What if I told you I wrote this in a college level class. There isn't an actual plot in this drabble, but more of an introspection about Noelle. Let me know your thoughts 🥰

Noelle's feet crunched beneath the ground, making contact with the crumpled autumn leaves. A harsh breeze hit her face and she quickly brushed her long golden hair away from her cheeks. She took off a hair tie and pulled her hair into a low ponytail, twisting the elastic between her hair.

She paused at the shore of the lake and reached her hooves out. She felt the thin layer of water slosh against her. Noelle took a deep inhale, the familiar scent of salty water entering her nose. She couldn’t help but smile and sat on the ground. She made sure her skirt didn’t ruffle beneath the patch of sand in front of the lake.

Noelle dug her hand beside the shore, picking up several smooth stones in her palm. She brushed away a few specks of dirt and deposited them beside her. She used her index finger and thumb and aimed her wrist back. She whipped her hand forward and watched the stone bounce across the surface of the water.

She nodded in satisfaction and picked up another rock. She committed the same motion, but it plunged in the water with a sad plop. She said it no mind and continued skipping rocks before she realized her pile was gone. She wiped her hands in the water and flapped them to dry them off.

Noelle felt her phone buzz in her skirt pocket. She quickly picked up her device, feeling her damp hand slip for a moment. She heard her mom on the other end of the call, her voice stern like always.

“Noelle, where are you? Dinner is almost ready and I’m not waiting for you to eat it cold.”

She held in a sigh. “Yes, mom. I’m on my way,” replied Noelle flatly.

Her mom ended the call, and she pocketed her phone again. She rose to her feet and took several steps away from the lake. Noelle spared the body of water a final glance before she headed home.

Sometimes I play around with the idea Cyber City has a very strict heirchy of citizens and addisons are usually menail workers whether they like it or not. They are needed to run things but are in such abundance a lot of non addisons citizens see them as expendable. 

I feel like this is why Spamton’s rise was such a big thing because it’s rare for addisons to get into very important positions let alone ones that are so in your face such as the number one rated salesman of the cyber world! I imagine he was a legend to most addisons only making the strain with the addisons he knew worse cause now people only came to them cause they used to know him instead of the other way around.

Spamton to a lot of ads would become a legend, a cautionary tale, a success story and a tragedy and I think of that a lot.

I just got back home from work and somehow “Spamton-themed sweepstakes for charity” has ballooned into “Noelle may or may not have created Spamton”??? What the heck is going on besides Toby being Toby???

I’m gonna wait until the end of the sweepstakes to make any edits to Spaul’s lore, just to keep an open mind. But don’t go harassing people who don’t think the same as you about this new info, got it everyone?! Ok, angry mode off.

I entered the contest as well. Hopefully if I do win I don’t get the toilet paper or candle, lol both would be very embarrassing to explain to my parents

Anyway, just know that Spaul is probably rolling in whatever Kromer he can steal before it all goes to charity, and he’s excited to pawn off these odds and ends to people he thinks are losers. Have a good night!

Between this and my hyperfixation on Deltarune coming back with the anniversary, I may be coming back sooner than I though…Just maybe.

Mystery of the Eyes

AKA What's up with this reoccurring image, of two eyes, one yellow and one pink?

This face appears as an easter egg in the background of the Basement during the Spamton sidequest - notice it in the dark, in the lower left corner, before the teacup elevator activates.

A similar image reappears in the Spamton Sweepstakes, in this page. If the chair image is saved, or occasionally clicked too many times, the second image of 'Eyes' is seen - similar but different to the first image.

An interesting, but not too important detail, is that the tab header for these 'Eyes' asks: "What if it could get... Darker than Dark?"

It's possible that these images are in reference to Spamton...

But it doesn't seem likely.

This type of 'projection' isn't an ability Spamton has - if he could 'project' his eyes and follow Kris like that, Kris wouldn't need to get the Empty Disk from the basement, which Spamton uses to accompany Kris. This image appears to activate the Teacups, before Kris ever gets the Disk.

There aren't a lot of other characters that could fit the bill for this 'Pink & Yellow Eyes Face'.

Especially because this 'face' seems to be present in all sorts of ways - it was included in cut content.

And this face probably has some connection to Gaster and the introduction - the asset name for the image is 'DEVICE_FRIEND' - fitting the naming scheme for the introduction assets.

Y'know, this place:

Which gets interrupted by...

This voice.

It's been theorized before that this voice is 'Chara', due to similar ways of speaking, though this theory runs into the bigger question of 'What's Chara doing in Deltarune?', which runs into all sorts of issues.

More likely is that this 'voice' is its own character withing this world - an interrupting force in Deltarune's status quo - someone we haven't met yet -

We are left with a huge mystery regarding who or what this voice even is - 'Chara' or Gaster or some other mysterious force. What we DO know is that this force is related to the meta plot of Deltarune - it acts upon the space between 'Us' and the 'Light World'.

There is a high likelihood this force is the same as 'DEVICE_FRIEND' - someone else closely tied to Gaster and the meta plot.

There is another interesting piece of text to analyze regarding this 'voice' - at the end of the Spamton Sweepstakes, on the blurb for 'Spamton's Fate', it says this:

It is HIGHLY likely the speaker for this blurb is the same as the interrupter during the introduction sequence - these two sequences have a number of similarities: a solemn attitude, a malicious undertone, a tendency to philosophize in the middle of speech...

The most obvious detail about the speaker of this blurb is their open envy of Spamton:

"Why should he be so special?", "He wasn't any better than any of us.", "Don't you think it's about time someone else got the spotlight!?"

As if it was a competition, and Spamton's 'Sweepstakes' (& existence) was the sudden reveal at the end - after the Speaker already put in their share amount into 'winning'.

(...Mayhaps the Speaker doesn't enjoy someone with a similar fashion sense getting so much attention...)

And the speaker compares themselves directly to Spamton - "After all, are we really any better...?"

As if the speaker shares some qualities with Spamton... It's not a happy comparison they make.

Here's an interesting tidbit regarding Spamton - he was deliberately erased from public consciousness by Queen.

Ensuring that the average citizen would not encounter or hear about him.

Other interesting detail:

And he was obsessed with a 'machine' for a bit... said machine has roots from places 'more heavenly' than the Dark World.

(What was the purpose of Gaster's Inventions anyways? There's the CORE and the machine he fell into...)

Seems our Mystery Character's encounter with Gaster didn't end up going well...

I hope you know that you shouldn't feel wrong for having these emotions. I get why though. When you take a step back and look at it all, it sometimes feels dumb to get so wrapped up in what internet people think about your work. That's USUALLY the narrative. But like. Don't feel bad for feeling this way. Sure, tying your self worth to people online probably isn't good, but ALSO posting art online is essentially putting a piece of yourself out there. It doesn't matter what form it takes. It could be random little halloween art blurbs. It could be deltarune. It could be original works. It could be vent art. You're putting a piece of YOURSELF into the art, and when it doesn't do what you want it to, that stuff sucks. It can be crushing. I just hope you don't judge yourself for feeling that way in the first place. And as for the art itself, I may not comment every time, but I try to when I see it. There's a personality in everyone's art, and yours really stands out to me. It's peak expressiveness I think. Every character and every little ounce of body language you put in your art tells me exactly what you're trying to convey and I love it. You've already heard me rant about some of the most recent comics. You do pretty damn good. Don't forget that.

Sorry if I scared you or anyone else there.

I want to make it clear that no matter how I feel about my own art, it is not the responsibility of those who view my art- to regularly comment, like, or whatever else. I do not wish to push people into feeling guilty for anything like that. Support is always welcome, but guilt tripping is not.

Thankfully i know very well that I am not alone in feelings of social media overconsumption and all that, but it helps to put it to paper sometimes 😅. idk ahk.

Honestly yeah, what I've been thinking of doing lately is making a long post chain for Eldritchrune with some setup and worldbuilding for it, and then properly colored character art with accompanying info blurbs for each character. Just something I can keep chipping away at and adding to.

I don't want to do an actual long comic series for it since then I'll be concerned about keeping up with a schedule and all that business, and I'm worried that'd suck the fun out of it. (I do want to do another big Deltarune fan project in the future, but considering I'm thinking of being very ambitious with it, I want to wait until all of the full game is out and do something very based in canon.)

So, just a big set of character art and setting ideas that I can use for occasional random drawings that I think are funny or interesting sounds good to me for Eldritchrune.

potential deltarune descendant/oc based on the spamton sweepstakes? they’re a darkner of the giant worm on a string, which i picked for a few reasons

spamton is a spam advertisement program, this guy is a computer worm— they match

the sweepstakes/spamton marketable plushies marked a point where spamton was (at least temporarily) quite popular outside his initial niche and drew in plenty of money— and this character is using their father’s image to sell their spamton-branded products, all while still letting him live in a dumpster while they reap all the profit/benefits. in other words, they’re a (metaphorical and literal) parasite. something that worms are often associated with

as for why they’re spamton’s kid: the blurb for the actual worm on a string could be interpreted as referring to a pet, but the fact that it refers to ‘settling down and having a (little worm) of your own’ kinda sounds like it could be talking about a child.

also: they don’t have arms, the sleeves of their trenchcoat are pinned to the back. under the coat, they’re a giant fluffy snake/worm creature standing up really tall.

I adore stories that have animal characters, monsters, dinosaurs, mythical creatures, nature aesthetic and vibes, anything of the sort! Mushrooms are one of my absolute favorite little beings, they're just so cute☆

Horror is one of my favorite genres, with how you can bend designs and make things creepy or scary. Fav colors are dark purple, black, blues, greens, and brown, and I am a practicing artist. I've made some good things, but I can definitely grow in my craft, and I certainly plan to.

I want to be a novelist, just gotta work through some life stuff to get there. I try to be a positive force, as there's already plenty of negativity going around, and I don't want to be all doom and gloom. Just not how I roll dude.

Projects I'm Working On!

Wof: A Fierce Legacy: Au where Fierceteeth becomes queen after proving herself to Glory against other candidates. After some time, she has three dragonets: Two sons named Shadowglider and Sharpmind, and one daughter named Direclaws, who hatched under two blood moons. Now Fierceteeth has to grapple with the fact her daughter will one day challenge her for the throne... and Direclaws has to grapple with seeing that future.

Wof Legends: Alternate Past: Legitimately was made to give poor Foeslayer a better IceWing husband, then I noticed how much would change, so it's gonna be interesting alright xD It's also gonna be huge. Lots of stuff to cover.

Wof: A Moon Taken By Rain: A curious idea I had for an au where Secretkeeper wasn't there on time, thus Moonwatcher is taken and raised by a RainWing named Macaw. Also RainWings get a big rework, because I think it would be more interesting if they weren't uh... well what they are in book three lol. Don't get me wrong, I love my hippie dragons, but I think it would be better if did have a queen earlier on who whipped them into shape.

Wof: RainWing Succession: The story here is that Queen Grandeur of the RainWings has six daughters, and all of them want the throne for various reasons. The sisters are:

Princess Abundance, Princess Blissful, Princess Cassytha, Princess Divine, Princess Felicity, and Princess Luxurious.

Only one of these dragons is worthy of the throne, and she will have to work for it... and find out why one of her sisters has mysteriously disappeared.

This is gonna be a precursor to the Moon Taken By Rain story!

Tmnt: Beast's Embrace: Something I've been playing with for years lol. It is an Au that goes more in depth into what all mutagen can do, where it came from, and how it effects mutants, on more than one plane of existence. It's a bit of a mix of ninja turtles and Bloodborne, hence why it's called Beast's Embrace.

The brothers are quite different from their more canon selves too, because I feel like it be more interesting and make it stand out.

Mike is the oldest at 19, and the leader of the team, therapist, and the main muscle. He is still goofy and fun loving, but also much more serious and level headed, and quite noble. He is based on the Big Headed Turtle.

Raph is the second oldest at 19, though a couple months behind Mike, and he is second in command, helping plan out strategies, along with being a mechanic, often helping Don. He is more stoic, with a calm energy, though is also very brutal when out fighting. He is based on the Northern River Terrapin.

Don is third eldest at 16, and is the doc and brains when it comes to anything mutagen related, robots or chemistry. He is the most severely mutated due to using mutagen he carefully made to make himself "better", and more himself. Very eccentric, his default expression is a smile, and it takes a lot to make him change expression. He makes a lot of friends. He is based on the Roti Island Snake Neck Turtle.

And finally, Leo is the youngest, at 16, being a couple months younger than Don. He is the fastest and most stealthy, able to sneak in just about anywhere. He is very morbid and sadistic, but grows to be noble and just, as he looks up to Mike. He is based on the Bog Turtle.

I'm also starting to do free wof adopts! I like the joy of creating them, then sending them out into the world for others to enjoy🎉

Wednesday, Thursdays, and Fridays will be the days I schedule for adopts when I have some planned out, I find an old character I'm willing to make into and adopt, etc. Not every week will have adopts, but in general they are the days I will post them when I got some made and ready!

OC-tober Day 5: Relationships

I was going to do a chart but I have too many characters and I haven't introduced them all yet so instead I'll take this as an opportunity to introduce two OCs at once, my two absolutely terrible guys, Laurel and his husband Faust!

(warning for brief mentions of mind control in the context of Laurels powers, lemme know if there's anything else in here anyone would want a warning about that I missed)

Laurel is the closest thing Dualiti really has to a villain, as mentioned in his neocities blurb. but due to Dualiti's very static state of being, he's mostly been bothering the same places and people for the last 1000 years, the only thing changing being who's being sent to fight him. either way, he is extremely content with the status quo he's in, where he has a lot of control in his little bubble and can do basically whatever he feels like. He and Vex have a very complicated rivalry, but that's a whole different quadrant- *I AM IMMEDIATELY DRAGGED OFFSTAGE BY SECURITY*

His husband is Faust, a mad scientist who is the absolute worst. just about everyone who meets him is immediately repulsed by his personality, which is "I am smarter than everyone else and anyone who claims otherwise is stupid and wrong, even when I am actively failing at something". somehow, though, Laurel is absolutely charmed by his cringefail demeanor. it also helps that Faust is equally head over heels for him. they are both completely terrible but I guess somehow they cancel eachother out, so that's nice? I'm glad they managed to find eachother.

Laurel Fun Facts:

Though Laurel looks like just a really tall elf, (he is 7'6". elves in the universe of Dualiti do not get that tall ever.) he's actually a sentient magical organism that is puppeting a corpse to function as his main body. that organism is the slime, which manifests on his body as the hair coming from his head.

when Laurel (the magic organism) consumes matter, it produces more slime, which can be used as structures, weapons, and as means of controlling others.

He can make hunters by basically infecting people with himself, (someone ingests the slime, it gets into an injury, ect.) and puppeting them from the inside. once he's infected someone, they're basically already on his network, and he can step into the controls any time. (you know, like vris- *I am once again dragged offstage*) he doesn't use it a lot unless he has to, though. he likes the challenge of convincing people to work for him.

(also just to get it out there because I mentioned Laurels powers and I want to make it clear that, no, Faust isn't being mind controlled or anything. he just encountered someone who actually genuinely liked him and went full Gomez Addams about it)

He is very much inspired by my love of classic disney villains. always love a character who is awful and is having so much fun with it. Shoutout to my girl Maleficent she inspired SO much about Laurel without me even realizing it.

as mentioned, he and vex have sort of a weird rival thing going on. do they hate eachother? are they best friends? something else? fucking. I don't know man.

Faust Fun Facts:

Faust is very much inspired by characters like Doctor Robotnik, or Berdly of Deltarune. basically characters that are very confident in being super smart even when they probably aren't actually.

this isn't to say he's bad at what he does, he's really good at making robots and doomsday devices and the like- he's just bad at realizing that maybe he shouldn't keep putting in the function for them to explode randomly or at the slightest interference. high intelligence, fucking AWFUL wisdom.

He and Laurel met when Faust accidentally crashed his egg-mobile type thing into Laurels mansion and DIRECTLY onto the table Laurel was having tea at.

it's honestly a miracle Laurel thought he was funny and didn't end up killing him.

Faust does smoke, even though as a hunter/undead he doesn't really like, get any of what you would get from a cigarette. old habits die hard. (maybe he just likes the taste.)

as mentioned he is absolutely hopeless over Laurel. Laurel could literally do anything and Faust would think it was great. thankfully Laurel likes him just as much right back, which means that Faust can fuck up his evil schemes as much as possible and Laurel will not even care. he loves his silly little idiot so much.

a very long monologue about Heartbound and the beginning

Let me chop it here so it doesn’t sit there like a wall on anyone’s screen. I’m gonna talk abt the game and analyze its current story and all that jazz

Heartbound originally released its early access back in 2018 on Christmas Day. And, like every other game released in 2018, it was shadowed by the wave that was Deltarune CH1′s release. Games like Underhero, Wandersong, and as I’m gonna talk about here: Heartbound. Now, Heartbound is very far from a finished game. There’s regular dev streams on it and everything, funny things are said and the progress is interesting to watch. The team is very small, so things are slow, but it’s still very beautifully crafted story wise. I asked a few of my friends for their thoughts on it and to sum it up it was “I think the characters are cool and the concepts are neat”. That’s definitely true!!! A tldr, if you will. Though there’s much more to be said.

You play as a boy named Lore with a pet dog named Baron. Lore does not have a good family. The condition of the household he’s in literally says it all. That shit is ruined.

Lore, alongside Baron, go on an EPIC VIKING QUEST TO SLAY THE GARBAGE MONSTER (or, take out the trash.)!!! In fact, the main motivation to get out of bed is due to Baron being hungry and unable to open his can of dog food. Because “paws n stuff”. Once you’ve fed Baron and tossed out the trash, you can head back to bed. This is where the game starts. Before I actually talk about what happens before you wake, I’d like to talk about Guardians and Darksiders. Within the game there’s an overarching theme of Light and Dark, pretty simple. The good is orange, the bad is purple. These colors are literally everywhere, it’s hard to miss… they even have their own separate glyphs. Take a peek [these lead to the FANDOM pages, if you wish to see no more of my words just sift through there].

Pretty cool, right? Your choices will effect which you’re affiliated with. In fact, your first choice dictates it all. When going to feed Baron, there’s a can of dog food on the counter and of course, the garbage. If you have both, you’re prompted with the option to either feed him the Viking Feast Brand Dog Food or The Garbage. Feeding him the dog food will, of course, keep you on a good path. But feeding him the trash will trigger hardmode and Darksider events [hence the purple light in the screenshot displayed a bit above]. Moving on, you go out and search for Baron after waking up to having your house ripped to shreds by an unknown beast (assumed to be Barghest). Once far enough into the forest, you’ll encounter this pulsating mass of yuck and nightmares called Barghest.

[Above image is a rather terribly cropped headshot of Barghest.] Barghest is possibly the most obvious darksider you’ve laid eyes on… it’s purple and speaks in darksider glyphs. You tussle with it for a bit before being saved by an old man named Binder, whom is quickly revealed to be a Guardian.

He takes you to his library, which, is where he explains things aren’t very simple and yadda yadda. Lore has a cringe babyman fit before Binder leaves to fix the clock for you. Most, if not all objects in Binder’s home/the library are interactive, leading to funny little blurbs and interactions with Binder on occasion. Quoted from @prettybeegkittykat​​ ; “The old man ever. He studies sticks! He’s a guardian of books! He has a singular apple, very private. Definitely one of the best old guys in fiction, I don’t take criticism.”

Could not have said it better myself, friend. Once you are done interacting with everything [or skipping it all and just making a beeline to talk to Binder], he’ll tell you it’s nice to appreciate the little things [or ask if you’re not the curious type, depending on how much you looked at] and then send you off to… space? Let’s say space. After completing some puzzles and not being lasered in space (quality plan), you approach this ABSOLUTE ASSHOLE BOOK deemed “the artifact”. The artifact is A TOTAL BITCH and will continuously encourage you to do horrible things, say horrible things about you, etc… yeah. Not a fun character, but a necessary one.
