Why did I do that. Damnit, I should've known that reading that chapter would have re-activated my need for more. I was way better off ignoring anything related to Yohaji and just went about my day, not thinking about Yohaji every minute of the hour of the day of the week. But the damage has been done. Now I have to read the whole manga all over again just to satisfy myself once again. But no. That's not enough. I searched every corner to hunt every single content of Yohaji. Tumblr. Twitter. Youtube. Tiktok. Ao3. Our lord and savior Canada's account. The giver of reason in life, one who resurrects the dead, the sailor uniform to my life, Tanamai-sensei's account. I know that the Yohaji content in this world is not enough and will NEVER be. The moment I discovered this manga, I knew that it would be my life. The fact that it had only reached me last year, ber month is unforgivable. Why did it not have content as many as the amount of numbers there are to exist so that it could reach me at the start of it's existence? It should have been Yohaji. Not BNHA! Nothing against that anime by the way. Well, I am grateful that I stumbled upon Yohaji while it had 100+ chapters though. And the fandom being small enough to only have nice and cool people in it. But those fics in ao3 though? Why- I mean, I don't really care or pay attention to them but the fact that the amount of nsfw fanfics is probably (I'm saying probably because they might just be more) equal to the amount of sfw fanfics in there is- I swear, WHY ARE THERE SO LITTLE FANFICS OF YOHAJI?! 3 PAGES?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? There might be more in other places but I only read in ao3 and Tumblr if I find some there. I'm so thankful for the translators though!!! I love y'all. I love the fandom. I love the characters. I love Yohaji. I love the creator. God- sorry I forgot I can't use sensei's name in vain. I'm telling y'all, Tanamai is the GOAT. A GENIUS!! Your brain is beautiful. What goes on in head yours? Tell and everyone might gain more braincells. What's with you? What's with your humor?? What's with your lore?! WHAT'S WITH YOUR ART??? WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!?! SENSEI WHEN I CATCH YOU OHH WHEN I CATCH YOU. But of course, it's not your fault that I'm starving for more Yohaji chapters. One month is nothing to me- IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO CREATE THIS WONDERFUL AND HEAVENLY HOOK THAT CAUGHT ME EVEN ONLY WITH IT'S TITLE AND ART?? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO MEEEE?!?! Senseiiiiii*sob* waaaaaahh... Still, I'm sooo happy this is getting an anime this year!! I've been waiting for this ever since I found out it existed along with other Yohaji fans. I knew it would happen soon enough because it's the law. It's a crime to not make an adaption of amazing yet weird yet amazing manga like no other. Death row. DEATH ROW!! It's fine even if it's low quality. As long as it exists, I can finally pass on peacefully- when it airs it better be as good as the manga and look immaculate, I'm telling you. Haha, just kidding. Or am I..? I cannot wait until April or whatever how long it takes for the anime to air just please. Please even the trailer only. But I'm sure everyone is already working hard to make the anime for it. Do your best!! You're doing the right thing! And.... uhm.. 24 episodes... please..? AHHH HARUAKI'S SMILEEE!!! i posted last night but almost had an anxiety attack after , so apologies if you saw that and then saw me delete it . anyway , i am caught up with the manga ! finally . but this blog does make me anxious , as does the bnha rpc overall . . and most of my mutuals here have jumped ship or archived their blogs anyway .

i might remake this blog , but i will think on it for a bit , since i don't want to go through the trouble of remaking only for izuku muse / writing motivation to dwindle as much as it has lately , and for me to abandon the blog immediately .

Games I played:

AI: The Somnium Files - a fantastic game I highly recommend if you like weird characters and stories and are a fan of visual novels/adventure games <3 super fun

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim - AMAZING cast of characters and fun gameplay I didn’t want to stop playing, great plot I will be thinking about forever…

Bugsnax - very funny and cute and I loved catching every bugsnax and the fun characters I want to play the 2nd one when it comes out

Psyconauts - a cult classic for a reason. Loved it’s style but the final level is so bad I would not wish it upon my worst enemy. Looking forward to finishing 2 one day

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - I haven’t gotten to finish this one yet (I got 80 hours in okay??) but I’m incredibly excited to get back to it. GOTY BABY!!! GAME OF ALL TIME!!

Nier Automata - ALSO THE GAME OF ALL TIME this is a must play it broke me it healed me it made me see the beauty of art and story telling that games are capable of it’s really just fantastic. for the love of god do not stop after ending A. Love this game so much.

Chainsaw Man - starting off with the best one. CSM is so incredibly important to me and one of the best stories I have ever read. if you have talked to me at ALL you know how I cannot shut up about Denji and i AM NOT SORRY!!!

I Want to Hold Aono-kun so Badly I Could Die - fantastic supernatural/horror themed romance and one of my favorite romances I read this year

Black Clover - made me realize how truly trash bnha is at writing women lmao. Good battle shonen but nothing overwhelming special about it. It understands the basics and does them all well

D Gray Man - didn’t catch up on this one yet but it’s got great characters and some of the worst action paneling I’ve ever seen.

Dungeon Meshi - y’all were right it’s funny and can be very touching at time

A Condition Called Love - I can fix him romance but make it not feel toxic the manga. Super cute I love them.

Toilet Bound Hanako-kun - I feel like I started this last year but I know that can’t be true… supernatural + romance + cute art. It’s made me cry.

Jujutsu Kaisen - loved this baby and then I caught up to the current arc and it was the worst shit of all time. Megumi my depressed king.

Frieren Beyond Journeys End - fantastic please read it I love these bitches so much

Spy x Family - it’s SxF it’s good we all know this

Manga I finished reading

Cardcaptor Sakura - I think this is my first CLAMP manga I finished. LOVED sakura and shaoran they are so small. so many good aspects to this series and then all of the age gap bullshit is there so IDK hard to recommend but I enjoyed reading all of the parts that weren't about horrible relationships

Horimiya - CUTE I love romance where you get to follow them as a couple <3 there were a few bad spots in it (miyamura's piercings being compared to self harm in that one chapter.......???????) but over all a good read

Astra: Lost in Space - fun scifi adventure with good characters. pretty short and easy read. its fun

You Got Me, Senpai - SO CUTE one of the best relationships I've read in a manga. adorable.

Drowning Love - verrry good and complex, a mature story with darker elements (check out trigger warnings for it) and a very engaging coming of age story about two kinda horrible kids with too much attention pointed their way living in a small town. anime adaptation WHEN

Wake Up, Sleeping Beauty - super cute romance, supernatural elements. loved it

Orange - think this would be a perfect read if the time travel element wasn't explained like That and also Suwa >>> Kakeru and what they did to his character in that bonus story was just mean

Goodbye, Eri - everyone should read this. beautiful, stays with you. fantastic exploration on what arts purpose is

A Kiss, For Real - it was cute. the summary makes it sound more romance focused than it actually is, there is a lot of focus on the MCs journey of growth and what she wants to do with her life. Romance was cute but not exceptionally so

Takopi's Original Sin - overhyped as hell. depressing outlook on life. thought some of it was fine but it is overall too cruel to say i enjoyed it, especially with a cast this young

The Girl From The Other Side - I actually 100% cannot remember if I read this last year or not. anyways. BEAUTIFUL art, great characters, compelling mysteries

Junji Ito's Dissolving Classroom - not his best work by far, but it is one of his earliest so I don't care too much.

Spotless Love: This Love Cannot Be Any More Beautiful. - I haven't been adding the ones that aren't popular unless I really enjoyed them, but idk this one is just so wild I felt the need to throw it on here. girl who loves to clean x child assassin is certainly a relationship dynamic. they're funny

Anime I watched <3 THIS SECTION WILL BE LONG SORRY

Akiba Maid War - this is not very good but it is entertaining so...

Ano Hana - rewatched this one finally! still one of the best dramas of all time. did you know childe and jintan have the same english VA bc I know. I know this now.

BNA - the plot point about how the furries were victims in the literal real world holocaust made me kind of hate this I won't lie. also the best friend fox girl Nazuna is one of the most unbearable characters ever. when you lead a cult pretending to be an important religious figure to a culture you are not part of because you like attention i guess?? it is not a good look in a show that already deals so heavily in antisemetic themes & imagery for it's villains.... sorry to whoever recommended this to me :( great animation

Dance Dance Danseur - did not like the MC but I did like the FMC and Rival character, good animation. I read the authors shoujo title Drowning Love this year and it should've gotten the adaptation TBH but this was fine, last few episodes carried

Death Parade - rewatched this one this year and it is still amazing. OP is still one of the best out there.

Do It Yourself!! - not incredibly remarkable yuri bait with a fantastic art style. its fine if you like cute girls doing cute things while being gay genre

Erased - for a mystery story the culprit is laughably obvious. the rest of it is pretty good though. oh lol other than the weird jokes about the protags taste in girls but it never followed through on anything so compared to other series im too tired to care

Keep Your Hand's Off Eizouken - starts off strong but I couldn't keep caring by the end tbh. it does not help I started it and then stopped for like 7 months and then finally finished the show so that's probably rly affecting my feelings

Ramblings about BNHA chap 382

So we’ve quietly reached chap 382…

…and… hum… has this turned into All for One and Hawks’ private battle? Because the balloons focus on how they are the one who noticed the situation wasn’t as optimal/disastrous as it could be, as if no one else has caught up on it yet… when it’ll actually turn out they had.

Okay, okay, it itself I like the contrast between All for One and Hawks in the page, but it just feels as if there’s too much focus on them, as if Hawks had become All for One’s sole rival.

But maybe it’s just me.

Why the situation isn’t as optimal/disastrous as it could be?

I’ve to say I appreciated how the manga finally addressed how it would have been useful to clone people like Tomura, Touya and All for One… because here we see that Himiko actually did it. Only… their Quirk don’t work. But now come some odd things.

Hawks, remembering how All for One claimed he gave Himiko the tools to bring ruin to everyone, seeing Tomura and Co can’t use their Quirk calls him a liar… when this might be not necessarily the case. All for One never said he would send against them a Tomura’s Sad man’s parade. He might have thought either Himiko would manage to make their Quirks work or they could still win without them.

Anyway, Tsuyu too has noticed the situation isn’t as bad as it could be but… I’m a bit confuse about what she’s saying. In fact Tsuyu says the situation would have been bad if Himiko has FIRST transformed into All for One or Dabi and THEN made doubles of them… but actually Himiko had to transform in Twice, because it’s when she’s transformed in Twice that she can make doubles using his Quirk.

So by this logic she should have FIRST transformed in Twice and make closes of Twice who can make more clone THAN use such clones to also clone All for One and Co… which is what Himiko did… so I’m a bit lost here.

Tsuyu goes on pointing how Twice’s Quirk could create doubles who could use their Quirks, and how Himiko can use only the Quirk of the person in whom she transforms, solely if she loves them. Tsuyu assumes that condition carries over in her transformation of Twice, so she goes and claim she might not love Shigaraki and the others.

And… okay for All for One, I honestly don’t think Himiko loves him, but Tsuyu doesn’t know Himiko at all so assuming Himiko loves Ochako, whom she barely know and is more like crushing about and not Shigaraki and Co with whom she has lived, fought and shared ideals and moments… feels just as a speculation that’s not even particularly nice.

It’s common knowledge that a crush isn’t that deep of a love, and Tsuyu knows Himiko hardly knows Ochako, so the fact that Himiko would feel even less love for the members of the league, paints them as even less than comrades who care for each other. Note that Tsuyu is just offering a theory, not a fact, so it’s possible her theory is wrong, in fact, in a while Himeko will confirm she loves Tomura and Touya as well.

Tsuyu then points out something which I instead think will be relevant, how in an extreme situation like this, a single emotion can change things at any second. I like to think this sentence can also foreshadow things to come, and not necessarily just in regards to Himiko. We know one of the points the story made is that changing emotions can change things, for example, Shouto forgetting his father and focusing on his wish to become a hero helped him to use his fire during the fight with Midoriya… and, even more relevant, in the very first chapter, Midoriya overcome his fear due to his wish to help Bakugo, or Jin went so far as to overcome his trauma due to his wish to help the league.

Still, fearing Himiko will overcome whatever stops her from using Tomura or Touya’s Quirk, Tsuyu believe they must rush to track Himiko.

And here Ochako tries to do something interesting because she tries to think what might cause Himiko to reveal herself in that sea of clones. Why this is good? Because she might be trying to put herself in Himiko’s shoes, which is the first step to start understanding her.

So we move to Himiko’s point of view and how she’s actually desperate because, although she loves Tomura and Touya, she can’t use their Quirks, differently by how she could do it of Jin and Ochako. This is not something that happened just now, she tested if she would be able to use their powers before the battle and couldn’t, and so, even though all the Himiko transformed in Jin clones keep on repeating ‘All heroes must die’ we can see she’s actually crying inside because she can’t ‘become Jin’ who could make clones of Touya and Tomura whose Quirk would work.

I’ve already shared my two cents on why she might not be able to do so in details here so I recommend reading this meta if you’re curious, for the extreme summed up version, I’ll say it might be because, Jin’s Quirk need info to clone others but, differently from Jin, she might have thought to get the info about the people she wanted to clone by their blood, but if All for One, Tomura and Touya have Quirks that aren’t their own, she might not be able to find info of them in their blood. Again, really, more details about it here.

The story goes back to Ochako and how she loves seeing happy people, and therefore this causes her to immediately spot the Twice who’s actually crying instead, the implication being this allows her to recognize Himiko. It’s worth to point out in the past Ochako was surprised to see Himiko so very sad and crying and this pushed her to think at her and consider trying to understand her, so this might be a call back to that, and might help Ochako to get close to her. At least I hope so.

If Ochako were to reach for Himiko without attacking her but just by connecting with her she could stop the Sad Man’s parade a lot better than by fighting Himiko. But, we’ll see.

Meanwhile Hawks is encouraging Tuskiyomi to fight, thinking although All for One is invincible, they still might be at advantage because Endeavor managed trashing him once and All for One is in a hurry to reach Tomura and even admitted it. Now… okay, Kudos to Endeavor for trashing All for One once but that didn’t really do much as All for One rewinded back to his youth, undamaged self and making him lose some precious time as far as Hawks know (it might have done more actually but he shouldn’t know yet). So his ‘thanks to Endeavor’ only works to remind me he’s an Endeavor’s fanboy.

Anyway the group decides to support Tsukuyomi by trying to block the light to fuel his darkness, which pushes Camie to make night sky with her Quirk, while Kamuy Wood, holding a wounded Komori, claims they’ve to stop Toga from making more clones, which is Inasa’s job.

All for One causes a huge blast of light or an explosion of some sort to deal with Dark Shadow as he evidently figured light is its weakness, complaining they’re trying to impose their will with brute force (because he isn’t? I mean, I get he might complain what the heroes are doing isn’t noble but he’s the last who can talk about heroism).

Turn out though he’s now even younger. Evidently the rewinding bullet can’t be stopped and might keep on having him rewind until he’s just a fecundated egg. Unsurprisingly he’s good looking. He sees to have dark shadows under his eyes though so he’s not really feeling so hot and tries to escape, shased by Dark Shadow and Inasa who tries to boost him.

Again, the narrative focuses on All for One and Hawks as if they were meant to become the ultimate pairing… no, okay, I’m joking but it seems as if they’re the only one noticing/realizing things, as if they were mind connected because, again, they came to a realization in the same time, that the situation is perfectly optimal.

In fact Machia just showed up and All for One, thinking Machia is in full control, orders him to flatten his enemies. Only Machia is under Shinsou’s mental control so he tries to flatten All for One by tossing at him a mountain… okay, maybe not but it’s big. Japan’s geography is being rearranged by this battle.

There’s apparently 3 to 4 people on Machia (one seems to have Compress hat but I doubt that’s the case). We’re shown two of the people on top of Machia are Kirishima and Shinsou who, as I said before, has likely brainwashed Machia and forcing him to go against his beloved master.

Which yeah, technically gives them a lot of power but dehumanize Machia, turning him into a weapon the heroes toss in the fight without a care of how he actually loves All for One… but I wrote my thoughts in more details about this here.

To sum it up, what Shinsou’s doing isn’t really heroic and, since he hated the idea his Quirk could be seen as a Villain Quirk, I wonder if this will be discussed. I like to hope it will. Shinsou himself is depicted frowning a little so he might be not comfortable… unless it’s just for him is hard to keep control of Machia. We’ll see.

That’s all though.

There was no trace of Touya and Endeavor so yes, it’s entirely possible Endeavor escaped because he was just trying to move Touya out of the heroes’ way, so that his flames wouldn’t be a problem to them. I hope we’ll go back to him soon but I’m afraid Horikoshi might be saving him for later. Oh well, we’ll see.

BnHA Volume 35 - A Brief Reaction Journey

hello! so as mentioned in my last post, I’ve started catching up with the BnHA manga again FINALLY after almost two years, and have made it through a fair number of chapters so far! and since I’m not sure how long it will take me to actually post the corresponding liveblogs, I figured I’d make a couple of posts in the meantime to sort of preview my reaction journey thus far with some good old-fashioned OUT-OF-CONTEXT BULLET POINTS taken from my ramblings. originally I was going to make a single post for all 25 chapters I’ve read so far (up to 367), but I quickly realized that was waaaaay too ambitious lol. so for now it’s just this one, and I’ll put up the vol. 36 post probably tomorrow afternoon.

spoiler warning: just fyi, this post will obviously feature spoilers for chapters 342-350*, BUT it will also include some stray spoilers from chapters 362 and 403 as well, so just a heads up for that if you aren’t fully caught up!

well damn. after a rush of 15 and 13-page chapters, which were all admittedly appreciated by me in my race to catch up to Light Fades to Rain before this coming Friday, Horikoshi finishes up the volume with one hell of a 17 page finale. once again the Tododrama delivers. this was fucking phenomenal

“I refuse to believe he'd stand for it this time.” I get your desire for Kirishima coming in to save Bakugou as well as Midoriya, but have you even stopped to think that maybe just maybe Kirishima is in the middle of his own battle in a different location far from where Bakugou is! So he may not know what is happening to Bakugou!

It was actually based on from what I'd read the situation was being live streamed, so Kirishima, as well as everyone else, would have seen it happening, but it appears that was just hearsay because nothing in that chapter actually showed it being livestreamed, that's why I said that. I stand by everything else though.

Horikoshi purposely built up the friendship between Kirishima and Bakugou since the USJ, and has now just completely abandoned not only that friendship, but Kirishima as a character. It seems as soon as Kirishima played his part of getting Bakugou to have character development, Horikoshi just decided he wasn't necessary for the story anymore, and his and Bakugou's friendship is basically non-existent at this point.

Like Horikoshi built up this friendship. Showed the audience how Kirishima was the only one, after a short period of time together, that Bakugou called by name. In fact, he only needed to remind Bakugou once what his name was, before Bakugou was willingly calling him by it. He was the only one Bakugou willingly spent time with outside of class. He was the only one Bakugou willingly and without complaint teamed up with of his own accord (Kaminari being the other one, but that was mostly at the beginning due to Kirishima, this did change). He was the only one that could put a hand out to Bakugou and have him take it without hurting his pride. He was the only one allowed to touch Bakugou. To walk in front of and tell Bakugou what to do without getting yelled at. He was the first person Bakugou gave a real pep talk to.

Bakugou literally called Kirishima "my horse" as a callback to Kirishima saying that to him in the sports festival arc.

And now they're barely shown as friends. Because suddenly Midoriya is Bakugou's best friend, and Kirishima has all but been sidelined, except when Horikoshi needs someone to take a hit or be caught (aka the two times he saved Mina, and that time he caught Iida and Midoriya before they hit the ground).

I just want that friendship back. The one Horikoshi built from the beginning, but has just abandoned now Bakugou has had his development and apparently no longer needs Kirishima around, despite being Bakugou's first and only real friend for a majority of the start of the manga.

Like yeah, we see them basically glued at the hip during downtime, which I do love. I love that in the chapters between the final arc and the saving Midoriya arc they're basically always seen together. I just hate that they're never fighting together, despite their quirks literally being perfect to fight together. I mean, wouldn't having someone who can literally completely harden their body against Shigaraki have been incredibly helpful? Instead he's barely seen except when taking a hit for Mina, in which he immediately disappears again.

Like, the fact Kirishima wasn't even in Bakugou's hospital room when he woke up after the last fight against Shigaraki, made no sense. Kirishima risked everything for him, but wouldn't sit with him in the hospital, instead going to Todoroki's bedside, someone who he's friends with, sure, but not as close as he and Bakugou were made to be. We don't even seen Kirishima be relieved he's okay. It just completely skips over their apparent friendship.

I'm incredibly biased because I just miss Kirishima. He's my favourite. He's the only reason I keep up with BNHA. I want him back, and I want his protective friendship with Bakugou back☹️

Alrighty so since I wasn't quite sure what you wanted, so I did random Headcanons and a small scenario with Sal :)

Headcanons

🎭Sal was a little surprised when he found himself attracted to men but he eventually managed to accept himself.

🎭How he knew he liked guys? Well he fell for you.

🎭He was the one who asked you out and he was over the moon when you accepted

🎭Your first date was at an arcade, he picked out all of his coins so you would both have more than enough to spend.

🎭He won you a crocodile plush from a claw machine and he was so pleased with himself since those are hard

🎭You treasured it forever

🎭He was too scared to take his mask off because of his face, let alone to initiate a kiss or a makeout

🎭After a few weeks, he finally took it off and you felt so good that he could trust you

🎭So you had to be the first to kiss him since he thought you would be disgusted

🎭He became a lot more confident in himself after that too

🎭If you're taller/buffer than him it makes him feel protected in public, since he fears being ganged up on because of his mask. Having a bigger guy walking with him in the streets makes him feel secure.

🎭If you're shorter/generally smaller than him then he still feels some type of security since he has someone with him, but he has a much bigger desire to protect you.

🎭He has wants to protect you no matter your size, but sometimes if you're shorter than desire can be a bit bigger

🎭He once bought you a pride flag as a gift, and if you were still closeted then he would get you a tiny pride flag so you could easily hide it if you needed to

He tried his best, but it got harder and harder as everyone started dating people of the opposite gender. When things got even more stressful is when he found himself crushing on you.

The most handsome guy he'd ever seen, also one of his close friends. He was certain you didn't like guys but he took his chances anyway.

Soon he found himself taking a deep breath, before sitting down with you outside.
