i am currently catching up on neon void, and it is a delight to read. your descriptions of leo’s mind is mesmerizing and grabs the reader’s attention so well. it’s very diverse and unique compared to other interpretations and fics♥️

i’m curious to know what your thinking process was like while writing leo’s insanity and his own thought processes.

(spoilers for ch11) the scene that stuck out to me the most was when leo was about to infect donnie. it felt so vulnerable and raw ahh

tbh i sat on this one for a while to think of how to dive into it-- beware of my (VERY) long ramblings below!

this question really got me Thinkin' and i kinda popped off but!! If i may indulge myself, here's sort of a wild explanation of how i approach Leo's Insane Brain for this specific fic:

does it meet R.I.S.E???

R - Realistic? I - Interesting? S - Silly? E - Existential?

R - Realistic

"How the hell do i make this sound realistic" is often an obstacle i run into. but it's also the Secret Sauce. What really gives the thought process direction. Given Leo's current situation, he's battling between what he wants and what he needs to do. Which is often a very real problem real people have. Exaggerating it helps create a fun back-and-forth dialog that can make his thoughts seem muddled.

With Leo in this fic’s setup, there are about five main key factors i rely on with his decision making:

Happiness The root of Leo’s general personification. He’s the guy who beat Krang One. The one who escaped a place worse than Hell. After years of missing home so much he’s FINALLY home. He’s drunk on happiness. He was finally home. And that relief and joy is what makes him so jubilant and goofy.

Awareness of his goal Though Rise Leo is a very funny dude, he's still a Leonardo. Throughout the series, Leo is the voice of reason when things are getting out of hand or are potentially dangerous. Leo's had nothing but time to think. Wishing what he'd done different. Wishing he had been more serious. After five years obsessing over his mistake and missing his family, the moment he see's the opportunity to make sure this never happens again he'll latch onto it. And when the stakes are high, accentuating that tension can help with frantic impact of his thinking.

His desire to see his family This desire often clashes with point number 2. Writing his internal struggle between the two helps with the “overwhelmed thoughts” vibe. It’s hard for him to choose! And he doesn’t wanna have to choose! Playing out the conflict between his 'want' vs his 'need to do' helps me bring out his nervous thinking process.

He's self-reprimanding thoughts We all love an Angsty Leo. It was hinted in the show that he had some self-esteem issues, but who doesn't love ramping it up to 11 for a fic??? That, and he was trapped with Krang this whole time. After hearing he was nothing but trash for five years PLUS the guilt of nearly ending the world, the guy doesn't exactly see himself in a great light you know? This can help clash with point 1, again helping with that 'what he wants' vs 'what he needs to do' inner conflict.

Instinct to Survive / Feral Tendencies This one is super fun. I love feral AUs/tropes. With little to no socialization in the Prison Dimension, Leo's sanity started to slip, leaving his body's natural instincts to become more profound. Plus, with the Krang Parasite, I like to exaggerate how feral/dangerous he could be outside of 'turtle' instincts. (Seeing that parasite hosts in the movie were very violent). Sprinkling in feral moments is just a delicious thrill I love adding, and it makes the insanity factor skyrocket and it's so fun to write 🩵🩵🩵

I - Interesting

Is Leo's thought process interesting to read??? Honestly, I just gun for what I think is the most interesting; Leo's relationship with his brothers (especially Raph), and the cause and effects of his shenanigans.

Also, I liked to experiment with wonky texts to help emphasize key moments or words to grab attention. Mostly because it feels like a fun surprise to read them in my opinion. Though not necessary in writing, I thought using some funky fonts might entice and excite 💙

S- Silly

THE BIG ONE!!! EVERYONE'S FAVORITE!!! 🎉🎊🥳🎉 Something I really love love love about Rise's style is that it's silly It's unique! It's fun! I love that Leo and the others are goofy and have some slap-stick moments. And I wanted to keep that with Leo despite everything. Plus, I ADORE that in this iteration of TMNT, the characters are such showmen. They are DRAMATIC. They are SILLY. And that's something I wanna celebrate!! Plus, as much as I love angst, writing nothing but pure angst is exhausting. (And I'm sure reading pure angst isn't enjoyably to everyone.) Throwing in Silly moments is like a little moment of refreshment to me 🩵

I also like to believe that Leo kept his sense of humor out of sheer SPITE. The 'wipe that stupid grin off your face' line in the movie really stuck with me. I feel like Leo would smile through his fear and still be a clown just to spite Krang One.

E - Existential

At the end of the day, Leo is dealing with a VERY big issue. I felt like the Rise movie did an excellent job portraying the severity of an alien invasion for the setting Rise had. And the weight of the situation would be too great for one person. And this is often what I refer back to to make Leo snap. A relapse in clarity of mind. A moment for the panic and PTSD to come back in full force and make him rely on his instincts. Usually the feral instincts he became more attuned with while fleeing/fighting Krang One. It also goes hand-in-hand with his awareness of his goal (as mentioned in 'Realistic' above).

And that's kinda a word-vomit of how it goes!! Honestly??? The tug-o-war between conflicting thoughts helps me write the madness in his head. It's been super fun and interesting, and I hope it's been fun to read!!! (Though I'm telling you now I will NOT be doing those floating text tables again OOF)

The lair was quiet that afternoon, the atmosphere sullen and slow. Raph and Leo were lying about; Raph with his arm around his younger brother while Leo had himself busy with a comic in his hands. Earlier, Donnie had gotten upset with how Leo still refused to talk to him, so he'd left with Casey to the hidden city to search for spare parts just to clear his head and be alone. Casey had only tagged along for company and protection. This left Raph alone with a sulking Leo to talk to. The twins had been distant with each other since Donnie had revived Leon from the dead. Having accused him of going way too far with that, Leo had gone quiet towards him, avoiding what was formerly his closest brother. Raph couldn't get any progress with mending their relationship, and he was just wishing Mikey was still there.... he would have helped them so much better than Raph could. And now... Raph was sitting there, pitying himself as he kept his brother company. It was his idea that Casey went with Donnie on his outing because he didn't want to leave either of them alone while emotions were still sore.

At some point, the stress got to him, and he nodded off to sleep. He awoke two hours later to a loud thud in the main room. Blinking, he muttered a quiet "Sorry." to Leon as he pushed him away so he could stand up to check it out. Raph poked his head out his bedroom door only to see Casey rushing past. He was moving quickly, but Raph still clearly saw the bloody trail he was leaving behind as he cradled Donnie in his arms, taking him straight to the med bay. With a gasp, Raph shot a glance back at Leo and gestured for him to follow before he jogged after the harpy. "Casey! What happened?! Is he alright?" he asked, already panicking. When he entered the med bay, he got a good look at Donnie's condition. He was covered in bruises and scratches along his limbs and one cheek, but the worst of it was the bite marks. One on his leg, covered in dirt and still bleeding, and one on his neck, messy and torn, still dripping. Raph was frozen for a moment as he watched his brother's wide eyes and gasping face while Casey scrambled to clean and patch the wounds. Leon had arrived by then and immediately rushed to Casey's side, helping him to attach a heart monitor and wrap some of the wounds. He looked truly panicked. Seeing him like this snapped Raph out of his shock, and he also joined them. "Casey.... what happened?" he asked, repeating what he'd said earlier. "I don't really know, I looked away for a couple minutes, and there was just this... thing... attacking him. Some kind of weasel mutant, but it wasn't acting right... It was like... feral.. or something. I don't know. We fought it off, but he went down immediately after." Casey explained, finishing up with the bite on Donnie's leg. His hands were a shaking mess as he fumbled with the bandages, but eventually, he finished.

Donnie's eyes had shut now, and he was out. He would have looked like he was just sleeping peacefully if it wasn't for all the bandages and his increasingly weak breathing. The three of them were silent for some time before Leo finally spoke up. "The hidden city will have better resources. We gotta take him bac-" he was cut off by the sharp noise of the heart monitor flatlining, taking the breath out of the room as their softshell brother ceased moving. None of them moved for only a few seconds, though it felt like forever. Almost as if time had stopped and only that eerie beeping remained.

How they interact with you (Feral AU Donnie and Mikey)

(All characters are portrayed as 18+ unless stated otherwise) ------------------

- Donnie is more distant and passive aggressive with you at first. His shell is exposed for the most part here, so he is on the defensive 24/7. He prefers watching you from a distance, never turning his back to you and keeping his sights on your movements any time you two encounter each other. When he finally eases up and declares you trustworthy, he relaxes around you. He doesn't watch you as closely but does like to follow you around. Humans and their technology fascinate him deeply, and now that he has a human to learn more about it you bet he's going to use it. He is probably the one that breaks into your house the most, tinkering and messing with your appliances while you're asleep or not home. You've come home plenty of times with your tv taken apart, the oven on fire and a very panicked soft shell retracted into his shell and hissing at your beeping smoke detector. His shenanigans are certainly the most expensive to deal with alongside with Mikey. Donnie will often come to you with parts he's found, or a book he wants you to read to him so he can understand the contents. It's hard to speak with the turtles at first, but Donnie seems to be a quick learner. He is the first to at least understand what you are saying to some degree and tries his best to mimic your words. Most times after you speak, he will stutter and mumble some words you had said back to you. "Tree. . . treecherous." "Treacherous." "Treecherous." "No-" Donnie will often have you in his lap while you read, so he can lay his head against you and try to read along with you. He will point at any pictures or long looking words for you to explain more to him. This is the most he will ever touch you at one time in the early stages of your relationship with the turtles.

- Mikey is the friendliest and inviting upon first meeting you. He is quick to befriend you, and is the most clingy. He will legit try to follow you home the first day, and if you don't let him he will be happily waiting for you in the same spot you left him the following days until you return. His gift giving habits are almost as frequent as Leo's, but instead with his art! Painted rocks are his main go to, he scatters them along your yard for you to find whenever you do yard work or want to simply relax outside without going into the woods that surround your home. Often times he will try to bring his art to you, and 'decorate' your house with whatever supplies he has stored up. Many times have you come home to your house looking like a kindergartener's finger painting project. He constantly has to be touching you; holding your hand, trapping you in his lap for a surprise cuddle session or leaning against you. He just loves how soft and warm you are against his scales! Him and his brothers will always find a way into your house during the colder months for that comforting warmth.

I am foaming at the mouth I need to rant about something in Feral Casey AU.

Okay so Usagi and Hana.

Usagi and Hana are the Henry and Sam of FCAU. Quite literally if you have seen TLOU HBO series. This wasn't my intention though.

I know I wanted one of the main cast to be deaf, a challenge to better myself in representation. And originally, I chose Usagi.

It was gonna be so cute. Usagi getting caught in an explosion to save Hana and then the two end up needing to rely on each other. Usagi needed her ears, and Hana needed his protection and guidance.

Then Leo and Usagi would be the ultimate disabled couple with Leo being an amputee. And they would be so fucking cute together and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--

But there was a problem.

Hana didn't have a personality.

At the time, her only personality trait was that she was dependent on Usagi and then ultimately became a rude character that I didn't want her to be. I tried to twist it as her overcoming ableism but nothing worked out.

After much debate, I made Hana the deaf character to fix her personality.

I'm not saying being deaf is a personality trait. But Hana being deaf brought out a better personality within her.

Now I have a little girl who becomes deaf in the crossfire of an explosion and her personality takes a turn. She is scared, she is lost, and she needs Usagi to be her shield. Once they finally find the Resistance and Casey Jr taught her sign language, she became more independent.

Because she had hearing beforehand, she knows of a life where sound meant something to her. And she wants it back more than anything. She gets cochlear implants and wears them all the time. Usagi is happy for her.

But then things come up. Noises became too much, she starts getting headaches, the implants become uncomfortable since she wears them ALL DAY.

She refuses to put them on one day and this is Usagi and Hana’s first fight of many.

Now, don't get me wrong, Usagi wants to be a good brother. Truly. But he doesn't understand Hana’s situation. He just assumes at first.

In this fight, Usagi and Hana go back and forth about needing the implants until Hana manages to sign why she hates them. Usagi negotiates a compromise, asking her to wear them when they are outside. The outside contains Kraang and gunfire and other things that you need to listen out for. Hana agrees.

But then things get worse.

Her hearing becomes more and more damaged and the implants needed to get upgraded again and again. She still finds them uncomfortable to wear, still gets headaches when she wears them, voices become harder to understand, and implants are very hard to come by in the apocalypse.

So one day, when she and the others are meant to be going out, she refused to wear them. Usagi and Hana fight again.

Usagi wants to keep her safe, you know? He means well. But Hana was just not having it. Her anger bubbles over as she aggressively signs her thoughts until her hands stopped making sense.

And then all she could do was scream.

Then she broke down crying.

The siblings never fought again after that. Usagi finally breaks out of his audism mindset and learns to support Hana’s choices no matter what.

We get to watch a character go from a scared, shy, dependant child turn into a stubborn-headed, strong, independent girl through the journey of accepting Deafness. This is a journey I have been building since the idea for FCAU started and I am grateful to have the support of my ASL professor (who is Deaf) who caught me drawing sketches of Hana and became invested in helping me.

And there is a reason why Usagi is so keen on his ways but I don't wanna spoil it yet. TLDR, it has to do with depression and shit. It's a whole thing that we'll get into later.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL.

Without spoiling too much, there's going to be a particular episode about 1/4 way through the story involving Usagi and Hana’s relationship and uhh let's just say it'll make you cry.

Usagi proves himself as the loving brother that will do anything for his sister and puts her above all else.

As Hana faces a great fear that she is no longer afraid off because she knows she can handle it and knows who got her back.

Leo: Morticia and Fester! Morticia in how he carries himself (both are very flowy and wispy, I guess is the way I'd describe it) and Fester in the stalkerish tendencies he has.

Mikey: pugsley ALL THE WAY. Loves demolition, completely feral, etc etc? Match made in HEAVEN. Also Debbie, the main villain in Family Values!!!! Idk, he loves spending just like her and would definitely burn down a house over a malibu barbie.

Donnie: probs has the least direction, he had very minor inspiration of Fester bc of his science-y kinda nature that he has sometimes (at least, like, beakers in his room in the 1991 movie, I think?)

Raph: was inspired by Lurch, their butler, and the comic series/1964 sitcom Wednesday (she had a doll she carried around all the time)!

April: visually, by Wednesday in the recent animated movies (I detest them with my whole being but the noose braids look cool so). Insperation personality wise is also Wednesday but in the older movies bc of her really flat way of speaking and like. Her saying kinda shocking/out of pocket things?

Usagi: inspired by Morticia in a way (his body shape, mostly LMAOOOO) but also by Margaret (married Cousin Itt in the 1991 movie) slightly! Just by how she 'married into' the family and her generally kinda nervous demeanor.

Splinter and BM were inspired by Gomez and Morticia respectively. BM was also inspired by Debbie, for the. Murder and love of all pretty/expensive things, lol!

Since Shredder and the Krang Invasion don't happen in your story, have you though about incorporating some version of those fight scenes in the fanfic, like Draxum or Galois/Donnie facing off against the Hamatos while using the Shredder/Krang Prime's dialogues? I can imagine the absolute horror/inner turmoil Leo would face if Galois was attacking him and the rest of their family while saying the Krang leader's words if they succeed in offing Draxum. It could even be a fanfic.

I kind of already did that? In the last chapter, (I could barf, it's still the last chapter, Leo's still on top of that freaking roof) some of Draxum's dialogue is lifted directly from Krang Prime. Maybe it was more obvious in the drafts? I basically reversed the entire conversation at one point and cut a lot of Draxum's name-calling, so the allusions might have gotten lost. Him calling Leo 'little pest' is a direct reference to Krang Prime after Leo locked them in the Prison Dimension together, and his whole thing about Galois being better off with him than as Donnie is supposed to be reminiscent of Prime's 'I am a gift' speech.

Does the Shredder even talk much during their big fight? I know he talked to the Foot husbands and Draxum, but during the big flashy fight sequence? I'd have to rewatch the finale. And I generally don't rewatch finales much because it makes me sad lol. (especially when it was cut before its time like Rise was) Incorporating elements of the fight itself, that would be very difficult for a few reasons. One is just the change in media-animation and print are very different mediums and what's entertaining to watch is not necessarily going to be entertaining to read a play-by-play of, and vice versa. A second is that Rise depends heavily on a lot of fantastical elements, and the characters do a lot of shit that should not be physically possible to do. So far, I've been mostly portraying fantastical elements as realistic as possible. I mean, I can certainly try to incorporate some of that in the fic, but that leads into my third reason-I'm not that good at writing fight scenes. I intentionally focus more on the dialogue and emotional aspects to draw attention away from the fact that I suck at it.

In general, I try not to repeat canon dialogue too much and that's something that turns me off when reading other people's fanfics. If I wanted to watch the show, I'd watch the show-I want to see how your fic differs from the canon material. There are exceptions, of course-in my Dishonored fic I had to reuse in-game dialogue very often, because so much of Dishonored is creeping around watching people talk and do stuff, and that familiar dialogue gave readers an anchor in where we were while the protagonist is busy being emo and piling whale meat into his mouth. But even then, I tried to change up the dialogue whenever I could to reflect the differences in the AU from canon. Like, for instance, there's a scene in the vanilla game where a guard and a prostitute are talking about how the city has gone to shit since the empress died, and it kind of trails off into small talk because neither had much more than a passing fondness for the empress. In my AU, the empress was a former street kid who was revealed to be the bastard daughter of the emperor and she focused her rule on reducing poverty and improving the lives of even the poorest of her citizens. It devolves into an argument with another guard insulting her origins and the original guard and prostitute defending her because she was viewed as almost a saint among the commoners.

If it isn’t much to ask. Could you give us more information about Casey and Aprils kids, more specifically there personality’s and maybe interest?(I tried to look online for Marie’s but found nothing)

Alright, I'm going to rant a bit about comic book cannon Casey Marie first since that's who Adopted au CM is based off of (that and she's great lol)

Casey Marie is April and Casey's daughter from a tmnt comic series called "The Last Ronin" (if she's in anything else, i do not know. This is where i know her from.)

(it's a fantastic, five volume series with gorgeous art and a great, yet tragic, story. Basic summary without spoilers is that 20+ years into the future, the foot clan has taken over and walled off NYC controling everyone inside. One of the turtle's mission is to break in to NYC and take down the head of the Foot clan, Shredder's grandson, even if it kills him. I don't want to say more than that but if you like to read comics please read it!)

anyways! This is Casey Marie Jones as she's first properly introduced.

In "The Last Ronin". Her age is a little unclear but if i had to guess she's somewhere in her late teens. She was born after her father died thus ended up named after him. She runs a small resistance against the Foot and grew up idolizing a group of ninja turtles she never had a chance to meet. She even tried teaching herself ninjutsu but ends up gaining the remaining turtle (name redacted for spoiler reasons) as a sensei upon him seeing said attempt and not being able to ignore the mistakes that could get her hurt.

(i wish i had some comic panels from this part but, alas, they are in the 1 ISSUE i do not own of his series. so instead have a picture of her being cool on the cover of the 5th issue, post haircut of course.)

Personality wise, she's pretty cool. she cares very deeply for her family and rebel group (Which may as well be her family as well.) Shes stubborn, doing what she thinks is right regarless of what she's been told, but also can have a bit of a temper.

She's also a bit of a jokester, often seen teasing Redacted (that's just what i'm calling him now) (which he has no idea how to handle. Teenagers confuse him lol)

She and Redacted end up being pretty close, and he's very protective of her. She's their friends' only daughter, of course he would be. By the end they're practically family.

Now that i'm done ranting about Cannon Casey Marie (b/c she's great) i'll move on to what Adopted AU Casey Marie (and Jackie) are like!

Casey would definitely be fascinated by ninjutsu growing up, to the point of getting Angie to teach her the stuff he got taught and eventually getting to learn straight from Leo (which i stated before but eh. I can say it again.)

She'd be stubborn, confident, and ready to fight over anything she deems worthy of it (nothing gets her to start a fight faster than someone picking on her little sister.) She's tech smart like her mom but would rather fight than do tech stuff on the sidelines.

Jackie (i'm making this one up as i go so it might end up changing some) is a little more reserved than Casey, but not by much. Looking at the two together, you'd think she was the calm/shy one, but she's not. especially whenever she's playing a competitive sport. She inherited her dad's love of Hockey and turns into an absolute feral gremlin as soon as her skates hit the ice. (she plays other sports too, but Hockey is her main.) (she also looks the most like April. so she's just this little Red head running around with a hockey stick, which i find absolutely adorable.)She likes ninjutsu as well, but as more of a hobby while Casey thinks of it as a career goal.

I think both girls would like art as well, but mostly just see it as something to do with Angie.

In the future times - Good future AU that is all fluff and good times,the boys are married and the world is safe ones again…or is it?

Good things happen - Good future AU but things still never changed,life was still giving them a reason to hate it,they were still fighting enemies they need to end and protect earth like they have always have been since when they were still happy and young

If beasts had a heart - Side AU for TC:CR,The future boys are feral and are now the things originally created them to be but except for destroying the world,they are now protecting it

TC:CR - Bad future AU but it stays like that,everybody lives but as a price,the world is still what it is when the sky turned pink,Mikey might knew how and why

••Dark-centric AU’s

Desideratum - Mafia/Yakuza AU but their hidden for their own Safety,forced to make a second persona so they won’t be killed like their own father did

Erased - Leo is back….20 whole years,but it was like months for the others

Last one behind- Mikey is the only one alive,he protects the city as he still does,but his family is not there to stop his actions from becoming worse then it already was,losing the thing that held him innocent

Mind shadow - Leo can see things,shadows of people’s mind,he became an even more skilled mind reader and even greater liar

The Hamato Family - The Addam’s family but it’s the hamato’s now,what chaotic evil would they ensue?

Blood moon - Vampires are a taboo of the world,hunted to be killed and exterminated,but they are starting to get more skilled on pretending to be humans,only a few pure bloods are lurking somewhere near

Blackened morals - The boys are villains,dumped by Draxum when they were ‘unneeded’ anymore.They do evil to survive,even if it means spilling blood for it

Bloody heart - Leo is a medic under Big Mama,he gave up escaping years ago.But when someone came and gave him reason to fight back again,this time he won’t hesitate on shedding his doctor coat if he must 

Same name,different faces - Leo wonders what he would be of evil succumbs him,he didn’t realize it would be this soon and having the same name like his own,there’s two of them now?!?

White and black - Donnie falls in love with a villain,that ain’t good at all

Wolves and prey - Separated AU but Leo and Donnie were left behind and became villains,surviving in the dirtiest part of the Hidden City,their calculating teeth grow long until it was a weapon,using it for survival

Blood for blood - Kingdoms and tribes,corruption and harmony.Baron got what he wanted from the boys,but he started to think this might bite him back soon enough

Power and ruins - Humans are in kingdoms,protected by walls and metal.Mutants and Yokais are in tribes,left to fight for their own.Hunting and Killing,Humans are the real monsters but if the yokais fight back and take what’s rightfully theirs,there the own being called that way.

Royal infinity - The boys are emperors in the old dynasty era,that’s it

Water mayhem - Mythical water creatures live in the deepest depth to the shallowest of waters,hidden from plain sight with powers that could make humans greed and take them away.The Mad dogz are trying to find them,their intentions are unknown for now.

Hamato breathing - DS:KNY X ROTTMNT but things changed so it won’t be directly the same as Demon Slayer,more info will be soon added

Happy endings,right? - My own version of the boys and having the more realistic injuries post-movie event,things are in shambles but their still together to mend things back to normal.Maybe,life would calm down for a bit

Hello,New friend - It was a bad idea,you should’ve run when you had the chance.Now your stuck in a large restaurant (??) with the four actually-sentient but borderline murderous animatronics hunting you down in the night like a game of cat and mouse,this will last for five days and this is not worth 200 dollars per day

Past four - The mad dogz aren’t the only successful turtle warriors that Baron had created,turns out theirs four more of them now,chaos ensues

What’s underneath? - April swore she lives alone in the isolated NY shoreline lands,just got a job by trying to extract good news in the town near the shorelines even if she was a rocky reporter,but things starts to get more weirder each time she gets close the rocky side of the beach near her home 

When worlds collide - ROTTMNT but with a ninjago inspired world,more info would soon be added

WftW,SftE - The boys are sheriffs and powerful famous mutants in a quiet large town,justice and safety was everywhere with them around,until something was able to tip them off from their horses

Turtle spider - The Mad dogz gets bitten by separate radioactive spiders,turns into different kinds of spider-turtles,saves their city multiple times, and you know the rest

Home Au

Remember the unnamed au with fire spirit mikey, google docs don, krang raph, and feral leo?

yeah Im fusing it w the home au. Also more explenations noone asked for.

Leo is now a prison dimension entity. He still hoes feral, tapping into those turtle instincts to do his best to survive. His feral state makes him increadibly vulnerable to the permanent side effects of the prison dimension. Slowly, his environment changes the stricture of his very being and now, we have a feral Leo who is now a desachurated prison dimension monster with black portals and the ability to create back lighning slashes. Another thing I added is that Leo can now do this thing called “fading” I took away his regeneration and gave it to Raph and replaced it with fading. He can turn into black mist and becomes incorporeal like Mikey for an amount of time to rest. If he gets too relaxed while in this state he literally disappears for a while tho. This also happens if he uses his black lightning too much. The more he uses it the longer he disappears. After being saved he stays feral fir a while before returning to normal, although he still keeps some turtle habits. He can return to feral mode when put under high stress or put in a situation where his life is in high danger.

Mikey turned into a mystic warrior to learn how to save Leo. His body turns into pure mystic energy after overuse of his mystic powers and he is now a fire spirit forever bound and tethered to his nunchucks. He has a state where he is just in his chucks, just watching the world go by. He can go out in a physical form, but hes like a ghost and noone can see nore interact with him without soecial equipmen. If he focuses, he can become visible and this is where the fire spirit comes in. He looks the same except he floats and some parts of him are just made out of fire, sometimes parts of him flicker because he is just made out of it. He burns anything he touches tho, so now he makes art by burning drawings into wood. He can also turn parts of his body or his entire body into visible fire and shapeshift as a large flame. Since he is now purely made out of mystic energy, he is a living battery.

As for Raph, my boi is just as op as Leo being a krang. He absolutely hates it tho, but has come to accept it over the years. They are at risk of another krang invasion if he goes savage which is why Mikeys chucks are always physically on him at all times. He hasnt gone savage since the invasion but if he does hes going to tear apart the earth from the surface to the core in order to find his brothers, and then keep them in a deadly bear hug until he calms down. He will listen to noone, not even his own brothers until he is calm, which can result in some unwanted injuries(casualities). He has tried ripping krang parts off of him to return to normal, but they always regenerate within seconds. His non krang parts also regenerate, but much slower like it takes hours.

Donnie has a robot version of his body, which also has drawn on eyebrows, that he uses. Its his main vessel and yeah he can technically just possess the microwave but his robo body is more flexible. And yes, he can possess all tech in the lair. For tech he didnt make, he just needs to hack into it and its all his to use. He can also hack into his brothers phones so rip.

Splinter and April havent changed and they now have to deal with this new mess.

whats the au about? is it angsty?

The AU of AUs? It's kinda angsty.

Think of it as a dreamscape safe space for all the Don's I've made or helped make. That means that if I helped make the Don, that OG creator is still helping with writing. We are mainly doing snippets atm.

The Don's have this little apartment Concept (it's literally a construct and changes to their needs) where they appear sometimes in dreams and interact with each other.

The Don's include:

Dad- Donnie from Purple Hues and Silver Country Blues.

Pup- Feral Don from The Higher You Are, the Further You Fall.

Emo/Bingo- Donnie from @lucatea s Outside View

Phet- Donnie from my TTP AU

Tiny- From Incomplete Obedience by @B1ankslate (not yet published)

Wiz- donnie from tmwt.

There are also companions that come with some of them such as Biter, a feral Leo from @lucatea s What Once was Calm, Bluey from Outside View, and Aggie, who follows Dad around.

The timelines of each are different and move at different speeds. Dad was the first one to find himself in the space with Aggie and slowly, more Don's would appear from their timeline right before the main turning point, such as right before Pup was captured by the institution. The other Dons basically witness and help each knee through their hardships as best as they can, but its difficult.
