With the theme of innovation and technology for gender equality, 8 March was International Women's Day, and the whole of March is Women's History Month, an annual highlight of women’s contributions to history and contemporary society.
Thus we harness the achievements and learnings of the past for a more reflective and forward-thinking present, and so progressively ensure an inclusive, equal, and impactful future for all who have challenged, joined and educated our still male-dominated industry. We started and will continue by consultation.
For example, in an interview posted on our website, Fourth Engineer Shaili Srivastava first tackles onboard cuisine and also crewing, and then offers deeply insightful and wholly candid views on other matters that can and often will impact women on board ship.
We hope and think that we are suitably addressing all such, and will persist in seeking, hearing (and, vitally, listening to) and then acting on the views of all Synergy Group employees.

Posted @withrepost • @thewintersgroup Almost everyone gets white privilege wrong. “I’m not privileged! I’m not rich. I’ve struggled to put food on the table. I haven’t had it easy. My parents are working class! I’ve never inherited anything.” Now, if you’re white, you may have thought something similar. I can pretty much guarantee that white privilege is not what you thought it was. White privilege is, by definition, the benefit of being white. So, what does being rich, struggling through life, or not inheriting anything have to do with whiteness? Nothing. For white people, none of those things has anything to do with the color of their skin. Which begs the question, why are so many people getting this wrong? I will answer this by providing 5 facts I wish everyone knew about white privilege. Which fact do you see the most commonly misunderstood? Let us know below and let's continue to learn from each other ⬇⬇ .... #TheWintersGroup #LeadInclusively #DiversityAndInclusion #DiversityEquityAndInclusion #DiversityEquityInclusion #InclusionAndDiversity #EquityAndInclusion #DiversityInclusion #InclusionSolution #SocialChange #SocialJustice #Changemakers #SocialJusticeActivist #Changemaker #Activism #Activist #Activists #EndWhiteSupremacy #DismantleWhiteSupremacy #DismantleRacism #DismantleTheSystem #WhitePrivilege #WhitePrivilegeIsReal https://www.instagram.com/p/ClFPTAluxc0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
"Performance evaluations and pay and promotion decisions should be based on standard and objective data — yet a multitude of research indicates that they remain riddled with bias, especially for members of historically marginalized racioethnic groups." #diversityandinclusion #equityandinclusion #recruitment
Why Companies Can — and Should — Recommit to...
In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court ban on affirmative action at colleges and universities, state legislation attaching diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts on campus, and more general attacks on DEI, companies are considering whether they need to change their DEI strategies.

[MONOLGUE MONDAY] Today, was a day that demonstrated the fullness of my work, and I am forever grateful to @dr.hollinssims from PaTTAN for giving us space to share how we work toward equity and inclusion in our suburban high school. . Last week, I was able to meet with many members of my student dream team to help organize our presentation for this afternoon’s mini webinar. It was so energizing, as we spoke freely about the work we have done and the work that we must continue to push toward full realization. My graduates took copious notes and put together an outline—all without any prompting! It showed me how much I missed working with them on facilitating difficult conversations about race and the various ways in which people are othered. . Overall, the experience was a much-needed demonstration of my purpose and the power that comes from creating space for students to be heard and valued, especially those who are in the margins. . I’m eternally grateful for these kids. As they continue the work on their college campuses, in their communities, and in our school. They are not future change agents. They are PRESENT DAY change agents! My heart is full! 🥰🥰🥰. . #teachingtolerance #blackschoolpsychologist #schoolpsychologist #blackwomenlead #changeagent #blackeducator #supportherhustle #blackscholarsmatter #melanated #teammelanin #naturalnerd #blackscholars #destroythehate #socialcommentary #blackeducators #blackvoices #blackscholars #equityandinclusion #equityinPAschools #passingthetorch #futureleaders #younggiftedandblack #representationmatters #speakyourtruth #speaktruth #socialjusticeeducation #culturallyresponsiveteaching #courageousconversations #speakup https://www.instagram.com/p/ByQ4RnrHT7R/?igshid=lcxhu0m26bmf
My latest article on @aninjusticemag @medium adds my perspective on a recent LinkedIn News interview. I love what John Rice, MLT.org founder said on @linkedinnews recently, ““But I’ll say that, that if senior leaders do become better informed, about why they are where we are, what we need to do to move the needle in if they arm themselves, with the facts and the and the rigor around with the current state, why we are where we are, what we need to do to move the needle.” What corporate donors got right, in part, was the monetary expense in the fight against racial inequities. I’ve quoted George Harrison before, it will take patience, time, and money. But the best investment in this fight will take the personal kind. Homelessness has a similar profile — in the way people treat the institution of homelessness by giving money, but not the giving of time. The latter, of course, costs more. . . . . . #diversitymatters #equityandinclusion #equity #blackpeople #peopleofcolor #poc #inclusion #inclusionmatters #racialequality #racialpaygap (at Beverly) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRZF5JtNY-J/?utm_medium=tumblr
