Human au/Immortal throuple idea!

Hob and Dream are best friends but Hob has a secret. He has been in love with Dream his whole life. But as far as he knows, Dream is only interested in women.

In fact, when Hob meets Calliope in a college course, develops a crush and invites her out for drinks, he sees the exact moment Dream falls in love with her. He watches it happen and feels his heart break again. Because Calliope is amazing. hob already knows it. But what can he offer either of them?

So Hob encourages Dream and Calliope to date, and pretends it’s fine. Dream has had flings before but this time, Hob knows it is serious. Still he hangs out with them all the time. More than he should, but Hob can’t ever turn them down when they invite him out. Their other friends joke about Hob being their constant third wheel.

After a year, Dream proposes and Hob helps throw them an engagement party. And Dream and Calliope both jokingly fight over who gets Hob as their best man. They share.

But Hob is at his limit. He had tried to quiet his heart but it’s just too painful to be so in love. And as long as he is in their lives, he knows he will never get over them. So quietly, Hob puts in an application for a grad program in the states, as far away as he can get. He doesn’t have the heart to tell them, not when they’re so excited for their future. He doesn’t want to ruin their happiness.

The day of the wedding, hob is heartbroken but so happy to see them happy. He means every word of his speech, where he tells the crowd how well matched they are, and how they are his best friends. He hugs them goodbye. Even if they don’t know it’s goodbye forever, he tries to memorize those last moments. And then as Dream and Calliope depart for their honeymoon in Greece, Hob shuts the door in his packed up apartment and hops on a plane.

Dream and Calliope don’t hear from Hob on their trip—but they assume he wants to give him space. But when they get back, they find a letter from Hob waiting. Hob tells them he has loved Dream for years but he knows his feelings aren’t returned. He tells them that he is not angry and that he knows Calliope will make Dream so happy. He admits that he loves Calliope too. He tells them to take care of each other but that he needs to move on and he is sorry but this is the only way he could think to do it. If he saw them he knows they would have been able to talk him out of it.

Dream falls to pieces. He calls Hob over and over but Hob has changed his number. He has deleted his social media. Hob doesn’t want to be found. Calliope is stunned by her own heartbreak. And she’s never seen Dream like this.

Their first year of marriage is rocky. Without Hob’s joyfulness Dream drags Calliope into depressive spirals. Without his gentleness, they grate on each other’s nerves. They realize how much Hob had been the glue that helped them work. Their sex feels more like fighting for dominance than making love. Calliope is sure Dream resents her for Hob’s leaving. And sometimes he spits at her that she is right, he does. It’s clear something is missing. Now they realize not only have they lost Hob, they’re on the verge of losing each other.

Calliope, because she is a queen, finally sits Dream down to talk about Hob. He tends to fly into a rage or collapse into sadness at the mention of Hob’s name these days. But she makes him talk to her about him. About their friendship. And slowly they realize that not only did they depend on Hob, but they might have been in love with him too.

So there is only one thing to do. They have to track Hob down and convince him to give them a chance. But how will they find him when he is determined not to be found? And if they find him, what if he has already moved on?

Oh I love it!!! 3 dumbasses is the only thing better than 2 dumbasses.

I'm imagining that they rally all their friends and family to try and track Hob down. Calliope's sisters put out feelers around Europe, Death contacts all of her colleagues in the medical field, and Delirium has the amazing idea to get in touch with their brother Destruction (now know as Ollie) who also disappeared at one point and knows the best places to go to track Hob down. With a plan of action and hope in their hearts, Dream and Calliope's relationship actually settles into something more like it used to be. They feel united and they finally start to comfort each other instead of fighting.

Ollie's work pays off and he tracks Hob down studying for his PhD and living in the middle of bumfuck, nowhere. He's changed his name and even altered his appearance slightly - long hair tied back in a ponytail, beard sleek and neat around his jaw. Ollie sends the information to Dream and he and Calliope are on the first flight out to the nearest airport.

Hob is... not mad that they tracked him down. He's fucking lonely and he misses his two best friends, and he's not sure if he made the right decision. Never getting to see them hurts even more than seeing them in love. When they show up on the doorstep on his trailer he's so relieved he could cry.

Calliope smacks him on the chest, hard enough to make him stumble, and she says a lot of thing that mainly boil down to "I'm so mad that you didn't even give us a CHANCE to love you." And Dream is all teary eyes and trembling lips, holding onto Hob’s sleeve like he's going to just disappear into thin air. Eventually they all go inside, and Hob makes tea. Just like he always used to.

Dream and Calliope get on either side of Hob and twine themselves around him like vines on a trellis. They need his support and strength to allow them to grow. And they feel awful that they never even realised just how important he was. He should have been an equal partner in their relationship from the very beginning. And now they have him back, they're both practically trembling with want. They need to show him that they want him to come back and be with them always!

Meanwhile Hob is just trying to work out if this is just a wonderful dream come true... or if his two loves are really crowding him up against the wall and kissing every inch of him they can reach?!

Smay Day 22: "Are you going to behave now?"

I've been so bad about doing these prompts but when I do get time, I have so much fun with them! Tonight's slightly late Day 22 prompt is dedicated to my fellow Immortal Throuple shippers in The Sadman server 💖

Dream stares, eyes locked on Hob’s, as he slowly, deliberately, pushes his full pint glass off the bar. It shatters on the wood floor.

Next to him, Calliope gasps, then dissolves into a fit of giggles.

“Oh, you’re in for it now,” she says, voice filled with amusement.

“Am I?” Dream challenges, chin raised in obvious defiance. He raises his arm again, presumably to push yet another glass off the bar, and that is when Hob’s shock finally wears off. He grabs Dream by the wrist, and yanks him off the barstool to a standing position.

“Upstairs, now,” Hob growls, his face crowded into Dream’s.

“And you,” he says to Calliope, “are coming too.”

Calliope all but squeals in delight, hopping off her stool and grabbing her purse before she begins to follow them.

Hob thinks he’s going to have to drag Dream upstairs, but the other man goes willingly, pressing himself close to Hob’s side as they make their way up the narrow staircase. Hob can feel the erection against his thigh and he tsks as he unlocks the door to his flat.

“If you think you’re getting off tonight, you have another thing coming,” he says, before he yanks both Dream and Calliope through the front door.

They are both on him in an instant, all lips and teeth and tongue. Calliope is kissing his throat and working at unbuttoning his dress shirt while Dream is grinding himself shamelessly on his leg while he licks into Hob’s mouth.

It is a familiar song and dance. Hob walks backwards until the back of his knees hit the couch, and then, they collapse into a tangled pile of limbs on the couch. Hob is not the most fit man in his opinion, but his thighs have certainly grown more than enough muscle these last few months to support both Dream and Calliope at the same time.

It’s little effort to get Dream out of his trousers, the younger man far too eager to get to the next step. Calliope’s dress slips off easily over her head as well, leaving her in a lovely set of lingerie Hob knows she’s picked out just for this evening.

Normally this would be the point where they would fight over who gets to sit on his cock first. But tonight, Hob has a different plan in mind.

As soon as Dream manages to unwind Hob’s belt, he grabs it from the other man and gently pushes Calliope off to the side of the couch along with the belt. He then grabs Dream by the hair and pulls.

“Are you going to behave now?” Hob asks. Dream smirks and shakes his head.

“I didn’t think so,” Hob replies, before he lets go of Dream’s hair then pushes him down over his lap.

Older couple dream and calliope are shopping for a sugar baby because it keeps life interesting and they both love domming and spoiling the crap out of someone—together ❤️

They go on websites but no one is a perfect fit. Until over the holidays, Orpheus brings home a friend who has no family to spend the season with.

Hob is their son’s age (20s). He is their son’s friend. He comes in with college debt and three jobs and a big smile, offering to help with chores and cooking while he’s staying there. He’s also a baby pansexual who gets tipsy at dinner and starts talking about how he is looking for new experiences, enough that Dream is rock hard in his pants at the dinner table. Instantly Calliope and Dream lock eyes and know. Hob is meant to be theirs to spoil, cherish, punish and pamper.

So not only do they need to woo Hob into their bed (they have so many plans already) but they also have to somehow break the news to Orpheus…

Listen, Hob was just made to be pampered. He's a pretty little twink with big brown eyes and that teeny tiny waist, and Dream and Call both want to eat him alive. The very night he arrives, they agree that he's the one. And the very next morning, they start seducing him.

Dream makes a full spread of breakfast and insists that Hob not even lift a finger except to enjoy his food. The whole time he gets Hob talking about college, about how he wishes he had more time to study, and how he desperately wants to make everyone proud. Dream has to bite his tongue - he's so close to throwing Hob over the table and fucking him senseless. But not yet.

Because Calliope asks Hob to drive her into town, which he eagerly agrees to do. Anything to help his kind hostess! She ends up bringing Hob to a highend spa, and insisting that he join her. It's no trouble, he can use the family membership. And oh, it's wonderful to see the sweet boy relax as he's massaged, manicured and oiled up.

Hob returns home with Calliope is a daze of warmth and delight. When Dream sits beside him on the sofa and Calliope joins them to sandwich him in, poor Hob is so cute and flustered. But as soon as Dream grasps the back of his neck, Hob melts and sinks into Calliope's arms. He's so sweet and needy, it's incredibly easy to give him what he wants. And he follows orders so nicely, always so eager to please. He's just the perfect little puppy.

Thankfully Orpheus is out with some local friends, so he doesn't see or hear any of Hob’s afternoon of pleasure in his parents' bed! But the new tryad won't stay a secret for long. Hob is already addicted to having Dream and Calliope's attention on him, and there's no way he'll be able to hide how horny he is...

It is a little unfortunate that Hob stumbles into the kitchen wearing Dream’s shirt and a pair of Calliope's panties - and comes face to face with his Orpheus. But hey. When your parents are THAT hot, you just have to learn to accept these things!

got most of the way through sketching out a fun Dream x Hob x Calliope headcanon and then realized that the way I was framing it didn’t make ANY sense given the timeline of the show 🙃🙃🙃

I had Morpheus freeing Calliope several months before he meets Hob at the New Inn, which is not how it happens. but I want Hob/Calliope to start developing a relationship before Dream pops up again (and starts hardcore flirting with Hob). so do I fudge the timeline and pretend things actually happened in a different order? or do I make Dream/Hob wayyy more slow-burny than I was planning so it develops alongside Hob/Calliope? I think the second choice would ultimately be better/more interesting, but def harder to write. (fwiw I feel like Calliope/Dream is kind of a given because they’re obviously still so hot for each other in a divorced way, so I’m less worried about that and more concerned with Hob feeling torn between his two lovers.)

also this is totally a moot point because while I love sketching out stories in my head, I can! not! concentrate! enough to write them! so between this and the Dreamling Jane Eyre AU and the actual stories I’ve actually been trying to actually write, it’s extremely unlikely that anything will be finished ever!!

Ok, I know there are fics where Hob rescues Calliope...But I REALLY want to see a fic where, after he rescues her, she offers him some kind of boon. Hob finds out she is a Goddess and his request is to be friends. He explains his own immortality and how he is lonely because the only other immortal he knows (who he is in love with), he only sees every 100 years and didn't show up to their last meeting due to a fight. Her and Hob become friends and commiserate on their love lives (Hob being in love with his Stranger and Calliope still being in love with her Ex) without REALIZING it's the same person. Eventually they fall into their own romance/FWB situation, completely understanding that part of the others heart belongs to that other person. Then, Dream escapes and shows back up. Hob tells him about her without actually saying her name, and Dream in turns ends up telling him about his own Ex. Dream feels jealous (without realizing it maybe?) But the conversation prompts him to visit Calliope to make amends. He finds out she has a lover now, but she never says it's Hob, and resolves to be a good friend to her. Hob and Calliope commiserate about their other person showing up and end up deciding that they are fine simply remaining friends, and make plans to help each other as a wingman/wingwoman. Except when the first plan is put into action, Dream shows up and they both realize it's the SAME PERSON. Hob and Calliope sit there panicking and Dream is confused before realizing they must be the lovers the other was referring to. Dream leaves the meeting feeling conflicted that the 2 people he loves have forsaken him for each other, and happy that 2 of the people he loves most have found happiness in each other. Hob and Calliope proceed to have a freak out together before realizing they don't have to lose each other, they can just BOTH seduce Dream. (I like the idea of their freak out being in public and a bystander just interrupting with "you know...poly relationships are a THING"...and maybe thay bystander is Desire in discuise *evil cackle*) Thus begins their attempt to seduce the IDIOT they are both in love with while Dream tries his best to not let his own feelings break up his friends relationship. Probably takes them practically jumping him at the same time for him to FINALLY UNDERSTAND. And the story ends with Hob/Dream/Calliope all being happy together.
