4 Tabletop Games on Kickstarter you NEED to check out!

Tabletop games are a guilty pleasure of mine, and it is a darn shame I do not play too many of them as often as I can, but I was scrolling through Kickstarter after one of my friends sent a link, so down the rabbit hole I went! Anyways, here are four of the ones that piqued my interest!

1. Familiars and Foes by Horrible Adorables

In this magical strategy board game, you play as one of five elemental familiars to your witch/wizard as they have been…KIDNAPPED! Throughout the game you build up your chosen familiar to become a formidable foe against the foes themselves.  

Players: 1-5, with each campaign being anywhere from 20-90 minutes.

Is this Project Funded? Not fully, but very close! This project is an all or nothing one as well, meaning it might get scrapped completely if not fully funded.

Pledge Amount Needed for the game itself: $49.00 USD.

Date the Project Closes Funding: November 3rd, 2022.

Estimated Release: August 2023.

2. Heists in Hyperspace by Time Loop Games

Take control as captain of your very own Treasure Hunting Crew! Take an out of this world, intergalactic journey as you and other rival Treasure Hunters go head-to-head to see who can collect the most Renown. Though do be sure to plan both your moves and resources accordingly!

Players: 2-4 in a campaign that is planned for 60 minutes.

Is this Project Funded? Not quite but it’s a little over halfway there. Just like the previous entry, it is also an All or Nothing.

Pledge Amount Needed for the game itself: $32.00 USD as an early bird bonus!

Date the Project Closes Funding: November 3rd, 2022.

Estimated Release: April 2023.

Fun Fact, this project is AAPI made, as Time Loop Games are based in Singapore.  

3. Starsworn: Compendium Adventure by Michael Low

In this choose your own adventure, you take the reins on your own story and only you can determine what happens next. This child friendly game also serves as a learning experience on characterization, writing, and reading as well as the art of storytelling. A great introduction to roleplaying for the kids as well.

Players: Are not listed but are you really planning on playing this game by yourself? Come on now…

Is this Project Funded? YES!

Pledge Amount Needed for the game itself: $15.00 USD if you want the downloadable PDF (this will be the only version you’ll be able to access to if you reside outside of the US). $25.00 USD for a physical copy.

Date the Project Closes Funding: November 19th, 2022.

Estimated Release: November 2022 (PDF) December 2022 (Physical).

Fun Fact, this game is co-created by Daniel Hinds, the writer of Stories Podcast. You will also need three (3) six (6) sided dice.

4. Koriko: A Magical Year by Jack Harrison (Mousehole Press)

In this single player board game, you, a teenage witch, decide how your year away from home goes. Study your magic? Become friendly with the other towns people (confidants)? Hunt for treasure? You decide in this game!

Players: 1

Is this Project Funded? YES overwhelmingly so as well (a very very good thing cause I AM HOOKED IN!!!!).

Pledge Amount Needed for the Game itself: $14.00 USD for a PDF version, and $32.00 USD for a physical copy.

Date the Project Closes Funding: November 7th, 2022.

Estimated Release: September 2023.

reen ive seen on twitter that you are also a d20/ch fan. if dsg had to live in one of the d20 universes which one do you think they would like best

this is a very fun question! i think either acofaf for the obvious pining and drama or starstruck for the chaos for sure

for acofaf i can see suga maybe being an archfey of the trickster court or maybe someone like the lords of the wing where he just wants to have fun and wreak havoc, and daichi being someone like hob who dedicates himself to his court and is very good at what he does but isn't rly appreciated by them and finds himself for the first time ever being liked by this mischievous fey for just being himself and doesn't have to work for it

for starstruck maybe daichi is the owner of a ship who doesn't want to get involved with all the mess happening with the corporations and planet governments and one day suga who has somehow gotten into trouble with one or two(or five) of these groups got into his ship and uh-oh they were actually childhood best friends raised on the same moon until one day suga left to explore the universe

it's all so abstract i'm not a writer but i think these would be so cool to imagine!

#ummm idk what else to say #tbh tho i think im so apathetic bcs i woke up at 7am to watch it bee four school #so i think im just like too deluded and tired to really feel something 😵‍💫 #but surface level thoughts. it was neat. neat concepts. also looks like the next ep is gonna be the 'nimbus one' #even tho i dont know if he'll show up anymore i kinda doubt it since storylord was the . familiar foe or whatever they called him #which was surprising but i guess fitting considering the episode . #uuuhhghhh i guess im glad the um. wedding joke was like a one off thing. every other gesture of affection is like actually endearing #instead of cringy #ok idk. i'll gather my thoughts. we'll regroup in about 12hrs

i could be like entirely wrong but i like that gerbo is only super agreeable to the things bugbo says and suggests him to do because he likes him and they’re best friends. i feel like the way he acts around bugbo could be mistaken as gerbo being a gullible person who has no backbone but based off his interactions with other characters i feel like its safe to say thats wrong! both cases were already tense situations but when seen talking with characters like quentin and thomas gerbo clearly can tell that whatever they’re doing is wrong and further he doesn’t even remotely need bugbo’s voice to tell him that. like he just flat out calls thomas evil after talking to him for like 2 minutes he’s not a 100% pushover lol. my main point apart from gerbo is smarter than most probably think is he’s so easily swayed by bugbo because he trusts him so much and he KNOWS him he knows bugbo only has everyone’s best interest in mind and nothing he tells him would be to harm him

#i really love the thought that gerbo is like super comforted by the way bugbo is while most others are put off if anything #i think to other people in the globe Gerbo IS seen as just a gullible pushover and people will often try yk deceive him #which is one of the reasons why he loves bugbo’s blunt to-the-point personality. like if he thinks something he’ll say it he doesn’t care #and that’s how gerbo is too!!!! theyre so similar!!!!!!! #what particularly makes me think this is in familiar foe when bugbo is missing at the start of the ep and gerbo is like #SO upset and unnerved by such a small thing like bugbo not showing up to where he said he’d be #because he knows how true to his word bugbo always is and he absolutely loves it #putting this part in the tags cuz it’s . not really the point exsctly. i just love them so much #bugbo #i need to drop my habit of not posting stuff in my drafts Ever im posting this NOW
