.
And as my lovely partner StefCue would say-
“Enjoy experimenting!”

Lets talk Dandruff
Annoying, isn’t it? Constantly combing through your hair and noticing little flake like structures laid upon several strands. Yes, indeed it is annoying. Especially when you want to part your hair through a certain section that contains dandruff. Trust me ladies and gents, I too, suffer from this alarming fungal infection. But fear not! I have been experimenting with vinegar. And lately I’ve decided to play with it and create my own “at home vinegar hair rinse”.
It is just a few simple steps. All that is needed is a spray bottle, vinegar, ginger powder and thyme powder. Ginger and thyme you may ask?
Let me break it down for you;
Tumblr media
Ginger: Aside from helping to kill fungal infections like dandruff, Ginger is known to help cure many health issues such as preventing stomach gasses, nausea, diarrhea, inflammation of the stomach, inflammation due to menstruation and menstruation problems. It is also known to help with digestion. Ginger is an excellent source to help with the circulation of the blood flow. Therefore, making ginger an aphrodisiac. Due to helping with circulation, it benefits the scalp’s circulation as well. Good scalp circulation leads to what? You said it! Hair growth. A good massaged hair root can prevent hair loss. Why not add some ginger root to the root of the problem? See what I did there.
Tumblr media
Vinegar: Where to even start? Vinegar is used for all sorts of things like gardening, cleaning, cooking, disinfecting and washing. Known to be one of the many used items in your “cleaning list”, it is also a good fungal killer for nail fungus, foot fungus and scalp fungus. Say that 3 time, haha. Enough about fungus! Lets talk shiny hair. Vinegar, when massaged into hair, helps balance the pH of each hair strand. This leads to the locking of the hair cuticle. Promoting a much shinier and smoother surface.
Tumblr media
Thyme: Got some thyme on your hands? Enjoyed for it’s culinary uses, it is a very good scalp stimulant (if purchased as oil, Thyme Oil) and also decreases hair loss. Thyme takes the time to help out with congestion as well. It has been used fore many years to help fight respiratory infections. Guess what else thyme can do? Fight bacteria and scalp fungus! How many times can you say fungus in one post? Way too many.
Now let’s get to cooking!
Tumblr media
My personal at home dandruff (and I guess we can add hair growth stimulant) spray:
Strictly for scalp use, you will need the following:
1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar
A pinch of Thyme Powder
1/2 a teaspoon of Ginger Powder
1 spray bottle (purchased mine at Dollar General)
No water needed. Pour vinegar into bottle. Add the thyme then shake. Add ginger and shake. Part hair into sections and spray where you’re convinced that you have dandruff. Massage for 10 seconds. Repeat this step throughout entire scalp if desired. Once you have sprayed and massaged, wrap hair into a bun and let the solution sit for 30 minutes to and hour. Rinse and follow you normal shampoo and condition routine. Spray on scalp once a weak for 4 weeks. If dandruff has not fully cleared within that 4 week period, see a dermatologist for a much stronger treatment.
I sincerely hope this works for you as good as it did for me. I know that I know it will! May your hair roots & life remain nourished, infection free and conditioned from here on out! See you then.
Bless.

Are You Coco For Coconuts?
Coconuts have been found to be extremely nutritious. They provide coconut meat (which we usually purchase as flakes), juice and milk. It also provides oil which has fed, nourished and soothed populations, externally and internally around the world for hundreds of years. Many island nations use the coconut as a staple food in their diet because it provides the majority of the food the people eat. The idea I present here is to use it both internally and externally.
Tumblr media
 Hair Conditioner and De-Tangler:
Coconut oil is great for all hair types. Thin, thick, straight or curly-- coconut oil helps amazingly. Quick top: After blow drying or flat ironing, apply a dot size of coconut oil to your palms and comb through hair to achieve sheen.
Deep Conditioner for Hair:
Perhaps once a month or after coloring, perming, straightening or other treatment, slather coconut oil on your scalp and let it soak in for 30 minutes or as long as you please, then shampoo out.
Homemade Coconut Oil Shampoo:
It’s not difficult to make your own shampoo, as follows-
Simply mix 1/4 cup coconut milk (I use the Thai canned coconut milk but there are other options to experiment with or you can make your own) with 1/3 cup liquid castile soap (like Dr. Bronner’s) and combine with 1 tablespoon coconut oil, 1 teaspoon almond oil and
10 to 20 drops of essential oil of lavender or rose (stop after 10 drops and see how you like the fragrance, then add more. Slowly checking after each addition to customize your shampoo). Combine all ingredients in a blender or whisk thoroughly and pour into a recycled shampoo bottle or jar. Shake well. Again you can recycle whatever you have on hand for this purpose. It’s great to re-purpose whenever we can. Shampoo as you would with any shampoo and rinse well. A rinse of 50 percent water and 50 percent white vinegar is an excellent finish.
For less hassle, try a coconut oil hair mask.
Coconut Oil Hair Mask:
Simply mix 1 tablespoon organic honey with
3 tablespoons of coconut oil (optional ingredient) and one raw beaten egg yolk. Whisk thoroughly or use your blender.
Once in shower and your hair is wet but not dripping, pour the hair mask onto the ends of your hair a little bit at a time, working your way up to the scalp. As soon as you've used all the mask and your hair is thoroughly coated, wrap it in a damp warm towel or a shower cap. Then leave in for 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo your hair as usual. For a deeper conditioning treatment try this:
Deep Coconut Oil Conditioner Recipe
One very ripe mashed fresh avocado 2 tablespoons coconut oil 2 tablespoons purified water 2 tablespoons organic (preferably raw) heavy cream
Combine all ingredients. Using a wide tooth comb, comb conditioner through your hair and cover with a shower cap or wrap your head in a warm towel for 30 minutes. Allow the Coconut Oil Conditioner to penetrate deep into your hair and scalp. Rinse the conditioner out with tepid water. Lastly, shampoo with our homemade coconut oil shampoo (as shown above) and rinse.
Each homemade personal care products will last up to a week if kept refrigerated.
You can see by these examples that there are many personal care products that we can make ourselves by utilizing the beauty-fuel coconut and other natural ingredients. When we cook and use coconut oil in many of our recipes, we make full use of the beauty-fuel benefits of the bounty that the coconut and nature itself offers us. This way we can achieve beauty that is more than skin deep!
Savor & Enjoy!
