Florida student athletes required to identify gender assigned at birth
The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) has been fighting controversy in recent weeks after discussing the possibility of requiring student athletes to answer questions about their menstrual history on the state-wide pre-participation physical evaluation form. The form has included questions about menstrual history since it was last updated in 2016, but those questions have remained…

Florida students athletes may need to prove they can menstruate
The Florida High School Athletics Association’s (FHSAA) sports medicine advisory committee has stood by its recommendation to require high school athletes to submit information about their periods for each year they register to participate.
The move comes after a suggestion that the association’s board adopt a national sports registration form – which makes menstrual information mandatory.
Questions listed on the form include asking if players have had a period, when they first got their period, the date of their most recent one was and the regularity of their cycle during the previous 12 months.
Notably, the main difference between the national form and Florida’s system, as the Palm Beach Post reports, is where the information is stored.
The national form states that the part detailing athletes’ medical history – including their menstrual history – should not be turned into schools but remain with their physician.
However, the FHSAA’s sports medicine committee recommended that all pages of the form be handed over to their schools.

Subject: Stop Florida's high school menstrual period reporting rule
Hi friend,
I just signed a petition from the gender justice organization UltraViolet calling on the Florida High School Athletic Association to reject the proposal to require female student athletes to report information about their menstrual periods to the school in order to play.
Will you sign the petition as well?
You can click this link to add your name to the petition addressed to the FHSAA: https://act.weareultraviolet.org/sign/florida_period_sign_vote?referring_akid=52413.1017270.KmF4nM&source=taf
Thank you for taking action with me!

I know Tumblr doesn't really have a sports culture but Ron DeSantis has consolidated yet another body into the governor's office. This time it's the Florida High School Athletics Association.

Florida Demanding Girls Report Menstrual Info to the State in Order to Play School Sports
Tumblr media
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis isn’t stopping his attack on Florida education by simply prohibiting Black History Classes; he’s now trying to require school girls to report their menstrual information to the state before they will be permitted to participate in school sports.  In fact, a subcommittee of the FHSAA just voted to make it mandatory that female athletes answer these questions if they want to participate in school athletics:
When was your most recent menstrual period?
How much time do you usually have from the start of one period to the start of another?
How many periods have you had in the last year?
What was the longest time between periods in the last year?
They then want kids to upload all this information to a third-party platform that is not bound by HIPAA - where the information could be forced to be disclosed under subpoena, which could result in making the girls’ menstrual information public.
Well, given how intent the governor seems to be about monitoring all aspects of female student menstruation in Florida, I suggest every time a female student has her period, simply have her package and date all her used female products - and send them directly to Gov. DeSantis’ office for inspection.  Talk about full compliance with the law!
Gee, wonder if they plan to ask the male student-athletes similar questions?  I mean, these are adolescent boys, after all!  It might be important for the state to record how many times they’re jerking off in an average week,  whether they’re wanking during English Literature classes, are their fantasies are completely heterosexual, and do they have wet dreams?  Its important Republican politicians know these things.
I suppose its comforting for Floridians to know Gov. DeSantis and his Republican pals are leading the fight against “Big Government’s" intrusion into our personal lives - trying to prevent “freedom” from being taken away by those “woke” libtards.  Why, if you leave it up to that “woke crowd,” they’ll try and convince you that people and opinions other than those of Republican white males are just as important as those of Gov. DeSantis.
Now, is it just me, or does anyone else wonder if there are any sane people left in Florida at all?  I mean, do Florida women really want to live in a Ron DeSantis Handmaid's Tale?  It sure seems like it.  Where are the fucking protests?  Besides, if Florida really wants to collect intimate sexual information about teen girls, why depend on spaced-out, flaky adolescent kids for the data?  I mean, why not just ask Matt Gaetz?

For years, the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) has handed out a form to student-athletes with “optional” questions about their menstrual cycles. Now, as reported by Jezebel, the FHSAA wants to make those and other questions for the athletes mandatory—and part of the process of determining whether student-athletes can play. Dr. Michael Haller, a pediatric endocrinologist, told Jacksonville.com, “I don’t see why (school districts) need that access to that type of information … It sure as hell will give me pause to fill it out with my kid.”

Florida athletic association will no longer ask high school students about menstruation cycles#Florida #athletic #association #longer #high #school #students #menstruation #cycles
The association faced widespread criticism after the Palm Beach Post reported that the organization asked student athletes about their menstruation history and was considering making it mandatory. During the meeting, a lawyer present with FHSAA read dozens of letters opposing the inclusion of the menstruation questions. The feedback included comments from outraged parents and community members…

The FHSAA announced in October that it was changing its annual physical form for student athletes to a digital version instead of paper. The form includes optional but detailed questions about students’ menstruation cycles, including when they got their first period, when they had their most recent one, and how many weeks pass between periods. Previously, only one page of the paper form—on which a pediatrician would sign off on a student being allowed to play—would be submitted to a school. But the entire digital form will now be submitted. Despite widespread public outcry, an FHSAA panel not only decided Tuesday night to stand by that change but also recommended the menstrual history questions be made mandatory." *** The largest online progressive news show in the world.
