So I'm quick speedrunning through the seasonal quest on my other two characters, and something came to mind about the whole Misraak's backstory reveal, and specifically Eido's reaction to it.
A lot of people have felt her reaction to be a bit much, and I've agreed for the most part but I just had a thought having watched that whole interaction play out twice in a day. She says that she "understood he had a past", but she somehow finds it strange that he killed people like that? She knows the history of the eliksni after the Whirlwind, why would she find it strange he did those thing? So then I thought, what if he insinuated, or maybe outright told her that he had never killed anyone at all in his life?
Or maybe said that whatever few killings he had done were all in self defense, that he had no choice? Or it could be he told her that whenever he did have to kill, it was only as a last resort, and so finding out he killed so many with so little thought is what is throwing her, because he had told her he had never resorted to the brutality of the other eliksni?
Because if that were the case, I guess it could help explain why she reacted to what Eramis tells her like she did, at least for me. Just, trying to make it make sense you know?

Caiatl/Eramis?
send me a ship and I'll place it in the Benoit Blanc Compass
Hmm. As always, I want to give a fair consideration to any ship. But I can't see it. Neither logistically (so far they're in opposite sides of the war, no chance to meet) nor thematically (o may be missing something, but I don't see strong thematic connections between them?)
Veredict: doesn't make sense, doesn't compel me.

Eramis is on her upswing.
@ebevkisk
Here’s my reasoning.
Eramis is THE best written character in the entire Destiny franchise and here’s why.
Eramis’ entire arc is about her care for her people. Her broad strokes, her wild movements, her plans and schemes, all of those actions were for the survival of her people. She witnessed the Whirlwind and saw the destruction and pain the Black Fleet brought. She allies with the Witness purely for the safety of her people and the destruction of the Traveler, who she deems as the catalyst of the genocide and willful harvesting of Riis and its inhabitants.
Ever since Beyond Light, she had to fight back against the new gifted of the Traveler (us) and her entire plan was to wield Stasis to the point of driving the Traveler back beyond the reach of her people, so that a Second Collapse wasn’t necessary and that the last of the Eliksni would be spared.
Finally, at the end of Season of the Seraph, her plan came to fruition and the Traveler moved…but didn’t flee. Eramis, in disbelief, remarks at this “why does it not flee?” In the most loaded voice line of the entire year.
Eramis knows now. What she’s done. Not only is she shocked that the Traveler hasn’t left. Whether it’s out of a sense of nobility or it actually has nowhere else to run is trivial. Eramis understands now the consequences of her actions.
The Witness wants the destruction of the Traveler and they will rend life from limb to make it happen. They do not care for the genocide of a thousand races. Acceptable casualties are nothing to the Witness. What Eramis knows now is that the Witness is on their way to Earth. And that most of her people now reside there. And that she just doomed the people that she swore she wanted to protect.
She realizes now that she made the biggest mistake. And it’s gonna take a lot to correct this one.

I've been creatively bankrupt but this finally crawled out of my WIPs after sitting there for like. Six months or more. Bon appetit.
Read the rest of The Devil's Claw here

CHAPTER ?? / The Disgraced
“What have I done to deserve you gracing my presence?” Eramis drawls, her head cocked to an angle that speaks more of measuring her visitors than a genuine question.
“We noticed you had some gaps in your crew records from the recent…incident,” Solkis says, eyes flicking to the Captain - Reviks, her last surviving son - hovering behind her. Although shrouded by a large cloak and hood, he averts his gaze from the Hunter, choosing instead to study an incoming Skiff on the opposite runway with an intensity that Scribes would find admirable.
Wethraks grimaces, braced for retaliation. Being forced to ground her Ketch at Heathrow Spaceport for repairs due to the actions of her son, who should have known better than to lead a raiding party without her permission, has been the talk of the city. Her communications with the Lair are more terse than usual, and he has not dared to intrude on her time. Giving her time to grieve for not only the loss of her crew, but the loss of her son's common sense and lower arms, seemed the only polite course of action.
Solkis does not fear her. And he guesses that is why he receives a click of mandibles from the Shipstealer that suggests he continue, rather than a derisive statement and a retreat back up the loading ramp of her Ketch.
While held hostage and dragged across the city with as much dignity as could be mustered, shackles keep him from endangering anyone. The longer he looks, the longer Wethraks wonders if they would be enough to stop him should he turn, or whether he could shatter them with a flex of his wrist.
“I brought a replacement for one of them.” He steps aside to reveal his gift. A Dreg with a ruddy brown-orange exoskeleton, clothed in scraps of leather and cloth between a cobble of mismatched armor. More disturbing are the lower arms he should not have, flesh bound to metal through a thick layer of uneven scarring gouged deep into the shell of his torso. The prosthetics are little more than steel bars and exposed wiring formed into the crude shape of limbs, built for function over form.
“Devils nominate themselves to join my crew. You bring a mutilated Scar Eliksni in handcuffs,” she counters. “Why should I take someone who has to be forced to work, and who rejects our banners?”
“He lived on the same Ketch as us during the Drift, he knows about work.” Solkis lets out a dark laugh, nudging their guest forwards. “And his name is Taniks. His House-pledge still isn’t confirmed, but Ursaviks has a use for him.”
Her eyes narrow. “You miss my point.”
As the two launch into debate, Wethraks remains still and tries to fade into the background. The ‘Dreg’ standing hunched between them glowers up at Eramis, lower arms twitching and steel claws flexing. An aura of rage as strong as a thousand suns emanates from him. Given the chance of freedom, it feels as if he would eviscerate every Eliksni on the runway there and then, and realising that he would be the first and closest target makes him shuffle a few inches away.
"Look at him. He's harmless," Solkis’s voice cuts through her concerns, giving Taniks another shove so that he might be pulled into her Ketch by proximity alone. It earns him a warning growl and a glare over his shoulder, hackles raised.
“Then release him.”
Taniks’s growl only rises as Solkis fishes in a belt pouch to produce the key without a moment of hesitation, tensing and leaning away from him. As soon as his arms are freed, he pushes him away and hisses, wild-eyed. Straightening up to his full height, he sets his shoulders back, like posturing and challenging will make him run.
Eramis raises her head, watching his display with careful, guarded interest. When Taniks turns his ire back to her, she looks down her muzzle and gives an amused snort.
Like a match set to tinder, Taniks lets loose an enraged snarl and lunges forwards, teeth bared.
She steps back, just out of his range, and his swipe lands short. He takes another step to attack again before Solkis snatches him backwards, locking and twisting one of his upper arms behind his back to force him into retreat.
A deliberate, and failed test.
The look of contempt and disgust exchanged between the two Barons, for what Wethraks senses are entirely separate reasons individually, could have triggered a lightning storm.
“A ‘harmless’ liability,” Eramis grates. “Ursaviks must think I'm a fool to accept this offer.”
Solkis jerks Taniks back again to fit the cuffs around his wrists, straining to contain him. “You’re the best Baroness to teach him some manners."
“He is capable, in the right hands-” Wethraks adds, left hanging as she interrupts.
‘Of what? We left him alone on the Drift for a reason,” she gestures out with one arm, encompassing the time since she last laid eyes on him, and that spent on the Long Drift. “My crew needs shipwrights and skilled workers. Not an animal who would murder myself or others for a perceived slight.”
“The placement is on Ursavikskel’s orders. You take him, whether you want to or not.”
Before she can reject the demand, Reviks finally speaks up, “I can take him,”
“No!” Eramis snaps, spinning so fast to stop him that Wethraks flinches. She hisses something under her breath about his authority on her ship, all falling on deaf ears as he moves past her to join the negotiation.
“It is my fault that he's here, so he is my responsibility.” Reviks says, stepping forward with his arms spread and head low in apology. "Let me take him. I can keep him under control, and away from the others."
“As long as someone does,” Solkis chirrups with delight, holding out the keys to the new crewmate.
Wethraks casts a sidelong glance at Eramis, chittering in quiet apology for what has been caused. Through her ferocious scowl, he watches the gears turning in her mind as she weighs up the decision, and whether she could argue and defy her way out of all duty to the charge thrust upon her. While docked and in disrepute, she has the right to overrule Reviks, but that would burn a bridge he needs to cross. Something useful may come of Taniks, and of burdening her family with him.
Eventually, she concedes, her arms and shoulders drooping. She turns her back on them, beckoning the two towards the loading ramp. "Do not make me regret this.”
"I promise you won't. And if you do, it won't be my fault.” Solkis calls after them, chittering with laughter at his own remark.
“She will still blame you.” Wethraks mutters.
He chuffs. A given, and not one that concerns him. Eramis has found her reasons with others when required, and his treatment won't differ. Starting to walk away from the Ketch, he replies, “I’m an emissary. She should know to blame the Kell.”
Dithering, Wethraks remains fixed on the three as they depart. Although Reviks has a tight grip of his charge, Taniks writhes in his hold. He thrashes, twisting his head to stare back over his shoulder at where his captor and assistant were meant to be.
In that last look, his eyes lock with Wethraks, burning with malice and sharp as knives.
Even when he disappears into the depths of the Devilship’s hangar and is long out of sight, Wethraks swears he feels the sensation of his talons around his throat.

honestly Eramis selling exotic ships and sparrows that don't show up for silver anymore would be cool. like she has a weekly rotating stock that costs either materials or bright dust. also I think it would be really funny if Savathun had voice lines if you danced in front of her like co-op glados. very sarcastically supportive. "Yes, Guardian, I see your dances. I'm glad to see I chose such a valuable ally..."
oh god yes PLEASE. Especially if that gets them out of Eververse- I only ever pick my sparrows and ships based on if they handle well (sparrows) or if they fit my characters (ships), so opening an Eververse engram and getting Yet Another Fucking Ship kills me (really the only one that I want just for the hell of it is Death to Kells, and maybe that one cool bird-looking ship that I'm pretty sure is a Trials drop I'll never get bc I can't even wipe my ass in PVP, let alone go flawless). It would also just be really funny for Eramis the Shipstealer to be out here pawning off really fancy ships for high prices. Doubly so if, like I said, she'd also have some backhanded compliments or grumblings whenever we bought something from her. A kell's pride is not one so easily swallowed
ALSO YES 100% if Savathun ever becomes an npc, she needs to have a voice line like that, because there's no WAY she wouldn't be at least a little snarky about the silly shit we get up to in our free time

365: May 26
There was an air of suspicion when Eramis stepped onto the ketch's throne. Her reputation preceded her and not a few members of the outfit obviously kept her in their rifle sights as she walked up to the Baron waiting at the end of the room. Other than herself and the Baron no one else wore breathing masks. A testament to the wealth and ability of the outfit. There was no ether rationing here.
"That's close enough," Preksik said, still sitting, when Eramis came within ten feet of his throne. A display put on just for her. She didn't need to know that.
Eramis bowed before him, all four arms out, spreading out her cape so everyone could see she had indeed come empty handed as she'd been ordered to board the Lucent Dawn. "Baron Preksik the Scarred," she said in deference to him. "A reputation remembered even out here."
Next to him Braldos tsked. She held her rifle half lowered. Preksik didn't have to look to know his sister was rolling her eyes. "Eramis, the Shipstealer. What have you come to my outfit for?"
She gathered herself up and thankfully spoke directly. "We are making a new home, a new Riis, on Europa. I have come to see if you wish to be apart of something greater than... this," her tone turned patronizing at the end.
Preksik looked over at his grandson who was also his aide. "Which one is that?" he asked Geviks.
"Moon of Jupiter. Icy. Highly radioactive because of its thin atmosphere so it's constantly bombarded by space radiation," Geviks said simply. "An irresponsible place to create a colony," he stared at Eramis.
Eramis growled. "It is a place machine spawn do not go. It is safe for our kind," she said empathetically.
Preksik just chuckled. "If you think that you're a fool," he said. "There is nowhere the Lightbearers do not go in their own system. Just because they are not there now doesn't mean they will never go."
"Wouldn't you want your children to not be born and live in a ship their entire lives?" Eramis pressed.
"The outfit's children do not suffer."
"We were not made to live our life on ships."
"And yet we always have. Even on Riis. Tall ships and skimmers were more popular then I believe?" he said casually and though she wore a mask he knew her eyes went wide. He leaned forward, putting a hand on his knee. "What is it you want, Eramis? Are you seeking backing from the only unaffiliated outfit in the system not involved with Spider or the pirate crews? Do you need ether? Food? Clothes? Bodies?"
She held her lower hands out to him. "Perhaps friendship-
He laughed. "No." He leaned back in his throne as the Eliksni in the room also laughed. "No my outfit will not give you that. The rumors of your nature reach us even out here in the Oort cloud. We have had too many masters. You will not be the next."
"That isn't what I said."
"And who will lead Riis?" Preksik asked calmly. "You?" Eramis said nothing. He chuckled. "No. We will serve no Kell ever again."
"And yet you style yourself as one, masquerading like a Baron," Eramis said, anger getting the better of her. She refused to flinch at the low growl that came out of every Eliksni in the room.
"There are no Houses here, Eramis. No Kells. Now tell me what you want before I decide you have used all your good will of being Baron Viksis' friend once upon a time and I space you for your rudeness." He drummed his fingers on the arm of the throne boredly. He wasn't intimidated by Eramis. He also had the biggest fleet outside of a proper House in the system. She could do nothing to him.
"If friendship is beyond our grasp," she meant it as for both of them. Annoying but admirable. "Then any supplies you are willing to spare: ether, food, building materials. We will build Riis again with or without you."
"It will certainly be without," Preksik said mildly. "Geviks have eight hundred canisters of our reserve ether sent to Eramis' ship." He looked her over. "And whatever spare ration boxes the Mechanist has in reserve."
"All of it?" Geviks asked.
"Half of it," Preksik allowed. That was a lot and he didn't love Eramis. "What is the state of metal sheets on the Sun Skimmer?"
Geviks looked at it on his tablet. "Five hundred tons," Geviks said.
"Have half of it sent as well. What of wiring? No matter, send half of that as well."
Eramis stood there stunned. "You are very generous, Baron," she said.
"It is a one time donation, Eramis. Do not ask for more. Do not return. As soon as you step off my ship if you return or attempt to board you will be shot on sight," Preksik said like he was discussing the state of this year's harvest. "I am not doing this for you but to satiate my own guilt should I do nothing while you lead those Eliksni to a death world to create a mimicry of our lost homeworld. At least when it all turns to ash in your hands I will know I did what I could to spare you."
"It will not fail," Eramis insisted.
"For your sake and the sake of your House I hope so. Gaviks send out a broadcast of what Eramis is doing. If anyone wishes to leave with her they may." He looked at Eramis critically. "My outfit supports who they want and nothing more, Eramis," he said.
"A gracious gift," Eramis bowed slightly.
"Quartermaster, escort Eramis back to her ship. Make sure all the supplies are loaded and she leaves promptly," Preksik said, leaning to one side of the throne. "We will not meet again, Eramis."
"And yet we leave almost as friends," she said, extending a hand.
"No. I just know you're less trouble alive than dead. Now return to your ship and await your charity," and he waved her off. Braldos stepped down and joined Eramis. Quietly she guided Eramis out and the door closed behind them.
It was quiet again in the throne room. Then Preksik activated a monitor attached to his throne, the holographic display appeared before him. "Fek," he said. Fek was a Captain who ran the bridge.
"Yes, sir?"
"Have all guns pointed at Eramis' ship. I want no disturbances."
"Already done, sir. And I had the ketches without guns to move deeper into the Oort."
"Very good. As you were," and he closed the holographic display and stood up. "And the rest of you; as you were," and everyone relaxed and the door opened as they left the throne world, the charade completed.
"Paps," Gaviks said slowly as Preksik also headed out.
"Yes? Actually before you say anything, don't tell your grandfather I did that," he said to Gaviks. Viksis would be annoyed.
"Oh-- yes... that was what I was going to ask," Gaviks said with a wince.
"Just wait until she leaves. I'll deal with him," Preksik sighed as he stepped out of the throne room.
"Right. Well I need to go make that broadcast. I think that will let him know what you did," Gaviks reminded him.
Preksik sighed. "Right. Wait like ten minutes," and Gaviks nodded. That was long enough to find Viksis and distract him almost indefinitely. Viksis had been complaining about wanting another baby now that their latest one was grown by a few decades. He could keep his mate distracted easily. Long enough that by the time he found out to scold Preksik Eramis and her crew would be long gone.

As far as you/we know, was it ever made clear when Eramis was imprisoned and by who? Like, has the scene of her imprisonment ever been described or just hinted?
Because I found nothing in the lore until now (not anything explicit, at least) and Destinypedia doesn't specify it either, but I'm not sure if I'm missing something
It's mentioned in one single lore tab, from Forsaken. Lore book is Stolen Intelligence, tab Outliers:
VIP #2029, a once-known personality known as Eramis, or Eramis, the Shipstealer. A House Devils Baroness incarcerated during the Wolf Wars
This is some time after the Twilight Gap, because she is known to have fought there:
Outside, she is the firebrand of House Devils, the archfiend of Twilight Gap, the Shipstealer.
For clarity, the Reef Wars happened around the same time as the Twilight Gap and both were a prelude to the Wolf Wars where she was eventually captured (implied to be by the Awoken, but no further specification is offered).
Wolf Wars, aka the rebellion of the House of Wolves, followed the complicated stuff between the Awoken and the Eliksni living in the Reef. Most notably, the Eliksni Houses were preparing to attack the City at the Twilight Gap and House of Wolves would've joined Devils, Kings and Winter but they were intercepted by Mara and the Awoken. This prevented Wolves from joining the Gap and helped the Guardians win, but it also launched a huge war in the Reef (aka Reef Wars). The aftermath of this war eventually led to the remaining Wolves rebelling against the Awoken which turned into the Wolf Wars. This is also the content of the first DLC of Destiny (House of Wolves) and the Guardian participated in ending the Wolf rebellion, though at the time Eramis didn't appear in the game and wasn't mentioned.
However, it's interesting that she never really mentions any combat post-Twilight Gap. In The Once-Shipstealer lore book, she always mentions Gap and then imprisonment. Taniks, when speaking about Eramis in the same lore book, also mentions Eramis' actions during the Twilight Gap. It's probably what she was most well-known for, despite still being active after the Twilight Gap. Whatever Eramis was doing in the Wolf Wars is unclear.

same anon different message because I had a Thought. now that Savathun is back I want her to become an npc we can visit. I want to be able to annoy savathun 24/7
Okay but this is unironically something that I want with Eramis. Now that Amanda's dead and Rahool's got to deal with selling ships, there's an open slot for a shipdealer, and who'd be a better fit for it than the Shipstealer herself? I want it to be a thing where she's like, not fully allied with the city and is kind of in hot water with House Light but also shes got all these guardian ships on her person that she doesnt know what to do with so shes selling them back to us at double the price ksjfdhgb. Bonus if she's gruff and rude and tucked away in a corner of the Hanger like Xur is whenever he pops by to visit
Savathun becoming an npc is just as good though, I love the concept of being able to take bounties from her and doing our stupid little guardian dances in front of her skjdhfgb
