I know I talk about a lot of machines on this account but I will say now, first and foremost, that my favorite machine OF ALL TIME is the Fabrication Machine from 9

It is seriously one of the most gorgeous designs for a machine I’ve ever seen. Its story, its design, its sounds, its motives…AUGH.

Completely out of no where but does the fabrication machine from 9 remind anyone else of AM? Like the two kind of have the same vibe and backstory going on, like it is creepily similar. However personally I would the fabrication machine is somehow scarier than AM, mostly cause it seems far more efficient and alien. I also find it a whole lot sadder than AM somehow. Idk probably a hot take lol

You ever look at 5 when 2 is the topic of the shot/discussion and just see the pure emotion all over his face

Like when 5 realizes 2 wasn’t slumped over dead in the cage, he has the most happy and relieved look on his face. Same for after 2 is saved

After Fabby awakens and 2 is killed, he’s the most angry he is in the entire movie. Like he probably could’ve killed 9 if he wanted to (but he’d never do that)

I know it's been like a really long time since you've written any 9 fanfics but I've been really enjoying them and I really love Child. I was curious if 1) there was any fanart of him and 2) if you'd be ok with me making fanart of him

But yeah I've mostly been reading the oneshots or the fics with only a few chapters but I started Souls Run Deep and I really love it (I'm on chapter 9 right now)

Oh, thank you so much! 8D There's a little fanart, but nothing I have on hand. I'd have to get it off my Onedrive- if I remember, I'll do that later today. ^_^

And I'm totally fine with getting fanart done- downright thrilled, actually! I've updated Child's design, but I haven't been able to implement it yet. See, I was working on a fix/rewrite of Souls Run Deep- I still am, I just bit off too many projects at once- and one of the things that was going to be introduced was this new design.

Basically Child was going to have a red vest ingrained in his fabric- sort of like how 2's is, with an attached hood and the Machine insignia on the back to replace a number. I thought it was a neat little upgrade! Child was technically an earlier born Stitchpunk, so it would make sense that his design paid homage to 2 and the twins.

But I'm so glad you like them! 8D I hope it keeps your attention for a while, because it's a long fic. ^_^

Were any humans paranoid enough to take measures when the “Great War” first began?

We know the Fabrication Machine turned against humans and dropped poisonous gas strong enough to stamp out organic life. The War lasted for months from what the movie showed affecting many nations. And the tweets promoting it sprinkled in some additional lore. A walker dropped poisonous gas on ally soldiers after shooting rounds at enemies. B.R.A.I.N or the Fabrication Machine was pushed to its limits churning out robots. While we don’t know how much it can feel without a soul, anger and frustration seem to be the main ones.

So there must have been people besides the Rebels who saw signs of it being pushed. They might have prepared for the worst like making somewhat bomb shelters. I can only imagine soldiers telling their families the truth about machines turning on humans. Not sure how long supplies could last in a bomb shelter back then, but it gives humanity a chance. When you consider that rope Nine was attached to had worn away enough to break. Months probably years passed before he became conscious.

I don’t imagine many humans survived if this was the case. The silence between them and machines around the world might mean they had to hide extremely well. Only the Cat Beast was active as far as we know before Nine activated the Fabrication Machine. Which was bound to happen with him natural curiosity.

(Not my best theory, but one that has been on the back burner for a while.)
