niche but controversial TLT opinion: i dislike it when people headcanon harrow as autistic without also acknowledging she’s canonically schizophrenic!

to be clear, i understand where the autistic headcanon comes from! but they’re both neurodevelopmental disorders and there’s a lot of negative symptom overlap between autism & schizophrenia (which is why the autism assessment also asks if you experience schizophrenia’s positive symptoms, like delusions or hallucinations). i think ignoring the more-stigmatized disorder is weird, especially because tamsyn muir is open about writing harrow’s mental illness from personal experience!

TIL about the autism assessment! but yeah, I have Thoughts about mental health headcanons fandom, mostly that I think there's often some level of projecting what one is familiar with + hesitance that you will fuck up writing something you don't know, but I think that Harrow's hallucinations are a Big part of why she's like that and definitely shape her personality.

the apples haunt me! i keep circling back to one thing: her work on the apples is described as "attempts to halt decay". which sounds an awful lot like what john describes happening to the bodies. when U-- and T-- wouldn't rot, how "all the ones [he] touched, all the ones [he] loved" stayed incorruptible. it also sounds a lot like gideon's corpse. it sounds like she's trying to do what we've only ever seen john do.

i think it's possible that ianthe has her sights set a little higher than lyctorhood.

[vibrates intensely] oh, d&d podcast recs??? “dungeons and daddies” is super lighthearted and fun! it’s kind of like taz in that it’s *technically* d&d, but really it’s shaping up to be a found-family story with four kinda shitty dads who are learning how to be better fathers. the character dynamics are gr8, and also the dm sometimes sounds like john mulaney! overall, it’s just a really fun listen, and it only has fourteen episodes so it’s easy to catch up!!! (also, this is uno-steel, btw!)
