DP x DC AU: Danny desperately wants to find the explosion guy. Tim is really good at covering his tracks... he didn't account for ghosts.
The explosions make it onto TV as purported terror activity and most people haven't heard of that part of the world much less ever given a second thought to care about it. The only real reason it gets reported on has something to do with the Justice League and... Danny knows too much.
He's been in training for Clockwork's court (which he's suspicious of- feels like kingly duty bullshit- but Danny is playing along out of curiosity for now) and he's learned a lot about how the living and non-living worlds collide. That means learning about CW's usual suspects- one of which just happened to have a ton of bases around the area Danny was seeing on the news.
It didn't take long for Danny to try to piece together that whoever blew up Nanda Parbat was trying to fuck with the League of Shadows, and was doing it successfully. Less green portals in the world the better, same goes for assassins. But it gets Danny thinking... Maybe he can employ similar tactics on the GIW Bases that keep spawning on the edges of Amity Park. It would at least set them back while he and his friends navigated the help line desk to request Justice League intervention. None of them can leave Amity Park, so outreach is going to have to be creative.
So Danny figures he'll just find the guy. Call up some ghosts who were there, or er, came from there and get a profile and track him down. But the ghosts keep saying it was The Detective. Annoying!
Danny goes full conspiracy theory, gets Tucker and Sam involved, and begrudgingly asks Wes Weston his thoughts.
He hadn't expected Wes to garble out a thirty minute presentation (that had 100 more slides left to go before he cut it off) about how Batman totally trained with a cult and so did his kids. Danny kind of rolled his eyes but... hey, new avenue of searching in the Infinite Realms at least.
The ghosts confirm that Bombs is for sure not Batman's MO- But maybe his second kid would know? The second kid was already brought back to life though, so no way to easily reach him... Danny starts to realize that this might be the work of a Robin now. Wasn't the red one known for solving cold cases? (Sam provides this information- its a social faux pas to not know hero gossip at Gotham Galas- everything she's learned is against her will).
It all comes to a head when Danny goes about the hard task of opening a portal for the guy to come through at just the right time, explain the infinite realms so he doesn't panic and then describe what the fuck was going on with the GIW. It takes months, just over a full year, of random (educated guesses) portal generating- Finally, Red Robin drops into the land of the dead.
"So, you're the guy I've got to talk to about explosions right?" Danny enthusiastically asks.
Tim thinks he's died and landed in the after life following 56 hours of being awake and plummeting off the side of a building into a Lazarus pool. Nothing makes sense about the kid in front of him.
"Yeah, I got a guy for munitions." Tim answers cooly.
"How do you feel about secretly sanctioned government operations that violate protected rights?"
"Gotta get rid of 'em some how. Need me to point you in the right direction?" This might as well be happening.

Back Up Often, Back Up Local.
Hey kids, it's your local elder millenial coming at you live to remind you that anything on a cloud server or a social media network (including this one) is not to be considered secure. If you have artwork or writing you value, back up often, and back up local. Storage space is cheap, get yourself some USB sticks or an external drive and store that shit, or god forbid, if you're lucky enough to have access to an optical drive every so often burn a disc of archived works. There is no promise that an online server you post to will be there tomorrow. I've just learned that ello shuttered overnight and took down all the artwork stored there. It's no big one to me because I store local, but there's a lot of people who are hurting due to the loss, and I've been there kids. I did heaps of really interesting writing and artwork that I published on servers that don't even exist anymore. Even well maintained, well loved servers reach the end of their lifespan and are switched off, decommissioned, and or compromised. Power outages, natural disaster, the works - keep it in your own hands, and you know exactly where it is and what state it's in.
If you have questionable living arrangements or dangerous people around you that make your art or writing insecure at home, the next best thing is to email to a trusted friend and get them to download and store local.
Storing across multiple platforms is better than nothing, I guess, if you don't have that option - so Google Drive and Protondrive, multiple different email addresses (mail them back and forth) and private posts on networks on which you don't usually publish (Dreamwidth is still going strong and is actively involved in fighting restrictive social media laws - they deserve your attention).
If you write in Google docs, for the love of pterry back it up or post it privately somewhere else once it's done.
No one tells the young people, so I am going to - back up often, and back up local. If you live through your art, keep it in your own hands. Do not trust corporations to keep your shit safe for you, and remember - you can never have too many backups.

i've been using google docs for so long and it's such a comfortable app to write on, not to mention the fact that I can work on the same file on my laptop and phone, so all this AI shit really saddens me and angers me. Like it's either use an app with ads popping up every other second or get your words fed into machines, ain't it? this is what we have come to. it's honestly depressive. i wish capitalism stopped taking the soul and humanity out of everything.

So, I just had a thought (& possible realization that could be canon?):
As I'm sure many of us TNG fans are aware, it's never canonically addressed where, how, or when exactly Data got Spot. However, based on the order of the episodes, Spot wasn't shown or mentioned until "Data's Day", & because we were shown Data's quarters several times throughout Seasons 1-3 without any indications of a cat living with him, we can assume that he got Spot somewhere either in the end of Season 3 or the beginning of Season 4 (I know the argument could be made that he could have still had Spot, it just wasn't very clearly established or shown, but for the sake of my theory, let's assume that not showing Spot or evidence of Data having her indicates that he didn't have her yet).
The events of "Brothers" occurs just several episodes before "Data's Day". We saw in "Brothers" that after Dr. Soong died, Data took some of his father's things with him (i.e. the toy dinosaurs that he gave to the two brothers who were also in the episode). I think it's highly unlikely that Data would have only taken those two dinosaurs from his father's place, & I think he almost certainly took a lot more of his father's things with him (i.e. he probably took some of his books, artwork, etc.).
I think it can also be assumed that Dr. Soong didn't like being alone, & always preferred the company of another being (his sons & Juliana, for example). After the Crystalline Entity attacked, Juliana left, Data joined Starfleet, & Dr. Soong was left all by himself on that whole planet, I think he got really lonely, but didn't know or have any other person in his life that he could seek companionship with. Not wanting to go through the intense emotional & physical tolls of creating another android son again, & being unable to find another partner or spouse, I think he would have probably gotten himself a pet as a last-ditch effort to curb his loneliness.
But what would his pet be? Perhaps a cat...?
Long story short, I propose this theory: Spot was originally Dr. Soong's cat, & after he died & Data was looking through his place to determine all the things he wanted to keep, he found Spot, & knew he had to take her with him.
I'd have to rewatch "Brothers" to look for any evidence of Dr. Soong having a cat, as well review the episodes after "Brothers" & before "Data's Day" to see if they showed Data's quarters clearly catless again, to support this theory, but I genuinely think this could be how Data got Spot

APISCRAPY’s Free Web Crawler: Streamlining Data Collection
As we leave behind the first half of 2022, the reverberations of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to shape our personal and professional lives. Looking forward, what can we expect in terms of data analytics? My prediction is that businesses will increasingly prioritize strategic decision-making to mitigate financial and operational risks. In my view, this year will witness data's pivotal role in optimizing business processes across organizations. Data is the driving force behind strategy, rapid transformation, innovation, and various other essential aspects of running a successful business. It guides decisions ranging from recruiting new talent to introducing product enhancements, and everything in between.
Furthermore, fully data-driven organizations tend to generate 8–10% more profit and are 23 times more likely to attract new consumers compared to their competitors.
Data: The Cornerstone of Business Activities
Describing data as the foundation or core element of every business activity wouldn't be an overstatement. However, many organizations face challenges in accessing real-time data. Consequently, leveraging data to enhance business processes across the organization becomes a complex task. So, what's the solution to this conundrum?
We are currently inundated with data, with approximately 2.5 quintillion bytes of new data created every day. To tap into this vast pool of data, you need access to the right technology and resources that can help you identify, collect, and interpret relevant data. You need to weave the right technology into the fabric of your data collection process.
Choosing the Right Data Collection Technology
The use of automated tools is the most efficient way to collect and centralize data for analysis and research in a repository. Many companies opt to employ in-house developers to build web crawlers or write code to extract information from specific websites. While a custom-built web data extractor may provide your company with valuable information, the development process demands a significant investment of time and money. Additionally, maintaining a web crawler incurs ongoing operational costs.
I understand that many readers would be curious to learn about an alternative data extraction solution that not only saves time and money but also minimizes hassles and errors.
Enter APISCRAPY: Your Data Solution and Automation Partner
As someone deeply invested in business success, I prefer the option of partnering with a data solution and automation company that offers pre-built web crawlers. These crawlers are feature-rich and quality-oriented, effectively replacing the need for an in-house development team. I understand that selecting a data solution provider and entrusting its services can be challenging, but the benefits are unquestionably valuable.
One of the most reputable names in the web scraping industry is APISCRAPY. The company offers a free web crawler tailored to the scale and requirements of your project. A pre-built, intelligent site scraper from APISCRAPY can seamlessly replace your in-house development team. In fact, APISCRAPY provides AI-supported site crawler software that adapts rapidly to the evolving digital landscape, a feat challenging for a standard, outdated data scraper.
Conclusion:
Opting for a pre-built web crawler is a superior choice compared to developing one in-house with your development team. This blog post has extensively detailed the evidence supporting this assertion. From saving time to providing greater scalability, pre-built site scrapers efficiently manage all aspects of data collection, making it a hassle-free process. Such solutions empower organizations to achieve their goals without overburdening their developers with extensive workloads. Gone are the days when businesses invested extensively in developing in-house tools. Today, pre-built solutions are accessible within budgetary constraints.
If you're ready to enrich your database with high-quality data, visit APISCRAPY's official website to explore their certified free web crawler.

This is not from my post originally (it's a popular post from about 5 days ago and ironically spreads a picture taken without consent). I've censored the original picture because this is a jumping off point for what happened to me on Sunday while at work.
So I was at work on the shop floor when a man came in facetiming someone. He was picking up books and showing them to the lady he was facetiming, who told him that those books weren't the ones she was looking for. The man then turns to me (I was behind the tills) and asks I've I've heard of [book name]. I hadn't and explained that I'd been stocking the bookshelves earlier and hadn't come across it while doing that. He then flips his phone around so that the facetime camera is pointing at me. I freak out internally because what the hell?? I'm at work and you didn't ask me to talk to whoever it is you're talking to.
Man walks around the tills, comes up to the threshold of the till area and shoves the camera closer to my face. Because of where I was stood, I physically could not walk away from the tills because there is a wall of books in my way. I would have had to jump over the counter to leave. Honestly the whole thing made me really uncomfortable and I deeply resent people who think it's okay to take pictures of or record people in public. Ask for permission first. And if you can't, don't! Especially don't corner someone and force them to facetime a complete stranger. It's not okay, even if you think it's lighthearted.
