How close was Bramblestar to accepting Hawkfrost's deal in this? Since isn't it Mothwing who intervenes and it's only then when Bramblestar makes his choice to fight Hawkfrost.
He was considering it. But not much differently from canon. If left to his own devices, he would have hesitated for about the same amount of time before deciding killing his leader was too far.
See like... BB!Bramblestar means a lot to me in that he didn't have to become what he did. He will lie and let others take the fall for him, blame everyone else for his own faults, but he MINDS being a bad person. He's capable of love and kindness, occasionally says something very wise, and can display compassion...
But he doesn't. He might not cross a threshold into killing someone for power, but he'll still abuse and control his mate. He'll disown his kids on learning he was lied to, and is too proud to apologize and the bridge becomes too burnt to even try. He CAN be better, GOD he's SO close to it.
But he never does. And... you can't do anything about that.
But in THAT moment, it matters. He hesitates, but still jumps to Firestar's defense. Mothwing moved quicker, and he's ashamed of that.

sorry to spam you, but. what happens with scourge in your rewrite? he’s my favorite <3
Please, don't ever apologize for sending lots of asks! I love answering them and they can help me think of things I hadn't thought about before, or flesh an arc out. Send as many as you want, all of you!
Anyways, Scourge, the literal scourge of my brain, because I've had to rewrite him 3 different times.
This little guy has been reworked SO much. The first was to tell the story of a downfall, how sometimes people become worse than the people who hurt them, and pay for it, but showing that there was still 'Tiny' in there, having The Rise Of Scourge end with his spirit, now back to being Tiny, reuniting with Quince, while his older self faded away.
I... Hated the vibe. And I'm probably gonna save THAT kind of ending for someone else...
I then changed it to be somewhat more like Better Bones, but with Scourge remaining leader of Bloodclan.... But that also doesn't line up with the themes of Graystripe's Clan and Ravenpaw's Path, where Fury and Neo Bloodclan come into play.
I didn't wanna kill him. I didn't want him to join Thunderclan. I didn't want him to stay in Bloodclan....
Then, it hit me.
So... Meet the new Scourge. He can say the F word.
Scourge
His story is one about coming back from the brink of no return.
Firestar has noticed something about Scourge. The fur around his neck has rubbed off, his voice is brittle, swallowing is so difficult that he drools a bit, his breathing is shallow, and he's... Painfully underweight. Now, aside from the terrifying thought that is "how strong would this guy be if he WAS properly nourished?", he realizes that even if Scourge manages to make it through this battle, he will most likely not make it to next season.
In a flash, Firestar leaps onto Scourge's back, and sinks his teeth into his scruff and collar. Just like his new deputy Longtail did to him, he begins to pull, hoping and praying that Starclan will grant another miracle.
The collar snaps, just as Scourge is about to pass out, he takes in his first deep breath in ages. Firestar pays for it with his first life.
Swiftpaw, now posthumously named Swiftclaw, is chosen as his first life to lose. He feels the pain and terror and rage and desperation that Swiftclaw did, but he also puts pieces together. Why did this happen? The real why. Not just the dogs getting a taste for cat. Not Tigerstar's seemingly unending thirst for power. Before all that.
This problem is the fault of the Clans. Churning out radicalized youths who will hurt others because of the instilled belief that Might Makes Right. Sure, Scourge has taken things too far, and seems hellbent on revenge, but the seeds of this bloody battle were planted on Clan Land.
Blackfoot, Brokenstar, Leopardstar, Mistfang, Darkstripe, Longtail, even Crookedstar and Nightstar have all fallen victim to this belief at one point of another. Tigerstar was not made in a vacuum. This kind of "kill or be killed" mentality is not making the Clans strong, it is getting cats killed.
He sees another vision of himself fighting Scourge, killing him. But his sight flickers, and it makes him sick. Scourge's build is so much like Princess. His eyes the same shade of blue that Cloudtail has. He sees his own loved ones in the one he is fighting. He is sinking his teeth and claws into his own Kin.
And then, finally, he sees the vision of Tigerpaw being goaded by Thistleclaw to beat Tiny. Then Thistlepaw being rewarded by Adderfang for sparring with a Riverclan apprentice and tearing their ear. Adderfang charging into battle alongside his father, too eager to take a life from Heatherstar Heatherstep. Tigerclaw berating Darkpaw for failing a training exercise. Darkstripe getting his new apprentice Longpaw to eat prey instead of giving it to the sick elder... The vision ending with Longtail touching noses with the newly named Swiftpaw, a line of cats behind him so long it stretches into the shadows, endless kittens behind Swiftpaw, a mentorship doomed before it even began. Generations of cats hurting each other with no end in sight.
Enough is enough.
When he comes back to life, he slams against Scourge, dodging his attack again, and looking around to confirm his worst fears. All of Bloodclan's cats are fully grown. The Clans have brought apprentices. This victory is for the future, to Save The Clans as Fire Alone.
He slams Scourge against the ground, and knocks him out. However, Rooster, a Bloodclan cat, cries out that Scourge has been killed. To be fair to Rooster, Scourge is laying limp at the feet of Lionclan's leader.
While many Bloodclan cats scurry away, some to one day become Neo Bloodclan, Firestar taps the ground to call attention to Snowpaw, using a bit of Body Speaking to silently tell the deaf apprentice to sneak Scourge to camp, grabbing Scourge's torn collar and hiding it for later.
Bloodclan negotiations begin with the cats who stay and will later be seen in Graystripe's Clan.
Meanwhile, Snowpaw drags Scourge through the woods and sneaks him into Cinderpelt's den, scaring Cinderpelt half to death. She begins to treat Scourge, removing the enforced claw tips and gathering some food for him to eat without getting sick from the influx of sudden nutrition. Snowpaw is so friendly that he manages to become friends with Scourge while he is slowly recovering, hidden in the back of Cinderpelt's den and slowly putting on some weight as he eats with his friend while getting more comfortable with others. None of this would have happened if Snowkit had been taken by that hawk...
Eventually, he is healthy enough to groom himself properly and walk around. But... What now? Can he stay in Thunderclan? Would that be a safe option for him? Firestar is still teaching cats to unlearn their biases, and Scourge may be subject to suspicion and discrimination, which isn't fair to him.
Firestar talks with Princess, and the answer is clear.
His housefolk are not home now, haven't been in a week, but... Smudge is pretty lonely. Rusty left a bit of a hole there, he could use a good friend.
Scourge is brought to Smudge's home in the dark of the night, collar in his teeth, and welcomed inside. His collar tag reads 'Tiny' but with no phone number or microchip, Smudge's people take him in as their own, and Smudge isn't so lonely anymore.
Firestar left housecat life to be wild, proving himself with a broken collar, and Scourge is leaving wild life to be a housecat once more, saving himself with a broken collar.
He is seen during Firestar's Quest, slightly chubby and full of energy, and I might have him go on the Quest with them to round out the party. The important thing is, he is happy.
Princess's Short Story, currently unnamed, is about her passing, visiting her old friends and family as a spirit. She finds Scourge's spirit, along with Quince, Socks, and Smoke, enjoying a peaceful afterlife together.
He is allowed a place in Starclan and Sky-Starclan, and will reappear during Beyond The Stars as a supporting cast member.

yellowfang thoughts
the more i think about it, the more i realize how much of a deeply, deeply tragic character yellowfang is. everyone talks about how much she fucking sucks after she becomes a starclan cat, and they’re absolutely correct; she goes from the cool grouchy grandma to a complete fucking hypocrite. and for the longest time i thought this was completely OOC for her, but it recently hit me over the head that it might not be. to say that this change in character was intentional would be giving the erins WAY too much credit knowing who they are, but the more you think about her life and what she went through, the more it makes sense in a twisted sort of way.
starclan forced her into a life she never wanted. she wants to train as a warrior, but she is cursed with the power to feel other cats’ physical pain and badgered into becoming a medicine cat by sagewhisker until she gives in. she falls in love with raggedstar, but as as soon as things go south for her he offers no support. when she dares to go against the destiny that was laid out for her, when she continues to meet with him and becomes pregnant by him, starclan punishes her; not just by having two of her kits die, but by condemning the surviving kit to become a tyrant and a child murderer. he turns against his parents; he kills his father and frames his mother for his own crimes not knowing who she truly is, and yellowfang is forced to watch this all unfold from a distance, unable to tell her son the truth and wondering how things could be different if he knew. and finally, for the good of the clans, she has no other choice but to rip out his eyes and then poison him. her own son, the kit she herself bore, dead at her own claws. a cruel twist of fate for a cat who never wanted any of this, who just wanted her own life.
so by the time she gets to starclan, her experiences have changed her. so many innocent lives were lost and the clans were nearly destroyed because she disobeyed, because she went against their will. she even forgives sagewhisker for being so shitty to her because now she’s convinced that she was the one in the wrong and her mentor, a messenger for starclan, was acting in her best interests all along. she’s become so thoroughly traumatized by everything she went through that she decides she cannot let another cat experience what she experienced. now that she’s a part of starclan, she has the power to prevent something like this from ever happening again. but that’s just the thing. she’s a part of starclan. she’s a part of the system now; the very same system that screwed her over. and the system chews people up and spits them out until they become just another cog in the machine. so instead of going to the root of the problem and questioning the level of influence starclan has over living cats, she not only perpetuates the cycle but becomes an active participant in it.
and because firestar is the son she should have had, she sets her sights on his descendants.
she cannot prevent leafpool from bearing kits, as these kits have their own destiny they must fulfill. so she tells leafpool she must give up her kits, just as she had to. she lies to squirrelflight that she will never have kits of her own and that the three are her only chance to be a mother so that she will take them in. when they arrive in starclan moons later, she and others have the audacity to judge whether they are worthy to join their ranks or should be damned to the dark forest for their actions when they not only did exactly what they were told to do, but did the same things that she did and still went to starclan for (though to give her some credit, she is at least more sympathetic than the other judges and even defends them; perhaps out of guilt?). she allows ashfur into starclan on the basis that he “loved too much,” because her relationship with raggedstar warped her view of what healthy love should look like. she forces the kin of firestar’s kin—namely, jayfeather and dovewing—into destinies they want no part of; they’ll learn to love it, just like she did.
and she thinks she’s doing the right thing. she’s learned the hard way that going against starclan will only lead to more suffering. she’s convinced that she’s helping them, that by acting this way she will be able to prevent them from making the same mistakes that she made. but she cannot see that she is only inflicting on other cats the exact same suffering that starclan inflicted on her.
and if that isn’t tragic, i don’t know what is

Brambleflower aka. Brambleclaw redesign! Here he is malewife-ified Brambleclaw! I made him a more dull dusty cream tabby to reference my Tigerstar’s dull coat! I also wanted him to have a different coat color from his mom and Mothwing while still being blonde! He also has a little flower that he wears in honor of him mama :)
I know I already posted about my character/ plot changes for Bramble but I think I might change his plot even more... I just want him to be likeable! I want you to feel bad for this man! I am basically completely changing his character too lol, he is now a soft spoken anxious guy who is wayy to naïve (he doesn't notice how evil his brother Hawkfrost is bec “He’s my brother, he loves me :)”
I think I will have him never be in contact with Dark Forest Tigerstar, because I don't think this version of him would stupidly just hang out with his evil dad?? Like he knows how bad Tiger is! His mom, sister, and Firestar told him as much! He would NEVER trust Tiger! I think instead Hawkfrost just manipulates Bramble by using the “We are brothers” card to his advantage, as well as Bramble’s desperation for a sibling connection.
Also I might have him only start officially dating Squirrelflight after his fight with Hawkfrost and subsequent stepping down from Deputyship.
Idk , I will write up a new summary for his character later! I am just very determined to make him a loveable guy instead of his abusive asshole self in canon!

[Image ID: A digital drawing of Brambleflower aka. Brambleclaw from Warrior Cats. He is standing with his left side showing, and he has a shy expression on his face, along with a shy smile. He is a big long furred tan and cream tabby tom with yellow and orange eyes. He is mostly a light dusty tan color, with a lighter cream color closer to his stomach, and on the bottom of his legs, he has white on his muzzle , long cheek fur, neck, stomach and paws. He has dusty brown stripes and a long hair tuft, of the same color, covering his right eye. He has a scar over the bridge of his nose, as well as two scars on his ide and a torn left ear. His scars, inner ears and nose are all pink./End ID]

Just found Tinystars Beginning and binge read Into the Wild in less than a day. They should hire you to write for the main series ngl. Any plans to do something with the Super Editions?
Oh wow, thanks!
As far as the Super Editions go, I do have a few ideas - one mirroring Bluestar's Prophecy, one mirroring Firestar's Quest, and an original one that rolls in a lot of the concepts and locations from later SEs. Honestly, I think that's all I've got in me, since I've got a very definite end to the TB series in mind, whether I finish it or not.
I also don't intend for these to be required reading to understand the main series, which is always a pit the canon Super Editions fall into - so I don't have to rush to work on them, and I can figure them out when I feel like it.
Brief concepts for the three (without obvious spoilers):
Tinystar's Quest - (their titles are not meant to be 1:1 with their canon counterparts, I just don't have a confirmed title for this one, as, frankly, its the least important one in my mind) after learning that Fiona has been having visions of a StarClan warrior, Tinystar and Cloudtail must help her forge her destiny and rebuild a tragically forgotten piece of Clan history - SkyClan.
Like Fire - this one is about Bluestar! Because it details a lot of prequel stuff, obviously, and follows Bluestar's story from kithood to tyrant :D Being a prequel, there's a LOT of family-tree and timeline stuff that I am trying very hard not to mess up, so this one, while exciting, is probably the most intimidating!
The Wander - since I revealed it in an ask, this one is about Sandstorm's journey home! It's a very emotional story! Out of all these concepts, I think this is the one I'm most likely to work on before the others.
I've toyed with the idea of condensing my Po3/Omen of the Stars arc into three super-edition length stories, mainly because having four different PoVs might be hard to make satisfying over six books, but I have no idea if that's what I'll do yet lol
I'd love to write for the Warriors series, but I think I'd like to duck the main books if I could, lol. The output is just too fast. The TB AU isn't perfect by any means, but if I were forced to write at the pace the Erins are at, I'm pretty sure I'd get unbearably sloppy - or I would upset the editors for not working fast enough, lol.
Side note - I know during the early years of the TB AU, I was pretty open about trashing the Erins. I regret that now. A series this big is incredibly difficult to produce and keep things straight - some of those issues are their fault, but I think most of the blame is on their editors and timelines. They're just not given the time or space to really flex themselves, and that's sad.

not to be cringe but do you have any advice for running a character ask blog? Aiming for something kinda lowkey like with Bean (also I love bean. I love to see what she’s up to)
not sure how helpful some of these will be since they're just what i do for my personal projects but for sure!!!
uuuuhhh basic overview stuff
if you're doing an oc blog, chances are it probably won't receive as much attention as a canon character/story blog. just sort of the way things go! if you want to draw some attention, you might want to think about non-ask related stuff you can post (clangen blogs do this with the mini event posts, keeps the world moving!)
even with canon character blogs, giving pieces of character lore, worldbuilding, mini stories can help keep the world more alive. but that's when you got time and if it seems fun, you should just do things if you want to tbh
i keep all my stuff in a doc and add and edit whenever i put new info on the blog to keep things consistent. i just put them in little sections to help me find things (beanie lore, worldbuilding, spirits, etc.) but simple bullet points are easy.
if you're doing an original character and world, i would highly recommend giving your readers some worldbuilding and lore to help them invest themselves. people don't know the boundaries of things and while you can have them ask, a little nudge definitely helps.
for a canon blog, i'd pick a specific time period. it'll save you grief if you know who's alive and who isn't, as well as the grief that comes with trying to figure out what you want to change (if you want to change things that is. i like fucking with canon but it really is up to you and the story you want to tell).
you can improvise it as you go, but i do recommend jotting them down somewhere after the fact so you can keep things consistent. up to you though, i just have a piss poor memory lol
figure out if you want to try and do an overarching story, mini stories, or no stories. you don't have to decide right away and you can even decide after you start the blog and get a vibe of what people are interested in, but sometimes it is good to jot them down if they come to you right away.
you're supposed to have fun if you're not having fun don't do it, take a break from the blog or steer it in the direction you want. no one is paying you (i think) so everything you do you should do because you enjoy doing it.
art for an ask blog (if ur doing art if not skip this)
your main character should be easy to recreate on model and most importantly: fun to draw!!! overly complicated character designs are fun in the beginning but after five or more you're going to start to hate them.
i'd also recommend against doing too many tiny "floating" bits, keeping things attached to a body part or in proximity to a space easy to recreate them will save you grief. i learned this the hard way after i kept forgetting all those damn tiny scars i put on my fallen stars!firestar design. in comparison, beanie's design for the blog has a few scars but the placement makes it so they're easy to recreate and draw.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(how i style my reference sheets. do not be me. do not fall into hubris and add so many damn floaty scars to a character that is the main damn character of your goddamn big ass au blog. fucking icarus move lol)
if you introduce a new character, make an easy quick ref sheet for yourself. it'll save you grief and keep things consistent.
i'd also figure out if you want to do colors or no colors. no coloring means you have more time to put effort into sketches and can just move faster if you're looking for something breezy and easy. but colors look good, they make it easier to tell cats apart and are just much nicer on the eyes. if you also have a bigger cast in mind, you can rely on colors a little more than body shapes to make sure everyone can be told apart
i color my sketch lines different colors for different characters on the beanie blog but there are plenty of other ways to make sure characters are told apart! @/askcinders does distinct shapes and different base colors for different characters and lines distinct markings so you can tell whose who.
backgrounds are...difficult. i'd recommend simplicity over complexity and save big backgrounds for "big moments", but it's up to you if you like them! i would just say go simple since the focus of these blogs are the characters.
theeeeennn speech bubbles or no speech bubbles. i like doing doing speech bubbles within the text because it gives me more control of the order the reader will read the dialogue, how they read it, the emotions i can elicit from it, and more fun with how i can place the dialogue. buuuuuut that does mean spacing them, and spacing dialogue bubbles can be a pain since it takes up room if you forget to sketch their placement in the original sketch (which i do. a lot).
so the other option is art and then dialogue underneath directly in the post. this saves you room, makes art probably a lot easier, and circumvents the issue of difficult to read speech bubbles! i do both but it's up to you, both methods are tried and true.
aaannnndd that's all that comes to mind? really it's just about having fun. as you work at it, chances are you'll probably figure out your own individual work style. best of luck (and i'm very excited to see what you come up with)!!!!!!!

Crumb 2
@moss-path's au where Squirrel and Leaf have The Three + Alder and Spark is great, so I made a slightly different version because I love SquirrelCrow too and the potential is just juicy
Squirrel+Crow and Leaf+Hawk.
Squirrel and Crow get close during the journey and especially mourn over Feathertail's death. They were both super close to her, and Brambleclaw and Stormfur are distant, so they have eachother. (I have rewrites where there's different cats on the journey, but Crow and Squirrel are always there so it works everywhere.) Leafpaw has to go to Riverclan with Cinderpelt a lot to cure a bad case of greencough that Mudfur caught as well. Mothwing is learning through them, but she cannot yet go to the Moonstone because of some weird monsters by the caves. Hawkfrost, her brother, starts hanging out with them more and more, seemingly very interested in Leafpaw (who is an adult but cannot get her name because of the Moonstone situation). Mothwing is a bit skeptical but she wants her brother to be happy, and Leafpaw is her friend. Hawk makes her feel special, like she's the Moon herself... Cinderpelt does not like this and when they leave she tries telling Leafpool that he's bad news. Leafpaw does not listen, she misses her support system in Squirrelpaw and Whitepaw, she thought she found friends and now they're gone. She sneaks out without her permission.
Anyway, they reach the Lake, they get their names, he'll yeah. Crowfeather and Squirrelflight miss eachother a lot, but after the Windclan rebellion they have uuh hung out too much and she's pregnant. Squirrelflight is scared, and they plan on having Crowfeather move over to Thunderclan... and that night the Badgers attack, and Cinderpelt is dead. Cinderpelt might have helped, but she could not. Leafpool, after noticing how Hawkfrost is trying to manipulate her and seeing him in the Dark Forest, cuts off with him. Mothwing is the one that warns her of the faked signs, and they work together to kill him in the fox trap, Brambleclaw is unable to move and this leads to bad stuff(tm). She is also pregananant. They sneak out in the night, telling the clan they believe something's calling them, and they give birth in the middle of winter in an old stump. I want to show that they have some spirits helping them, Shrewpaw, Yellowfang (who's not an asshole) and surprisingly, Mapleshade, who leads Mothwing and Crowfeather to them to help them out with food and herbs. Funny thing: no kits die! Not even Juniper and Dandelion!... because Moth and Crow bring them back: they are Breezekit and Willowkit. Willow is given to uuh I dunno? And Breeze to Nightcloud, since she just lost her kits.
I think the clan thinks they're Bramble's but they are not together so Squirrel raises them with her besties Daisy and Ferncloud. Moth and Sorrel help out Leafpool, who's not handling the postpartum depression well, but still dotes on the kittens. Also, Crow + Squirrel have Jay, Juniper/Breeze, and Holly, and Hawk + Leaf have Lion, Alder, Spark and Dandelion/Willow. The prophecy Firestar gets is about five feathers falling in camp with the leafbare wind, they're dark feathers with a shimmering blue eye pattern (like a peacock), while two others blow away. The prophecy might be about "your blood runs along feathered, chilly winds, and in their conjunction, the stars shine brighter than ever."

So since Rusty was hated so much, and his family shunned, why did Princess give up her one child to him? Wouldn't she have wanted to maybe keep her kids away? Since if word got out that she gave Cloudtail to Fireheart, she would've gotten worse treatment
Tumblr media
I… have no clue. I have maybe an idea though
Princess and FireHeart were especially close, before the two got adopted and taken to different houses, so Princess was more willing to talk to FireHeart, try to reason with him, y'know. She had to keep their meetings a secret too, otherwise she'd be shunned even further herself. Perhaps she trusted FireHeart, maybe a little too much. She gave CloudKit to him, she trusted him to take care (or have another cat) take care of the so that she never really wanted (read: Princess and Oliver's relationship for more info). She never hated CloudKit, she just never wanted kittens.
I think when CloudPaw's eventual visits got less and less frequent, up until he stopped showing up, Princess was worried sick and confused. Until CloudTail scrambled to Chelford, tears streaming down his eyes as he ran his way to Princess' twoleg nest, crying about these cats named SwiftPaw and BrightPaw, that the two cats were mauled by a pack of dogs and SwiftPaw was dead and BrightPaw was sent comatose, barely alive. I like to think from here, CloudTail might have secretly stayed with Princess for the comfort, he felt so guilty, he was so stressed and scared that bile constantly rose in his throat.
Don't know where I'd go from here, but when Scourge was killed by FireStar, I think that might have been the last straw for Princess, remember, Chelford cats are known for being chatty, and she heard from the cries of Bloodclan cats that "Rusty" killed Scourge. I think CloudTail would feel even more guilty, feeling like he had a hand in Scourge's death, but he took that secret with him to the Lake.
I'd love to hear any ideas because… I'm stumped on this

I can honestly see the secret that Bramblestar trained in hell getting out and all the other clans learning of it, with Bramble and his close family then falling from grace being one of the few things that might stop Ashfur from turning evil. Especially as this is the SE were Jesse comes in, and Squirrel/Bramble almost actually break up in canon...with Squirrel knowing he trained in Hell, and if Jesse is a thing in your rewrite then the break up is quite possible, knowing Squirrel's personality. I hope she never finds out that Bramble actually debated on letting her father die when Hawkfrost had him in the fox trap...because it would be over.
Oh yeah it definitely gets out, and the other Clans are NOT HAPPY.
Onestar is more forgiving, on account of the fact he "forgave" Breezepelt in Dovewing's Silence. Blackstar is mega pissed. In Bramblestar's Storm he was incredibly insistent of remembering and honoring those who passed, insisting that they recite the deads' names at the gathering. So in the rewrite, he's just. So mad.
But Mistystar is the worst. Because Brambleclaw didn't just train in the DF, he trained with TIGERSTAR. The Tigerstar who annexed RiverClan, who intimidated Leopardstar, and who tried to execute two apprentices and actually executed her brother. The Tigerstar who wanted them all dead for their mixed heritage.
Mistystar is a force to be reckoned with.
I'm thinking Squirrel and Bramble will definitely break up. It's just too much. Even without learning about his hesitancy to save Firestar. Their relationship is so screwed.
I honestly don't know if Ashfur will forget his plans. His whole ordeal in TBC was more based on him wanting Squirrelflight than him hating Bramblestar; Bramble was just a tool. I think he might still try to get to Squirrel, just through different means ',:]

Graystripe's Vow/Warriorclan rant
I finished reading Graystripe's vow, and I actually really liked it! It kept me relatively interested honestly, especially with Warriorclan. My head was buzzing with ideas for an au for them, its extremely unlikely, but I'm hoping they get revisited. PLEASE ERINS IM BEGGING. I want to see Monkeystar again, and I want her to like, want to lead Warriorclan and begin to see it as more than a game.(?) I'm unsure if she doesn't or does already. I WANT to see Warriorclan be more than a one-off kittypet group. Since the Moonstone is shattered she wouldn't get her nine lives but,, It would be cool if she had got some anyway. Not the full amount, but by the time she figures out she can and goes there Graystripe might be dead already? (I skipped to graystripes vow, i am at the first book of arc two.) Graystripe could guide Monkeystar there to get a couple lives, or just be a guide for Warriorclan in general. Feathertail can go to different places as a spirit, and other cats can just wander. So I'm sure Graystripe could make an occasional travel to where the shattered moonstone is and commune with the Warriorclan cats. Making sure everything is going well and providing regretfully vague guidance. He would probably inform Monkeystar more of how the clans work, like the warrior code, etc. Monkeystar would definitely argue about some rules in the warrior code, much to Graystripe's dismay. Well, the revised warrior code. Even more revised once Monkeystar gets her paws on it. Im sure the other starclan cats that reside with the shattered parts of the moonstone would agree with Monkeystar too. idk im just really curious about how Warriorclan could work? Im unsure if Skyclans gorge territory is like, unruined by twolegs yet(I have not read firestars quest) but a group there as well could be interesting perhaps.

Golfy is literally one of my favorite cats of all time and I adore the way you’ve characterized her!! Any fun tidbits to share? I want to know more about the woman
There's a sketch of her floating around if you want to go on a treasure hunt! I don't have time to look for it right now (I am currently in the trunk of a clown car), but I've actually drawn a beta of her design and her big mane
Also note: BB!Goldenflower is part of the Doekin line. Speckletail's perception of herself and her family is tied strongly to being Doestar's niece. This association dies out with Thornclaw in BB!OotS as he's the last one to strongly value this legacy.
Golfy's mane is so poofy, unmanageabley poofy. She keeps it braided
Lionheart just surrendered to entrophy on that one lmao. "Dirt happens."
It's my little way of trying to show the difference between the siblings.
They're both proud and honorable, but Lionheart is more calm and patient. He's a Que Sera Sera kind of guy.
Goldenflower is more fond of the expression, "Fortune favors the prepared."
Note to self: Clanmewnize these expressions. Que Sera Sera is notably quite RiverClannish... Golfy's phrase is definitely from early ThunderClan
Not to get too distracted but I recently got this FANTASTIC idea for how to close out Book 3 of BB!DOTC on a bittersweet note, involving The First Boarhunt and Clear Sky being delightfully devious as always. Maybe it would be cool to put that phrase there... anyway.
She had three siblings total, Lionheart, Mistleclaw, and Snowkit. It's really difficult being the last one; family was extremely important to her.
Mistleclaw wasn't even a year out of apprenticeship; you're really considered an ADULT adult after being on your own for a year. Losing her was like losing a sibling who's college-aged. That was to the plague, before Firestar's arrival.
Smallear was openly the father of all four of them, but Goldenflower hesitates to call him Ba. Him and Speckletail had a really toxic on-again off-again thing.
Smallear was closest to Mistleclaw, who coincidentally looked the most like him. Goldenflower is like... "yeah thats what i expected of him, that fish-eared loser"
She's biased in favor of her mother though. Lionheart was more chill with Smallear; not CLOSE but, neutral-positive.
It wasn't entirely Smallear's fault that the relationship kept falling apart though, to be clear. I use toxic in this use very much on purpose, it wasn't abuse, they really cannot get along.
So when Goldenflower eventually picked a mate, she REALLY just wanted a stable lifepartner that would not be like that.
I would describe her relationship with Tigerclaw more in the terms of an "arrangement." Fishing for romantic information from her is VERY funny because she just like. Doesn't "get" romance.
Brambleclaw: "Mom... what did you... like about dad?"
"He was large, we were both very large. And he was a responsible warrior, respected and ambitious. Well... at the time we believed that. And he spoke with great confidence. He had a way of making you feel like you were both safe and powerful by his side."
It will not even click for her that most people don't open the answer to "why did you love x" with "he was tall like me"
(VINE BOOM AROACE FLAG)
She wanted kits and a partner. She doesn't regret the relationship, she regrets what he made her believe.
On Tigerclaw's end, it was mutual. They both liked each other as trusted Clanmates. He was attracted to her and reciprocated when she proposed a mateship, but I don't think he ever really got over Spottedleaf romantically.
Plus, getting into this family was a smart political move. Having Speckletail's approval was VERY useful.
I might stick Goldenflower as Head of Hunting through TNP to early Po3, until she trains a successor, since there's no rush. I have an allegiance list floating around but I can't remember off the top of my head if she's where she should be
She's actually super disappointed in Tawnypelt for her choice. I don't think they ever reconcile this, they're both too proud
So she's kinda iffy on that alliance with ShadowClan. Not to the point of spite, but she does easily believe stereotypes about them.
"A bunch of holdouts of TigerClan and duplicitous fiends over there."
Both Golfy and Tawnp miss each other a lot, but again. Neither one is going to apologize to the other or say the other was even slightly correct.
And Golfy wouldn't accept it if Tawnp even did. She made her choice. They're in different Clans now. She chose her father, who killed Swiftpaw and Lionheart.
And for that, Golfy will not forgive her.
If they ended up in a battle, neither would hold back. They both know this.
I'm really fond of her. She really is Speckletail's daughter and the whole family has a special flavor of pain and pride.

Curious to hear about Sandstorm in your rewrite. At least tell me she gets a cooler death
Sandstorm, the future Patron of Food Security! Prayed to, to keep Clans fed and hunts successful.
She gets a silly little moment with Firepaw when they first meet. Love at first sight from him, angelic choir, sparkles, hearts and all that... Only for her to hiss at him about "having to sleep next to a stinky kittypet"
She was sometimes jokingly referred to as Redtail's daughter, and it gave her a very complicated relationship with him. He was nice, and honorable, and everyone liked him... But he wasn't her parent, she didn't see him like that, he just found her, and she didn’t want to be in his shadow. When he died, it gave her emotions a bit too big to handle, and she took it out on Firepaw, a very easy target. Her bond with his mate, Runningwind, only came in after Redtail's death, and even then, that story never gets a complete ending, Runningwind dying too soon for Sandstorm to resolve how she feels. She has 0 connection with their adoptive/surrogated son, Stemkit/Stempaw/Stempelt.
It's about the What Might Have Been. Moving on from an incomplete puzzle that might not have even been one in the first place. She has No Discernable Heritage.
While she is still not given Tawnypaw to mentor, it isn't because of "Oh I don't wanna put her in danger" bs. Fireheart saw a sweet connection between Tawnykit and her aunt, Mistfang. He wanted to foster that. Also, Sandstorm being injured in the same patrol that Runningwind was killed in.
Skipping a bit forward, I can tell you that the one line in The Ultimate Guide about having wanted more kits but never wanting to bother Firestar was heartbreaking... and stupid. It's Sandstorm for goodness sake! If she has a thought she will express it! Instead, WCR!Sandstorm is mote than happy with her little family. She loves her daughters and the 4 of them are a perfect family in her mind. She actively doesn't want more kits. Also, she is pregnant during Firestar's Quest.
Her death in WCR!AVOS is different. I refuse to let her die in camp, but I also refuse to "thin the crowd" with a pathetic death for such a loved character. Instead, that death goes to Molewhisker. Molewhisker dies during The Apprentice's Quest, Sandstorm getting a cool scar on her shoulder.
She dies in the second book, when The Kin shows up and begins its insidious recruitment, drawing in cats of all backgrounds. Clan, Loner, Kittypet, and Rogue. When it becomes more clear what Darktail is doing, Sparkpaw fights back against him, and Sandstorm watches Darktail manage to grapple on top of her granddaughter. No one else knew she was there, as Bramblestar kept insisting she stayed in camp...
Sandstorm lunges at Darktail. Bowling into him and winding him. She rips his ear badly and puts deep scratches into his muzzle, urging Sparkpaw to run as Darktail reels from the injuries. Sparkpaw gets a front row seat as Darktail lunges for her grandmother one last time. He kills Sandstorm with a bite to her throat, but is tackled off by Hollyleaf and Lionblaze. Sparkpaw brings Sandstorm away from the fight and stay with her until she very quickly bleeds out.
It's the 'spark' that starts a chain reaction in Thunderclan. Sandstorm is honoured as a hero, and many cats fight in her name. Sparkpelt is.... Traumatized.
Sandstorm is also one of Skyclan's Patrons, along with Firestar, Smudge, and Scourge. Patrons of Rebirth.

I was thinking, and it would make a pretty neat warrior cats rewrite/au if some of the events of various arcs were switched around. I’d leave the cats mostly the same, though. The outline is under the cut because it got pretty long.
Arc 1 - The Prophecies Begin. Just leave this one pretty much the same.
Arc 2 - Darktail and the Kin - So in this version Darktail can’t be Onestar’s son, he’d be too young. Instead, he’s the son of Blackstar and a Bloodclan she-cat. Darktail’s Kin is assembled from some Bloodclan cats and some rogues. Blackstar allows him into the clan because Darktail’s his son, but also because a lot of Shadowclan cats did bad things and want to be forgiven, so they want to offer that same chance to the former Bloodclan cats. - Darktail takes more and more control, some cats leaves Shadowclan, but Blackstar doesn’t want to admit that things are bad because he wants to prove he’s different from the last couple Shadowclan leaders. Eventually there’s a face off, Blackstar may or may not die. - Darktail has still been to Skyclan (or what remains of it), and has left Skywatcher as the only Skyclan cat left. This prompts Cloudstar to seek out Firestar, leading into Firestar’s Quest.
Arc 3 - The New Prophecies. -  The only thing that’s really different plot-wise here is that since Squirrelflight and Crowfeather are apprentices during Arc 2 they’d already be warriors. I’d replace Crowfeather’s warrior ceremony with a scene where he requests to change his warrior name to Crowfeather, in honor of Feathertail to keep things on track.
Arc 4 - The Broken Code (plus po3, minus the imposter) - This was the change that inspired this whole thing. One of the big problems with po3 in my opinion is that they do a lot to set up how important the destiny cats are with very little payoff. Plus, since the threat isn’t revealed until later, they spend a lot of time looking for problems to solve. So, let’s set them up with a problem from the get go. - The clans have arrived at the lake territories, but they can’t contact Starclan. - Onestar can’t get his 9 lives, which Sol uses to manipulate him and take over Windclan. - Jayfeather’s dream walking ability lets them gather all the info he would have gotten from Starclan, which he uses to drive the plot. This includes faking signs from Starclan. I think this would also add importance to his choice to become a medcat. Instead of “the blind cat is bad at fighting and good at smelling herbs” it becomes “I have outside info and the best way to present this info is to pretend it came from Starclan.” - Lionblaze still has his physical powers, but I’d change them just a bit. Canonically, his powers are strength-based and are portrayed as being good at fighting and difficult to hurt. I’d keep him being good at fighting and difficult to hurt, but make it stealth-based instead. He’s just kind of hard to look directly at, cats’ eyes slip off of him, which makes it hard to aim attacks at him. This would also let him be a little more involved, since he can go where other cats can’t and can do the physical parts of faking the signs. I also think it would be funny for big, bright gold Lionblaze to be the sneaky one. - Hollyleaf is still powerless, but I’d add to her character arc. Firstly, cats are worried that Starclan’s silence is because they’re breaking the code, giving her love of the warrior code a purpose. For a bit, she thinks her power might be that she can sense when someone is breaking the code. When she reveals her bio parents, she’s not just making a dramatic speech, she’s pointing to them as code breakers before putting herself into exile. - Her lack of powers is explained by Starclan’s silence. They gathered enough power to break through and give the 3 their powers when they were born, with Hollyleaf being the last to be born. But the birth was difficult, she was delayed, and Starclan lost it’s connection before they could give her the power. - The arc would end with Jayfeather and Lionblaze breaking through the barrier to Starclan briefly. They can give the third cat her power, but Hollyleaf is missing and they have a short time limit before the connection is lost again. - Unbeknownst to them, Dovekit and Ivykit snuck out of camp to follow them and tumble down into the hollow with the Moonpool. - Out of options, they give the powers to Dovekit.
Arc 5 - Oots + the end of the Broken Code - A lot of Oots progresses as normal. Dovewing is used for her powers, exacerbated by the fact that she was forced into them and they weren’t supposed to be hers in the first place. Ivypool saw her get the powers and doesn’t understand why she didn’t also get powers, which builds into her resentment. - The Dark Forest is blocking Starclan’s connection, but they can still reach cats.  Ivypool trains with them like normal. - At the end, several cats go into the Dark Forest to fight Tigerstar and his cats. Firestar kills Tigerstar’s ghost and dies in the process. Hollyleaf also dies. - The arc ends with Starclan delivering the first prophecy in a couple arcs, leading into AVOS.
Arc 6 - A Vision of Shadows + The Imposter Arc - The arc picks up with Alderkit and Sparkkit having been born, Bramblestar has been leader for a bit, and no progress as been made on the prophecy. - Shortly after the kits are apprenticed, Bramblestar begins acting strange. - Alderpaw and Needlepaw go find Twigkit and Violetkit. Sparkpaw is also a pov character so we have eyes on imposter Bramblestar while they’re gone. I combined these because I think seeing imposter Bramblestar through the pov of his kits would just be better. - Imposter Bramblestar uses the prophecy to justify his actions, convincing Twigpaw to go along with it. - While searching for the Sky from the prophecy, they find Tree, who shows Bramblestar’s spirit. Bramblestar tells them about Skyclan and tells them that there’s something coming. He doesn’t know what it is, but all 5 clans needs to be together to survive it. - They bring back Skyclan, but imposter Bramblestar is hostile and keeps arguing. They reveal what Tree told them, and there is a fight. - During the fight, Bramblestar is killed and Tree shows them the transfer of spirits. - Ashfur and Bramblestar fight as ghosts, with Bramblestar taking back his body. Ashfur reveals his motives, that he’d been fine in Starclan, except then Hollyleaf joined Starclan, and Bramblestar became leader, and he and Squirrelflight had kits in pretty quick succession, which is what caused him to snap. Ashfur’s ghost is killed. - Skyclan settles into their new territory, but the mystery of what threat was coming lingers.
Arc 7 - The Great Battle - The arc picks up after a time skip, with Bristlefrost, Rootspring, and Shadowsight as the pov characters. There is an increase in general ghost activity, which freaks Rootspring out and he begins investigating. - Instead of Ashfur, Hawkfrost is the one manipulating Shadowsight, giving him false visions. These visions encourage the clans to be separate and hostile with each other. - Bristlefrost, having been rejected by Stemleaf, is visited by Mapleshade. Mapleshade commiserates with her, then begins training her, using Bristlefrost’s ambition to lure her into the Dark Forest. - Rootspring sees Hawkfrost’s ghost around Shadowsight, and begins asking around to find out who he is. Bristlefrost recognizes Hawkfrost from the Dark Forest, making her suspicious. - Stemleaf turns up dead, and the trio begin investigating. Spotfur moves to the nursery having Stemleaf’s kits, and Mapleshade encourages Bristlefrost to kill her and the kits, which causes Bristlefrost to fully break away from the Dark Forest. - The trio works together to uncover the Dark Forest’s plot, and discover that the threat coming is the Great Battle, which plays out pretty similarly to how it is in the books.

Can you give a list of which warrior cat characters take the role of the Moral Orel characters, as well as any warrior cats characters in the au that don't fit a specific role? I'm curious
clay---> bramblestar
bloberta--> squirrelflight
reverend putty---> crowfeather
danielle---> ashfur
orel---> sparkpelt and alderheart, they kind of represent the different things orel goes thru (ex: sparkpelt is the one who gets shot in the leg, alderheart is the more religious one)
stephanie---> hollyleaf
lion and jay are raised by bramble and squirrel alongside with holly before spark and alder are born!
jay grows up to be a doctor, but prefers to work at the blood bank so he doesn't have to see leaf every day
lion grows up to be the next gym teacher after ashfur is killed
leafpool and mothwing are both nurses at the hospital, other med cats are there too!
firestar used to be the old mayor of moralton before retiring
moonlight and fallen leaves are some of the residents of sinville
bramblestar's birthplace is away from moralton, golden and tiger got divorced when bramble and tawny were really small and bramble ran away when he was around 14 to live with hawk and tiger for a while, before moving to moralton by himself when he was 17
i think thats all!! i might still ad characters in the future :3

Idk if I’ve said this before. Maybe I have- but I do feel like it’s necessary to mention that she-cats can get pregnant with multiple toms kits all the time.
I do feel like Squirrelkit and Leafkit should still have Sandstorm give birth to them and Shriketail should still be tom. I love the non-binary cats but I still wanna keep realistic.
I don’t see why this can’t happen sense it is super common in actual felines. I do wanna mention that, yes I agree in making Leafpool 2ish moons older then Squirrelflight to make her a little closer to Mothpool but 2 moons doesn’t make much of a difference.
This is just my take on things, and you might think differently. I am just stating something that has been floating around my mind when I read your posts. Especially your most recent.
Ya! I just changed up the way Squirrel and Leaf are born to fit with this idea!
Firestar and Sandstorm are trans and Shriketail is cis! Fire has a litter of both Sand and Shrike's kits!
I think that the Moth and Leaf age gap isnt too bad, especially since in RoC she is born later, I think Leopard was only just pregnant when Tiger died!
