Steve Harrington Dating a Henderson!Reader - 2
headcanons
Tumblr media
summary: more about what it’s like to date steve as a henderson sister
pairing: steve harrington x fem!reader (henderson!reader)
WARNINGS: swearing, brief mentions of sex
note: i just did some quick headcanons for this but if you’d like to see a longer fic of steve with a henderson!reader let me know !! these are my absolute favorites to write :)
The day Dustin finds out you and Steve are dating is arguably the best day of his life.
“Oh my god I knew it! I can’t believe you two shitheads actually kept this from me! This is the best day of my entire life.”
From then on, Dustin insists on coming with you to see Steve at least once a week (sometimes more).
Steve loves Dustin so he really doesn’t mind at all for Dustin to tag along on a few date nights.
You and Steve babysit Dustin together !! Although Dustin prefers the term “hanging out” inside of babysitting.
Steve always brings two movies with him from Family Video on these nights. He brings one for the two of you to watch with Dustin (usually a comedy or an action movie) and then other for the two of you to watch after Dustin goes to bed.
“Okay, I’m going to bed. I better not hear any weird noises. We all like to use that couch, you know.” “Dustin!”
Your mom loves Steve. She invites him to dinner twice a week.
You would never tell either of them, but you’re secretly really thankful that Steve and Dustin are such good friends. You don’t think you’d ever be able to date someone who didn’t like your brother.
“Y/N, it’s my turn to hang out with Steve!” “He’s literally my boyfriend, Dustin.” “I don’t care, I knew him first.”
Dustin is your biggest supporter. Between Dustin and Robin, you don’t think you could ever break up with Steve. It would break their hearts.
Dustin begs to teach you and Steve how to play DnD. You guys eventually cave, but it only lasts for a couple days because you are truly so awful at it.
Steve sneaks in your window some nights, which Dustin thinks is hilarious.
“Dude, use the front door?” “No, it’s more romantic this way.”
Steve gives Dustin girl advice and Dustin really tries to follow it. He wants his relationship with Suzie to be just like your relationship with Steve.
Dustin looks up to both of you so much. He really thinks that you’re the coolest people in the world.

Imagine Eddie noticing you protect Dustin.
my first time writing eddie. definitely chickened out. i’ll definitely write more of our treasured rockstar in the future. warnings: bullying, public humiliation, dustin’s beautiful little smile.  requested by: @siouxxiie! thank you for being so patient, i hope you enjoy this <3 written by: archie support me on ko-fi!
Perhaps it was your bad mood after that quiz. Or perhaps the November weather was getting to you and absolutely ruining your patience for people.
But honestly, you were sick of it. You were fresh into Hawkins High this semester, and had already seen your fill of bullies to last a lifetime. You weren’t about to let them pick on this boy.
He was smaller with big hair, had this utterly endearing face that instantly brought your protective streak to the surface in full force, and you knew his taller, lanky friend wasn’t about to do shit.
“HEY!”
Your feet lead you over there before your mind even realised.
You stepped between the kid and the duo of bullies in the cafeteria queue, your own tray long forgotten on some table as you steadied your glare on this larger boy, who instantly seemed to shrink. “You think you’re a big guy, huh? Gonna pick on freshmen to impress your buddy? Wow, yeah. Super impressive.”
You raised a hand, light fingertips barely coming into contact with the bully’s front. You didn’t even need to push him. Not even an ounce of pressure and he stepped back, eyes wide.
You must’ve been scarier than you meant, but that was nothing to complain about, and you weren’t gonna reel your mouth in until the point was driven home.
“It’s not so hot to pick on freshmen for your lunch money. You need charity? You need a hand?” You leaned into his space and raised a brow, not even phased by how he gawked. “It’s nothing to be ashamed of, you know. A ‘please’ goes far.”
You knew everyone was looking. And perhaps, just perhaps, it wasn’t a good idea to humiliate him in such a way, but your day had been bad enough, and you’d seen enough bullies for your whole life. If one dose of public humiliation would tone down the cruelty average in the school, your current mind had decided it was worth it.
You made the final blow, and dug your hand into your pocket. “A dollar fifty, right?”
A guffaw of impressed laughter from behind you. That smaller kid was loving this.
“N-no, don’t worry about it,” the bully stuttered, taking a step out of the line.
You shook your head. “No, really,” you soothed, but there was a bite to your tone. “If you’re that desperate that you gotta steal from kids, I’m happy to help.”
The bully turned quickly, almost tripping over the supporting goon stood behind him. “Fuck that,” was all you heard as he departed without even looking back, and he must’ve felt the holes your glare burnt into his back.
The lunch hall eased back into a hubbub of conversation again once the doors closed behind him, and you turned to the kid you were protecting.
The cutest, brightest smile you’d ever seen shone up at you, and it was all instantly worth it. “Sorry,” you grimaced, “That was more dramatic than I meant. I had a bad--”
“Are you kidding? That was awesome.” Something about this boy just utterly melted your heart, and the steam finally stopped pouring out of your ears.
“Awesome works, but I’d say… That’s some solid chaotic good.” A figure emerged beside you. A guy you’d seen in a couple of your classes, shaggy hair and a devilishly proud grin. “You saved the lambs. Ditch your friends and sit with us today, Bo Peep.”

Dialogue for Eddie falling for Dustin's older sister, please? Thanks! ❤️
aahh yeees Eddie with Henderson!reader ❤️
You walked over to the theatre room where you knew the Hellfire Club gathered and you knocked on the door a little nervous. You smiled at the guy who opened the door for you even if he looked confused.
"Um, hi" you said, kindly when he didn't say anything.
"Who are you?"
"Oh, sorry, I'm looking for-"
"Hey, Gareth, who's at the-" you felt even more nervous when Eddie Munson stepped over to the entrance and looked at you. "Door" he finished, smirking at you. "You lost, princess?"
"Uh- I um, n-no" you chuckled nervously. "I was uh l-looking for Dustin" you said. "Henderson" you added when they didn't reply anything.
"May I ask what does a beautiful lady like you want with Henderson?" Eddie smiled, crossing his arms in front of his chest and you admired his tattoos.
"Um, he's my brother" you told him as if it was obvious and his smile dropped.
"Wait, you... you're Henderson's sister?"
"Y-yeah" you said, feeling your cheeks burning. "I mean we have the last name and all" you chuckled quietly.
"How did I not know this?" he asked, a bit upset.
"Um- well, I don't know" you laughed. "Probably because Dustin-"
"Hey!" you turned around to see Dustin walking down the hall with Mike and Erica. "What are you doing here?" he said, pulling you away from the entrance.
"I was looking for you. You left this in the car and I didn't know if it was important for your game" you said, handing him the book. "Also you left the snacks we bought for your friends" you said, sweetly. "Hi Mike, hi Erica" you smiled at them.
"Hi" they both replied, happily.
"Okay, thank you for the book and the snacks" Dustin said, grabbing them from you. "You can leave now-" he said, trying to pull you away.
"Hey, hold on, Henderson" Eddie said, running over to block your way. "Don't be rude. Your sister was kind enough to bring snacks, I mean the least we can do is invite her in" he said, smiling flirty at you and you giggled shily.
"NO!" Dustin quickly said. "I m-mean she has better things to do than-"
"Well, actually I was just going to wait for you, reading my book in the car" you told him.
"Oh no, we can't allow that" Eddie said, grabbing your hand and pulling you to him.
"But she doesn't even play!" Dustin complained.
"Well, even better" Eddie said, bringing your hand to his lips. "You can lead the campaign with me, princess" he said.
"No!" Dustin complained.
"Really?" you asked, feeling butterflies in your stomach at the way Eddie was looking at you.
"Of course" he insisted.
"Sure, that sounds like fun" you admitted.
"Perfect" Eddie said, pulling you inside the room.
"You know how you tried to hide the fact that you had a sister from Eddie so he wouldn't date her?" Mike asked Dustin, who was still looking your way as Eddie brought you to his seat and introduced you to the rest of the guys.
"Yeah" he said, annoyed.
"I don't think it worked" Mike said, making Erica laugh and Dustin punched him in the arm.
"You think?!"

The Favorite Harrington // Dustin Henderson Headcanon
Tumblr media
masterlist | oneshots
Dustin became close to you the minute he became friends with Steve
you were a sweet and kind girl, one that would never hurt a fly unless you had to
he grew a massive crush on you, i mean massive
he had this thing where if Steve was somewhere, he was there just to see you
you were younger than Steve, but still older than Dustin and found his crush to be really sweet
“Why can’t I take you out on a date?” Dustin whined.
“Because you’re thirteen, Dusty. Maybe if I was your age, sure.” You winked walking away from the blushing boy.
it was fun messing with him, but assured him that you did love him, but like a little brother
you actually helped him get with Suzie. their relationship is the cutest and you definitely cheered them on
you aided help throughout every fight they’ve been in
from Demogorgon to Mind Flayer to Vecna
just like Steve, you were a proud parent of the kiddos that you babysat and would risk your life for theirs, which you almost did
“Why the hell would you do that!? You could’ve died, Y/N!” Steve grabbed your shoulders shaking you.
“I did it to save them!” You pointed to the gang. “Can’t you see you’re not the only one that protects them.”
not only were you a fan favorite from Dustin, you also were from El, Mike, Will, Lucas, and Max
you called them your children and was deemed the “Queen of Babysitting”
“The best babysitter crown goes to...” the kids drum rolled. “Queen Y/N!”
Steve was sooo jealous that he stopped complaining about being the “Babysitter” for a month
“I love you, you little shit.” you chuckled at Dustin walking away.
“Your sister is my favorite Harrington. Sorry, Steve.” Dustin patted his friends back while Steve swatted his hand away.

"Dustin? What's wrong?" Steve asked as soon as the curly-haired boy closed the door.
Dustin wiped his eyes on the sleeve of his blazer and looked up at Steve. "Can you take me home?"
Steve was taken aback by the voice crack of his little brother... er... best friend and leaned on the console. "What?"
"Steve please take me home," Dustin practically begged.
"Why?" Steve asked, concerned for his friend. "What happened?"
Dustin sniffed and hunched over, holding his head in his hands. "It's like the Snowball," He summarized. "Except now it would be embarrassing if a chaperone danced with me instead of cool." He said, running his tongue over his teeth. He had no idea why he was feeling like this but Dustin hated it.
A lot.
Steve put his hand on Dustin's shoulder, attempting to be supportive. "Hey Dustin, man. You can't go home, it's barely been ten minutes," He tried reasoning.
Attempted support.
"All my friends have people to dance with and no one will even look at me." He told Steve loudly, his voice cracking once more.
"Dustin, that's their loss." Steve encouraged. "You're a good kid alright? Nice hair. Great suit. You look like a million bucks."
Dustin looked mildly amused. "Are you seriously recycling a speech right now?" He asked, trying to suppress a laugh.
Steve gripped the back of Dustin's neck and patted his chest before Steve told him the plan. "I have tissues in the glove box, you're gonna wipe your tears, you're gonna go in there and be yourself and have fun."
"But Steve-" Dustin tried, curling his finger back into his fist when Steve shut him down.
"No."
Dustin grabbed the tissues from in front of him and cleaned his face just as Steve had told him to.
"Now go in there and have fun! You'll regret it if you don't," Steve said. He felt like a dad but didn't know how else to get Dustin back inside.
"Steve-uh!" Dustin complained.
"Dustin-uh!" Steve mocked back.
"Fine I'll go."
Dustin had walked back into the Hawkins High gym and saw you in your pretty dress on the bleachers. It hurt his heart. You were so pretty but you just looked so... sad.
He walked up to you and waved, speaking up when he realized you weren't paying attention to him. "Hey."
You jumped and looked up at Dustin. "Hi."
Dustin bounced on the balls of his feet and tried to think of something to say that wasn't stupid. "Havin' fun with the- uh- chips?"
Tried to think of something.
"Oh yeah." You nodded sarcastically. "Best friends." You smiled shyly.
"I'm Dustin." He introduced with a smile. You're so funny...
"Yeah, you're in my math class." You reminded him. "You ask me for a pencil everyday."
"Oh my gods I am so sorry." Dustin panicked, mentally slapping his forehead. "That's embarrassing, can't believe I didn't recognize you."
"At least you're not treating me as invisible. My best friend and her boyfriend are making out in the bathroom right now, definitely pretending I don't exist because why wouldn't they."
Dustin finally sat down next to you on the bleachers. "I know how you feel. All my friends have dates and they're off on their own."
"I haven't even been here five minutes and I wanna go home." You replied, putting your elbow on your knee and resting your head in your hand.
Dustin smiled and suppressed a laugh. He felt the same way. "I just came from my friends car trying to convince him to take me home." He nodded thoughtfully. "He wouldn't. No matter the convincing and telling him I'm reliving the Snowball."
"Snowball?" You turned to look at him with a puzzled look.
Dustin looked equally puzzled. "Yeah from 8th grade?"
"I wasn't here then. I'm from Indianapolis, just came around my sophomore year," You explained.
Dustin's puzzled expression quickly morphed into an ecstatic one. "Whoa! That's so cool!"
"I know!" You responded happily. "I miss home but it's... good for me to be here or whatever," You huffed playfully.
"You're, uh, gods..." He struggled, trying to think of your name. "Mel? No not Mel. Gwe- Gwen doesn't sound right either," He groaned.
"It's (Y/N)." You giggled.
Dustin pointed at you and nodded exaggeratedly. "Yes, that."
"It's been nice talking to you," You told Dustin sincerely, getting up from your spot. "But I think I'm gonna go to my friends car and run her gas out trying to keep myself warm."
A slow song came on and Dustin had a light bulb moment. "Before you go how about just one dance? Then we can say we danced with someone to our friends if they ask and we can feel better about ourselves?" He suggested, trying not to sound nervous.
"Alright."
After your dance you and Dustin came up with the bright idea to get a snack from around town in your fancy outfits.
Steve saw Dustin and was ready to take him home when he realized he was laughing... with a girl. He decided to not ruin that for Dustin.
Dustin needed a night of laughter with a girl, according to Steve. For his self-esteem.
But Steve knew it wasn't a self-esteem thing. You two seemed to click even though he couldn't see you two that well.
He knew he'd be seeing you around with the party for a long time.

You smiled softly, looking around the Hawkins Middle School gym. Will Byers had found himself someone to dance with, Max had pulled Lucas onto the dance floor, Mike and Eleven had also found themselves a place in the crowd. Then there was Dustin who was left looking around like a lost puppy.
You frowned at the sight, Watching as he got rejected by everyone he asked. You poured a last cup of punch, passing it off to a random kid you didn't know before looking over to Nancy, smiling as you watched both her and Jonathan joke around.
You looked around the room once again, eyes landing on Mike and Eleven. You smiled, waving at the young girl when you made eye contact. She smiled back waving before her attention went back to Mike. You continued looking around, remembering the first time you attended the snow ball. You were much like Dustin, left without a date, You even remember and cringe at the fact you had to awkwardly dance with Steve due to your parents not wanting you anywhere near boys.
"Yn"
"Hey"
"Hello"
"Yn"
The young boy sighed, staring at you zoned out, he pulled lightly at your dress, watching you jump. "Huh?" you questioned, looking down, relaxing, seeing Dustin holding a playful annoyed expression. "Sorry, Henderson." you pouted, going to pour him a cup. "No, I don't want a drink."
You stopped, tilting your head. "Then what would you like?"
He took a breath, looking over to where Jonathan and Nancy stood, then back to you. "To dance" he mumbled, looking down to the floor. "What?" you questioned, not hearing what he had said.
"Would you like to dance with me?" he asked, looking up to you with hopeful eyes. "I'd love to, Dustin." you smiled, taking his outstretched hand, following him to the dance floor.
You both began swaying back and forth. It was a peaceful quietness between you two for a few moments, before you spoke up. "Wanna hear something embarrassing?"
"What?" the young boy questioned, tilting his head. A small smile came to your face. "The first time I attended this. My parents made me dance with Steve. I was the loser dancing with her brother."
"You're lying," Dustin's eyes widened. "You're lying, That has to be a joke, It's a joke right?"
"I wish it was.' You pouted, chuckling softly as Dustin twirled himself around your arm. "Well now you're the cool cheerleader dancing with the loser middle schooler." he frowned, leaning into you. "Hey, Girls this age are dumb, But give them a few years, and they'll wise up." you smiled, looking down at him. "You'll have them pawning over you in no time."
"You really think so?" he asked, smiling widely. "I know so."
He smiled even wider if that was even possible, pulling you into a hug. You hugged back, rubbing his back, Looking over to your friends who were smiling just as wide. "You're the best dance date ever." Dustin mumbled, pulling away, taking your arm. "Now let's go take a photo."

------------
You entered the cafeteria, scanning across the crowd. The same people sitting in the same spots as usual. The white and green uniforms showed through the crowd like the north star at night. You fidgeted with your fingers, biting your lip nervously taking in the different groups.
Today was full of nerves. The fact the championship basketball game was tonight had your table filled with tension that could be sensed where you remained, across the room. To be honest you really didn’t want to go. You were happy for the guys, really. It was great they made it this far. It was just… you didn’t really like basketball. It was the main reason why you did cheerleading in the fall during football season. You made the executive decision in August that at the beginning of your freshman school year would be spent on the sidelines of a field for hours rather than spent durring the winter and spring in a small space on the gym bleachers every Friday and any other time needed.
Your attention was broken as someone jumped up onto one of the lunch tables. Shouting across the room. Jason suddenly stood up making your eyes fall to him. He said something you couldn’t hear. Your sight fell to your shoes, bringing a hand up to your mouth to nervously bite your nail.
So here you were; thinking of an excuse on how to get out of going to the game tonight. You doubt blaming it on sickness would work as that's what you used last time. Or saying you had to babysit with the fact you know most of the people at that table knew you hated children. With their sticky hands and grubby faces. And you couldn’t say that you had plans with a friend for the fact all of them were already booked to go to the game tonight.
Sighing in defeat you dragged your shoes across the floor’s tile. The amount of looks you received was enough for you to accept that you would have to face an endless amount of time tonight witnessing boys passing balls back and forth to one another. Looking up you met Chrissy’s eyes. A smile finding its way to her face as she raised a hand to usher you over. You gave a meek one in return picking up your pace to take your spot next to her.
“It’s not that we want to postpone it. It’s just that most of the subs will be at the championship game.” You stopped in your place overhearing a conversation as you passed by. Was this… your opportunity. Had grace from whatever gods that existed decided to shine down on you; to support your hatred for basketball. You tapped your foot pondering if you should approach them. I mean you didn't even know what they needed a sub for. A game night? Gambling? Some satin ritual that needed a certain amount of people to be successful with it?... Eh you could deal with worse.
You turned to your left, placing your hands rather roughly on the edge of the table. Making you wince slightly as the group's attention snapped to you. You let out a meek ‘sorry.'
“I heard you needed a sub,” you stated, looking across the individuals. Taking in their matching Hellfire Club t-shirts. You furrowed your brows, the name seemed familiar. Your eyes widened as you recalled Jason talking about them once. “DnD right?” you questioned.
The guys just kind of stared at you while you stood there awkwardly, waiting for a response.
“Y-yeah,” one of them stuttered out. You turned to the voice, gaze falling on his curly hair. Dropping it to your face you met the eyes of Dustin Henderson. Someone who was in your intro to chem, math, and english class. A smile broke out on your face as you rushed to the spot empty next to him. Sitting down at the table you brushed your arm against Dustin’s, giving him a light smile.
“I know how to play. My dad taught me when I was like 12. I’m a little rusty but I swear I can do it.” Nobody made a sound as you frantically searched each of their faces for some kind of answer. Turning to who you were pretty sure was Eddie Munson, the guy who was struggling to graduate. You were getting desperate at this point. “Please, I don't want to go to the game tonight. If I don’t have an excuse to tell Chrissy, she’ll make me go and I cannot handle another game of boys shooting balls into holes.”
Gareth let out a snort, covering his mouth in his hand as he turned away to compose himself.
“Aren't you literally a cheerleader?” Mike asked, you gaze went him.
“Yeah but that’s for football. This is basketball. I can stand being on the side of the field, but being in the stuffy gym for hours watching people move back and forth in less than a 100 foot space? I’d rather not.”
“Isn’t it basically the same thing? In football they go back and forth the whole time.” You rolled your eyes.
“This is off topic, that’s not the point, can I join or what?” Turning away from Mike you looked back at Eddie with a raised brow. He leaned forward in his seat, a smile growing on his face.
“Absolutely not.”
“You did ask for a sub,” Dustin stated, “This is the sub.” You pointed at Dustin, nodding with his statement.
“This is Hellfire club. Not some excuse for you to be able to cancel some plans.” You raised your hands up defensively.
“Hey man, if that’s how you view it, fine. But, I bet that you’ll struggle to find somebody…” You motioned your finger in a circle, “In this place that knows what the heck they’re getting into..” Some quiet ‘ooohs’ were heard amongst the group. Eddie snapped to them, shutting Gareth and Jeff's mouths. Eddie pushed himself out of his seat, taking a spot to the right of you. He bent his head down to your level.
“What’s your class?” he questioned, “Level one dwarf?” Another sound of commotion came from the boy. You gave him a light smirk.
“I’m called Lady Applejack, thanks. Who’s a level-14, chaotic good half-elf rogue and can sneak up behind any monster that you throw my way. And stab them with a smile as I watch them die a slow, agonizing death,” you ended your sentence in a deathly whisper. You tilted your head to the side. “So are you gonna let me join or are we just going to keep chatting away?” Eddie was silent for a moment, his brows furrowed. Before standing up straight and holding out his hand.
“Welcome to the Hellfire club,” he replied. A smile broke out on your face as you grabbed it, shaking it gently.
“Okay, so the campaign starts at four. In case you have anything you need to get, you got enough time to do so,” Dustin explained as the two of you walked to English together after the lunch bell. “It’s going to go on for a while so make sure you tell whoever that you’ll be home late.” You nodded, approaching your locker quickly grabbing some items you needed for your next class. Dustin stood next to you and suddenly went quiet. You pulled out a folder as you looked over at him.
“Anything else?” You took in his expression. “What?”
“It’s just,” he paused, “You were the last person I expected to actually like DnD.” You let out a snort.
“Even Jason came before me?” He pondered the thought.
“Second to last person to expect.”
“Or Jarry Theft.”
“Third-”
“Or Francis Finch.”
“Fourth-”
“Or-” Dustin waved around his hands, cutting you off while you chuckled.
“Fine, whatever, you were like the… twenty second to last person I expected.” You rolled your eyes playfully, shoving a loose binder back on a shelf and closing your locker with a slam. You let out a sigh.
“I get it,” you stated, continuing your way down the hall, “I’m not the most passionate about the subject. But that doesnt mean I don’t like it. I don’t really have anyone to play DnD with. I mean I knew you guys played it but-”
“Didn’t want to hang out with the freaks,” Dustin once again stopped you. You looked over at him.
“It’s not really that per say. Jason really doesn’t like you guys. He would most likely pull Chrissy away from me if I did approach your club,” you tried to explain.
“What about now?” You shrugged, huffing.
“If Chrissy does let him do that, so be it. The more I think about it, the more I don’t think she will allow it. I mean soon as school started we clicked. She’s one of the sweetest girls I know. I have no idea how Jason pulled her, but I know the fact of how she and I get along will play a factor in it.” You nudge your shoulder with his, “Plus you guys seem cool and not like the satanic worshipers the school has made you out to be.” Dustin winced.
“Was that supposed to be a compliment?” You let out a laugh as you approached the classroom door.
“It sounded better in my head,” you replied. You paused in front of the desks, turning to face Dustin. “Do you want to come over to mine after school?  To help see what I’ll need?” He blinked at you, slightly talking aback by the request.
“I-I mean, sure I guess.” You smiled at him.
“Cool, I'll meet you by the flagpole?” He nodded watching as you separated from him to make your way to your seat. Dustin’s eyes watched as you walked away. Snapping himself out of his gaze before going to his own.
The final bell of the day rang. You packed up your items from your desk. Following the other kids into the hallway. People stood next to you shoulder to shoulder, walking robotically down the halls. All with the same mind set of getting the hell out of here.
You pushed your way lightly through to get to your locker. Opening the lock and door, you placed a folder on the shelf and grabbing your backpack. Out of the corner of your eye you saw someone lean onto the locker next to yours.
"Are you coming to the game tonight? You never gave me a proper answer," Chrissy asked, her voice soft like usual. You smiled sheepishly looking over to her.
"I actually have plans with a couple people," you replied. She furrowed her brows.
"Who?" You bit your lip.
"Dustin Henderson and some of his friends." Her eyes widened excitedly before leaning closer to you. She spoke in a whisper,
"Didn't you say you liked him last year?" You sighed jokingly, shutting your locker.
"Yeah, but that was last year. It was just a little thing after a project we had to work on that's all."
"Just a little thing?" Chrissy scoffed playfully. " If I recall, you said it lasted from when you danced at the Snowball to spring break."
"Like I said a little thing. We barely even talked after the dance," you said between giggles. She linked her arms with your as you directed her towards the exit. You walked through the doors, continuing down the sidewalk. Someone called her name from behind the two of you. Looking over your shoulder you saw the voice belonged to… Jason. He waved you guys over. You turned to face Chrissy.
"I'm meeting him at the flagpole," you briefly explained to her, pulling away. She nodded, pulling you back in for a quick hug.
"Have fun," she said with a smile. You returned it.
"Yeah, you too." She gave you a squeeze on the shoulder, walking back to join Jason. He peered over Chrissy to stare at you. You have an awkward wave. He gave one back, gaze lingering on you as Chrissy approached.
"Where's she going?" Jason asked. Chrissy looked back at you, seeing your back as you headed in your own direction.
"She has plans tonight," she simply stated.
"With who?"
"A boy." A light smile fell onto her features. Jason furrowed his brows.
"Actually?" Chrissy nodded. Jason looked back up to see you were no longer in sight. "Huh, didn't think she would ditch you for anyone." Chrissy shrugged.
"It's okay. I knew she'd find someone, sometime this year."
Your feet walked across the concrete. Turning the corner to see Dustin, hands in his pockets scanning the area. His eyes landed on you, his face lighting up. You smiled.
"Hi," he greeted.
"Hey," you replied back, placing your hands on the straps of your bag. "My house is just a five minute walk from here," you informed, looking left and right on the street. He stood next to you waiting for the signal to cross the road. Both of you lightly jogged across and once again found yourself on a sidewalk.
"Do you usually walk?" Dustin questioned.
"Mhm." You nodded.
"Even in the winter?"
"Depends on the weather. If it's a snow storm I have someone usually drive me to and from," you explained. Silence passed over the two of you. You took a left, Dustin following.
"Who drives you?" Dustin asked, trying to keep the conversation going.
"Usually one of my parents in the morning but they couldn't really do it after with work and all. Jason did it after practice if it was really bad outside. Which was probably like five times." Dustin furrowed his brows.
"Didn't I have to give you a ride with Steve or something last winter? When we had that science project?" You stuttered a breath at the memory. An anxious chuckle left you.
"Yeah, that was a bad day. I swear I thought he was going to crash." Dustin laughed.
"He nearly hit a fire hydrant on his way back over when he came to pick me up." You giggled. Another beat of silence passed by, Dustin broke it once again.
"You know we never really talked about the snowball. I didn't get to thank you for the dance," he mumbled, bumping his shoulders with yours. You kicked a fallen pine cone.
"Ofcourse, I couldn't resist the hair, y'know?" He let out a snort.
"Oh yeah, that was… something."
"Definitely something," you agreed in a fit of giggles. You looked up to see your house come into sight. "It's the third one," you informed him. He hummed in response.
Approaching your driveway you opened the mailbox to check if anything was in it. Taking the few envelopes in your hand you made your way up the lawn. Dustin followed behind you. Going up the steps you opened the front door, keeping it open for the boy behind you. He shut it while you took off your shoes. He did the same, stepping out of them and looking around the space. Not much has changed since he had last been here. Just some furniture pieces in different places.
Dustin noticed you moved down the hall, he took after you. Entering a new room her had not been in.
"This is my dad's office," you explained in a murmur as you searched the area. "He keeps all the DnD books in here." Dustin hummed in response. He took in the rather bland wall paper on three of the walls, while the other was filled with posters. From movies, to bands, to fantasy games, the ultimate nerd wall.
"You said your dad taught you it right?" Dustin asked, taking a closer look at one of the papers.
"Yep," you said looking through a drawer on a desk, "He was a total nerd in highschool. And some of the nerdiness obviously carried into adulthood, cause here we are now," you finished with a grunt pulling out the different binders and books. Searching through them you grabbed the one that suited for the event and went to place it in your bag.
You grabbed Dustin's hand to drag him away from the wall. His eyes widened at your actions, taking a look at your conjoined hands but not pulling away. You made your way into the kitchen, to look through the cupboards.
"Are we going to need any snacks?" you questioned sifting through the different foods.
"I mean if you want you can bring whatever you want. It's gonna take a while for it to finish up so…," he trailed off, leaning against a counter. Dustin peered at you as you scanned the different options. Pulling out some sort of chips that were already eaten  and Oreos. He nodded, solid choices.
Dustin cleared his throat as you placed the foods in your bag with the books, zipping it up and once again placing it on your back.
"Ready?" he asked, straightening his posture. You nodded before following him out the door.
You found yourselves again on the sidewalk, silence casting above the both of you. You sighed lightly, kicking a rock before walking up and continuing to kick it across the concrete. Dustin passed it back to you when it veered off in his direction. Making you smile to yourself lightly.
"Thanks for coming with," you spoke up, attention still on the rock as it ended up in the grass. You frowned slightly then turned to look at Dustin. His gaze met yours.
"Ofcourse it was no problem," he stated. You gave him a great full smile. You took a right watching the school approach slowly.
"Sorry if I suck tonight. It's been like… a year since I last played," you mentioned.
"That's fine, I'm just glad we have you so Eddie isn't on mine and Mike's asses about not having a sub. Then he'd bring up Lucas and blah blah blah," he dismissed with a wave of his hand. "And you'll do good, don't worry about it. Even if you do mess up a little bit it's not like we're gonna kick you out or anything. Just do your best, that's all that could be asked of you." The two of you paused waiting for a car to pass. You looked over at Dustin as he turned to you giving a reassuring smile.
"You're just as I remember you Henderson," you spoke in a whisper. "Always the sweetest guy around." A blush settled itself lightly on his cheeks as he scratched the back of his neck.
"Well I wouldn't say sweetest but-"
"Take the compliment," you laughed, pushing his shoulder lightly.
"Just a heads up, all that I just said could be a lie. Depending on how into it Eddie gets," he mentioned. You let out another chuckle, once again taking his hand to pull him to cross the street.
"Well at least you gave me a heads up," you replied opening the school doors, yanking him inside in the process
The lighting was rather dramatic. A red hue casting along everyone's bodies. Candles lit across the table. It was nearing the end of the campaign, you could feel it. The question was; will it be a good or bad ending?
“The hooded cultist chant, “Hail Lord Vecna.’” Eddie looked among the group with a dangerous gaze. “‘Hail Lord Vecna,” he repeated. You slowly bit onto a chip, the crunch breaking the silence. “They turn to you, remove their hoods. You recognize most of them from Makbar. But there is one you do not recognize, his skin is shriveled…” Eddie turns sharply to Jeff, “..desiccated. And something else. He is not only missing his left arm, but his left eye.” Eddie covers his own, rising from his seat, as the group bursts with complaints. You threw your hands up in defeat as the others slammed theirs on the table. You put your head in your hands.
“Vecnas dead,” Jeff exclaimed.
“He was killed by Kas,” Mike added.
“So it was thought my friends, so it was thought. But Vecna lives,” Eddie informed, putting a little Vecna man on a throne. “You are scared, you are tired, you are injured. Do you flee Vecna and his cultists? Or do you stand your ground and fight?” Eddie asks to take his seat once more. Everyone's brows furrowed in thought. “Come on,” Eddie coaxed.
“I saw we fight,” Dustin stated, “To the death.”
“To the death,” Mike agreed. You nodded.
“To the death.” Everyone began hitting the table in sync chanting, ‘To the death!’
You anxiously held the dice in your hand before deciding it was now or never. You quickly rolled them and as the numbers revealed, the group cheered.
Mike's turn came, only his roll knocked him down.
Then came Jeff and he followed Mike. Back and forth it when, offense and defense knocking each other down. The stakes grew higher as the end grew near.
“Guys, I hate to say this, but we’ve got to flee,” Gareth stated, as you guys were huddled together.
“I concur.”
“Did we not just say it was ‘to the death?’” you asked sarcastically.
“That wasn’t literal,” Gareth seethed.
“Vecba just decimated us,” Jeff informed,” We can’t kill him with two players.” You looked over at Dustin.
“You too? He only has 15 hit points left. Don’t be pussies,” he replied.
“Pussies? Really? Cause we’re not delusional?” Gareth shot back. You spoke up.
“Delusional? How about not being a coward.”
“Hey!” Eddie called from behind you, “If I may interject, gentlemen, Lady Applejack. Whilst I respect the passion, you’d be wise to take Gareth the Great’s concern to Heart. There is no shame in running,” he insisted. “Don’t try to be heroes. Not today, ‘kay?”
Dustin held up a finger.
“One Sec,” he turned back to the group, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and mikes, beginning the group back down. You leaned into him gently, “What do you think?”
“How many hit points do you and LadyApplejack have left?” Mike asked.
“Twelve,” you both said in unison.
“It’s risky as hell. But you’re the ones on the battlefield. So it’s your call,” Mike replied.
“What do you say, Lady Applejack?” Dustin questioned, turning to you. You gave him a teasing smirk.
“You really gotta ask?” His eyes lingered on you for a moment before looking down at his shoes again. He looked back,
“Screw it.” You and him turned back to Eddie. “Let's kill this son of a bitch.
“The chances are twenty to one,” Eddie mentioned.
“Never tell me the odds. Give me the D20.” Dustin held out his hand, Eddie tossed it to him.
Dustin stood at the end of the table, shaking the dice then releasing it onto the table. Eleven.
“That’s a miss!” Eddie called with a shake of his head. Once again the group erupted in complaints.
Now it was your turn. The last hope of anything good coming out of this. You shook the dice anxiously with both hands, the rest of the individuals stood behind you, cheering you on. You let it roll onto the table.
“Please.”
“Come on!” It rolled across the table, agonizingly slow, taking its time to stop. Only to land on a…
“Crit hit!” you cheered as the die revealed a twenty. Your arms went up into the air as you faced Dustin. Catching him in an embrace as the others were celebrating with each other. Letting go you faced Gareth, giving him a high five. Doing so you missed the stunned look on Dusin’s face.
—
You burst through the doors, everyone still howling with excitement as you exited the school. Everyone went their own ways. And once again you found yourself alone with Dustin Henderson on the sidewalk. You looked over to him, a smile still casting over your face.
“This was the most fun I’ve had…,” you paused, “In a while.” Dustin nodded, making his way down the school’s pathway.
“It was really good and we couldn’t have done it without you Lady Applejack,” he said, bumping his hip with yours. You let a giggle escape you as you cross the street. He turned to you. “Gonna make it home alright?” You nodded.
“Yeah, I’ll be okay.” The two of you were silent for a moment. Gazing into each other's eyes. You looked away shyly, clearing your throat. “I better get going though, don’t want to make my parents worry too much.” Dustin agreed watching as you continued down the street.
You paused mid-step and quickly turned around, making your way back to him. You cupped his face lightly, placing a kiss on his cheek and giving him one last smile.
“Have a goodnight, Dustin,” you whispered lightly, walking backwards. He nodded absent mindedly, trying to come up with anything it responde.
“Y-you too,” he stuttered. You chuckled, facing in front of you again.
Dustin watched you go, a hand coming up to where your lips touched his face. Leaving him stunned on the sidewalk.

hiya :D !! omg we definitely need more dustin content, can you say "love of my life"??😚💘 could you do headcanons of what petnames he'd call his s/o? it's already canon that he's a cheeseball<3
ugh yes!! i love dustybun, he doesn't get any love in this fandom.
so yes as anon says, it is canon that he's a cheeseball
i feel like he would use sarcastic nicknames around your friends
like sugarplum, or cutie patootie.
idk it's just very in character for him i think?
but when it's just you two, he uses serious ones
honey, babe, sweetheart, etc.
heavy on the babe though
"hey babe, how's your day been?" "babe come look at this!" "i'm trying to talk to steve, babe!"
it's just
so dustin
steve definitelyyy makes fun of him for his overuse of nicknames
"you know she has a name right?"
but in all honesty, steves just a proud mom happy to see his son in love. even if it comes at the cost of the annoying nicknames

Your brother’s words echoed in your mind. Jesus Christ, you were screwed, well you and everyone else in Hawkins. It’s such a shame they all fell prey to society’s provocative ideas of high-school students being in an infamous satanist group. If only they knew, Hell Fire had only been a DnD club. Stupid fools, closed-minded fools. If only they had bothered to reach out and step out of that idea, and learn something new like computers. Then, you probably wouldn’t be looking for a hiding, Eddie Munson.
Poor guy.
You were scared that your brother - Steve Harrington - would fall prey to it too. But, thanks to Dustin Henderson he didn’t.
The guy managed to get Steve to tag along in anything. From finding his ‘pet’ Demogorgon, Dart to the Russian conspiracy in star court mall. So this was practically nothing for him.
You remembered, Steve being missing for what felt like a week, and your parents asking about him the night of Billy Hargrove’s death.
The two boys pleaded with you to stay home, and with hesitation you did. Though you regretted every minute of it.
You had learned that Dustin’s so-called ‘girlfriend’ Suzie had saved the day. Max had spilled the beans a month after. You were hurt but didn’t dare show it to anyone.
You knew everyone had kept something hidden from you. You were never one to pry, so you kept quiet. Kept quiet about feeling left out. Kept quiet being in love with your best friend. Kept quiet about your nightmares.
You twiddled with your thumbs, nervously. They were going over the plan to save Hawkins. Nancy had confessed the visions Vecna had shown her.
Too in your thoughts, you had felt the wetness slowly trickling down your nose. Yes, you had been getting these migraines, and visiting the school counsellor, but as always you had been discrete about it.
No one knew, well one person did but she was no longer here.
Nightmares plagued your dreams, of these things.
Not human, but human-like.
Glowing eyes.
Burnt skin.
Flying bat-like creatures.
You couldn’t explain it. Every time you would, your voice would cease. Disappear like it was never there. And you would sit there shocked, by the sudden disappearance.
Helpless and Scared.
Ms Kelly would just wave it off as if you were afraid to open up. But that was the thing, you weren’t. You were trying so hard, yet something was stopping you.
Controlling you.
That was until one day, you bumped into Chrissy in the girl's restroom.
You both had made your way to the skin. You both were in the midst of washing your hands when you heard it.
The chime.
Both your heads snapped in the direction of the noise. And there it sat, perfectly in the wall.
You took a step back, slipping on spilled water on the floor.
You fell to the floor with a thud.
Snapping out of her trance, Chrissy came to your aid.
Despite her attempts to help, you didn’t move a muscle. Your eyes were trained on the sight in front of you.
“You see it too, huh?”
Her voice was barely above a whisper. Her eyes finally came face to face with the sight too.
~Present, 1986~
And who’d a thought, later that day, only one of you would be alive?
Sucking in a breath you left the room.
Hushed whispers could be heard from across the room. Dustin and Lucas silently bickering with each other. Unaware of your sudden disappearance.
“Oh my - would you just tell her already?”
Gasping the curly-haired boy gaped at his friend.
“Oh no. No way man. Steve would kill me.”
Lucas rolled his eyes. This kid had to be an idiot, he thought. Ever since he could remember, Dustin Henderson liked you. The princess of Hawkins. Of course, you earned that title, being Steve’s younger sister and all. Even with him losing his title, you still kept yours.
“Who cares about Steve…what? He’s gonna kill you ‘coz he’s got no love life? Besides, Y/n, wouldn’t let her brother boss her around…she likes you.”
Lucas’ words hit Dustin like a frat train.
She likes you.
She likes you.
Likes you.
Y/n Harrington likes Dustin Henderson.
Eyeing his friend closely, Lucas began to zone out until he felt a painful squeeze on his arm.
“Ouch, hey! Dustin! Jesus Christ, that hurts! DUSTIN?” Tugging his arm away wasn’t working, so he raised his hand and flicked Dustin in the head.
The boy let go but kept his eyes trailed on the sight across the room.
Following, Lucas realised his friends panicked grasped. Your spot was empty.
“Oh shit.”
You sat on the toilet lid, silently. You could hear the chatter from the other room.
You sucked in a breath. The wetness of the blood, still trickling down your nose. You held your hankie gently in the palm.
It was your grandmother’s. How ironic. Right? A token of her love and your good luck charm. You took it everywhere, cheerleader tryouts, dates, exams.
It was magical.
If it had been magical, then how come this time it wasn’t.
You could feel the sting.
Blinking, you focused your attention on the small mirror. You smiled a little, it was cute. Fit perfectly for Eddie’s Uncle’s caravan home. You couldn’t keep doing this, distracting yourself. You needed to come to terms with reality.
Enough, you thought. It’s time to face your fears.
You stood up and made your way to the tiny mirror. And there you were facing the mirror, yet your eyes were trailing the sink. Finding fascination in the grotty-looking drain.
You needed to look up.
Look up.
Look up.
Look.
Up.
Your eyes shot up.
And there you were. Eyes wet with tears and nose and lips red with blood. Stunned, you brought your hand up to your nose. Fingers hovering over the blood. The closer your fingers got the more real this became. Your grandmother’s handkerchief was coated in wrinkles.
Any harder it would mould into your skin. This needed to stop. A quiet sob spilled out of your lips. You would be damned if you let yourself become another victim of Vecna.
You wouldn’t.
You couldn’t.
Gripping the handkerchief harder, you brought it up to your nose. Dabbing the soft material against your skin. The blood coating into the white surface, turning it scarlet.
You’re not victim four.
Dustin scattered up and towards Steve, starling the poor guy.
“Jesus, Henderson!”
“Where’s Y/n?” He stammered.
“What?”
“Where’s Y/n?”
Glancing over where his sister was last seated, the boy’s eyes grew wide.
“Shit!”
Your actions ceased.
The whisper startling you, you pulled back from the mirror.
There it stood.
Tall and ugly.
Oh shit.
“God, no.” tone hushed, quiet as a mouse.
You didn’t know what to do, where to run, how to fight.
It was standing right there. Right behind you. You clutched that handkerchief, with your life.
You closed your eyes and slowly turned around. “This isn’t real. This isn’t real.”
Eyes still closed, you felt him lean forward. Breath fanning your cheek.
“Oh, but Y/n. This is real.” he hissed.
Drawing a sharp claw and gently dragging it along your temple.
“No…no…no, please.”
Eddie came running from his room. “She’s not here dude.”
Pacing back and forward, Dustin pondered. Where the hell could you be?
Lucas, Max and Robin, came bursting through the trailer door.
“She’s not outside. No one has seen her.”
“Shit. Shit. SHIT.” He paced harder.
Glancing around, Max noticed the tiniest bit of light shining from under the bathroom door. “Uh? Did anyone bother to check the bathroom?”
Snapping their heads in the direction of the bathroom they all ran.
Robin stepped forward gently rapping against the closed door.
“Hey, Y/n? Everything okay in there.”
Silence.
Pushing Robin aside, Steve began knocking.
“Hey n/n. It’s me, Steve.”
“Dumbass, of course she would know it’s you.”
Rolling his eyes, he continued.
“Hey come on now? Sis? Y/N?”
Again silence.
Turning around, he gaped.
“She…she…she’s not answering.”
Coming to his aid, Max began banging on the door.
Banging. Twisting the knob. Damn the door was locked.
“Y/N!?”
“Y/N!”
“Hey open up! Come on.”
“SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!” Steve shouted.
“WE’RE TYRING HERE.” Dustin seethed, at the older boy.
Yet on the other side of the door was another story.
“Don’t be afraid… You have nothing to be afraid of.”
Your eyes still sealed shut. His claw ceasing above your brow bone. Causing a shiver to rupture down your spine.
It was poison.
All of this.
The waiting, the silence, the coolness of the air. Hell, it was summer.
“...I’m not…”
Then why couldn’t you open your eyes? The hankie, firmly grasp in your hand.
The hankie.
Your grandmother’s hankie.
“...Good… you’re not number four.”
The hiss of his voice scared yet ceased your fears. Eyes fluttering, you open them. Staring deep into the pools of hell. Or so you thought.
“If we don’t break down the door, we won’t be able to help Y/n.”
Stunned by the boy’s demands Eddie cut in.
"Woah, Woah. There will be no breaking of any doors in this house.”
With that, both Dustin and Steve thrust themselves into the door. With a clang, it fell to the floor. And there you were, eyes rolled back and head up. You had been standing in front of the mirror, scarlet-coated hankie hanging from your fist.
“Oh shit.” Rushing to your side, your brother brought you into his lap. Shaking you. “Come on, hey come on… Guys do something.” Steve cried, looking toward Dustin.
Grabbing your bag they found your walkman.
Leaning forward Dustin reached your head but paused the moment a gasp rang throughout the place.
You gripped onto Steve.
Frantically peering around. All eyes were on you.
The only sound being, the breathing of each and every person.
“Holy shit.”
Your e/c eyes locked with Dustin’s blue ones.
Fear and solace.
Your staring contest was interrupted by your brother.
“Hey. Hey, Y/n. What happened? Are you hurt? Did it touch you? Is that blood?” You smiled at your brother's frantic questions.
“Steve? Steve! I’m okay…just a little dizzy.” Lifting you up he brought you to the couch.
Watching Steve walk off with you, Dustin leaned against the wall. He felt helpless, he should have been your knight and shining armour. Your saviour, but he wasn’t.
Scared like a child.
Fear consumed his whole senses.
“So are you just gonna stand there? Or are you gonna tell her how you feel?”
His eyes shot to the older boy. Eddie had been eyeing the two throughout the whole moment. That and also how the two of you would act around each other at school.
From the constant blushing to the quick eye gazes.
“What! What? We don’t like each other…plus she is popular and I’m… well I’m me…Dustin Henderson, the dork.”
Frantically stepping back, Eddie gaped at the young boy and smiled.
“Uh, I think you’re blind. Dude, have you not seen the way she looks at you… Oh my God… dude… this… I don’t know how to tell you this… would you go over there and just kiss her already.”
Gripping Dustin’s shoulders, Eddie patted his head and forcibly shoved the young boy toward the Harrington siblings.
Noticing this Steve stood up and made his way over to Robin.
Almost collapsing on top of you Dustin, turned back and glared at Eddie. Before trailing his eyes over to you.
“Hi.” He smiled.
“Hi, Dustin.”
You two awkwardly sat with each other in silence.
“OH MY GOD! WOULD YOU TWO JUST CONFESS ALREADY?"
“Eddie! SHUT UP…I’m sorry-”
“You like me?” Your voice was quiet but caught the boy’s ears.
“Uh yeah…I know that’s weird-”
“No. God no…I thought you and Suzie were a thing?”
Eyes wide he stared at you. You had been jealous of a girl like Suzie. No fracking way.
Y/n Harrington; the most popular girl in his year level.
The girl who over-throwned Stacey Albright, and befriended Chrissy Cunningham.
The girl who kicked his ass in DnD.
The girl who outsmarted their year five science teacher.
The girl, who befriended anyone. The girl, who he fell in love with. Was jealous of Suzie.
“Pssh, Suzie… I mean yeah she was nice and all, but she was never you… I thought you liked Tommy Briggs.”
Rolling your eyes, you gave a loud chuckle.
“Oh God no… He’s awful… Yeah I mean he tried, but no... Never… I’ve never liked anyone else… when you asked Stacey to dance at the snowball dance, it killed me… that and your hair…it was… Well, Steve.”
He chuckled along with you. Admiring your smile and how pink your cheeks turned. Locking your eyes, you grasped his hand. You knew what was coming.
You both did.
“Can I…uh… can I kiss you, Y/n?”
Smiling, you pulled him in.
Lips pressing so gently.
Everyone erupted in cheers.
Hearing this Steve peered over to see what all the fuss was about. And he did not like what was seeing.
“HENDERSON!”
“Oh shut up Steve.”

Turtle doves; Eddie Munson x reader
*Author’s note*
Okay in light of the fact that Christmas is just one week away (and that I missed both Halloween and thanksgiving fic ideas I could’ve done), I figured now was the time to do a Christmas theme fic for this beloved metalhead who stole my heart this year. At first I was gonna do a mistletoe one but I’ve been seeing a lot of them lately but after re-watching Home alone 2 and I saw the turtledoves I thought BINGO DING DING DING DING!
Not much warning except maybe some swearing, insecure Eddie and TONS AND TONS of fluff!!!

Up in Indianapolis, the city was bustling with excitement but also chaos because it was that time of the year again, Christmas time.  Hundreds among hundreds of people crammed into the stores to not only get the best deals, but also get the gift before their fellow man can.  The airports packed with families waiting for the arrival of extended family or friends.
“Eddie? Oi Eddie!” Dustin snapped Eddie out of his trance.  Eddie shook his head and looked down at his favorite (even if he thinks he’s a little shit at times) freshman member of his Hellfire club.
“What?”
“You were miles away. Thinking about (Y/n) again?” Dustin teased.  Eddie smacked the boy in the back of his head and said.
“You wish Henderson.”
“You are like bright red in the face right now.” Laughed Dustin.
“Shut your mouth Dustin. That’s your final warning.” But Dustin wasn’t wrong.  He was thinking about said girl, in fact he’s thought about her all year.
Ever since she took that study abroad program for her Animal Biology major in college, she hasn’t had much time to talk with Eddie. Letters were scarce and phone calls were even rarer.  And even though he was happy for her going all around the world studying wild animals, he wished that she wouldn’t be so far away from him all the time.
Eddie Munson and (Y/n) (L/n) had been friends since they met in the 6th grade when Eddie had his bike stolen by some asshole 8th grade jocks and (Y/n) threw sticks at them to get them to retreat. There she shared his first animal facts that chimps in the wild would throw sticks and stones at pythons to dive them away from their territory.
(Y/n) had always loved reading and learning about animals and she dreamed of one day venturing out into the world to study them and see how they behave up close.  That’s why Eddie always called her his venturous She-elf.
When she got to graduate in 84 and he didn’t, it didn’t deter their friendship.  Every weekend and holiday she visited him and would tell him all about how college has been treating her and what she’s learned that she hadn’t before.  But Eddie had been harboring a secret that not even she knew of.
Since the start of their high school years, Eddie had fallen in love with his adventurous Elf.  Not only for her looks but for her passion for what she wanted in life. Like him, she had a goal and she was reaching it, achieving it, and trying to own it.  She was indeed a darer but he feared that if he ever told her how he truly felt, he’d be holding her back.
Hell he couldn’t even graduate from High school, twice! What could he ever offer her?
“Eddie?” Dustin said trying to get his attention.  “You okay?”
“I’m fine. Just wondering what stories she has for us this year.”
“Oh yeah. I hope she brought home some cool souvenirs. Like this one time when her and her family went vacationing in Nepal and she got me this really cool face mask of an elephant. I still wear it to scare Lucas every now and then.”
“Thanks for the leverage Henderson to use against him next time he ditches us for his laundry baskets game.”
“You know I still can’t believe that you and (Y/n) know each other.”
“We do have lives outside of you Henderson, the world doesn’t always revolve around you yah know.” Soon their eyes caught sight of her plane landing and Eddie’s heart started to beat a little faster than normal. As quietly as he could, he took a deep breath before exhaling and they waited a few minutes as the passengers all began to depart the terminal gate.
Soon they spotted a young woman with (h/c) hair and prescription glasses on the bridge of her nose.  She rolled out with her carryon to see two boys holding up a sign that was decorated and spelled out: WELCOME HOME LADY TAURIEL, her D&D’s character name. She smiled and came up to them and first embraced Eddie.
“Well this is a surprise, I thought I’d have to get a cab to your trailer.”
“What and leave you in this craziness by yourself? Absolutely not.” Eddie said as they parted but they both kept their arms around each other just a little bit longer.  Dustin began to notice not only the lingering embrace they were doing, but also the look in both their eyes as they looked at each other.
“So what am I (Y/n)? Chopped liver?” asked Dustin.  The two young adults separated from each other and (Y/n) shook her head.
“You would think all the times I spent babysitting you would mellow you out Henderson, but you’ve gotten an even bigger ego than when I left.” She said.
“It’s his tone right?” Eddie asked her.  Dustin grumbled as he crossed his arms.  (Y/n) shook her head laughing as she walked over to Dustin and embraced him before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“Eww! You know I hate it when you do that!”
“Whatever you little shit. Now let’s get the rest of my bags and back home. Being on a plane for over 24hrs is not as enjoyable as it sounds.”
“Right this way then, Lady Tauriel.” Eddie said with a gracious bow.  They went over to the baggage claim, gathered up all her bags and then headed on out to Eddie’s van to drive back to Hawkins.
It was a bit of a drive thanks to the traffic and the snow starting to fall, but they managed to reach Hawkins safe and sound.  After dropping Dustin back at his place, Eddie and (Y/n) finally arrived at his place.
“You sure it’s okay for me to stay here? Mrs. Henderson offered me one of the spare rooms over at their place.”
“As sweet as the old lady is, how could I live with myself knowing you’d be stuck with Henderson 24/7. Plus I know you do have something for him that he says he’s been dying to see.”
“True. It’s just….I don’t want to run you out of house and home.”
“You aren’t. Besides Wayne’s been asking about you, I swear he loves you more than he does me.”
“Shut up Munson, Wayne loves you with all his heart.”
“Yeah I know. Well let’s get inside before the snow really starts piling up. Weather man’s been saying it’ll be the heaviest snowfall in 10 years.”
“Even though I’ve grown up with Indiana weather, it’s nothing compared to Nepal, or Tibet, or even Antarctica ugh. Never will I go down there again, even if I wanna see the cute penguins. I’ll take the ones in South Africa.”
“There aren’t any penguins in Africa!” Eddie objected as he grabbed one of her suitcases as they both exited the car.
“There are too and I’ve got the pictures to prove it.”
“You do not.”
“I do so!” the two of them continued their playful banter as they unloaded the van and placed all her things in Eddie’s room.  “I’ve noticed you guys decided to do some indoor decorating this year.”
“Yeah. Wayne’s come into some really good money lately, and with some of the paid gigs the band and I have done, we decided why the hell not?”
“So it would seem my own personal Grinch finally found the Christmas spirit again ehh?” she teased as she poked his belly making him curl inward.
“I never lost it!”
“Mm-hmm.” She hummed skeptically.
“That’s it! C’mere!” he lunged at her, the two of them falling onto his bed and he proceeded to tickle her sides making her thrash around in laughter.  “You know I think I finally know where Henderson got his sass from. After all, you’ve known him longer than either Harrington or me. We have you to blame for his behavior.”
“Nohohoht mehehehe!”
“Yes you! Now admit it or the tickling continues.”
“I don’t…..stohahap! Please!”
“Nope. The begging and puppy dog eyes won’t work on me this time.” As (Y/n) continued laughing, a voice soon called out.
“Eddie? You better not be killing someone in there boy.” Eddie was forced to stop as his uncle had arrived home earlier than normal.  He got off of (Y/n) and said in a low, menacing yet playful tone,
“Saved by the old man. But don’t think you’re getting out of this just yet missy.” (Y/n) shoved him back to the bed and Eddie let her do it as she went out and said.
“Sorry Wayne. But if I had to be killed, death by tickles wouldn’t be too bad of a way to go.”
“Well as I live and breathe. Ms. (Y/n) (l/n) back from her time around the world.” (Y/n) smiled and walked over and asked Wayne.
“Permission to hug?”
“Permission granted ma’am.” The two of them embraced each other and after awhile he let her go.  “Bout time you got here, Eddie wouldn’t shut up about how many days left till you arrived.”
“Wayne!” Eddie groaned from his bedroom door. “Why are you home so early? Usually you don’t get off this early unless it’s a holiday and Christmas eve is 2 days away.”
“The weather son. Boss decided it’d be best for us to all head home so that we wouldn’t get snowed in.”
“Well that was nice of him. Oh speaking of which, I have a surprise for you Wayne.” (Y/n) said as she raced back into the bedroom and grabbed both her scrapbook and a neatly wrapped present.  “I was almost worried I wouldn’t be able to give this to you, or see your reaction when you’d open it.”
“Ain’t we supposed to open presents on Christmas though?” he asked her.
“Normally yes but this really isn’t a Christmas present. I saw it when I was in Tanzania and I thought one person had to have it.” Wayne took the box and unwrapped it before opening it up to reveal a beautifully hand-crafted and painted bowl.
The background was painted like the African sunrise with Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background and up front and center was a large African rhino (his favorite animal).
“I know it’s not a mug but it was the closest thing I could find to a cup.”
“Don’t go saying things like that, I love it. Thank you sweetie belle.” He wrapped an arm around her bringing her in for a one armed hug.
“Don’t I get a present too (Y/n)?” asked Eddie.
“Yes but you have to wait until the Christmas eve party at Steve’s. It is still happening there, right?”
“Yeah. You know Harrington.”
“Now go easy on that boy Eddie, sure he may have started off as a jerk to yah but you two really have become good friends thanks to that kid of yours.” Eddie waved it off before going to the kitchen to find himself something to eat.  “So darling, what do you think of the decorations we got up?”
“I love it. I especially like the light up penguins over there by the tree.” She said pointing to the small decorated Christmas tree and by the nightstand stood a lit up penguin lamp.
“Eddie said you’d like it. In fact this was all his idea to begin with that we’d decorate the place special for you.”
“Oi Wayne! Since you’re here how’s about you cook dinner for once instead of having to do fend for yourself night!?” Eddie shouted trying to change the topic.  Wayne rolled his eyes getting the hint of what his nephew’s behavior meant while (Y/n) was left perplexed.
Did—did Eddie feel the same way as she did? Did she hear that right? Or is this just Eddie being Eddie? One thing’s for sure, she was gonna try and tough it out and admit her feelings for her best friend at the Christmas eve party and hope she doesn’t humiliate herself doing it.
Two days later and after clearing up the roads after the snow storm they had when she first arrived, the gang was all gathered at Steve’s place for the party.  Now this party was extra special to the group because throughout the entire party, each guest would present a tradition that was done with their families on Christmas day.
As per Robin’s family tradition, everyone had to come in wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater they could find.  And the first activity was Christmas musical chairs as per Wheeler tradition.  Mike decided to be the DJ and as Chuck Berry’s ‘Run Rudolph Run’ played over the speakers the rest of the gang began to circle around the chairs, and the first one to be out was Steve.
“Wait hold on that’s not fair! Munson kept stopping!”
“Just take the loss with pride Harrington.” Eddie told him. Steve rolled his eyes but took one of the chairs after everyone stood back up and the game resumed.  One by one the rest soon began to fall until the final three came down to Dustin, Eddie and (Y/n).
“Remember, third place gets this giant Hershey’s bar.” Nancy said holding out the fairly large chocolate bar.  A decent prize but it’s nothing compared to the giant family/party size M&M bag that was up for first prize.
The music started up and all three of the remaining players began to fake the other out by either pausing in front of the chairs before moving again, or trying to sit in the chairs while the music was still playing before moving on again.  The song stopped and Eddie and (Y/n) ended up being the final two.
“Aww nice try Dustin but you still get the chocolate bar.” Nancy said.
“That’s fine.” Dustin said taking (Y/n)’s chair away and as Eddie and (Y/n) stood over the final chair, they stared each other down.
“That bag of M&M’s is mine Munson.” Boasted (Y/n).
“Don’t make me laugh (L/n). You know I kill for m&m’s. The only thing you’ll be getting is the three musketeers packet.”
“Alright enough flirting you two, get to walking!” Mike groaned as he started the music back up and the two friends began to battle it out for the chair.  Once again the pair would stop in front of the chair trying to delay the other before racing around it, taunting the other to distract them from the song, until finally the song stopped and after a squabble that lasted for what felt like a minute, (Y/n) won the pot!
“Yes! Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! Ha! In your face Munson I won the pot haha!” (Y/n) rejoiced as she claimed her prize, a full year supply of M&M’s while Eddie was given the three musketeers bag. Even with his wounded pride, he accepted the prize and was happy that his girl got the big prize.
The traditions continued with watching ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ and ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’ (Sinclair tradition), playing a few Christmas songs (the Munson tradition), and acting out a chapter or two from ‘A Christmas Carol’ (a Henderson tradition).  Next up was (Y/n)’s family tradition, ‘Santa Exchange’ as the gift opening was about to happen.
“Okay let’s see. This here is for Robin.” She said holding up a beautifully wrapped gold and red box with a red bow.  Robin took her present as (Y/n) grabbed the next one when another hand reached up and grabbed a snowman packaged present bag.  She looked up to see Eddie and he said,
“Figure Santa needs a little helper?”
“Santa appreciates it, thank you.” Soon the two of them worked together passing out all the presents to everyone until they were all set up in their own areas throughout the living room.  “Okay so every year my family mixes up the order in how we each open up our presents so this year I say we go from oldest to youngest. Sound good with everyone?”
“Yep. Yeah.” Everyone answered.
“Alright, but before we start that, I want everyone to take my gift to you and open it. It’s all the same thing that I had done when I was in Japan.” Everyone went through their gifts until they found (Y/n)’s gifts and they all began opening them.
When everyone opened their gifts, it was revealed to be a traditional, authentic Japanese painting of her friends.  Not only were they in the picture, but next to them was an animal she felt like was their spirit animal.
Nancy had an crane on her picture, Steve had a dog specifically the Japanese breed Akita, Dustin had a tiger, Robin had a white cat, Lucas had a phoenix, Mike was a koi fish, and Eddie had the traditional Japanese dragon.
“I found a traditional Japanese artist and in the span of the 4 months I was there with my team filming the Japanese Alps, I asked him to do this for you guys.”
“Wow (Y/n) this is—incredible.” Robin said admiring her painting.
“Easy for you to say, I’ll bet none of you are a fish.” Mike whined to which Nancy hit her brother in the arm making him exclaim in pain.
“It’s wonderful (Y/n), thank you.” Everyone else soon thanked her for her gift and she smiled as she sat back down at her area next to Eddie.
“Now that that’s out of the way, Eddie why don’t you start us off?”
“Yes!” Eddie softly cheered as he grabbed the first gift he spotted which was from Dustin.  He opened it to reveal the new Led Zeppelin cassette.  “Ha-ha! I knew you’d come through for me Henderson!”
“You’ve only been talking about it since Halloween. But I knew you’d like it, Merry Christmas Eddie.” Eddie continued to open up his gifts and he got some more cassette tapes, some new pins for his jacket, a new red flannel, and the new D&D manual book that had recently came out.
Up next was (Y/n).  She opened the first gift that was from Steve and Robin.  She unwrapped the paper before looking at the box to reveal what exactly it was before opening it.
“Oh my god, you guys.” It was the new Panasonic VHS camcorder.
“We figure you might wanna record some of your trips instead of just taking pictures. 3 hours of film this thing can do.” Steve said.
“This must’ve costed you guys a fortune. And I knew Keith don’t pay you much.”
“Worth every penny. Besides I expect some videos of tigers with that camera next time you go to India.” Robin said pointing at her.
“Alright, it’s a deal. Thanks you guys.” Seeing that camcorder made Eddie sick to his stomach.  He wasn’t rich nor did he have enough money to buy her expensive gifts, all he had was his small little surprise that he had made for her.  But he began to second guess himself, would she even like it? His stomach continued to turn in knots as she grabbed the next gift which was a new scrapbook from Nancy.
“Figured your old one was getting full so I figured it’s time for a new one. There’s also some little stencils in there so you can decorate it as you wish.” She told her.
“Aww I love it, thanks Nancy. Okay whose next?” she hovered her hand around the remaining gifts until she picked up Dustin’s.  “Henderson’s next.” She unstapled the bag and pulled out the green paper stuffed inside and pulled out a journal that read across the cover (Y/N)’s ENCYCLOPEDIA.
“My encyclopedia?” she asked him.
“Thought it would be cool to get real animal biology from a real animal biologist. Someone who actually knows the facts and doesn’t keep editing it, I swear you’re smarter than any science book that talks about animals and how they behave and operate.”
“Is this some excuse to help you with future science homework?” she teased.
“What? No, no! No way! I just wish for you to write down what all you know and what you didn’t know before about all the animals you help document and study.”
“Well that’s sweet of you Dustin, thank you. Okay Michael, you’re up next.”
“Why must you insist on calling me that?”
“Cause I know it embarrasses you. And as your former babysitter it’s my job to embarrass you.” She opened up his gift and it was a small animal calendar.  “Alright! Now I’ll be able to see what day it is. I swear those guys don’t carry calendars with them like at all. They tally the days like cavemen in their journals. Thanks Mike, really I appreciate it.”
She then went for Lucas’ present and he got her a mini-figurine that his sister made of her character Lady Tauriel.
“Now Erica would claim she made it all herself but I was the one that bought the figurine in the first place and I told her your description of her. She painted it and that’s all.”
“It’s a team Sinclair effort and I love it. Tell your sister when you see her thank you too.” She placed her D&D character back in the container before saying. “And last but not least, Eddie—” but as she reached out for it, Eddie snatched his gift back and pocketed into his leather jacket.
“Dude what the hell? You can’t just take back your gift.” Steve said.
“Shut up Harrington!”
“Eddie what’s wrong? I want to see what you got me.” She asked him.
“No you don’t. it’s not even ready.”
“Why would you give her an incomplete gift?” Mike asked.
“Hey Mike cool it, I’m sure Eddie has a good reason. Final exams were a bitch this year so I can see why he wouldn’t have time to finish his gift.” Dustin said trying to get Mike off Eddie’s back.
“It’s nothing like that Henderson, and I can defend myself thank you very much!” but his tone was harsh.
“Geez Eddie no need to snap. I know Dustin can be a bit much but there’s no need to go that far.” Said Robin.
“Will you guys just leave me alone alright!? God this is why I hate Christmas! Everyone making a deal about presents that just end up in the trash a couple weeks if not the day after Christmas!” he soon stormed out of the room and the house echoed a loud slam from the front door.
“I’ll go talk to him.” (Y/n) said as she got up and followed after him.  After putting on her coat, boots and gloves, she followed Eddie who was leaning against his van smoking with a furrowed brow.  “You’ll catch your death of cold if you stay out here like that.”
“I’m fine. Never bothered me anyway.”
“You may have everyone convinced that you’re this stone, cold metalhead but not to me. Sure you’re a metalhead but you’re not stone cold.”
“Well you wouldn’t know considering you haven’t even been here for over a year and a half!” he snapped.  It shocked (Y/n) to hear Eddie snap at her like that but as soon as he looked at her shocked expression, he sighed heavily and stomped out his cigarette.  “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have shouted.”
“I know.” She walked up to him and took his hand between hers, not only in comfort but to warm them up.  “You wanna tell me what’s really going on in that squirrel brain of yours?”
“I don’t have a squirrel brain.”
“Yes you do. You always have a million things going through your head, and its twice as intense when you’re stressed or upset about something. So c’mon tell me. We’ve always been able to tell each other everything.” Eddie looked into her soft, gentle (e/c) and he felt his heart melt but also grow heavy into his stomach.
“Everyone else got you such amazing gifts. Gifts that’ll either help your future career or that you can personalize. Hell the Sinclair’s made your D&D character come to life, and all I got you was……this.” He took out his gift which was just a plain old small white box with a golden ribbon tied to it.
He couldn’t even look her in the eyes as he held it out to her. Once he felt her take it from his hand, he crossed his arms over his chest as his breathing grew sharper and heavier and she could see just how fast it was from the cold breath that escaped his lips and danced into the air.
She looked down at the plain white box and untied the ribbon before opening it to reveal inside two chain necklaces and attached to them were what appeared to be hand-carved wooden turtle doves.  Or that’s what they seemed to be, it was a bit mish-mashed but even with the faults in the sculpting, she knew it must’ve taken Eddie a long time to do these twice.
“They’re supposed to be turtle doves. I know they look shitty, the woodshop instructor couldn’t teach me for shit and the chain is nothing special. Just from some old chain necklaces Wayne doesn’t wear anymore so I got rid of what was on those and he helped me attach the birds to the chain.”
Tears formed in her eyes as she pulled the necklaces out of the box and held them in her palm.  She looked up at Eddie and immediately embraced him tightly, burying her face into his shoulder blades.
“What?”
“Eddie,” she released him so she could come around and cup his face which was already turning red from the cold, and even his nose was starting to go a bit red.  “This, this is the sweetest, most thoughtful gift anyone has ever given me.”
“Really?” he asked insecurely.
“Really, really. And knowing that you did your best, I don’t care if the turtledoves look perfectly hand sculpted or like a woodchipper went to town on them.” They both softly laughed.  “But there is something that is wrong with this gift.” At hearing that statement, Eddie’s brief moment of happiness once again turned back to fear. He felt her take his left hand and she placed one of the turtle dove necklaces into his palm before closing it up. “You need to keep one, so that way we each have one, and that we’ll always come back to each other.”
“Each other?” he asked her.  She nodded as she slowly got closer to him whispering.
“Together forever, meleth nin.” She then took her chance and kissed her best friend/secret crush.  When she felt him tense, she feared that maybe the kiss was too much and began to pull away but it wasn’t until she felt Eddie’s arms wrap around her waist pulling her close and even lifting her up.
She was stunned but wrapped her arms tighter around Eddie’s shoulders as their kiss slowly deepened until he set her down and they separated for air.
“My Christmas wish came true this year.” She whispered lovingly.
“Agreed. I’ve only dreamed of this a thousand times since middle school. Merry Christmas Lady Tauriel.”
“Merry Christmas Lord Beren.” They smiled at each other lovingly before they hugged each other so tightly it was like their bones would pop, before they looked at each other with their noses brushing against each other’s and their lips met in another sweet kiss.
“ABOUT DAMN TIME!! I’VE BEEN SEEING YOU MAKE GOO-GOO EYES AT EACH OTHER SINCE SHE GOT HERE!!” Dustin’s voice exclaimed in the night air. Eddie rolled his eyes before bending down and grabbed a big chunk of snow and quickly raced towards Dustin.
He let out a scream before racing back inside with Eddie at his heels holding the snow patch in his hands.
“No! NO don’t you dare stuff that down my back!”
“Get over here Henderson!”
“HEY NO SNOW TRAILS IN MY HOUSE GUYS!!” (Y/n) shook her head as she went back inside and closed the door as the chaos continued with Dustin exclaiming and trying to get the snow out of his back, Steve trying to mop up the wet patch of water from said snow that had been dropped on his good carpet, and Eddie and (Y/n) sitting close to each other exchanging kisses every now and again.

Me, Dustin and Eddie being energetic gremlins and Steve tired of all this shit, but following us anyway because his maternal instincts speak louder.
Until my social battery runs out and I join Steve trying to control the two energy balls.

Your lack of concentration and worry were getting far too out of hand and you didn't know what to do.
The next day you couldn't take it anymore, the stress, anxiety and overthinking caused you to get intense with your friends and your boyfriend.
A few hours earlier.....
At lunch at the hellfire table
You are just sitting there eating your sandwich then realized that you have a assignment due the next day and you are late. The dark expression on your face was noticed by Dustin, the person who knows you best. still you were scared... this meant you had to cancel and you were terrified. Your leg began to vibrate, voice cracking as you spoke. "Uhm I-I-I cant make it to hellfire tonight..... I- have homework.." Your said with anxiety clearly in your voice. Everyone stared at you like you were insane accept Dustin who moved to rub your back "guys it isnt a big deal school is more important than some adventure game anyway her missing one session isnt a big deal"
the others arguments against Dustin's statements was what broke you. with Eddie sick you were his replacement dm and with school, anxiety, worry, feeling different, stress, homework and chores it was too fucking much,. "The session is cancelled and if you have a problem with that CONSULT WITH MY FUCKING NON EXISTANT THERAPIST!" You say raising your voice tears in your eyes. A few hours later
You had just finished the last of your homework tears in you're eyes 'You spin me right round' by dead or alive playing threw your walkman when you hear a distant knock, with your mom out of the house,, you were quite paranoid so taking nervous footsteps you make your way to the door floor creaking under your feet nerves gaining, devouring you whole. You said nothing, it was the plan for you to stay at the Henderson house when your mom was out of town.
On the walk any attempt at a word was quickly shushed in a soft gentle tone. Dustin reached up and ran his fingers through your hair even when you got to his house he was still holding you stroking his fingers through your hair making you melt.
he kept you there for a while before cradling you in his arms placing a sweet kiss at the top of you're head. "You wanna talk about whats been bothering you muffin?"
The air became thin as you tensed up your posture "hey hey hey You are okay. you are safe in my arms okay? " he says seeming serious and truthful. You nod and looked at him "I guess i feel d-different.......... and i feel like i am gonna fail at life... everyone looks at me... i feel so pathetic all the time and i am genuinely anxious almost all the time. i had a late assignment and i needed time to do it... i got it done and here we are" you ramble out worried you sounded stupid Dustin's expression didn't change as he kissed you're nose "well lucky for you you have a boyfriend who knows the secret ingredient that always makes you happy!'' he exclaims in a soft sweet tone "hm?... what would- theheeep! duhuhustin" you squeek quietly feeling gentle fingers tease your skin with light brutely slow strokes pulling snorts out of you like no tommorow. After a while he noticed that you had almost had enough but he knew he needed to do one thing before hand. he then stopped his teasy fingers targeting your midddle to move up and trace feather light shapes on your neck causing you to squeele softly scrunching up your shoulders him then ending his gentle attack by placing a gentle kiss on your tummy. pulling you close going back to stroking your hair. "You may be slightly different but that is a good thing muffin it would get boring if we were all copy's of each other.."
" Also They were being asswholes they deserved that alright?" he said reassuringly you nodded resting your head on his chest him stroking your hair making you feel like the luckiest girl in you world "I love you Y/N.." he says softly

Hi! How are you? Also could I request something where Dustin is dating someone who has anger issues? Then one day it really starts to show because when we where with him some assholes where talking shot about him and reader just sees reader and just goes up and punch’s the person saying the worst stuff about him?
The Barbarian's Rage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Some bully makes fun of Dustin about Eddie and reader punches them in the face. There's a reason you're the party's Barbarian.
Warning: I sayed the name Andy a lot, Bullying, Disrespect of the dead(Eddie), Dustin wearing Eddie's rings, Andy. Aka the asshole who tackled Erica, a lot of cursing, a lot of yelling (both by reader. Because that's the kind of anger issues I have), Angst.
ngl not my best work. I'm so tired.
Tumblr media
Dustin had come home after the "earthquake" with a limp and a desire to speak as little as possible. Unfortunately with all the tension high from all of the loss it made Dustin an easy target.
However, your boyfriend refused to accept any of that. he moved about and helped the town wherever he could find something that needed doing. He refused to go see a doctor, even with all of your constant "nagging".
But you weren't stupid you could feel the stares he was getting from Eddie haters. Most of Hellfire, at least those who could afford it, had been the first out of Hawkins. Their Families fleeing in fear of all that was happening with Eddie and the sudden "earthquake" that there would be a witch hunt for the rest of the members. Those who hadn't left usually weren't seen out and about, besides Dustin and Mike.
"hurry up!" Steve called out as he closed his door a bit roughly waiting for the two of you dog the doors.
Although being gentle was hard for you you trying to help Dustin get around. But any attempts to help him out the car were waved off and he climbed out all of his own. You rushed to try and help him support himself instead of limping but he waves that away too.
"I'm fine." He mutters, refusing to lean on you, instead opts to hold your hand. The feeling of cold metal is startling as he very roughly grabs hold and settles your palms together. The feeling is foreign. And you have to remind yourself not to snap at him for being aggressive.
"I wasn't implying you weren't, stupid." You sign both of your names into the sign in sheet and slapped the small 'hey my name is: Dustin Henderson.' sticker onto his jacket. "But you're limping like a peg leg pirate and you haven't been sleeping. I'm not trying to help you out of pity. I'm helping because I love you." You sigh straighten out his hair, pushing it back out of his face before holding his soft face in your hands. "Let's go get this work done, ok?" You glace paranoidly around you. "The quicker we get out of here the fucking better."
"ok." You walk past Steve who was having an animated chat with Melissa behind the sign in table towards the large collection of brooms for sweeping the damaged halls. You grab two, take your time to find one with a shorter handle so Dustin could lean on when if he got tired.
"Hey Freak!" You scoff under your breath at the sound of Andy from the basketball team, you'd yet to forgive him for attacking Erica. Who in recounts of what had happened had been TERRIFIED. The thought of him doing that to anyone was enough to make your grip tighten on your broom. "Don't walk away from me."
"I'm cool. I'm ok." You mumble under your breath. Until you heard two things that made your entire world flip upside down and your eyesight to go a hazy shade of red with rage. There was a loud deafening crash and even with a gym full of people it could be heard because everyone had gone silent. There's nothing else but the sound of hundreds of people breathing as quiet as possible and five words that made your eye twitch.
"I'm talking to you, Henderson."
You spin around and your two broom fall back into the pile. A couple of eyes turn to you but mostly everyone is focused on Andy and Dustin, who now was supporting himself against a half broken table wincing as if he was hurt. His leg.
"ANDY." You're loud and clear voice echoed through the silent room and the jock asshole in question turn to look at you smiling like he had just brought the Sun to a dark cave. Like by pushing Dustin he was the bringer of Justice. "You push him, asshole?"
He turned his head towards you in disbelief, like he was surprised someone was standing up to him and maybe he was maybe he thought he was the new Jason who had really just been the new Billy who had really just been trying to imitate Steve. A "charming" smile morphs onto his face and he simply says: "you have to be joking." But you were not you had tunnel vision and the only thing you were focus on was ending Andy.
"HUH Dickwad? You push him?" You ask again as you get closer. You point a finger at your boyfriend when you say him. But Andy knew who you were talking about.
"y/n don't-" Dustin began. Maybe you were just ignoring him or maybe you genuinely couldn't hear him but what Dustin said was not reaching you as you got it close to the much taller boy in front of you and Shoved him.
"Why do you care, L/n. He was friends with a murderer." Andy spat, and you clench your jaw. EDDIE WAS NOT A MURDER HOW DARE HE SAY HIS NAME' "He's a Satanist freak. Why are you protecting him? He your little boyfriend?""
A sick and twisted sadistic like smile spread across your face and Andy seem to draw back just a little bit as you laughed and your handball into a fist you can feel your nails poking into your palm as you wind back and deck Andy straight in the Face connecting a big part of your face with his cheek and side of his nose. "Fuck yeah, he's my boyfriend." Andy stumbles a bit and you see him clutch his nose as it starts bleeding but it's still not enough. You kick the asshole straight the back of his knee. 'he hurt Dustin's leg.' your brain shouts at you. Logically a part of you knew that it wasn't all Andy's fault but you needed someone to blame as you watch him fall onto one knee and his friends come closer.
"Y/n come on..." Dustin calls and you can tell he's hurt but Steve will get him, you tell yourself.
"You listen up, Andy" you grab a hand full of green varsity jacket and whisper sweetly. "and you listen fucking good. You see that boy? You say something mean to him again? And I'm going to punch you in your ugly ass face again. You touch him again and I break your Hand? How are you going to play basketball with no hand, Andy?" The boy nods along probably in an attempt to leave the situation with just a little dignity. You turn to walk away but just as you can walking towards your boyfriend only three steps away from your original spot you get angry all over again spin on your heels and deck him one more time.
"Y/N!" Someone maybe Dustin probably Dustin yells.
"Fuck you you cunt! You piece of shit. You know that? you're a piece of shit Andy. I HOPE YOU LOST A TOOTH YOU SON OF A BITCH." You Angrily went off at the asshole, attempting to get at him on more time when a pair of arms wrap around your waist and they struggle to pull you back with all your angry shaking you pulled back and spat at him since your hands couldn't reach.
"HOW DARE YOU-" you continued screaming all the way out. It wasn't until you reached the sunny outside far away from Andy that you calmed down.
"what is WRONG with you?!" Dustin demands letting go of you in the parking lot.
"what's wrong with me?! what's wrong with that asshole?!"
"he didn't do anything." He lied, like you hadn't heard Andy yourself.
"BULLSHIT." You noticed you were screaming when he flinched away from you and lower your voice " Bullshit. what did he say to you?"
"Nothing!" Dustin insisted shoving his hands into the pockets of his jacket.
"Don't you fucking lie to me, Henderson."
"He said Shit about Eddie!" His voice shakes as he utters the name he's been avoiding. Of course that Asshole had something to say about Eddie. The whole town has something to say. The two of you stand in silence for just a few seconds before you open your mouth.
"I'll kill him." Was all you said before turning back to head in for a round two.
"stop." Dustin grabbed your shoulder and you stopped in place. "Why? why can't you leave this alone?"
"because I'm the Barbarian..." You frown shrugging his hand away. "and your my Bard. I'll do anything to protect you always."
He sighs and sits on the back of Steve's trunk. Watching the people leave and enter the building. Watching you try and control your breaths all the while glaring angrily at the world, with a certain fire in your eyes. The same fire he fell in love with times 10.
"sometimes I don't need protecting." He lets out gently and you can't help but feel like he's coo'ing at you the same way one might speak to an Injured bird.
"I know." You sigh, unfurling your fist and climb up beside him careful to avoid his bad leg when sitting. He smiles at your consideration still staring at the building waiting for Steve.
"freak." He says leaning back a bit to find a more comfortable position. He didn't even mean for it to come out. He didn't want to talk about it. No position could make him comfortable enough to talk about it.
"What?"
"He said Eddie was a psycho freak killer." He frowned deeply and brushed his hair out of his face. "That he hoped his death was painful. That he hoped his freak friends watched. He said 'Gods gonna get you next toothless.' don't get mad again. I just..."
"Yeah?" You clench your jaw to stay calm knowing he needed you just to listen.
"I...miss him a lot." He said after a bit. And you felt his shoulder shake beside you.
"I know."
"Never leave?" He sniffs.
"I won't."
"Swear?" You see tears roll down his face.
"I swear."
"That means don't get arrested on Assault charges." He laughs and it's wet with tears. Just a bit.
"I know." You frown gently but lean your head on his shoulder and grab his hand feeling the cool metal of Eddie's Dustin's rings on your palms, and increasing familiar feeling.

She could never fully put it into words or truly explain her friendship with Eddie Munson. No one could make her laugh the way Eddie could. She enjoyed listening to his nerd rambling about Dungeons and Dragons or a new song he learned on his guitar. A good day could be sharing a blunt on his couch or even just them doing homework in her room . Though he grumbles about it, she’s sure he enjoys adding to the matching bracelets she made them, a new add on for every special occasion. The bracelet has five, one from the first year of being friends, the other four from two birthdays together, and the last they made for the beginning of the year as luck, graduation.
Her peers could not grasp the concept of an attractive cheerleader befriending someone deemed a freak. Nor could they understand why she never took the time to justify it. She still hung out with Chrissy Cunningham and many of the school athletes, easily managing a dual life. A definite contender for homecoming and prom queen, not a single soul in the building could say they did not know (Y/n) (L/n). Many would say great things, typically tailing on a comment about her friendship with Eddie as if he sits like an ugly mark on her shiny reputation.
No matter how much her reputation glittered it was far from gold, she was many things but her cowardice would take the forefront of her mind. Without a doubt (Y/n) and Eddie were destined to meet. Their mutual love of inside jokes and music being a gateway to a friendship that blends seamlessly. A bond unmatched by anyone else in her life, a certainty that she would burn the entirety of Hawkins down if it meant the Hellfire freak would be okay. Though it seemed she would never muster up the courage to share just how much she loved the metal teen it would appear that time would not be on their side.
She was supposed to be there when Chrissy was making her purchase. Eddie had told her what time and they planned to smoke some weed and relax on his couch at home. The win of the basketball team and large influx of invites to plans washed it all away. She found herself more distracted and by the time she looked at the clock she thought, He’ll be fine; I can just explain in the morning.
By the next morning police tape and officers blocked the road leading to Eddie’s house. No one would provide answers and the news only added to her ball of nerves and ever growing frantic state. Her parents insisted she get some rest to calm her anxiety, her bedroom bringing ease to many of her fears.
“I thought—the news—I,” Nearly tackling Eddie into a hug, he gave her a light squeeze as he whispered rambled all that happened. She did not care at first for details as her mind only focused on a single joy, he was alive. As Chrissy’s name left his lips her smile dissolved, an earth shattering reality sinking in. “Eddie you ran, they’re going to think you did this.”
“I didn’t do this (Y/n). You have to believe me, I would never hurt Chrissy. You know me,” He said, watching her with pleading eyes but it did nothing to the horror dancing in her own.
“Eddie you can’t stay here,” As the words leave her lips his shoulders fall in defeat, the tightening of his chest’s constricting and her rooms no longer inviting. He looks down at his feet missing how a tear drops from her cheeks, “It’s the first place they’ll look for you. You can take my bike in the garage and one of my Dad’s hoodies. Go down the alley all the way down leads to the woods.”
“You’re helping me?” Eddie’s head snapped up to find her staring as if she will never see him again. She nods her head saying she knows him better than anyone in this town.
“Come on. The police could show up here at any point, you cant be here,” She says, poking her head out of her room door she moves meticulously through her home with Eddie in tow. Her parents reside in the living room, oblivious to their daughter sneaking a person of interest out of the back door. In the garage reveals a bunch of old junk from over the years. She grabs her dads old work hoodie and her old bike before leading Eddie into the alley. The two move slow and neither say a word during the process, the weight of the situation growing heavier and heavier by the second.
Eddie slips the dirty hoodie on with ease and still not a word between the two. When he takes the handles from her hands is when it all crashes down on the two. He pulls her into a hug without warning, earning a flinch in response. The two stand like this for several seconds without a clue of what awaits them.
“Take this with you,” She says slipping off her bracelet Eddie frowns at the gesture. He tells no way but she shakes her looking at him with pleading eyes. They are both only kids, scared kids. “I don’t know what comes next Eddie and for the first time I can’t be there for you. So where ever you go I need to know you’re not alone, not completely.”
“Everything’s gonna be okay,” He knows his words do not sound believable nor does it eases her worry or his own. When silence greets the two after a few seconds her turns onto the bike ready to pedal off without destination. She reaches out grabbing his forearm halting his movements and her tears fall freely as she scolds herself.
“Eddie I have to tell you somet—“ A dry chuckle leaves his lips as he mutters not like this. She can see how he blinks away the tears that well up in his eyes and fails to offer her a reassuring smile.
“I have wanted this moment from the second I saw you but not like this. Tell me when it’s all over,” Not giving her a chance to say another word he pedals off down the alley. The urge to look back strong as he can feel her eyes burning holes into his back but he continues forward.

The cops did arrive at the (L/n) residence with endless questions. She was sure they knew she was lying and her parents were no help. Her distraught persona and dejected personality only adding to the suspicious eyes. As town drowned in hysterics she just wanted to know if he was okay. No matter how bad things got they always seemed to get worse. Hawkins was tearing from the seams and town felt as though it was leveling. So much devastation in the matter of seconds.
When it came time the gruesome nature of Chrissy’s death and matching others would clear Eddie’s name. It was finally over, entering the high school gymnasium the two walked in sync. For the first time in several stressful days, Eddie was happy.
“I need to find (Y/n), Henderson. She would definitely be here helping with this,” Eddie said, parting from Dustin he ignored the watchful eyes of his peers and neighbors. Though his name was cleared it did not stop their questions so much so it masked the looks of sorrow. His eyes skimmed the room without care looking for the familiar girl with a terrible laugh and large smile. When he found it, his eyes did not light up like usual. On the wall by the back her picture sat up with many, flowers and bears and cards scattering the floor by it. Beneath her own picture sat her Pom-poms, only identifiable because of the gold pendant with her last name attached. Above the pictures read in bold letter, REST EASY, HAWKINS STUDENTS.
Realization came fast. Vecna had won, leaving only devastation in his wake. She was taken when the ground had split, it was a quick and painless death. That’s what coroner told her parents and that’s what they told Eddie. Just like that he would give anything to know what she was going to say. The only thing left behind being her bracelet, a little piece of herself readily available beyond the her that now only exists in memories. For the first time he needed her to put it in words, he needed her to explain their friendship. He needed her.

dustin teaching reader how to play dnd or maybe do one of his tech things <3
aaaaa
dustin the wisest teacher(no he's not)
i'm just gonna... modern!college!dustin bc it'll make the most sense. also, this one got away form me, it's such a cute prompt.
also also, fake facts/statistics
𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓢𝓾𝓬𝓴 𝓐𝓽 𝓣𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓗𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷
"So what are these dice for again?" You asked for the millionth time. You shifted in your seat and tried not to look bored. You just couldn't.
Not to Dustin.
He was so cute and bouncy and excited.
"Um... uh... various things."
The party groaned in response to Dustin's inability to explain things. He knows exactly what it is but he can't quite articulate what he means.
Eddie spoke up to not make the silence as awkward as it was. It was just a little throwaway one-shot to teach you. "Dustin you want me to-"
Dustin threw his hands up in Eddie's direction to silence him. "No! No. I got it man. So the dice... They, um... they're for-"
"Determine what happens."
"They determine what happens!" Dustin echoed.
You nodded as if you knew exactly what he meant. "Right... So then-" Another groan. "Stop it guys! I'm learning."
After the game was done, which took forever due to your questions, you helped Dustin clean up his dorm room.
"Dustin?"
"Hm," He hummed in response.
You played with the vibrant blue dice in your hand and bit your lip, not entirely knowing how to voice your concern. "Maybe... maybe we should keep our hobbies, um, adjacent."
Dustin looked a tad hurt at the suggestion. "You didn't like it?"
Your eyes widened and you almost threw the dice when you shook your hands and head to show that, no, it wasn't that at all. "No Dusty. Not what I meant at all. What I mean is, we can still do our own hobbies but the other doesn't have to participate if that makes sense?"
Dustin tilted his head, clearly not getting it.
"Like..." You looked around the dorm for help. "Like how I bake! I can bake before campaigns and we can hangout but I won't force you to bake. Then you'll have snacks to take to your campaigns?"
Dustin slowly nodded but you knew he still didn't get it. You've known your boyfriend for forever, of course you knew he didn't.
"Or how I read," You tried again. "And you play your video games. We can do those things in the same room and talk to each other if we need breaks but we won't force each other to do it."
"I think I see now." Dustin said, putting an empty chip bag in the trash bin. "Or like, when you knit and I'm doing all my tech stuff. We chill and check in but don't try to teach the other?"
"Yeah! Adjacent hobbies work for a lot of couples and it's proven to make each individual in a relationship happier and feel more in control of themselves," You said. "A lot of the times 'incompatible' couples have problems with shared hobbies, very rarely is it actually something else."
Dustin looked surprised by your knowledge of relationships. "You're so smart. I feel so lucky."
"Aww Dusty," You cooed. "I'm the lucky one."
