Tatagi for the character ask 👀
Also Eisuke if you remember him at this point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll just do Takagi since I've barely seen any of Eisuke's episodes.
HE'S SO CUTE and I like his relationship with Sato. It's nice that the show gives us One adult pairing that isn't a complete shambling mess. He also probably has the funniest dub name, especially considering I don't think he even had a name during the dub run. (Look at this man and tell me that's a Harry Wilder. That name popped up in huge letters when I googled him and it made me laugh again.)
Also goes without saying, I like his older design better.

A thought:
Half of the MPD have Conans' direct phone number. Other than his usual case calls, inspectors use the number for different reasons.
Takagi: Calls practically every other day in the evening to check that he's keeping out of trouble. Tends to see him about 5 minutes after calling, directly in trouble.
Sato: Calls once a week on a random day. Wants an update on what he's been doing when she hasn't seen him.
Shiratori: Calls every Wednesday just as school is ending. Is proud that Conan is somehow keeping up his grades (not knowing he's done it all before) while helping with detective work. Is secretly hoping to speak with Kobayashi as well.
Chiba: Calls on the weekend. Is put on speakerphone to talk Kamen Yaiba with the DB's.
Yumi: Calls on a random day once a month. Conan has tuned out her ranting about Shukichi by now.
Megure: Does not have Conan nor Shinichi saved in his contacts. Conan is just a child, and he respects Shinichi's privacy.

In Detective Conan, a lot of the detectives are great when it comes to solving mysteries... but are really dense when it comes to love.
Conan/Shinichi isn't as bad compared to other characters, but at times he can be oblivious when he occasionally interrupts romantic settings for the other couples like Takagi and Sato or Chiba and Naeko. Plus he's dense about Ai's romantic feelings for him.
Sato is pretty blind since she completely misses the point when it comes to romantic holidays or gifts that were meant for her. She didn't know the meaning of the left hand ring finger or the White Day holiday. She doesn't even realize Takagi has tried proposing several times! Sato's biggest flaw is she completely oblivious of how popular she is among her male coworkers!
Heiji is one number on my list of dense characters since it took him so long to realize he was in love with Kazuha. He was so dense to her obvious feelings for him and all the signs were there! He even went so far as to mistake his own jealousy when Kazuha gave attention or praise to another guy!
Heiji and Sato are the most dense, but fortunatly they both came to realize their true feelings and are making more effort in their relationships. Honorable Mentions also include Kogoro's obliviousness to Eri's love for him/jealousy to his womanizing ways and Chiba took forever to recognize Naeko was his first love!

(Detective Conan xover;  context, Sato-keiji and Keiwa are acquaintances since before Keiwa’s parents died and Keiwa’s luck at solving crimes unintentionally gave him some infamy among the force, but his situation is unlike Conan who seems to attract a myriad of murder cases)
Sato: Ara, Keiwa-kun!
Keiwa: Sato-keiji!
Sato: Are trying to shop for your girlfriend?
Sato: I see you asked out Neon-chan.
Keiwa: N-no, Sato-keiji, Neon-chan’s a friend.
Keiwa: We’re just here to meet some friends.
Keiwa: *whispers* and please don’t call me because I’m meeting the Ukiyo Ace, so we don’t want to be mobbed.
Sato: Oh, you’re dating the Star of the Stars of the Stars?
Keiwa: It’s not like that, Sato-keiji!
---
Ace: What’s going on?
Neon: People are panicking.
Keiwa: Let’s go check.
---they see people investigating a cordoned off area.
Keiwa: Another case…
Sato: Looks like it’s a suicide case this time, Keiwa-kun.
Sato: Normally I’d blame your presence but there’s someone else inside the mall and murder cases just seem to happen wherever he is.
Keiwa: Eh? But why would you think of me?
Sato: Don’t you remember? You were able to solve some cases yourself, Keiwa-kun.
Keiwa: I wasn’t even trying to solve anything tho.
Sato: That’s why it isn’t on record.
Ace: Eh? The Tyco- *gets hit with Neon’s elbow* Keiwa’s been solving crimes?
Keiwa: It’s not like that.
Conan: Are re re, there’s some weird marks on the man’s hand.
Ran: Conan-kun! How many times do we have to tell you not to bother the investigators.
Keiwa: Is he the one you’re talking about, Sato-keiji? Isn’t he just a kid.
Sato: A really smart kid, assists detectives to solve the cases.
Ace: Awfully young to be helping the investigation, especially around dead bodies.
Sato: We just thought it was the child’s quirkiness.
Keiwa: Ah, that reminds me, say Ace, when was the water-soluble threads invented again?
Ace: The material for those threads were discovered in the 1920s and its was first commercialized in the 1950s.
Ace: Why do you ask?
Keiwa: It was part of the screening process for one of the jobs that I applied to, so I wanted to know if I had answered correctly.
Ace: And you thought I would know the answer.
Keiwa: Of course, knowing how much of a star you are.
-Suddenly a spool of the said material fell on top Keiwa’s head.-
Random person1: Sorry about that, we were playing with my friends.
RP2: Sorry about that.
RP1: What would you do if you had thrown it a container of warm liquid!
Sato: Move along, we don’t want anyone to disturb the crime scene.
RP1: Hai!
Takagi: Of course!
Sato: What is it, Takagi-kun?
Takagi: The culprit must have used those water-solluble threads and made it look like a suicide.
Sato: Hmmm
Sato: Ne, Keiwa-kun, could the thread be used like that.
Keiwa: *looks at Ace and Neon*
Keiwa: Theoretically, yes, but, the whole rope wouldn’t just disappeared if you’re thinking that ropes that tied his hands, because it will only loosen the rope and not dissolve the entire thing.
Sato: That is true…
Keiwa: Not unless a majority of it was inside a glass of warm water and the entire thing dissolved and the remaining part was just conveniently thrown out the window.
----- long story short, Conan wanted to use Keiwa as his sleeping detective but wasn’t able to because he kept on unintentionally dodging the darts and he ended up solving the crime on his own---
Sato: Thanks again, Keiwa-kun.
Keiwa: Like I said, I wasn’t even trying to solve the crime, was just a mere spectator.
Sato: Right, like the other times you’ve been involved.
Geats cast react after the fact?
(sidenote: thinking up of a case for this Detective Conan crossover was hard, like I’m not intelligent enough to make up Detective Conan’s myriad of elaborate cases)
Here we go again with the water soluble threads... why can't it just be fishing line like in that case Heiji first appeared in -_-
As for this whole scenario, I think that the Geats would be partly in awe that Keiwa could solve cases almost entirely by accident... and partly terrified that he's been involved in enough cases that the police are quite familiar with him XD
Also, let's just say that one of Sato and Takagi's officemates does a spectacular spittake when they overhear them contemplating putting Keiwa's name in the case file as a key witness/co-investigator

So we've finished 101 chapter of Detective Conan and it seems to me like it's time for another five volume wrap up.
We've parsed 27 cases total at this point, and so far we can throw out four of those cases from the timeline entirely. Six of those cases are tbd depending on future events. Leaving us with 17 total certainly essential cases.
Including only those cases we're certain are essential to the timeline...
43 days have passed.
21 deaths have occurred.
Bringing our corpses per day number up to approximately one corpse every other day, on average.
(Our grand totals, including everything, right now are 88 days, 28 deaths, giving us about one corpse ever three days, on average.)
(And a whole damn year's worth of seasonal indicators have occurred-- Christmas, then Golden Week, and then summer uniforms, and then back to winter uniforms, and then snow.)
After another year of publication, we've reached 1996. Which means that the anime would have started running at around this point in the series. Our fun facts this wrap up is going to be a short list of Conan staples that haven't appeared yet:
Takagi, Sato, Shiratori. I mean, literally any cop beyond Megure, Matsumoto, and one Yokomizo brother. Ai Haibara, obviously. Eri Kisaki has had one mention, not by name ("this is why mom left you".). Kobayashi isn't teaching our first graders yet. Nobody significant owns a cell phone yet-- murderers at remote cabins are still cutting the phone lines (classic). No Black Org members besides Gin and Vodka (and Akemi)-- in fact, there's yet to even be a concept of "That person" (the boss of the black organization) yet. The joke that Mouri is a shinigami hasn't happened yet. Neither has anyone specifically coined the term "Nemuri no Koguro"! Shinichi has yet to demonstrate any skill in bomb-disarming or gun-firing. Agasa hasn't driven anywhere yet-- in fact, I don't think we've seen the guy any farther from his home than Shinichi's place.

Hi Master Detective, what are your thoughts on Movie 26 now that every (known) character's been disclosed and that Gosho's given a few hints with the submarine? Also, I've read your thoughts about Mary mistrusting Conan, do you think Conan took the picture at random or did he deliberately take a snap of her knowing she was hiding right under?
About Conan taking the photo of Mary in File 952, I definitely believe it was deliberate. He wanted to check just in case if Mary was under the balcony (since the reason he ran to the veranda was because he wanted to find Mary). You can even see his pause after getting distracted by Kokuri where he is likely contemplating Mary's whereabouts and then takes a photo under the balcony "to be on the safe side". The fact that Gosho later revealed Conan to already know that he captured her with that photo further suggests that it was no accident.
Movie 26 thoughts and predictions
We already know that Movie 26 ("Submarine" movie) is gonna be a Sherry/Haibara themed movie, so we can expect Miyano Shiho-centric story. This could mean Amuro having Elena memories while being reminded of Sherry, Agasa having Atsushi memories related to Shiho, Akai having Akemi memories related to her sister and us getting Sherry memories from Gin (or vice versa).
Tumblr media
The standard characters that are expected for the classic BO movie are all the BO members, Conan, Haibara, Ran & Akai. The ones who are noteworthy cast mentions are Agasa, Kuroda, Sato & Shiratori.
It doesn't seem random that Gosho picked Agasa over for example Kogoro. It could be, as I mentioned above, that he is planning on giving Agasa more spotlight in this Sherry movie, since he is essentially her current parental figure and guardian that she holds dear. Possibly by giving us flashbacks to his meeting with her real parents, but at the very least by having him actively help her. It would also be appreciated if we somehow got Agasa-Fusae related references in the movie, through maybe Haibara's favorite Fusae Brand bags.
Tumblr media
I suspect that we'll be getting a Police vs BO type of storyline, where Kuroda is leading the MPD (while hiding his awareness of the enemies' true identity) against the BO, lead by Rum. We might get some Kuroda vs Rum teasers in the movie as well (which would be fitting considering that there is likely a hidden history between them, if Kuroda is Tsutomu and also if Rum is Muga in disguise).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for Sato being a spotlighted character among the cast, it could be that we get Sato-Amuro moments, where we get teasers to their past meeting (during WPS) in the movie.
Tumblr media
As for Shiratori, just like how Kogoro-Eri were the romance spotlight of M22, Sonoko-Makoto were the romance spotlight of M23, Yumi-Shuukichi were the romance spotlight of M24 and Takagi-Sato were the romance spotlight of M25, I could see Shiratori-Kobayashi being the romance spotlight of M26.

Ho Ho Ho Hello! 🎅🏻
It’s „funny“ that seemingly it was a tumblr wide bug that questions got eaten! I saw other blogs complaining about it as well!
Anyway it’s an interesting thought!
Do you have headcanons if any characters might be badly wounded or even die in the end battle? For the drama?
DCMK Exchange Secret Santa
Ugh, I thought it was just a me problem; I tried to save a partial answer as a draft and instead of saving it tumblr froze and the ask disappeared into the aether :/
So, I think there will definitely be injuries, but Gosho has not been very interested in having anyone seriously injured in a way that they don't eventually heal completely from. The sole exception is Kansuke (my beloved) who was injured pre-canon and was presumably created as a character with an injury-related disability. Gosho likes to play fast and loose with medical stuff specifically so that his characters can survive injuries with fewer effects than they'd have IRL, and I don't think he's gonna stop doing that for the finale.
As for deaths, I think there's a chance, but Gosho is, once again, much more comfortable killing people off For Real in the backstory than in the present of the story. He has done it, but a lot of the notable incidents were earlier in the series; I think as DC went on he became (understandably!) more nervous about making permanent alterations to the cast.
I think there's a very good chance that at least one of the spies will either get killed or be thought dead for an extended period of time. I think Camel is probably at the highest risk of this; I think Rei would be a narratively resonant and painful choice too but that he's too popular for Gosho to do that with. Hidemi could also be in danger, but it's been a while since she's been a foreground character and killing her off would not be as impactful now as it would have been like a decade ago.
I think probably most or all of the Japanese police will survive; Takagi's gonna have a near death experience for sure and Sato's gonna lose her mind about it for a bit but they'll both pull through. If Gosho lets the Nagano police be involved, they'll also have some close calls probably. Megure might get shot again, but again, I don't think he'll be killed or seriously injured.
Heiji is also gonna be injured, probably in a way that looks very serious, but again, I think he'll recover without issue. If KID is allowed to show up for the DC finale, he will probably seem to be dead at some point but will turn up later completely uninjured. Ran, Kogoro, and Sonoko will all be in serious peril but none of them will actually get hurt except maybe Kogoro.
As far as antagonists are concerned, I don't feel like the series can end with Gin alive. I would bet on Akai being the one to kill him, but I could be wrong. Probably several other major Black Org characters will also die (specifically of falling off something/being buried under debris/something else indirect), and I would be willing to bet that Vermouth will go out in a way that makes the police believe her dead but leaves Shinichi suspecting that she survived.
I'd *love* if Shinichi got injured in some significant way, because I think it would be symbolic of the impact of this whole thing on his life and because it would increase the Shinichi & Kansuke parallels that I live for, but I do not think it'll actually happen. Every single "Shinichi is injured in a disabling way post Black Org showdown" fanwork lives in my heart, though.
On a related note, I really feel it would be more narratively satisfying if Shinichi ended up with some sort of heart issues post-APTX-4869-cure. I know the part where the temporary cures caused heart issues/were super dangerous was just Gosho's way of making it so he could have Shinichi be fullsize occasionally while still keeping him as Conan most of the time, but at this point, with all of Ai's fussing, it'll feel a little narratively cheap to me if he goes back to being a teenager with absolutely no health complications whatsoever.
I hope you're having a wonderful day and thank you so much for the ask!

I got you. I would have requested something for Gin a long time ago if it wasn't because of how his character is. Almost all the ideas I have will make him 100% out of character, and nothing goes well with him unless its dark concepts/topics which don't follow your blog. So I don't blame you not knowing how to end that story. Otherwise it would have turned into something that needs a lot of trigger warnings 😂🌸. I am looking forward to your next stories, including Yamato 💙🙏. Burbon is a lovely guy, sometimes 😂 but still good. My 2nd favourite character after Gin. Who is your fav ?
This is honestly such a hard question that I won't even able to narrow it down to a top 5.
I mean, I obviously find Gin quite interesting and enjoy his character, just as Bourbon's character, but I also really like the whole FBI squad, especially Akai and Camel.
Of course I really like more popular characters like Kaito Kid as well, but I wouldn't necessarily say he's one of my favourites.
However I do have a very soft spot for the police department, especially the Nagano trio, the tokyo police department (with spot on Sato, Shiratori and Takagi) and the two Yokomizo brothers.
I don't know why but I have a true fable for side characters XD
If I had to narrow it down to five characters however, I would have to go with Gin, Akai, Shiratori, Yamato and Komei, with Bourbon, Jodie and Camel close to it.
It's honestly so hard for me, which isn't usually the case and just shows how good most of those characters are. Sorry if that's not a good answer but I seriously can't decide

Watched 446-451 tonight!
Gotta admit the window looked creepier in the manga. But you can be more dramatic in black and white I suppose.
I wanna say that mistaking a fish for a knife is dumb but I am sure I have done dumber things so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I love Sato and Takagi so all their stuff is great even though for a wedding episode it doesn't actually have too much to do with their relationship. Why a wedding hall wants to advertise with that picture is something I still don't understand to this day but fair enough.
Finally every murder mystery show needs a magician to drown live on stage in a water tank. I don't make the rules.

Dcmk soulmate fic, please?
okay!!
it's a detective conan/magic kaito fic that i'm trying to write for eeby deeby's latest challenge, which is playing with the soulmate trope. i don't really have any writing to it so far, cause a lot of it's been planning what i actually want to do with it (and also abandoning it for other wips rip).
the whole premise of the fic is that haibara/shiho and conan/shinichi are platonic soulmates and they both have to go through character arcs to accept this. haibara because she's very much not willing to let another person that close to her and shinichi because he literally doesn't even realise that soulbonds CAN be platonic and is like /:< at the idea of being soulbonded to haibara and not ran.
(i mean, as someone who just. really doesn't like sh*nran in any universe where shinichi becomes conan and they get that sibling like bond, there's going to be an arc that sort of deconstructs their romantic feelings for each other both with the wedge shinichi meeting his soulmate has put between them and with all the distance and lies)
anyway takagi and sato aren't soulmates but love each other very much, hattori and kazuha are romantic soulmates who've said 'ahaha i would NEVER date you, this must be platonic' so many times they've friend zoned each other, and kaitou KID is just chilling with his platonic soulbond to his dead father.

DCMK Ship Meme
Here's my filled-out version of @/ natsunombrs_DC's DCMK ship meme from Twitter.
Tumblr media
Explanation of each ship/line color:
Red:
A red line means that this is my all-time favorite ship, and I'm absolutely obsessed with it. Do I have a problem? Maybe. Am I going to do anything about it? Other than make more fan content for them, no.
Ship(s) under this color:
AkAm
Pink:
A pink line (or circle) means that while I'm not quite as obsessed with this ship, I still very much enjoy it.
Ship(s) under this color (not listed in any particular order):
Whiskey Trio
ScotchRye
HiroRei
Nagano Trio
Jodie x Camel
ShinRan
KaiShin
HeiKazu
Sato x Takagi
Sera x Ran
Sonoko x Ran
HagiMatsu
HeiShin
Matsuda x Rei
Kazuha x Ran
Yellow:
A yellow line can mean one of two things. Either I like a ship but not as much as the ships under the pink or red categories, or I don't know enough about one or all of the characters or their relationship in canon to have much of an opinion.
Ship(s) under this color (again, not listed in any particular order):
Rei x Kazami
Akai x Jodie
Akai x Kazami (I didn't actually mean to draw the line there, but when I thought about it, it's actually kind of a cool concept)
Sonoko x Makoto
CoAi (or Shinichi x Shiho)
Vermouth x Kir
Gin x Vodka
GinSherry
Kobayashi x Shiratori
Kogoro x Megure
Kogoro x Eri
Eri x Yukiko
Yusaku x Yukiko
Mary x Tsutomu
Vermouth x Yukiko
Gin x Vermouth
Green:
A green line (or circle) means that I enjoy the dynamic between the characters as a platonic relationship or a familial relationship.
Ship(s) and (found) families under this color:
Akai, Rei, Shinichi
Shinichi, Shiho/Haibara, Detective Boys, Agasa
Akai, Jodie, Camel
Akai siblings
Olive (you know, it would be nice if Tumblr had a few more text color options):
An olive line means that my opinion on a ship is somewhere between passively shipping and NOTP territory. While I don't like the ship, I also don't actively despise it, and I can still see why the ship appeals to others even if it doesn't to me.
Ship(s) under this color:
Akai x Akemi (I very much dislike ships between family members, but their relationship was so tragic in canon that I can't hate it entirely)
AkaiGin
AmuAzu (I do like them as friends, though, plus I've seen fan art for them and it's honestly pretty cute)
Sato x Matsuda
Black:
Self-explanatory, a black line means that the ship is a NOTP for me.
Ship(s) under this color:
Akai x Shiho (something about the idea of Akai finally moving past the dead woman he's still hung up on, only to start dating her sister does not sit entirely right with me)
Rei x Elena
Here's the original template if anyone wants it:

Shuichi Akai Emotional Line
Previously I've found some accurate evidence about this CP, so I tried to analyze it, and it took 10 years to prove this cp is real, maybe this CP is a little controversial, and some readers almost don't want to accept or close their eyes to this CP, and sadly  some of these CP fans who have so few fans hiding  because it was hit by a thunder storm, and the actions of some people who spread hatred on others for the sake of paper people.  Once again I emphasize as long as the author wants to draw it like that, you have no right to spread hatred.
First of all I feel that Conan's emotional line portrayal has a strict style that a reasoning comic should have.  CP who wants to be described in detail will definitely make detailed explanations and progress.  For example, Takagi and Sato have published several Police Department love stories.  Shiratori and Kobayashi also have an image of the gradual heating of their relationship and the irreplaceable misunderstandings used to promote their relationship.  Chiba and Miike are very dramatic, unable to recognize first love, not to mention Shin-Ran and Hei-Kazu who are sprinkled with petty love scenes throughout the book.
Seeing this, as long as Gosho wants to form CP, he will cast quite a lot of shadow.  Unfortunately from the point of view of Shuichi-Akemi and Shuichi-Judy's past, Gosho doesn't pave the way for both parties in an interaction that warms their feelings.  While it's a bit harsh to say this, Gosho really doesn't show any concern for Akemi or Judy in the comics, not to mention any further emotional portrayal.  From this, it could be seen that Gosho had absolutely no intention of forming these two CPs.  At least let Judy get her revenge on Vermouth, and become FBI boss in the future.
Frankly, it's basically impossible for a CP who doesn't have clues and shadows to become an official CP in Conan Because CP involves the emotional line of the character, and then involves character development, it can even be said to be part of the character growth of the two people involved in CP.
Just like Shin-Ran, the influence and significance of the two sides to each other was very important.  If one role is omitted, the establishment of other roles will definitely not be complete.  For Conan one of the important motivations for him to take action in order to meet his childhood lover Maori Ran who is very important to him, he wants to restore his body, or to protect her, it can be said that Conan's driving force is Maori Ran.  Therefore, forming a CP is basically the same as forming a character, there must be various details and layouts, and will never be skipped.
When Gosho portrays CP, it also focuses on portraying the influence of the two sides on each other, and that is a positive influence.
 For example,
 1. Shiratori started to become a police officer because of the cherry blossoms straw that Kobayashi gave him.
 2. Haneda Shukichi inspired by his encounter with Yumi and has the motivation to challenge the seven crowns.
 3. Miike always remembers the traffic rules because of Chiba.
 4. Fushae also remembers Professor's warm words praising her hair like ginkgo leaves.
Currently, the CP depicted by Gosho is very warm, and the plot description of each CP when they are in love is also a very heartwarming plot, so it can be seen that Conan's portrayal of CP tends to be positive and warm.
Then, let's look at Shuichi-Haibara.  Shuichi initially had a complicated face, and  now he is happy, fond of children, his monitoring, his personal protection, and delivery of food after disguise.  Then saw Haibara who was gradually becoming cheerful, loosened her guard, became more relaxed.
I can confirm that Gosho is intentionally portraying the positive influence the two have on each other, and this is one of Gosho's requirements for portraying CP.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(By the way, in the Scarlet chapter, Shuichi , who did you eavesdropping?)
How would you like to see Shuichi-Haibara's CP?.
First Gosho is not just a childhood lover control.  Of all the types of CP he forms the equation is pure love.  For example, Kogoro likes young girls, but his love is only for Eri.  Regardless of age or whatever, the definition of love for Gosho is pure love to be true love.  So if you want to see this CP, you have to think from the start Shuichi treated Haibara as a woman, and there was a genuine feeling of wanting to protect her.
1. Shuichi ambiguous treatment for Haibara.
Starting from the promise of protection that Rye said for Sherry. According to some people this promise is just an ordinary promise that will be displayed in the final stages of the battle. On the other hand I think Gosho wrote this promise of protection to Akai during the Rye period there must be a story behind it, and not just an ordinary promise, there must be a preposition and a back sentence. Akai wasn't the type to make promises like this easily. He is not conan the hero of justice. He only has one life. So this promise is a very important promise to a person who is very precious to him. This promise of protection also affected his emotional line which also influenced his actions which resulted in his failure. If Akai's emotions weren't affected in any way, he might already be at the top of the organization, and managed to find out the facts about his father's case.
At first Akai uses everyone as his tool just to find the truth about his missing father, the line of emotion here is negative. Then he sacrifices Jody to destroy the organization, the emotional line is negative. Suddenly who knows when he said this promise of protection to Miyano Shiho, his line of emotion turned positive. So what was the reason Shuichi changed his resolve? Right now the answer that comes to mind is love. Gosho himself has a point of view about pure love. Like Amuro who likes Elena. So I think Shuichi's first love wasn't Jody, lover doesn't mean love. Just like the Akemi he used to get to know Shiho. Akai's relationship with Jody is also due to her relationship with Vermouth. Seeing the way Akai treats Camel and Jody, he treats Camel better, but he has a bad mouth with Jody. Camel even knows better about Akai's favorite whiskey. Jody doesn't know anything about Akai, So Jodie's guess about Akai in the red and black chapter can’t be trusted

There was an interview that asked this before, (I read the original interview in Japanese) and Gosho was a little confused about the answer, he replied that Akemi who lived in his heart was because Akemi had died, appreciation for the dead is to remember her in the heart. Like Akai who will always remember Scotch in his heart. So regardless of their age, Shuichi's feelings were purely wanting to protect the person he loved. So that could explain some of Subaru's redundant protective measures.
Next from Shiho's point of view. She is a girl who is strong on the outside but longs for love and needs someone on the inside. Even though she said she didn't need protection, it wasn't true. She recognized Shuichi with just one sentence, and instantly remembered his unforgettable promise of protection. She started to believe in Conan because Conan risked his life to save her from danger. She started to rely on Maori Ran and felt that she was protecting her like her sister. This meaning of protecting was a very precious thing to Shiho.
2. The misunderstanding between Shuichi and Shiho.
Conan as a third party believes that the organization killed Akemi because of Shuichi's relationship, so he thinks when Shiho confronts Shuichi she will be angry and even hate him. Conan thinks that way because he missed the opportunity to save her sister due to his incompetence. Haibara was angry and cried infront of him. Until the bus case Conan sacrifices himself to save her, and then she starts to believe in Conan, but the fact is not, which are actually Ayumi who influenced it. Haibara refuses Conan's protection. This meant that this promise of protection really had a big impact on her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The picture of Shiho remembering Shuichi illustrates the following problem: First, Shiho remembers Shuichi without hatred. Second, Shiho didn't know Shuichi's real identity. The organization did not link Akemi's death to Shuichi’s disguise, and withheld information about Shuichi's true identity from Shiho. In Shiho's mind, Shuichi was not the culprit who killed Akemi. When Shiho appeared on the scene, she had already emphasized that the organization killed her sister. She also doesn't hate Shuichi because of Akemi's death. Shiho remembered Shuichi only two descriptions, one was her sister's boyfriend, and the other was the one who betrayed the organization. Both of them hinted at Shiho's previously mentioned feelings, and Gosho had alluded to these two aspects. Shiho misunderstands that Shuichi is the sister's boyfriend and the one who betrayed the organization.
  • Sister’s boyfriend means that Shuichi did not tell Shiho about his fake relationship, and did not explain his identity and purpose of joining the organization to Shiho, and based on this pretending to be a couple with Akemi was one of the misunderstandings between them.
• The one who betrayed the organization meant Shuichi left without saying goodbye. Why didn't Shuichi explain everything to Shiho before catching Gin? Why did Shuichi leave without saying goodbye to Shiho? The one who said that he would protect her with his life just disappeared. The implication is that he said he wanted to protect her with his life, but why did he leave her. This is the biggest misunderstanding between them.

  3. Hints on the Scarf
Subaru cars have a total of two doors. Shiho had to take off the scarf and walk to the side door like the animation team did, but she climbed up on Shuichi's thigh (in reality, the space in the car was narrower), but Shiho subconsciously crawled on his thigh without any shame. This wasn't something a woman could do to a grown man she didn't know, or even a grown man she knew, and Gosho drew it on purpose. In chapter 1072, this is the first and only time Gosho positively describes Shiho's feelings for Shuichi. The real relationship between Shiho and Shuichi must be very close, trusting each other, and feeling comfortable with each other.
4. Shuichi's Revenge.
At that time, Shiho was already under his protection. So he could get his revenge when he reunited with Gin, this revenge doesn't only refers to Akemi but also Shiho. His revenge he couldn't do 2 years ago, because Shiho was still in the organization, if he acted then, Shiho would be in danger. Shuichi felt sorry for Shiho for not being able to protect her when she was in such a dangerous situation in her life. Because of his incompetence caused many tragedies to happen to Shiho such as her shrinking body, she was willing to be shot dead by Vermouth, and the death of her older sister. Even though Shuichi doesn't really love Akemi, she is still a precious sister to Shiho. Therefore, Shuichi thought of Akemi, and remembering her in his heart was a normal. This kind of feeling was not contradictory at all, just as Conan would try his best to protect Maori Ran while thinking of Ai. You can't say that Conan is a jerk just because he thinks of two people at the same time, but his love can only be given to one person.

Inspector Meguire
I've been reading the Case Closed Manga, and got nostalgic for the anime, so decided to boot it up for background noise and I have to say, Inspector Meguire is easily in my top five favorite characters. I first started watching Case Closed when I wasn't even a teen yet, so back then I never really appreciated him but now I do.
Even though he deals in cases of murder and worse, he always gets a quip or two in. In episode 3, when they got to Yòko's place, he says, "So you unlock your door and there's a stiff new addition to your furniture," so casually.
Then there's the fact he's basically the Junior Detective League's exhausted uncle and has to keep Richard in line too, even when Takagi and Sato are introduced to help take some load off of him, he's the main inspector, head of the department so he still has to deal with them.
I also got through how he met his wife recently and the story is so cute after it's shown she lived after that ordeal, and how reactive he still is about things similar to that case.
I just think he deserves more love an appreciation for helping keep them all on track and having to deal with kids at crime scenes lol

About BNHA?
The fandom needs to chill their shit, they are a big reason so many people don't wanna touch the anime or manga. Hell, even I didn't wanna watch the show at first because I heard a lot of shit about how unhinged the BNHA fandom was
As for the show/manga...well I don't know if these are "hot" takes since they're pretty common sense but I wanna list them anyway:
Hakagure's lack of an outfit is fucking stupid. "Oh she's invisible an outfit would give her away!" Shut up. Mirio CANONICALLY has his costume made with his own hair fibers so that his costume can function with his quirk. They can do the absolute same for Hakagure. A teenage girl, a MINOR, shouldn't be naked in public, invisible or not.
SPEAKING OF OUTFITS Momo's hero outfit also sucks. I get she creates objects and they come out her skin, but does she ACTUALLY need so much of her skin uncovered? I can understand having her arms uncovered for ease of access with smaller items, and I can understand her outfit being open-back for larger stuff! But this girl, ALSO A MINOR, shouldn't be forced to be exposed so much like that just because of her quirk.
Sato's design is uncomfortable and sus at best. I've watched enough of older anime (looking at you Dragon Ball series) to pick up on racist designs. And it makes it confusing because! BNHA literally has this guy, Ken Takagi, who looks fine!

It just!!! Boggles my mind!
I have a lot more things but they're moreso petty tiny things and it's like 12 AM as of tying this so I'm tired and I don't wanna tired rant
