@ ALL CRASHQUEENS AND KILLJOYS!
i've been in this fandom since 2016, so i've seen headcanons and zone culture and terminology of all kinds.
with that said , i'd like to present the official (unofficial) danger days dictionary. includes everything from zone culture, slang, battery city locations, phoenix witch, even down to bad luck beads and the dust bowl.
for the nitpickers out there, the comics are mainly discarded in this— due to how overwhelming it would be to throw in even MORE overlapping terms and such. some comic characters have been slipped into the regular timeline / universe, just for funsies and a honorary mention. don't come at me, thanks!
REBLOGS RECOMMENDED.

i was planning on posting this in pages of 3 but ive been working on this for too long now and the next 5 pages will still take awhile and i felt bad for delaying it for so long so have this now. this comic (and the subsequent next pages) is based off of this post by @blood-injections that i adored so much! thank you to them for giving me permission to adapt it into a comic :] more pages are coming so I do hope you guys will be patient with me while i struggle to figure out how to manage my time in my first semester. I'm unsure if the next pages will be posted one at a time or in two's or three's, we'll have to see, but for now I hope you guys enjoy this "^^
edit: page 2 and 3 are here!!
edit: page 4!!

Dr Death Defying, over radio: Testing. Testing. Cherri, can you hear me?
Cherri Cola, standing next to Dr D: I’m standing right here.
Dr D: You’re coming through good and loud.
Cherri: ‘Cause I’m standing right here.

I can't stop thinking about how much the killjoys would love zines as they're a relatively low-tech way of sharing both art and information across the desert. I'm imagining killjoys from different zones trading zines when they cross paths in the desert, and Dr Death Defying promoting them on the radio. Photos taken on film and old gas stations kitted out to develop them. Zines sharing tips on everything from scavenging food in the desert to changing a spark plug, with detailed illustrations. Cherri Cola's poetry becoming popular in zines first before he got on the radio. Art is the weapon. Witness accounts of firefights, an archive of obituaries, issues treasured because the killjoys who put them together got ghosted not long after. How to reduce turbo lag, how to make Power Pup taste less like dog food, how to do liberty spikes. Zines by battery city escapees, zines by recovering waveheads, zines by 'joys injured in combat. Art depicting the "neverending party" at the Nest, the harsh beauty of the desert and the bright colours of the killjoys. There are really so many possibilities.

I don't think Dr D ever wanted to be a symbol of the revolution, nor did he ever really want to be "the voice of the Zones". He only fought in the helium wars because he was protecting his family. Which at the time was Show Pony, his nephew that was entrusted with him just before the wars started, and the hope that Show Pony's parents, Dr D's brother and sister-in-law, would live to see their child again. But they didn't. And the wars ended. And what was he to do? The only thing he did before the wars was play silly songs and tell stories over his radio broadcast. Show had just 13 and he knew they knew that their parents weren't coming back. So now he had a mourning teenager and the difficulties of living in the middle of a desert where killjoy society was just barely forming, not to mention getting used to being in a wheelchair. What was he to do besides turn back to what he did before? He flicked on all the switches, plugged in the microphone, and had Show start up the generator he managed to save. And thus the WKIL 109 FMX or 109 radio station was born. Out of grief. Out fo struggle. Out of need for something from before everything went to shit. And soon word spread all over the newly forming "Zones" of this man called Doctor Death Defying that would come on over the radio and talk about stories, tell words of encouragement, and even share songs made by the rebellion. Over the years as this became a sort of routine for him and Pony he took on new people, helping them get their start or pulling them out of horrible situations. And it was through this music and Cherri's poetry and pure word of mouth from Killjoy to Killjoy that he became the voice of the Zones. Even after his death you can sometimes still hear recordings of him speaking if you tune into the radio at the right times. Some killjoys say it's because Show still plays them sometimes, it's like Dr D always said, "Even if you're dusted, you may be gone, but out here in the desert your shadow lives on without you."

Look alive, sunshine! 109 in the sky, but the pigs won't quit
You're here with me, Dr. Death-Defying! I'll be your surgeon, your proctor, your helicopter, pumpin' out the slaughtermatic sounds to keep you alive.
A system failure for the masses, anti-matter for the master plan, louder than God's revolver and twice as shiny .
This one's for all of you rock'n'rollers, all you crash queens and motor babies, listen up!
The future is bulletproof, the aftermath is secondary. It's time to do it now and do it loud! Killjoys, make some noise!
[radioactive by Imagine Dragons starts playing]

the most unrealistic part of the danger days music videos is the notion that party poison would be the only one in the fab 4 to have hair dyed an unnatural color

Zone 5’s hottest club is Hyperthrust. Club owner News-A-Gogo is back from her five month stint in a Battery City prison camp, and she’s dialing it up to eleven. Located in the vacant ruins of the hospice complex off the Getaway Mile, this place has everything. Rock and Rollers, Crash Queens, Motorbabies, Radio Personality Cherri Cola officiating shotgun weddings while wearing a 1920s bathing suit and wrap-around sunglasses.
Be sure to catch “Newton’s Law Of Gravity” on Wednesday night, which is that thing when you get ten orphans from Gravel Gertie’s, lay them down side by side, and Doctor Death Defying launches himself over them in his wheelchair.
