TWST OC INTRODUCTION - TCOAV
Joel Bullion - Makings of Greatness
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Joel Bullion
Nicknames: Buzzbait, Thistle
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/they
Sexuality: Aromantic Asexual
Birthday: November 30 (Sagittarius)
Age: 39 (In canon and AU)
Height: 6'2 or 188cm
Voice Claim(s): Jellzybelle
Tumblr media
Twisted from: John Silver from Treasure Planet.
Unique Magic: "Rattle the Stars" Summons exactly that in the palm of Joel's robotic hand: a star. However, this is not just any star, this star's life flashes before your eyes, resulting in a controlled supernova. It creates a burning hot flash bang, with tremors forming cracks in the ground depending on the magnitude of the star itself. The explosion knocks enemies away from Joel. The size of the star dictates how much magic they will use, as well as how much blot he will accumulate. He is unsure what the maximum size of a star he can create is, but he does know that he has gotten dangerously close to overblotting while trying. In his current state, the blast is not deadly and primarily works to stun opponents or, at most, render them unconscious.
Grade: Teaches Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors
Class: Teaches Culinary Crucible, Astrology, and Tech. Occasionally aids with Physical Education.
Hobbies: Treasure hunting, finding constellations, hiking, traveling, spelunking, deadlifting, cooking.
Likes: Pernil, old school tech, adventure novels, hard cash, or anything he can sell for gold really, pranking Ezra and Crowley, telescopes, planetary science, zodiac signs.
Dislikes: Grading (this man should not be a teacher), any dish with fish in it, sticklers, staying still, overt formality, the cold, humorless individuals.
Fears: Immobility, optometric illnesses, not amounting to anything, not living his life to the fullest, birds.
Summary: "Why does he even teach?" is a question that crosses the mind of almost every NRC student in one of Joel's classes. He's shameless, sarcastic, and finds entertainment in messing with students and staff alike. Teaching is only a side job for him, his real passions lie elsewhere. Nonetheless, he is highly skilled in a variety of subjects, making him indispensable.
He abuses that privilege, of course, taking the time to have as much fun as he can in what he calls a boring dump of a school and make sure everyone around him suffers for it. Though this usually just amounts to light teasing and pranks. They do not behave like an educator or mentor. He does not typically enjoy interacting with most of his students in a serious manner, and the ones they do enjoy talking with are treated more like casual, distant friends.
With the responsibility of teaching so many subjects heavy on their shoulders, he does make plenty of time to shrug it off to work on his true dream: getting as rich as possible. Now, now, there are plenty of figures at NRC who want that, yeah? But Joel wants the lottery. He wants to struggle, look high and low, and come out above everyone with something ancient, shiny, and, hopefully, covered in expensive jewels. Over everything and everyone, they enjoy the hunt of it. To the point where he values it above people and relationships. Hell, they'd fly to the moon to get it if they had to.

Author's Notes: JOEL. Ahhh Joel. I'll admit, this was harder to write compared to the others! Everyone else's development, personality, struggles, etc. came very naturally to me, while, with joel, I really had to sit and brainstorm for awhile. Though, I can now say that he has grown on me a lot, and I plan on giving him more of a role in TCOAV like Ezra! I have lots of plans for him! Old ass man <33 (affectionate, /j) this will probably be the last new TCOAV oc for a while! But just know, there will be more >:)

Colors and entire plastic worm can easily make a big difference on any lake you fish on. I have fished numerous lengths and colors prior to choosing what really preps a constant time frame. How do you figure that finally out? I live on a small lake in Wisconsin. I have used many different techniques outside the normal live bait choices like minnows, nightcrawlers, crickets, grubs, helgramites and more. Mastering the Art of Topwater Fishing: Tips and Tricks
Topwater fishing is an exhilarating technique that adds an element of excitement to your angling experience. The explosive strikes and heart-pounding moments as a fish breaches the surface create memories that linger long after the fishing trip is over. Mastering the art of topwater fishing involves understanding the right techniques, lures, and strategies to entice fish lurking beneath the water's surface. In this guide, we'll explore fishingforbig tips and tricks to elevate your topwater fishing game.
1. Choose the Right Lure
Selecting the right topwater lure is crucial for success. Various types of topwater lures mimic different prey and trigger distinct predatory responses from fish. Consider these popular types:
Popper: This lure features a concave mouth that creates a popping sound when twitched. It imitates injured prey and often attracts aggressive strikes.
Walking Bait: Also known as a "walk-the-dog" bait, it has a side-to-side swimming action when twitched. This mimics a wounded or struggling baitfish, enticing fish to strike.
Buzzbait: With a spinning blade that creates surface disturbance and vibration, the buzzbait imitates a fleeing creature. It's effective in low light or murky water conditions.
Frog: Designed to imitate frogs or other surface-dwelling creatures, frogs excel in dense vegetation. They often feature weedless designs to navigate through lily pads and grass.
Prop Bait: Equipped with spinning propellers, this lure creates a unique disturbance on the water's surface, resembling a struggling or wounded baitfish.
Tumblr media
2. Master the Twitch and Pause Technique
Topwater lures are most effective when used with the twitch and pause technique. After casting, impart a series of short twitches to create enticing movements on the water's surface. This action mimics the erratic behavior of injured or distressed prey. Follow each twitch with a pause, allowing the lure to sit momentarily. This pause can trigger aggressive strikes from curious or opportunistic fish. Experiment with the cadence and duration of your twitches and pauses to determine what the fish are responding to on a given day.
3. Time Your Topwater Fishing
Timing is crucial when it comes to topwater fishing. The best opportunities often arise during low-light periods, such as dawn and dusk. Overcast days can extend the topwater bite into the daytime. Fish are more likely to venture into shallower areas during these times, making them more accessible to topwater lures. Additionally, topwater fishing can be highly productive in the spring and fall when fish are more active near the surface.
4. Adjust to Water Conditions
Adapting your topwater fishing approach to the prevailing water conditions enhances your chances of success. In clear water, use more natural-colored lures and employ subtle twitches to avoid spooking fish. In murky or stained water, opt for lures with more significant silhouette and vibration to attract fish from a distance. Pay attention to the presence of structure, such as submerged rocks, logs, or vegetation, as these areas are likely to hold fish.
5. Be Mindful of Your Equipment
Using the right equipment is essential for effective topwater fishing. Choose a rod with a medium to medium-heavy power and a fast action. This allows for accurate casting and better control over the lure. Spinning or baitcasting reels with a high gear ratio are suitable for quick retrieval when working topwater lures. Use monofilament or braided line for increased sensitivity and better control of the lure.
6. Understand Fish Behavior
To master topwater fishing, understanding the behavior of the fish you're targeting is crucial. Different species exhibit varied reactions to topwater lures, and even individual fish may respond differently based on factors like weather conditions and water temperature. Observing the water's surface for signs of fish activity, such as splashes, swirls, or tails breaking the surface, can provide valuable clues about the behavior and location of fish.
7. Practice Catch and Release
Topwater fishing often involves enticing strikes from aggressive fish. To contribute to the sustainability of fish populations, practice catch and release when appropriate. Use barb-less hooks to minimize damage during hook removal, and handle fish with wet hands to protect their slime layer. A healthy catch and release approach ensures that future anglers can enjoy the thrill of topwater fishing.
Conclusion
Mastering the art of topwater fishing adds a dynamic and thrilling dimension to your angling repertoire. By choosing the right lure, mastering the twitch and pause technique, timing your topwater fishing, adjusting to water conditions, being mindful of your equipment, understanding fish behavior, and practicing catch and release, you can increase your success and create lasting memories on the water. Embrace the excitement of topwater fishing, and let each explosive strike be a reminder of the thrill this technique brings to the world of angling. Tight lines and happy topwater fishing!

You also need to consider the size of the lure, the color, and the type of action it has. Depending on the type of bass you are trying to catch, you may need to choose a different type of lure. For example, if you are targeting bigger bass, you may want to opt for a large hard bait with a slow-rolling action.

Once you have chosen the right bass fishing lures for your situation, there are a few tips you should keep in mind when using them. First, be sure to use the right size and type of lure for the type of bass you are targeting. Second, keep your lures in the same area for a few casts before moving on to a new spot. How to Outsmart Your Peers on Pond Fishing Tips
Lums Pond, Positioned just off Rt. range 71, in Kirkwood Delaware, is a 190 acre condition park, with a very shallow launching ramp, and it has space for approximately 25-thirty automobiles with trailers in the most crucial lot with the launching ramp. You will find a day by day rate at sate parks, or a annually go is usually obtained at any from the park offices.™
This is the primary area for bass anglers in the spring and summer time, and gets quite large fishing strain, from weekend anglers and Match fisherman. Although it has loads of strain, there remain quite a few major bass in Lums, along with a first rate populace of Hybrid Striped Bass. Should you abide by these actions, you may continue to connect with a true trophy in Lums Pond this spring.
"Wooden Include"
There is Rather a lot of Wooden, laydowns, and cut off stumps in Lums. Almost all of the Wooden is situated within the left and right hand sides of the key lake, proper once the Beach front and docks, about one thousand yards up through the launching ramp. The first place to try is definitely the laydowns on the ideal, when you head up earlier the beach. This space is missed by lots of anglers, but is an efficient locale for largemouth's in The 2 to four pound assortment. This exact same place also holds A good number of Striped Bass hybrids that operate close to six kilos on typical, but some while in the 8 and 9 pound class happen to be caught listed here.
You can not go Erroneous by flipping a black/blue jig, with either a blue Uncle Josh Pork trailer, or maybe a Sweet Beaver trailer. Each have labored authentic nicely flipped into the laydowns together equally shores in this space. The North shore gets probably the most daylight inside the spring, and as a result, warms first. I prefer to use a seven foot, Falcon graphite rod, which has a Shimano Chronarch, spooled with 20 to 20-5 pound take a look at. Flip every one of the laydowns Within this region, Doing the job Every single among the list of branches relocating from the outside in, suitable up to your shore. If this space won't develop instantly, transfer across the lake to the opposite laydowns, and work them exactly the same way. When you can't get a hit in this area around the jig, normally, you are able to move off this region just a little farther, and rework a similar locations with a three/eight ounce Terminator spinnerbait in Golden Shiner, with tandem blades. Make as much contact with the wood from as many different angles as possible. Retaining a buzzbait rigged for this spot is a good idea, and repeatedly, recurring casts to precisely the same locations again and again, at diverse angles will provoke a response strike.
"Points and Drop-offs"
Even though it is typical information that bass will phase on fall-offs and points this time of calendar year, all drop-offs and points usually are not alike. Look for fall-offs and details which might be closest to the primary channel, if possible within the North shore, that have some type of new vegetation expansion under the area. There are various parts that happen to be eight and 9 toes deep, but the average depth is four ft, with a few of the shoreline Considerably shallower. The drinking water is rather stained to muddy, so the bass will go really shallow to feed. Never be scared to cast right up from the shore from the really shallow drinking water. In the beginning glance, Lums won't seem to have plenty of grass, algae, or emergent weed development, but there is a wide variety of aquatic vegetation beneath the floor that maintain a great deal of baitfish, and bass!
Probably the greatest places to attach with some large largemouth's and hybrids will be the sand level and fall-off just throughout in the dog schooling space. Perform this space properly with a white/chartreuse spinnerbait and prolonged shad colored minnow baits, such as a Husky Suspend Jerk, or even a Rattlin' Rogue in blue/chrome,or perhaps a Lucky Craft "Pointer".

Last calendar year Doing work this position, and the a single directly to the north of the cove which has a pier, we caught over 8 bass inside the 3 to 5 pound course, with a handful of great six pound Hybrids thrown in.
"Excitement the Flats"
Remember the buzzbait in the spring. When the h2o warms to sixty to sixty-five levels, the buzzbait will draw remarkable topwater explosions on overcast days, and sometimes The entire day. Often times in April, we commenced Together with the buzzbait early each morning, looking for Additional resources Lively fish, and under no circumstances switched baits all day. Some days of twenty to twenty-five fish, will not be unusual at all, with most inside the a few to four pound course. The most beneficial parts to the buzzbait in Lums are located on the flats which have been adjacent to deep water. A superb fish locator, like a Lowrance, that may be designed for shallow water general performance, is an excellent tool to get after you to start with start to examine Lums, as it has become the larger Delaware Ponds.
Head straight up the lake with the launching ramp till you can get into the upper conclusion of your lake. There'll certainly be a cove which has a fishing pier all of the way up on the correct. Perform this place with repetitious casts using a double-Excitement, in black, in addition to a clacker type buzzbait, such as a Terminator Ball Buster or Charon Klacker buzz, in 1/2 ounce, using a trailer hook. Often times below you'll get loads of short strikes as a result of muddy drinking water. A trailer hook will improve your hookups considerably. Stay very well off shore below, and make as many as thirty casts, from distinctive Instructions, in advance of transferring on. You should definitely be reluctant just a next when the bass strike, and established the hook challenging. I love to make use of a 7 foot Lews Crankin adhere, or simply a G.Loomis Crankin follow seventeen to 20 pound examination for such a fishing.
"Protect Water"
When the entire earlier mentioned procedures fall short, commence masking drinking water. At times the bass remain a little bit off shore in the early spring, and covering h2o rapidly, till you will get a strike, is a good idea. The most effective lures for this are 1/two ounce chrome/blue Rattlin' Rapalas. Situation the boat somewhat off shore, and Solid out for the drop-offs and weedlines, retrieving it back again using a pumping movement, elevating your rod from the 9 to 12 o'clock placement. Ensure that the hooks are definitely sharp. When you locate the fish, do the job the realm slowly and gradually Together with the lipless crankbaits, spider grubs, along with a four" Senko."
Follow the following pointers for Lums Pond this 12 months during the spring, and you will get A fast begin to a "trophy yr."
Later on in the afternoon, the region directly over the lake from right here includes lots of overhanging trees, and plenty of stumps. These stumps cannot be noticed right up until It is really far too late. So ensure that you Have got a breakaway mount on the electric motor, and preserve the outboard up out from the drinking water. You will find there's no-wake plan on Delaware ponds, but You need to use the outboards. The bass in these seriously pressured spots turn into conditioned to Appears additional easily, as they can't count so much on sight, due to the muddy drinking water. So maintain the trolling motor on reduced, and check out to avoid any banging close to while in the boat. I've caught bass with the trolling motor on, but many of the bass over 5 kilos had been caught While using the trolling motor off.
Retain these things in mind this year at Lums, and you'll join With all the bass you are trying to find. Many people get to the h2o far too late. Start out in mid to late March, or the moment the water temperature receives to close to forty-8 to fifty levels.
Much like in rivers, the opening will maintain the channel catfish for bait fishing action in ponds. Catfish will winter during the deepest holes in the pond and they're going to roam composition like points and flats which can be shut to their hole through spring, summer and tumble before the ice is on. In barren ponds seek out channel cats together banks that drop off speedy into deeper h2o. You will discover them all over docks and weed beds.
Receiving the bigger channel catfish in a very pond to Chunk is typically very hard, although not extremely hard. Among the best catfish fishing rigs to employ is a simple slip sinker rig. To produce a slip sinker rig for use for bait fishing for channel catfish in ponds abide by the next simple ways. Silde a little ¼ ounce egg sinker up your line, then tie over a two way ball bearing swivel. Ensure the ball bearing swivel is significant adequate Therefore the egg sinker would not slide excessive and earlier it toward the hook. Subsequent tie over a 8" to 12" inch chief with a three/0 to five/0 bait fishing hook. Use creek chubs cut into 2" to three" chunks for catfish bait. It's also possible to use gizzard shad Lower into strips or chunks if creek chubs usually are not accessible. Dip baits get the job done well When you are targeting smaller channel catfish.
To catch the big channel catfish it's best to fish during the night. After you locate the spot you ought to put in place to the night time you could improve your chances of catching some much larger channel cats if utilize a underwater fishing light-weight so you chum the world. You should use fish guts and blood, or little chicken guts laid out in Sunlight all day long for chum. If there are a few big catfish within the pond the small and flavor on the chum will entice them. The underwater fishing light-weight will draw in small bait fish to the realm and they're going to start out feeding around the chum. The greater channel catfish will Considerably les cautious and are available searching for an uncomplicated feed.
It is best to work with bait fish making use of organic catfish Slice baits like creek chubs and gizzard shad. Although the shad usually are not native to most ponds more substantial channel catfish want to consume oily fish as food stuff. The reason chumming appeals to The larger catfish is as it intensifies their smell and taste senses. Also for the reason that as I stated before the chum also draws in little bait fish to the world. Significant channel catfish cannot resist a feeding university of bait fish and you can use this point for your edge on your own upcoming bait fishing trip to your pond.
Perfectly individuals, that concludes my post about channel catfish approach in ponds. Have a very pleasant working day and the ideal of luck with your next fishing vacation!
