Drawing My Homestuck Ships Part 1

Yooo, I just kinda decided to destress this week by casually doodling my Homestuck ships in these generic poses. I had the sudden inclunation to try to contribute something for my favorite pairings, lol. Most of em are rarepairs/not often seen ships that I think are fun!

1. DirkUU: My OTP. The dumbest of fucks. Nothing compares to my love of imagening these two idiots becoming something strangely functional and wholesome. I want them to balance eachother out so bad it makes me look STUPID.

2. EquiHal: This ship kinda happened as I was getting into DirkUU thanks to an amazing fanfic on AO3. Arquius is an adorably amazing character in and of itself that showed up what this combo had going for itself, but imagining both entities staying separate and still realizing how well they mesh together is so cute!! Equius helping Hal build his body without the help of Dirk and finding the other's strangeness to be endearing instead of being put off.... good shit aaah.

3. GamJane: Yes I am a fool. I really hoped when Gamzee showed up in the Alpha Kids' sessions that he'd stick around them more. My on-and-off reading got my imagination spinning, hoping that since Tavrisprite didn't work out, Gamzee would kinda step up to be an unexpected guide for Jane through the game. I just think that would've been cool 😔 The way Jane dealt with Gamzee in their short amount of screentime together was the type of dynamic I love. 🥺 Let her have a dumb evil clown distract her from a dumb Jake! Gamzee really could've been used better *sighs*

For John, i just thought he was super funny and cute, and super nerdy which is awesome bc im super nerdy too and we can be nerds together <3 and just like????? idk i love him!!!!! i am a sucker for the like, well meaning but kind of oblivious protagonist, but like hes not oblivious so i shouldnt say that, just, his specific protagonist role i absolutely love <33

With Gamzee its just like, idk!!!! i fall in love too easy, and he just seems like a sweet guy that i can talk to and chill with and also tall <3 hes like my best friend and we also kiss and i think that is so cool <333333333

And Dirk........... idk im just gay lol no but seriously, i just love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is also my best friend and we kiss!!!!! i just think he's cool....... hes super cool and i think we would be super cool together!!! <33

3. What was your first opinion of your f/o? Has it changed since?

My first impression of John was just "omg its the homestuck guy :) cool" and then it evolved into "omg hes so silly and funny :D hehehe he is so cute!!" and then it turned into "oh god he's been through so much but hasnt processed it and i just wanna be there with him and we can help eachother and smile and hug and grow as people together......... i need to kiss him now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

My first impressions of Gamzee was like ":o cool troll guy!!" and then i was like "what :(" bc like hey why is everybody so unnecessarily cruel to him >:( this character arc sucks :( and then i was like "he deserves so much better, i just wanna hang with him.................. hes so pretty and i wanna kiss him <3"

With Dirk, at first i was like "? ok" like i was kind of confused and it took me a while to read his stuff but then i was like "ohhh.................................... oh my god" and then i was like "what if................................................ we kissed and it was so cool o//o" basically after reading homestuck i began developing feelings for them because i had an understanding of their character and then was just like "but.... what if we hung out together :) and kissed <3"

Remember when Meenah called Lord English hot? This fact is kinda funny when considering Lord English is a mashup of young boys and Meenah has a reputation for going after characters way too young for her. Like damn, unintentional parallel? Would Caliborn x Meenah even work? She's into Karkat who parallels Caliborn in multiple ways but I feel like it would be in a more creepy way.

She really did say that in Openbound. It makes me wonder too which parts of Lord English she thinks is hot. Does she think Dirk or Auto Responder is hot? Equius? Lil Cal? Half of Gamzee (lol)? But I can see it being likely Caliborn too since he is the most like Karkat. I can see them being like kismesis. Like I can see them rag on each other because they are shocked to see that the person they grew up to be, weren't as impressive when they were young. I can see Meenah calling Caliborn a lesser version of Karkat while Caliborn just calls Meenah a fish w)-(or--E. At best, he will say thank you for her older self's services in serving Lord English. But in turn, she'll be damn proud of what her other self has done. As long as HIC gets to be a badass bitch, that's all it can convince Meenah she is awesome as fuck. And ironically enough, when thinking about Her Imperious Condesce working with Lord English to cause mass destruction and death to the universe....guess who Meenah in Homestuck 2 and by extension, Homestuck Beyond Canon, is helping for war, which also causes mass destruction?

Guess some things never change. Karkat is the new Lord English confirmed lmfao
