How do you wash your stuffed animals?

I’ll be real here: I’ve never washed my friends beyond surface washing, as I’m a bit nervous.

For surface washing, I took a wet toothbrush to the spot that needed cleaning, and then gently dabbed at the now wet spot with a dry washcloth.

@finsterhund made a really good post about stuffed animal washing and restoration HERE.

I’ve often heard about putting stuffed animals in a bag, with a load of laundry like towels to protect the eyes and noses, and then air drying and combing with with a wire tooth brush, but I can’t vouch for that method.

So idk I'm kinda peeved.

My friend's birthday was yesterday. His dad buys him a cake, but his step mom bitches rather rudely at him for not cleaning the kitchen "quickly enough" after she just fucking told him to do it a bit ago and he's clearly trying to get some rest.

I can go on about how when we first cleaned the kitchen we easily cleaned it better than how it was when we first came here, including getting a mountain of crumbs and grime out of the toaster and off the counter and ever since then it's been give an inch and take a mile sort of thing with how us, despite paying rather much for such a tiny room, seem to always get deligated to clean the kitchen, where we are expected to clean it better than how it's usually cleaned in this house... I could say that y'all need to learn to actually clean it for yourself if I'm being honest. My friend actually has to tell me "you can stop now. It's fine" because the level of irrationality I clean things would go unappreciated in this house. Lmao

It's like when I was scrubbing what looked to be MONTHS if not more caked on grease from the stove elements and she's all "oh that definitely comes off" to me as I'm having difficulty because it's practically turned to stone on there. Lmao I'm sure if you did this every once in a while I wouldn't have such a damn time doing it now???

There's also the issue where only she does the laundry. Nobody else in the house before me and my friend came here does laundry. Like that's fucking wild. I'm an incompetent child who can't have a real job due to how stupid and useless I am but my friend managed to teach me to do laundry. And with only one person doing three other people's laundry, it makes sense that every time me and my friend have to do our laundry, there's always shit backing up the washer and dryer that was just left there. So we have to ask to have that stuff finished and she's all like "okay but I was busy" lmao that's why other people should've been helping you then yes? Also apparently I'm not allowed to do my own laundry because I'm a stupid child who cares about his stuffed animals so that congests the workload even more. So it's just my friend and his step mom doing the laundry.

I try not to bitch about this, but I literally just want one thing here, and that is to stay in this tiny room secluded and away from everyone for as long as I possibly can without going out or interacting with anybody else. And I also want clean bedding and clothes. It's a struggle every time to do laundry.

I just want our own place so badly. I wish I could have my own place but it's never going to happen because I can't afford a caretaker and I REFUSE to live in an assisted living facility or be institutionalized. Not to be dramatic, but I'd rather die.

I just feel so viscerally uncomfortable with the traditional nuclear family dynamic. That in itself turns out is a trauma trigger for me. Makes me wonder if I'd even feel comfortable if I did get my wish and had two parents. Maybe I should just be wishing for one instead. Andy's got it pretty good. IRL Finsterhund is hella jealous over here. (Yeah lmao I know it's still an unconfirmed headcanon that Andy has a single mom but idc)

Also I've been seriously thinking about how if the amount of cons I've had to miss living here is anything to go by, I won't be going to ANY cons when we move up north. My friend doesn't want to go through the extra work of bringing me with him on further trips to previously accessible conventions. So I'm gunna be pretty depressed about that. He also pretty much told me that I wouldn't be allowed to get my hair professionally dyed (yeah, really) for what might be my last con in a very long while, the one I've been looking super forward to in May, because I asked him about it ahead of time so we could integrate getting me orange again in schedule and he just told me no and immediately ended the discussion. So lmao I'm trying not to be emotionally destroyed over that, but you guys know about the "being Andy keeps me from wanting to die" thing so y'all already know I'm not handling it too well.

We also can't move before the con because of the difficulty getting to the airport from so far up north so that's something.

i’m sorry i didnt mean to worry you. i’ve been away because i was just at a convention over the weekend. it was very last minute so i didnt really get any chance to announce it. lol

on another note though, i’m going to Game Grumps Live tomorrow!!! I’m so fucking pumped. I bought a gold pass, so I get to go to the “surprise” meet and greet early.

i’m going to be cosplaying as arin/egosonic to the show. i will very likely be meeting arin face to face dressed as him in the sonic dress.

i will try my best to get a photo with him and post it here to show you all.

i’ll be giving arin a hand written letter with all the shit i likely won’t have time to say to him at the show. that way i can just be chill and hang with them for a bit without trying to deal with my fanboy spew. LOL. of course i’ll be including my contact info and an offer to be an artist for them. i’ll also be giving arin a personal print of my submission to the egosonic artbook.

as for dan, i have one of my another world shirts to give him!! i can’t wait to tell both of them how i’m now friends with eric chahi and am doing a comic for him. i hope i blow them away with that news. lmao

i’m so anxious. but also super excited. my main worry is that, i’m a person with immense social anxiety - but not so much in the “i cant talk to people” way, more in the “i’m not good at crowds” kind of way. i tend to let myself get overshadowed and talked over very easily. so i just pray to FUCK that a. i am able to even get a chance to say anything to them and b. there isn’t any obnoxious attention seeking fans constantly sullying everyone elses experience with the grumps by hogging all the hangout time just to make references at them. (you know the types.)

maybe if i’m lucky, my awesome friends i’m going with, @finsterhund , @honeysips , @breathlessintake and @paranoidpotato will have my back and will help me get the chance to talk to them if it doesnt arise on its own. some words of encouragement and suggestions from you guys (my tumblr followers) would be lovely as well, if you can spare them.

So (perhaps) similar to your dream project of an organization for collecting media to release into the public domain, if there was a video game equivalent to something like the Criterion Collection (or maybe Shout! Factory for something less artsy) that releases and restores rare/obscure/great works, what are some games you'd like to see get the deluxe treatment?

Well, that’s a neat idea first off and one that needs to exist! But, secondly, we gotta define what “deluxe treatment” is for games.

Aside from the obvious concept art/production history/interviews stuff, my idea’d be to keep the original graphics/aesthetics/gameplay intact for the basic game; to make sure it’s possible to get an unadulterated experience, but also to allow toggle-able options to make it both easier and more accessible to newbies if they want; and ideally even add new “episodes” or new campaigns in the old engine made by as much of the original staff as we could get; like the recent expansion for Postal 2 or the new episode for Duke Nukem 3D when it got on Steam.

If we’re going with the obscure stuff instead o’ the big names, the Mother/Earthbound series is a gimmee, ditto for Live A Live, The Guardian Legend, Cocoron, Ristar, Lucasarts’ Armed And Dangerous, Rule of Rose, and anything by #FucKonami; because it deserves better than its rightsholders.

ActRaiser could be amazing; especially if the “second quest” was a combination of the second game’s action stages with a proper RTS/city-building mechanic like it should have had. Ditto for the Magic: The Gathering Shandalar game; with the ideal “new campaign” adding new cards and set somewhere like; say; Zendikar or Mirrodin.

Demon’s Crest could be really; really cool, ideally packaged with the other two Gargoyle’s Quest games, and the Cho Aniki series would be fucking hilarious. The Deception/Trapt series would also be a shoo-in given how well it seems to embody that “lost” era of AA games that had a budget but also enough reason to be weird.

Sphinx And The Cursed Mummy would be neat, given how NitroRad showed how much of a hidden gem that was, and ditto for Volfoss and how @bogleech showed that off. And, for games my followers have a soft-spot for but also because they were ambitious; weird little experiments, Finny and the Seven Waters for @pettamapossum and Heart of Darkness for @finsterhund.

Also, since it never got a proper home release, CarnEvil would be amazing too.

But yeah, that’s a few I can think of off the top of my head that deserve the GameCriterion treatment. I do hope someday someone tries to make something like that...

Okay so technically I am disable monsters in HoDe and just let Andy sit in the Heart and have he ambiance play, but the sound playback in HoDe isn’t entirely accurate to the official game. It might make the Twitter user happy but I’m a perfectionist.
