Muppet Fact #789
In the first episode of the Clone High reboot, "Let's Try This Again" when Principal Scudworth sings a parody of "We Didn't Start the Fire," and sings "only reboots on TV," a picture of Jen and Kira is shown even though The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is being referenced.

I have no idea what the bottom left commentary is referencing exactly, when Luna was hardly in these episodes. But that's how it translated, both with the camera and writing it out myself on the app.

Viewing Response 10
In his article “The Past Tense and the Future Perfect: The Postmodern Play of Watanabe Shin’ichiro and the Possibility of the Coming Community,” Will Bridges writes on how the central characters in Watanabe’s work frequently lack a sense of belonging. He writes that “Watanabe’s characters often begin with several, fragmented selves but not even a single community. The narratives his anime present show these characters in their attempts to weave a communal story out of the ruins of the worlds they inhabit” (789).
Bridges point can be seen in the second and fourth episodes of Watanabe’s Cowboy Bebop (1998). Although the protagonist Spike acts indifferent towards his crew members, we see that he actually does care. The second episode ends with Spike complaining about how Ein, a data dog with abnormal intelligence, is now living with them on the Bebop. However, Jet is quick to point out that it was actually Spike who brought in Ein to begin with. And at the end of episode four, Faye declares that she will be staying with them moving forward. While Spike and Jet seem against the idea, neither take strong actions to deny her. Later in the show, we see that Ein and Faye have seamlessly joined and become part of the crew. The characters inhabiting the Bebop create a sense of community despite their vastly differing backgrounds and initial act of wanting to be alone.

Note
Now that season 5 is confirmed to happen. What do you think is going to happen in the season? Think there might be more or the last one? Or more specifically what do you think David's arc will be in season 5? I mean I’m assuming he still going to be there?
Part of me thinks that season 5 will be the final season, and some of the major plot points I’m theorizing will happen will be David taking over the camp, OR Cameron potentially getting back in some form of control with Penelope with him; maybe there will be an episode or even a whole ARC about Camp Campbell and troop #789 merging? That’d be hilariou

AF 789: Milt Kahl (Nine Old Men)
Perhaps one of my favorite things about Disney is this: At first, it’s all sparkle and magic. Whether you’re visiting the parks or enjoying Disney movies, every bit of it is captivating in some of the most imaginative ways possible. And then, when you look deeper, you start to notice the real genius behind it all. Underneath the parks, the rides, the attractions, the movies, you’ll find a level of craftsmanship that just isn’t all that common. If we’re speaking of Disney genius and craftsmanship, then we must talk about animator Milt Kahl. Some refer to him as the “master puppeteer”—and among all Disney animators, he is one of the most legendary. In fact, he was part of the Nine Old Men, a prominent group of animators responsible for so many Disney classics. Let’s dive into his story so that we can be inspired by his talents and accomplishments...

for any fellow lethal weapon witnessers: from what i can tell, episodes 123 are viewable-if-not-great media, 456 are [deep ominous silence], 789 are varying levels of watchable to surprisingly very enjoyable
i sit on the precipice of starting another trio of episodes with such fear and concern in my heart

Episode 789: Eric Trautmann on THE FORGED
Today's guest is writer, game designer, editor, and graphic designer Eric Trautmann. While his previous comics work has included such titles as DC's Checkmate  with Greg Rucka, Flash Gordon: Zeitgeist  with Alex Ross,  Red Sonja, Vampirella, and the Vertigo OGN Shooters with co-writer Brandon Jerwa and artist Steve Lieber, he's on the show today to talk about his new Image Comics series The Forged. Drawn by Mike Henderson, colored by Nolan Woodard, lettered by Ariana Maher, and co-written by the aforementioned Greg Rucka,  The Forged has been described by Rucka as "an over-the-top pulp adventure of sex, violence, and sci-fi inspired by Conan, Heavy Metal, and those other comics you tried to hide from your parents."
Greg gets a chance to chat with Eric about the series, its inspiration, the nature of pulp fiction in today's market, his background in roleplaying games (specifically the Star Wars license of the early 1990's), his collaborations with a wide variety of creators, how to make an evil dinosaur scientist's handwriting look real, and much more!

《— Quoth the Raven #1 —》
Tumblr media
General blog commentary is that I updated the desktop theme and moved things around in my posts, created a new one just for tags, &c.
Tumblr media
In regards to actual AU content, I’m super excited to start working on this project because it’s been sitting here for a while. I don’t want to go too off the rails into ridiculous AU territory. I want to keep moderately close to canon to keep it realistic within the rules of the game and universe. Considering the Multiverse, there’s an infinite amount of variations, each slightly different from each other, that exist. My AU is just a fan interpretation of one of these alternate universes.
I still don’t have a succinct name for this AU, viva la vendetta perhaps may be one, but even that feels too long for me. While I was in the middle of thinking about all of this, Viva Las Vengeance by Panic! got released and I had already been well into my Percy / Critical Role brainrot after watching TLOVM and starting campaign one (I am about 60 episodes into campaign two as of this post as well).
Between finding songs that fit the characters and listening to the song on loop, I was like “huh, this might prove something interesting”. Another song I was listening to that I see as a “Percy Song” (at least for my AU version) was / is Bang Bang by Green Day.
The line of lyrics that really stood out to me was “Oh baby, baby, this is viva vendetta”. However, “viva vendetta” is an incorrect phrasing of the Italian phrase “Long live Revenge”. I adjusted to the correct phrasing (“viva la vendetta”) and ran with it. So yeah, blog URL is technically inspired by a Green Day song.
Tumblr media
In regards to characterization, I noted something when I was researching information. It’s assumed the Briarwoods took over Whitestone around 805 PD (to make things easier for this AU, I am saying sometime in 805 PD exactly). Canonically, Percy is in his early to mid 20s by 811 PD. Vox Machina liberated Whitestone from the Briarwoods a year prior in 810 PD.
Here’s where my interest came from as I had assumed Percy to be in his early to mid teens at best during the events of the Briarwood take over (I’m aware there are likely people who knew he was not, but I had not looked into the specifics prior as it was not needed information).
Campaign wise, if Percy was in his mid 20s (24 - 26) during 811 PD, then in 805 PD he would’ve been anywhere from 18 - 20. If he was in his early 20s (20 - 23) then he would have been 14 - 17. Since for me, and this AU, I have Percy being 26, using 811 PD as a point (per canon), he is 20 at the time of the Brairwoods take over.
Tumblr media
So, here’s the current brief timeline (a future post will be made to expand on this in more detail).
785 PD — Percy is born.
789 PD — Cassandra is born.
799 PD — Professor Anders begins tutoring Percy in topics outside of the typical curriculum and subsequently begins to feed into, and sow, discontent within the young Lord ; Percy is 14 ; Cassandra is 10.
803 PD — Anders suggests to Percy that the Briarwoods come to visit Whitestone under the guise of tutelage ; Percy is 18 ; Cassandra is 14.
805 PD — Briarwood take over ; Percy is 20 ; Cassandra is 16.
810 PD — Liberation of Whitestone from the Briarwoods ; Percy is 25 ; Cassandra is 21.
811 PD — Point in the timeline that things are based on ; Ending events of the Chroma Crisis ; Percy is 26.
