07/04/2023:
Haute Couture Fashion Week seemed to go off with a bang yesterday, so to start things off properly, I went ahead and chose these nine looks from the Schiaparelli show, since they seemed to be the least ostentatious to me, if not also the most wearable.
For one, the occasional assymetrical edge looks interesting and fun rather than sticking out too much...for another, black and gold or black and white are both good color matches and do manage to complement the other. I am also interested in the slight overall vintage feel to everything, namely what looks to be the 1920s 'turban' for the women to wear instead of hats or scarves.
Lastly, I was kind of caught between loving the look of the false feathers/furs and...also wishing that the designer house just did NOT go there. *sigh* All in all, though, a somewhat impressive beginning to this week.
Overall rating: ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5 stars)
